I.T school moments

I just randomly got this thought and I wanted to post. Funny stories I.T related when you was at school. This was 1-2 years ago.

 

In the UK the Secondary schools (ages 11 -16) computers are pretty much locked down. We was only allowed to access certain files and used IE9 as the default web browser which sucked. My friend decided to install Mozilla Firefox Nightly build by bypassing the blocking software and used an FTP site, he got sent to the IT technicians and they told him it was a security risk (lol) and got banned from using the computers at lunch time; it would not let him log in at certain times aha.

 

Also at lunch time I remember wanting to go on to a particular games website and I saved all these proxy servers in a word document that where hard to find due to the harsh blocking system. I was opening the links one by one and then suddenly they where getting blocked. I minimized my screen and then I knew them damn I.T 'techinicians' where monitoring my screen as the desktop wallpaper went blue and they were manually blocking the links. They have to ruin everything....

 

A year later my same friend installed this modded minecraft on his USB stick and hosted a server on the network which is obviously not allowed. The funny thing is he sent the MineCraft files to one person who asked and it spread to around 150 people. Also, downloading GTA from home on to the USB stick and running the game off the USB drive at school; same situation happened, he sent it to one and couple days later 20 people had it. 2 weeks later the I.T 'technicians' banned any .exe's they did not have authorized and they automatically got removed.

a friend of mine created a batch file (or system file, I dunno Im not good with code) which opened the disk tray every five seconds. He put it on all the computers in the library. Absolute laugh.

Everything is blocked at my school.. You can't even move icons around the desktop..

It's funny we have alot of blocked stuff,but we can access the BIOS.What else do I have to say?

the it guy at our school is awsome like at partys we alwase play like realy old school games on the network but still most of it locked down but the people that want to get around it will get around it but the it mr guy doesnt care about that
