LG 27UD88-W vs Asus MX27UC

Hey Everyone,

My question stems from a need(WANT) to upgrade to 4k. I primarily use my computer for gaming, editing photo, and video. My video and photo editing are from a 4k camera and would love to edit raw in its native resolution for the best experience. I have done extensive research on these two monitors, and due to the rise in popularity of the LG ud88 there seem to be a minimal amount of inventory on the market. This has caused a major price gouge on most sites. So this is where the Asus MX27UC  comes into play...They seem pretty comparable in most aspects besides physical adjustment, appearance, and Price. I have come to the Linus Tech Tips community to ask for some opinion and personal experience with these two monitors. The Asus Designo series is confusing to me because they don't seem to have a clear target market, that i can find, so its hard to know if they are actually as similar as the specs make them seem. Please help. Thank you for your time.

Its a tough one... They both seem very quality, but each have odd market issues. Lg being sold out or on back order everywhere, and overpriced wherever its not. The Asus Designo series has great reviews across the board when looking at the 1440 and under resolution. Designo 4k reviews are nonexistent...This leaves a feeling in my gut with both of them in my shopping cart and trying to find out which one to delete...

Well the Samsung is kinda not future proof, as the LG has at least IPS panel.

But something is telling me to wait for new ones
