Microphone with xlr to 3.5mm cable

Guest

Would the Sennheiser e 835 work with a xlr to 3.5mm cable? It's a dynamic mic, so it doesn't need phantom power, right?

To answer your question, yes it will work. But the quality will not be great and the chance there will be a lot of humming is also high. To solve that problem i would go with an audio interface if you have the money.

If you want plug and play with no extra features you can go with these:

https://www.thomann.de/intl/behringer_mic_2_usb.htm

https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MIC2USB--behringer-mic2usb

But if you want more features and higher quality you can go for any of the following:

- Behringer UMC 22 or one of the bigger variants (202, 202hd, 204hd, 404hd)

- Focusrite scarlett solo

I myself have gotten the Behringer umc 404hd and am very positive about it although i have never tried any of the other ones.
