lenovo y700

zedselder

hello guys

im looking to buy a lenovo y700 to play games while im outside or sitting on my bed for example, i know its not a high end gaming laptop i have a very good gaming pc that im proud of and i dont care much about graphics quality of fps a lot as long as the game is playable and good looking even at low settings.

so the specs will be
intel core i7 6700hq
15.6" fhd ips antiglare
win 10
16gb ddr4 2133mhz
1tb hdd 5400rpm sata 3 for storage
128gb m.2 ssd for os
nvidia gtx 960m 4gb
wifi intel ac 8260/webcam 720p/bluetooth 4/card reader 4 in 1/etc
full backlit 10 key keyboard/2.1 jbl and dolby audio/internal mic/ 4 cell 60 whr battery/etc
lan 1000m/ usb 3/usb 2/ hdmi/etc

so my question is will this laptop be able to play all games even aaa in the long run even with low settings and mid 20s fps

I have a Gigabyte P34Gv2 with similar specs albeit slightly older.

i7 4710HQ, 8 GB DDR3, GTX 860M

CPU and GPU are similar but slightly older so the Lenovo should perform about 10% better. I can play older AAA titles like AC4 Black Flag at 1080p low settings solid 60 FPS, and ultra can maintain 30 FPS. Newer games will be harder to run ofc but 1080p low to medium should definitely be playable at 30 FPS or above.

I have the Y50 (previous version of the same design) - I can play all games. Rise of the Tomb Raider with Tress FX enabled, medium shadows, maxed textures and bloom got me 35-40fps

Witcher 3 low gets me over 50fps

860M and 960M are the same GPU core (860M at 1100MHz and 960M at 1200MHz) so yes. I'd say you are good
