So im new here.I started to look after a new GPU recently and i found one that s not so expensive and is good at the same time. Now i have to ask you if you know something about my motherboard compatibility with this GPU. My motherboard is an old one "DELL 0K216C" and i want to upgrade the GPU from AMD Radeon X1600 to Nvidia Geforce Expedition gtx 1050 ti. Do you know if the Graphic card is compatible with my old motherboard?

I added my system info if you need more details.

1050ti and an E7400 is gonna be a hell of a CPU bottleneck

It's actually one of those rare occurrences that I like to call "full bottlenecks," where a graphics upgrade past a certain point literally doesn't increase performance even a little. Sometimes if you've got a weak CPU and good GPU, it's just a little imbalanced, but a core 2 duo literally can't do any better than a GTX 1050, it just wouldn't give any improvement.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

im not contesting you with that statement there, but i wonder if i should test that

ive got a mountain of core2duos and something from every gen of gpu from an MX 420 up to a GTX 1060 sitting on a shelf, might be interesting

It's approximate, I had a core 2 quad q6600, a 680, and a 1050ti, and testing them all gave me a good result of a really hard performance cap (I even had a quadro M4000). Of course, there could have been driver discrepancies too, so the results weren't super scientific

With the Core2duo E7400 and the potential for that board to be 30w over pcie, i suggest a GT 1030 instead.

Otherwise yeah, itll be compatible, itll work. You dont gotta worry much about modern GPUs in old motherboards, so much as old gpus in new motherboards can be an issue sometimes.

I read the article from which I saw in conclusion that pcie1.1x16 is almost as good in games as pcie2.0 x8 and close to pcie3.0x4. So the games should work a little bit fine than my current video card.
