Sorry if I’m just being really dumb right now. I’m trying to leak test my first custom loop but I can’t figure out how to plug the pump into the PSU. I’m using this https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-classic-dp-front-pc-o11d-d-rgb-spc-pwm and the header coming off it is a 4-pin that goes into a fan header on the MB (not sure if that’s the standard so I’m mentioning it) and obviously that port is female. I searched around and found out it’s supposed to go into a 4-pin to molex power cable and that plugs into the PSU but the cable my PSU came with is also female on the 4-pin side so I don’t know how to plug it in. I’ve checked all over for any other cables but there isn’t any that will help, only other cable is the 4-pin male to female extension cable included with the distro plate, but obviously that’s still giving me the same issue. Hello, I had a problem the last days and I cant solve it. My PC broke and I thought it was the Mainboard, but now with the new one It don't start either, only if I unplug the CPU_PWR1 cables. I have a 4+4 Power supply cable what I can attach to my CPU_PWR1 entrance. Unplugged/with no Power supply cable= it starts Plugged with Power supply cable= it don't starts. My PC parts that are relevant for this post are: Mainboard: MSI Z390 Gaming Plus CPU: Intel i7 7700k Cooling: Corsair H80i v2 water pump If anyone can help me to fix my PC it would help a lot.

I have installed the EK AIO into my system (previouslly i had a thermaltake AIO installed that worked perfectly). This issue is that on each bootup the Mobo is not detecting the EK water pump and not starting the pump untill around 30 seconds after Windows starts. The CPU in that time reaches around 203F (95C). I have the water pump connected to CPU_OPT header (the same header as the previous AIO pump was connected to that worked fine). Does anyone have any ideas as to why this could be happening? Hello, when I tried to start my computer today it stopped me at the American Megatrends site and I get past the Bios. I did some research and I got a clue but nothing really helped. In the Bios it says CPU FAN N/A and when I try to configure it (to full speed) it doesn't change. The Radiator Fans just go from normal to full speed (no matter the configuration) but the CPU heats up from 40 to over 70°C. It seems as if the pump gave up on life. The PC is brand new, I bought and built everything in August. Should I just send the water cooler back or is this just a easy fix error? I built it as said in the manual and yesterday everything worked fine. I also checked if everything is still plugged in properly and it was. Also as you can see in the attached pictures it registers my RAM as 2133MHz even though I installed 3000MHz modules. Just noticed it taking the pictures I've built lots of computers before, liquid and water cooled and never encountered this problem. Please help.

So I havn't build up a new PC since AMD 1090t was released so i'm a bit rusty. Motherboard - Asus Z170-A CUP Cooler - Corsair H100i V2 I've reached the CUP cooler installation ok and i noticed my MB has the normal CUP Fan header & a W_Pump (water pump) header. Which one would be best to use ? Note: the H100i v2 has a 3 pin connector the pump connects to not a 4 pin one, if you need images.....there's google but i'll post if you really want me to THANKS

I have purchased an alpha cool reservoir that needs a separate D5 pump (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AWWTZVU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). Now the pump that supposedly works with the reservoir according to alpha cools web page dose not have good news in regards of quality (dies in 6 months, noisy, etc.). As in I would like to know if I can use off brand D5 pumps with the reservoir and not have problems.

Is it ok to plug my watercooling pump in cpu_fan instead of water pump since my motherboard doesn't support it? Thanks

I have a Gigabyte GA-Z170-HD3 and in the process of changing over to water cooling but I am not sure where to plug in my two fans on the radiator and the pump at. I am using the A240G EK aluminum water kit. The picture is the list of the internal connections on my motherboard from the site. Do I use them all on system fans and plug another fan into the cpu fan header so that the system boots or use the pump on the cpu fan header so that if there is a problem the computer shuts down automatically. The fans have 4 pins and so does the pump

hi guy for the water pump i seen in some video there is a molex and PWM connector.So i can either connect one of them right? But ekwb told be saying that if a pump have both connector(PWM and molex) i must plug both in so that is will fully work is this true i am confused

Hey guys, I have a Gigabyte GA-Z97N-WIFI Mini ITX LGA1150 Motherboard along with a 2x Corsair H75 54.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler to cool the CPU and GPU (via a Corsair HG10 N980). My motherboard only has 2 4 pin PWM fan headers (1 for CPU and 1 for SYS FAN) so I was looking for advice on what configuration I should use to hook up the fans/water coolers. I have: 2 3 pin fan inputs for the 2 corsair H75s 1 4 pin PWM push fan for the CPU H75 Radiator 2 4 pin PWM push/pull fans for the GPU H75 Radiator 1 4 pin PWM Noctua fan blowing on the GPU/ HG10 N980 blower I bought a SilverStone Tek 1-to-8 PWM Fan Hub (CPF04) which will get here in a few days and have a bunch of Y-splitters at my disposal as well. How do you guys think I should hook up all the fans? Should I connect the 2 3 pin water pump plugs (via a Y-splitter) to CPU fan header and then the rest of the fans onto the SilverStone Tek hub (which connects to the SYS fan header). Another thought I had is maybe I can connect the 2 3 pin water pump plugs via Molex (since PWM functionality is not necessary) and then connect the 4 pin PWM push fan for the CPU radiator to the CPU fan header on the mobo and then the rest of the fans via the Silverstone Tek hub (via SYS fan header again). Of course, I don't want to just connect everything via the molex cables, because everything would just be running at full power/speed (high noise) without any variance. I'm looking at purchasing a new motherboard and I've had my sights on the Asus Z97 Pro-Gamer for quite some time as it's not as overkill as the Rampage boards but it has some extra features compared to the Z97-A without breaking the bank. So my question is two fold: I'm going to be switching to liquid cooling and I've read/heard that it is highly recommended to plug the pump into a header (or directly to the psu) that would provide 100% power at all times as opposed to plugging the pump into the cpu fan header where it would be controlled depending on how stress is on the cpu. Rather than getting an adapter to plug the pump into the power supply, I was wondering if the Chassis fan headers (CHA_FAN) on the asus motherboard are PWM like the cpu header or if they supply 100% all the time. I've tried searching around but I was unable to find anything conclusive. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

[i apologize for the bad English as I am from Italy] Okay so I recently built my new gaming pc but ran into some trouble with connecting the fans to the included pwm fan hub and plugging it into the motherboard. The situation is this: - Motherboard: ASUS Maximus VIII Hero - CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X61 - Fans: 3x120mm fans in the front (3 pin) 1x140mm fan in the back (3 pin) 2x140mm radiator fans (4 pin) - PWM Fan Hub included in the case The issue came up because the water pump was making continuous noise and it was quite annoying especially because the 6 fans don't make almost any noise and I can clearly hear the sound coming from the water pump over all the other fans. I checked the NZXT website and they say this: I checked the BIOS but I can't find any CPU fan voltage setting (BIOS updated to the latest version). This problem made me reconsider how I wired up all the fans and the fan hub so here I am asking for a little help. So of course in the W_PUMP I plugged the water pump, then in the CPU_FAN I plugged one of the two 140mm pwm radiator fans that came with the Kraken X61. Now for the interesting part: the manual of the Noctis 450 says that you should plug the cpu fan to the pwm fan hub and plug the fan hub into the cpu fan header on the motherboard; so I plugged the second 140mm pwm radiator fan into the pwm fan hub and the fan hub itself into the CPU_OPT fan header on the motherboard. I then plugged all the other fans into the pwm fan hub. Here's the picture of the fan hub itself. The white fan header is where you should plug the cpu fan like I mentioned above. The cable to power the pump (SATA) also has these 4 pin fan headers attached to it but I didn't plug any fan into them. What would be the best configuration? Did I do anything wrong? Where is the fan voltage option in the BIOS? Any help or advice is appreciated, please let me know if you need more details! Thanks to everyone

I have researched water pumps for a couple of hours and finally narrowed my decision down to Swiftech MCP655, but then I see there are several variations of this pump. I'm not sure I understand the differences enough to be able to decide which is best for me. Hello, I made the terrible mistake of buying the MCP 655 water pump without the speed controller. So I am looking to buy a custom PWM controller and set it up. Hi there everyone on the forum so I'm still deciding to get a watercooling kit instead of buying the parts seperatly and have come across this kit Alphacool NexXxoS Cool Answer 240 DDC/XT - kit which comes with the DDC Pump since I don't want a bay res I was hoping to get a different res but is the pump compatiable with different res's I'm thinking to get this one Phobya Balancer 250 Silver Nickel Reservoir, but will it work with this pump.
