AverMedia Live Gamer HD Monitor Sleep Issues

I have the AverMedia Live Gamer HD (C985) and have my monitor permanently hooked up through it.  I am running an HDMI cable from the top card of an EVGA GTX 560Ti 2GB SLI setup into the HDMI in on the capture card.  I then have the HDMI to DVI adapter hooked up to the HDMI out of the capture card.  A DVI cable then runs from the end of the adapter to my Dell 2209WAf 1680x1050 60Hz IPS display.  It does not have HDMI in.  I am also running sound from my Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty Champion Edition to the audio in, and then from the audio out to my Logitech X-530 5.1 (Using 2.1).

 

If anyone has experienced this problem of the monitor not going to screensaver, or turning off after the specified time, I would love to hear some suggestions/solutions.

are you using a passive or an active adapter?

 

try using the one which you aren't
