Hey,

So roughly October 2015 i bought a gaming laptop. Despite having the Computer detect what the best graphics quality is through the NVIDIA App (ultra or very high) and whatnot for my games (i mostly play siege) i consistently find myself with fps dropping below 40. worst ive ever had was 1 fps for absolutely no reason. To mitigate all of this i often play Siege at mid to low settings to just get 30 sometimes 40 if im lucky.

Specs:

ASUS ROG

Processor: Intel Core i7-4720 HQ CPU @ 2.60 GHz

Ram: 16.0 GB

GPU: NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 960M

Specs copied from Settings page.

Is there any way i could maybe boost my frames that any of you know? Ive tried to overclock but its a pre built laptop so i am not able to do that.

i guess what im asking here. would it be smarter for me to go for a new build or stick with this for a while until it finally hits the can?

If thermal throttling is a problem, repaste and see if that makes it reasonably do what you want.

If not, go for a 1060/1070 based laptop to replace it.
