SATA 3 Controller card not working (Bios?)

sTizzl

First off i would like to list my system specs

Motherboard: GA-P55-UD6 Bios version F10

CPU: i7-860

GPU: XFX Radon HD 5870 Black Edition

PSU: Thermaltake Blackwidow 850W

RAM: G.skill 16GB 1600 MHz (however downclocked to 1333)

SSD: Corsair Force GT 90GB (wanting to boot to this through card)

HDD: WD 2TB Black (among many others, this is my current boot drive)

Add-In Cards in order from top to bottom.

SYBA USB 3.0 4-port PCI-Express x1 Controller Card, VLI VL80x Chip Model SD-PEX20133

Video card

Blank 1x slot (because of video card)

Blank PCI slot

SYBA SY-PEX40039 PCI-Express 2.0 SATA III (6.0Gb/s) Controller Card

Rocket-fish 5.1 PCI sound card

DIAMOND ATI Theater 750 PCIE HD TV Tuner Card

Okay, now that is out of the way, here is the problem.

i can not install my genuine copy  (not genuin DVD, but genuin ISO) to my SSD while it is connected to the controller card. i have tried pressing F6, that did not work. i have tried booting to the dvd and starting the install, then loading the drivers from both the disc that came with the controller card from the cd and a usb drive during windows install, but  windows still can not see the drive.

i have a feeling there is something hiding in the bios that i need to change however i have combed through my manual and all the functions and can not seem to find it.

if thats not it i am open to any suggestions.

something to keep in mind, it is very possible my card is just bad (seriously getting sick of getting "bad" cards that just stright up do not work, yes this is a cheep card, i am  aware of that.) i have also tried to install the drivers via setup on the disc that came with the card on my current OS that is running off my HDD and it dosnt work, so.... yes that leads me to belive its a bad card i just wanted get a 2nd opinion first.

Also, with my USB 3.0 card that i have just installed, the first drive i pluged in to it was a brand new Seagate 4TB external. when i tried to move files to and from it, i got BSOD.

USB controller cad, Sata3 controller card, and TV tuner card were all installed at once. usb and sata card new, tv tuner card old but i am original owner.

anyone have any ideas i can try before i RMA the USB and SATA3 cards?

P.S. yes i could just use the SSD in the onboard sata2 slots but...its a force GT i got as a replacement from corsair, and its sata3. and i am really sick of usb 2.0 speeds.

thank you in advance.

Hmm..Dad always told me to start with 1 hardware install at a time..Pull everything BUT the new SATA card..including turning off your on board SATA controllers...and see if it makes any difference..

It may not..but I hope it will...

..have a look at the README file from the driver download found on the SYBAUSA site..Check that your BIOS settings line up

************************************************************
* 4.  DETERMINING THE SYSTEM MODE
************************************************************

To use this readme effectively, you will need to know what
mode your system is in. The easiest way to determine the
mode is to identify how the Serial ATA controller is
presented within the Device Manager. The following
procedure will guide you through determining the mode.

1.  On the Start menu, select Control Panel.

2.  Open on the 'System' applet (you may first
have to select 'Switch to Classic View').

3.  Select the 'Hardware' tab.

4.  Select the 'Device Manager' button.

5.  From the Device Manager, look for an entry named
    'SCSI/RAID Controllers'.
If this entry is present, expand it and look for one of
    the following controllers:

    - 'Asmedia 106x SATA Controller'
If the Controller above is present, no further action
      is required.

     - If neither of the controllers above are shown, then
the system is not running in RAID mode and you should
    continue with step 6 below.

6.  From the Device Manager, look for an entry named
    'IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers'.
If this entry is present, expand it and look for one of
    the following controllers:

    - 'Asmedia 106x SATA Controller'
If the Controller above is present, no further action
      is required.

    - If this controller is not present, then your system
is not in AHCI mode. No other modes are supported by
the Asmedia 106x SATA Host Controller Drive software and you
should continue with step 7 below.

7.  Your system does not appear to be running in RAID or
AHCI mode. If you feel that your system is running in
RAID or AHCI mode and you do not see any of the
controllers listed above, you may choose to contact
your system manufacturer or place of purchase for
    assistance.
