Hello there, A few weeks ago i moved my pc downstairs because parentss So i needed to run a ethernet cable across the hall to the living room But today i taught what if i use my old pci network adapter instead of that bloody cable... So i put in my network card in my pc but it doesn't work Things i've tried so far (Other card slot, different versions of drivers, device manager(doesn't show up),network adapter settings, launching it as an administrator and tried launching it in safe mode) but it all doesn't work. So i taught it was fried but i placed it in a other pc with windows 8 and there it worked.... So i think the problem is my windows version (windows 10) but Tp-link says that it works on windows 10 so i ran out of ideas so i taught lets ask the people here Hope you guys have a solution ! Hello, i am looking to get a new wireless card from my TP link N900 having problems (low speeds and pinging to servers extremely high, yet these issues are not present on my F2-A88xn wifi board with its intel AC 7620. Connected to the same router) so with ryzen on the horizion i want to get rid of my issues with a new card. The problem is that i am torn between these cards they all look identical but the prices on them vary quite a bit, i know the asus model has a large antenna but i plan on using solid antennas for any card. So is there any real differences or should i just go for the cheaper Roswell model?

ASUS PCE-AC56 wireless card isn't picking up 5ghz signals
friendshipguy posted a topic in Networking
Hey guys - I'm not sure if this is the right subsection of the form to post this on, but my network card isn't picking up 5ghz networks. I've tried it using the network configuration tool on Windows, the utility that comes with the card, as well as uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and the card a multitude of times. Some details: There's one floor between the router on my PC that the card is plugged in to, though I'm quite literally 10 feet above the router. the 5ghz network is certainly on, everything else in my room is connected to it. I'm not quite sure what might be the situation here. It also picks up the 2.4ghz network absolutely fine. For reference here's the card: ASUS Wi-Fi PCI Express Adapter (PCE-AC56)- 1 reply

Hey all, Currently in my laptop I have a Intel 8260 wireless card... Works perfectly fine. My router finally busted so I had to buy a new one, I got an amazing deal on the newer Linksys WRT32x router... Main thing It seems with this router is the Killer Prioritization it has to offer. Now I have a latency around 80 currently, I know that's not terrible.. Just wondering if I were to get a killer 1535 chip and put it in the laptop and utilize the router's perk.. would it be worth it? Seems the chip goes for about 20 bucks on amazon. Just trying to achieve lower ping. If it wouldn't be worth it, then oh well.. Still got a solid deal on this router. Didn't buy it just because of that feature. Any opinions? Thanks.

So i recently purchased a Gigabyte Z170N-WIFI motherboard which comes with built in wifi. I built my system and installed Windows 10 Pro 64 bit. When I finally got into the OS wifi wasn't an option, only ethernet. In device manager the two ethernet ports were fine but there was a yellow caution triangle (with a "!" in it) next to the wifi card. Clicking on that and the "Device status" gives me, "This device cannot start. (Code 10) This device does not exist." If I go to drivers and then driver details there are three files that all say WINDOWS\system32. If I'm not wrong in thinking these are 32 bit drivers, I'll need to get rid of them and install 64 bit ones. EDIT: I plugged into ethernet to try to fix the problem but it's in my kitchen and is only temporary so I need this problem fixed. The wireless adapter itself is "Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260." On Intel's website they have Bluetooth software and "PROSet/Wireless Software" for my card. I installed Bluetooth to see if it would work and in Device Manager under Network adapters there is now "Bluetooth Device (Personal Area Network) and "Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI), which I assume means it installed correctly. However, the "PROSet/Wireless Software" installed, said "Success," but it didn't do anything (I did install the 64 bit version.) HALP

Hey guys, I’m building a budget pc build and I need to install a wireless card. Problem is that the gpu I bought, a PowerColor Red Dragon Rx 570, takes up two slots. Since the PCIE slot for my wireless card is directly underneath the PCIE 16, I can’t fit both in. I’ve attached a photo showing what I mean. Even if I wanted to, I can’t 570 in the PCIEX4 because it’s still too big. Any recommendations for another GPU that’s comparable and takes up one slot? I’m running a Ryzen 5 1600 processor

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 not working on Laptop
EdgardoAM93 posted a topic in Troubleshooting
HI everyone would really like some help with a wifi card. So I decided to update my POS laptop. Was going to buy a new one, but decided to just upgrade some stuff on this one so I could put more into the computer I am planning to build. I have a Emachines E443-BZ602(EME443 is another way Ive found it online) Laptop I know its not the greatest, but I bought it when I didnt know too much about tech. I upgraded to a 500gb samsun evo ssd, crucial 8gb ram, and a Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 wireless card. After install everything works great with the exception of the wifi. The bluetooth works fine(a feature which my computer didnt have before), but the wifi doesnt work. It doesnt even show any possible networks I can connect to. I have tried manually downloading the drivers as well as using the device manager, but everything seems to be up to date. I would like to mention that when a manually installed the drivers and had to restart my computer and my screen stayed black even tho i could hear the fans(An issue i would also like help with at a future time). But after a few tries of reinstalling the drivers and restarting my laptop finally did restart, but still no wifi. At this point I dont know what to do. I also noticed that my laptop only has one antenna, and the card has for two, but so did my previous wifi card and that card never had an issues. -
Hey guys, I'll be building my computer real soon. I got most of my parts already(parts down below), and I decided to look at optional things I could possibly put in. So I looked at and M.2 SSD, a wireless network adapter card, and internal game capture card. All things that affected the PCIe lanes, then I realize that when I do put another graphic cards(probably next summer) that it might affect my chances to put them in SLI. So I was wondering, if these extra thing will affect really affect that, if I do plan to use them? Since you guy will probably ask as to why I would possibly want to add these components: NVMe SSD enough said; Wireless Adapter I have a big ass 4k TV downstairs that the internet cable won't reach to, so that will be the solution now until I have away to stream my games from my room; As for the capture card, I don't want to bother switching the input every time to use the monitor between my computer and console. Also I'd like to stream on twitch to mostly my friends. Motherboard: MSI z170 Gaming Pro Carbon CPU: 6700k GPU: EVGA FTW GTX 1080 PSU: EVGA 750w G2(side question: do you think this is enough watt for 2 gtx 1080?) EDIT: Capture Card AverMedia LGHD: http://www.avermedia.com/gaming/product/game_capture/live_gamer_hd

So I recently moved back home and unfortunately so did my sister. This has created some problems to say the least the main of which is the Internet. The problem is I'm a die hard ethernet fan and my small minded sister thinks that when I plug my ethernet in to the router it cuts her connection completely, She doesn't understand loading or the principle of shared connection speeds. Need less to say every five minutes she pulls my ethernet out. So basically I am forced to buy a wireless card. This is where you guys come in, I'm looking to spend as little money as possible on this while achieving a decent bandwidth so dual band is a must. From my searches so far the lowest price to performance card I've found comes in at £13.98 GDP. My question is am I going to be satisfied with the performance of this card (Link below) and does anyone have any other suggestions. http://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-LINK-TL-WN881ND-300Mbps-Wireless-Express/dp/B006BSPTAQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1432985968&sr=8-1&keywords=pci+express+wireless+card I realise this was a very long winded post for what could have just been (wireless card yay or nay) and that this is further adding to the unnecessary lengthiness feel free to click away and erase from your minds.

Hello so I have a ASUS Z87-EXPERT motherboard with the wireless card built in, I have a Nighthawk router that is located in my family room. My Desktop is a floor up on the other side of the house (so there are like 4 walls my router needs to pass through to get to my room. I also have a NVidia Shield and I want to use it to stream games from my desktop to my living room but because of the range it lags, etc. So I was thinking of getting a TP-LINK Archer T8E AC1750 Dual Band Wireless PCI Express Adapter ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RL4A314?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00 ). Will that help or is it just a waste of money?

Well, as the name says, I have an Internet Issue with my desktop. It's a pretty normal one, an i3, GTX 750 Ti, Asus motherboard and etc. (Don't talk about that please). But the part I'm most concerned about is my wireless card (I can't use Ethernet). The brand is TP-Link, and it is a PCI-E 300mbps model; I'm worried that I wasted $20 on this wireless card that cuts out every 10 minutes and forces laag when I'm playing any sort of game that needs wi-fi. My theories are, that: 1. My Rogers internet is just bad; probably not true because my MacBook Air gets 15 mbps downloading, a.k.a. perfectly fine, or at least I hope so. 2. A bad router; my father was speaking to one of his friends who works at Canada Computers, and talking about how his router, the one I connect to, is only so-so and produces really bad connections up to my room. The router itself is an Asus one, I don't know the model, but it looks like it has sharp angles, and on the front there are little diamond shaped ridges, where blue lights come on to show that it's powered on. Still, my Macbook Air gets really good wi-fi! 3. The wireless card; probably one of the main reasons, as I have said before; a cheap, low quality card with a 300mbps rate. Now, I have been looking at Intel's cards and seeing if they're any better, as they include things like Bluetooth, at a price of around $50, and with Intel's quality. I have been looking especially at theirs, because their wi-fi cards are use all over the place, including my MacBook, which gets really good wi-fi. 4. Maybe it's just the 5 GHz signal; maybe true, but I have seen differences when downloading games on Steam - 5 GHz wi-fi is much faster, or at least I think so, and sadly my current card doesn't support it . This could be just the case as my MacBook just proves the other 3 reasons wrong. 5. My crappy mouse; It's a Logitech M525, wireless mouse, but because it doesn't use bluetooth, and my wireless card doesn't support it either, it uses the generic 2.4 GHz signal; now because this is also the signal that my wi-fi uses, it really doesn't help, so even a wired connection would be better than this (I may get a G502 on Black Friday/ Cyber Monday). Then again, it may not be true, but when I unplug the USB nano receiver for my mouse on my MacBook, my wi-fi actually does improve, slightly. Now, I hope you people out there will be able to help and support me through the dark times of my lag. Here are the 5 best reasons for it I can think of, but I'll leave it to you to figure it out, as I am only a (you may say), "spoiled child" who doesn't deserve his desktop and is a noob at building PCs, but oh well; just PLEASE PLEASE HELP MEEEEE.

So I've been planning this build and I've gone through many revisions and I'm sure I will go through more, but for now I need some help in picking a few parts. 1. Ram, 16GB at least 1600 clock 2. Wireless card, doesn't really matter as long as it's good at what its supposed to do. 3. Monitor, preferably nothing smaller than 24 inches, eventually planning on triple monitors. http://pcpartpicker.com/user/ilya2006/saved/X7f2FT There's the build link! The only thing that I won't change are the parts that I already purchased! Any questions? Ask away! Thanks!

My WiFi card (RalinkRT3090PCIE-C1) suddenly stopped working, so I restarted my computer. When the computer turned on it came up with a little bubbles that said "Could not reconnect to all network drives" and then i couldn't find and use my WiFi card. I have searched in device manager and network adapters and still could not be found. Now I have to use a blue Ethernet cable across my house which my parents aren't to happy about. How can I fix this problem? (: Windows 7 64 Bit AMD Phenom X6 1035T 8gb DDR3 RAM 1.5T Harddrive AMD Radeon HD 6570

I just bought the TP-Link L-WDN4800 N900 PCI-E Adapter, however I not sure about how to install it in my previous factory built computer. The computer is a Dell Inspiron 620 made in 2011; I've never cracked open the case so I want step by step instructions on how to install the wireless adapter.

Hello. I have an old Dell PC that used to use an Ethernet cable with, but now since I have it far away from my route I use the integrated wireless card and its incredibly slow. I used to get 30 mbps internet with the Ethernet cable, but now with the integrated wireless adapter 0.40 mbps. So, I want to buy a separate wireless adapter for it, but I don't know which to buy.

I would like to know if anyone has utilized the combo card that comes with Asus ROG motherboards. I have installed the card, but I do not know what antennas to use. The antennas that I looked at online have certain gains and I dont know what my wireless card requires. I have installed the Intel Centrino Advanced 6235 wireless card. Also, I would like to use this card to create a WIDi connection. Any advice is appreciated.
