Can't receive friend request from Fortnite (PS4)

I usually see friend requests on fortnite but when i send a friend request to a friend he said that he didn't see it why? We are cross platform (Me PC Friend PS4) Is that the problem Should i try on PS4? He is offline all the time. But he is online he says. The username is right. Away/online option: is online. BUT nope after all this he does not see it?! If anyone can help i will give a HUGE thank you to the person who helped me (If anyone can help obviously).
