replacment parts for blue yeti peripherals

SPG
Go to solution Solved by ShearMe,

the hinge (wow i feel stupid, I forgot what a hinge was >.>)

yes, i need a hinge that works with the radius, sorry for being very confusing

You might have to email Blue and see if they can source you a replacement piece. I wouldn't know where to begin about finding the exact size hinge that is compatible.

So recently I moved my pc around and in putting my mic back together the clamp on the boom arm snapped because my brother pulled on it too hard or something. So I need to buy a new one, and I figured might as well fix a few other things too while im at it.

can anyone link me where I can buy a replacement desk clamp for this? (mind you my desk is glass, so i would either need something that can stretch to the metal frame or has a wide surface area so it wont tip over.

The other thing is, my mic is hooked to this boom rather poorly and I rather not have it like this anymore, problem is, I'm having issues finding replacement parts for this. I currently have a blue yeti radius attached to the boom, problem is that I lost the piece that connects to the boom, I have this black one poorly hooked up right now as you can see here: http://i.imgur.com/hhRPfau.jpg

Here is the issue with it, its not strong so it is tipping over, its not compatible with the radius by any stretch of the imagination (its sort of forced in with a screw) and its just resting on the metal rod. So its anything but secure. So if you could link me a replacement to something that will let me attach the shock mount to my boom, it would be much appreciated.

tl;dr i need a desk clamp, and something to connect my shock mount to my boom arm

Your best options may be to contact the support pages for the respective companies. I'm not knowledgeable enough about clamping mechanisms to offer you any alternatives and I can't find any information aside from the product pictures as to how it is designed.

As for the shock mount: When you say "its not compatible with the radius" what do you mean by this? Is the bracket to tight, to lose?  The adapter it self is resting losely ontop of the boom arm. You should be able to buy adapters but you will need to know the radius of the male and female parts.

Did the boom come with it's own shock mount, you could try using the connector from that and the sizing adapter it came with.

I would contact the support teams at the respective companies and see if they can't give you a hand or sell you the replacement part if you can't find anything.

I think he means the Yeti doesn't fit in the shockmount.

no, the yeti works with the shock mount, the radius is made by blue, in other words its made for the yeti (and the snowball i think)

as for the adapter that bingabuff linked, im aware i need that (thanks btw) but actually I need something along the lines of this that works with the radius....uh this thing http://gyazo.com/1b86ef45f54bbd835a688900885bd9ed(the object between the metal rod and the microphone holder) or this one http://gyazo.com/a20a412d2310dad3b9629622e7c923ba which is the one that I lost, so i may just have to contact blue no clue what its called, but all i know is that it isnt meant to be used with the radius and im forcing it to hold it.

also, if you dont know what im refering to by the radius, its this thing http://www.amazon.com/Blue-Microphones-Ringer-Universal-Shockmount/dp/B000H18RYS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1424728780&sr=8-1&keywords=blue+radius

ya, but im already aware of what i need in terms of the converter, it doesnt chagne the fact i cant conenct the radius to the boom it self because i need that black bit i showed in that picture, with out that, the converter is rather useless

I was under the assumption that you had a part like that that you had taken from a different mount and the problem was that this replacement was loose.

no, that black part was taken from something else and is incompatible with the radius, so i have a nut and screw jammed in it so it stays in place in hopes it never falls out. So I need a replacement part for what that black bit does...but works with the radius...does that make sense? sorry im being kind of confusing, not knowing the correct terms for these items makes it rather difficult to explain

Yeah, I have no idea what you're talking about because you're using so many pronouns.

In my poorly drawn diagram, where would the piece you're looking for go?

You might have to email Blue and see if they can source you a replacement piece. I wouldn't know where to begin about finding the exact size hinge that is compatible.
