Hello, So, I just bought my first mechanical keyboard (haven’t gotten it yet) it’s a Daskeyboard 4 root (the pro non-root costs $50 more where I live…). With Cherry browns. And I wonder. will keycaps from WASD Keyboards fit on the Das. I type in a few languages and will probably want a multilingual set at some point. Thanks, Adam

Well , I am currently and have been for awhile now rocking the Corsair K65. I love it, don't get me wrong. What I want to know is, what are you guys using for a gaming keyboard for FPS type games or any really. I am curios and just looking for something new to pick up. I have looked at the Ducky Shine series and also have been looking at some WASD keyboards. The switches I have now are Cherry MX Red. I have been looking at Blues or Browns! Thanks so much for the feedback!

I wanna make my own skin for my keycaps. I wanna put there my custom image. I followed their tutorial on their site but the image doesn´t show up when I open it on chrome. Can someone help me? I didn´t work with inkscape before. I put my template down there, if someone will repair it or something like that, i will be very thankful. Pretty simple, rank em! Curious who likes what the best. I've done some searching, and haven't seen a thread like this in a while. Suggest more names if you want them to be added. Post your reasons if you so desire. Me: 1. Awesome Hardware - Because it's LONG, and I've always been a fan of Paul's calm disposition, and Kyle's jokes/humor, which is much less punny than Linus'. 2. The WAN Show - If it was longer, it'd be tied for my number one. I understand it's purpose, and I love Linus and Luke, but it's basically a discussion of the same forum posts we've seen throughout the week. I liked it much better when I didn't check the forum all the time. That's a personal thing though. 3. The TEK - Great source for your tinfoilhat news, nice insight into corporate practice/the government, etc.. I could listen to Wendell spew knowledge for hours. 4. Tech Talk - Has really gone downhill lately imo, they rarely talk about tech anymore, and if anyone questions them about it they get all pissy. Usually just turns into weightloss/drones/3Dprinting/biking talk. The constant fart sfx pushed me away. Jay just gets way too defensive about some stuff, not my cup of tea. 5. WASD - Not my cup of tea either, but just unprofessional and snarky imo. Can't say I'll miss it. **Also, I just went through the COC, I don't think it's against forum rules to talk about other channels, is it?

So, I own a Corsair K70 RGB keyboard with Cherry Mx Browns which I love. I hear a lot of good things about WASD keyboards, so I decided to look them over. One hundred and fifty dollars for their standard keyboard, and only five dollars knocked off for their keyboard without a number pad. I just think that price is a little ridiculous considering they are kind of bare bones keyboards. I think that the one hundred dollar price range would be a lot better. I would buy a WASD keyboard if they were in the one hundred dollar price range.

Hi i have been looking in to getting a keyboard for a while and i have finally narrowed my search down to the WASD keyboard WASD V2 87-key custom mechanical keyboard "link at the bottom" i was just wondering if they are any good and if anyone who has one thinks about them after having the keyboard for a while. http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/index.php/products/mechanical-keyboard/wasd-v2-87-key-custom-mechanical-keyboard.html

Hey all, I currently have a Corsair K70 with Cherry MX Red switches. This is my first mechanical keyboard and I took a bit of a gamble with the switches and after nearly a year of use I've found that Reds aren't for me. I find them way too light. I've used a friends keyboard with Blues and found that I much preferred them for typing, programming and even gaming (Except for games like Hotline Miami I guess  ) So I considered getting a new keyboard to change things up a bit. I've been eyeing up a WASD V2 Keyboard for these past few days. I like the simplistic look and how you can customise it entirely. However, I'd miss the metal construction and the freaking awesome volume scroller on my current K70. How are WASD V2 keyboards exactly in terms of quality? I'm looking for a keyboard like this: Simplistic look Sturdy build (Not necessarily metallic) Quality keycaps (Long lasting, print won't wear quickly) Not overly "Blocky". I prefer a thinner, cleaner look to a board Preferably removable cable (I wish to customise it) has a Cherry MX Blue switch version Full keyboard layout w/ Numpad (Preferably ISO) Other little bonuses like volume scrollers or backlighting are cool but I can really live without. How do WASD V2 Keyboards hold up to these wishes? Are they any good? If not can you suggest any other mechanical keyboard that fit the criteria? Thanks in advance guys!

So after searching through hundreds of sites, and emailing 8 different stores and one distributor i am nearly about to cave in and give up on my venture of trying to acquire a ducky premier keyboard.. That is unless anyone here has some incredibly helpful advice or source? I am contemplating if i should soon consider another option, i thought i might buy this guy: http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/index.php/products/mechanical-keyboard/wasd-v2-104-key-barebones-mechanical-keyboard.html The barebones keyboard from WASD. Then buy some PBT key caps separately on the side + a Wrist rest, my question is how the frame and overall quality of the WASD keyboard would compare to the ducky premier? or just how solid WASD keyboards are in general. And how would i be certain that the PBT caps i purchase would fit? except just buying PBT caps for a 104 key layout, i have seen people having problems with differently sized spacebars for example.

Over the past few months, I've largely pondered the idea of getting a mechanical keyboard. After some research and relating some of my work and home typing experiences (I tend to put a lot of force in my typing while also wanting to feel and hear the key presses. Yes, I took the quiz also), I've come to the conclusion that I would most appreciate a Cherry MX Green mechanical keyboard. Money isn't an issue seeing as the purchase will happen only 1-6 months from now and I happen to have a good amount of scratch saved up. That being said, I've looked through a lot of choices and I quite like what I see from both Ducky and WASD. That said, which one would you suggest I pick? Basically, this would be a choice between custom-colored keycaps (Could someone confirm if modding the keycap colors on the WASD V2 104-Key version come at an extra cost?) or backlighting within the Red/Blue/Purple Spectrum (Looking at the Shine 4), seeing as both make durable and good quality mech keyboards.

I'm looking for a new mechanical keyboard and I was just hoping to get some suggestions for some of the best built keyboards on the market. I mostly prefer cherry mx blue/clear switches and I will probably switch the keycaps out for some more durable PBT caps. ~KyleJScott P.S. I've heard that Corsair, Das Keyboard, Ducky, and WASD make great keyboards. Which one out of these companies do you think make the best in terms of quality?

WASD lets you custom print an image onto your keycaps (one image over all of them), anyone here done it or something similar, what would you say of the quality? http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/index.php/gallery

Hello again. So I would like to make a custom key cap set. The problem is that I live in Northern Europe so I believe that WASDkeyboards won't ship there. So is there any alternative sites where you can make your own key cap set that could ship to Finland? Thanks.
-
Hey all, I've been looking casually for some random stuff to customize my setup and recently became fixated on keycaps. If I want custom keycap graphics like this do I really have to pay WASD $10.00 each or is there an alternative? I've found other 'custom' keycaps, but WASD seems to be the only place that lets you upload your own images.

My WASD Keyboard CODE 87 arrived today in a shipping box suitable for full-sized keyboards, complete with pink packing peanuts! Its product packaging is a very simple waxy white cardboard deal with only the definition of "code" printed on the top. Inside is a key cap puller, a Micro-B USB cable, PS/2 adapter, dip switch guide, and of course, the keyboard. I've been using a Filco Majestouch Tenkeyless with Cherry MX Brown switches for a few years, so this is a bit of a size comparison between the two. The CODE is slightly larger and heavier (960 grams without cable vs. Filco's 952 grams with cable). Its case is more angular and sharp compared to the Filco and has a leathery textured feel to its plastic instead of the standard smoothness. There is no visible branding and the caps and scroll lock indicators are pin holes with a white LED - they assume you're able to figure out which is which. The feet were extremely grippy on my glass desk, so much so that I can use the keyboard as a brace to push myself away from the desk in an office chair on carpet. I don't plan on making a habit out of doing it, but it can be done! Moving on to key caps - Filco on left, CODE on right: Obviously we're dealing with back lighting here, so the CODE uses translucent ABS. I had heard some horror stories regarding WASD key caps so I was prepared for the worst. My only real complaint when compared to the Filco key caps would be the mold edges that were not filed down. Normally I couldn't care less, but those nasty little bits are plainly visible against the white back lighting. Speaking of back lighting, there are 7 grades: http://youtu.be/ZuIyleqxo7U Personally, I probably won't use the back lighting, and I could only tolerate up to about 3/7 with it on before noticing it shine off nearby glossy plastics and/or glass. Dip switch 6 must be ON for the LED ON/OFF and toggle functions to work, and the keyboard must not be powered to adjust dip switches. I was under my desk fiddling with the cable when I realized it probably would have been easier to just remove the other end at the keyboard. Yes, this is my first keyboard with a detachable cable. I think I'll enjoy it provided I remember I have the option. "It's a damn keyboard, we get it, how do the bloody switches perform?!" I was excited to try the Cherry MX Clears. Browns are (were? ) currently my favorite, and hearing that Clears were just stiffer Browns had me interested. After typing on them for only a couple hours, I would say they are a very different experience from Browns. The tactile bump is far more pronounced than Browns, I was very aware of the actuation point - more of a "HERE IT IS" compared to the Browns' "THERE IT WAS" if that makes sense, enabling me to touch type and not bottom out much easier. That makes this a quieter keyboard than my Filco. I can still bottom out and make it noisy as hell, but I don't - the springs are too heavy post-actuation to comfortably allow it. Typing with Clears feels great. If you're somewhat ham-fisted like I am, but still want to learn to properly touch type with a mechanical keyboard, these are the best way to do it in my experience. Gaming probably won't feel very good. The springs are just too heavy. For frequent bottoming out, you're better off sticking with Reds. Another reason I decided to go with the CODE was its on-board support for the Colemak layout. It's something I'm interested in trying in addition to the touch typing experience. Here's where a big criticism of the keyboard comes in: http://youtu.be/MtyCmuKr5ZA The right shift key is ridiculously squeaky. Thankfully this was the only affected key. I had read others' accounts of squeaky keys like this, but was crossing my fingers for no issues. I rarely use the right shift key right now, but practicing proper typing is going to be quite annoying with it like that. I'm a bit OCD too, so just knowing the problem exists bugs me. For the US$162.86 it cost me including shipping, I expect a higher level of quality control. QC issues aside, this is a solid keyboard that offers an excellent typing experience with its Cherry MX Clear switches. Are Clears worth all the hype? From a brief experience, I would say so. If Clears pique your interest, would you be better served by a more basic keyboard with less to go wrong and tighter QC? Possibly. But for my unique desires, the CODE checked all the boxes and I'm very pleased. Thanks for reading.

So I was wondering about this for a while and I just wanted to see your guys input and say about this,So typing we all do it. But how do you do it what letters on the keyboard do you start on before you start typing. Example:I start out on wasd for my left hand with my pinky on shift and my left thumb on space bar my right hand my left hand on ji and enter. This is kind of strange in comparison to the "Home Keys" which they teach you which are these http://www.typing-lessons.org/lesson_1.html. For me these are so hard to type with starting out I guess I type in a strange way,But that doesn't matter how do you type!

When playing games such as tf2 or minecraft or even bf3 i get an issue with my keyboard. The W key or any other key in the WASD area stops working as i press it as long as I'm holding W or S while I use it. It's getting annoying. Anyone know a way to fix it? This keyboard was given to me by a friend and was literally brand new from the box.
