Intel 620 graphics & memory

I'm currently running on a HP probook with a core i5 8th gen cpu and 1x4gb of ddr4 ram intel 620 graphics the is using my ram as vram

i'm planning to upgrade to 12gb of ram (1x4gb & 1x8gb) will it be better to use 2x 4gb sticks of ram rather than 4 and 8 gb sticks of ram??

it doesn't matter compatabilitywise as long as you get the same speed and timings. where do you need 12 gigs for?

mostly editing and rendering but some light gaming too
