Do mirrors block Wi-Fi? As in if you have an AP, a non drywall wall with mirrors ( and a 55 inch tv) on the side of the AP, will the Wi-Fi in the room on the other side of the wall be bad?

So I have a very solid Telekom Internet connection at like 100 Mbps at my restaurant, which is about 450 feet or 150 meters away from my home, so it would be great if i could get the connection to my home, but aside from the distance there are also quite a few buildings in between. What would you recommend for this scenario, if anything? PS : I live in Germany

So I need some advice for my networking solution at my house. In the image you can see my house, simply drawn. It is in fact a lot bigger though. The green wire is the coaxial cable coming directly out of the street. PT 1 is the provided modem/router/AP/switch provided by the ISP which sits in the basement. PT 2 is a Netgear R7000 router configured as an access point. All the red wires are ethernet cables. I have also labeled the PCs with a number. Situation now At the moment I have two PCs (1 and 2) directly connected to the router (PT 1), which is a Cisco unit provided by the ISP. It has WiFi built-in but I have disabled that due to it not working well with the WiFi of the Netgear. I have 2 PCs and 2 printers connected to the Netgear access point. What I want and questions There are two things I want: I want to connect the 2 PCs (1 and 2) and the NAS from the attic to the internet with ethernet. As the Netgear doesn't have enough ports, I need a (bigger than the built-in) switch. I was thinking of the Netgear ProSafe GS116 (16 ports, gigabit). I am not sure about the speeds though. I know the single ethernet cable between the switch and the access point won't limit the speeds between the connected devices nor the speed to the internet, but won't the connection to the wireless devices on the Netgear be slower, since that single ethernet cable is still only gigabit speed? My internet speed is 150 Mbits download and 15 upload. Let's say I am using all of that speed on computer 4 which would be connected to the switch and I am transferring files between my laptop (connected to the WiFi) and my NAS at 950 Mbits. The ethernet connecting the switch and access point then has to carry 150 + 950 = 1100 Mbits, which is more than 1 gigabit! Correct me if I am wrong, but won't the connection then be slower or what? And then the question finally, how can I fix this? I want to be able to manage the 2 PCs that are now connected directly to the router (1 and 2) with the software of the Netgear. With that software I can not only block devices from the network, but also block websites for example. Everything that is connected to the Netgear shows up in the software, so PC 1 and 2 don't. Does this mean I have to configure PT 2 back to its original function, as a router, make PT 1 behave as a modem and run PC 1 and 2 with ethernet to the Netgear? Please let me know if you have any ideas to solve these problems, and/or tips to improve my network. Also, correct me if any of my statements are wrong or/and if you don't understand what I want. Hey everybody, I'm trying to get my Wi-Fi at home to extend coverage to the majority of my backyard so I'm currently looking at getting a Asus RP-AC68U to extend my signal. I currently have an Asus RT-AC66U router and it does a great job on its own at covering my 2 story home but the backyard has very bad coverage so I want get good coverage for about 35ft back enough to stream music and 1080p video from YouTube not like 4k streaming or gaming or anything heavy! I have a couple questions before going out and buying that unit and whether or not going this route is even the best option. First question! If I buy the RP-AC68U will it act as it's own router with it's own SSID/Password etc... by default? or will it just repeat the signal and act as a "dumb" secondary access point not handling IP assigning etc...? I want this unit to act as a secondary access point so when you're far enough away from the Router it'll auto connect to the that access point if it has a better signal than the router. I don't want it to be assigning IPs on its own and acting as a stand-alone router, I'd like the router to handle all that if possible. So just want to make sure this unit is capable of doing that, and if I have to change a whole bunch of settings if there is a guide or somebody can briefly explain what I'd need to do to set that up! I'm not terrible at networking so a brief explanation should be enough for me to figure it out should I need to do that! Second question! How badly will a exterior wall affect the signal strength of the unit? I live in Canada so our exterior walls are well insulated, As well the house is newer so it uses a mixture of wood and metal in the wall structure and we have quite a bit of window area where I'll be placing the unit should I get it. I'd place it around 2ft away from a very large thick glass patio door. Which just past that door is the point where the coverage gets bad. Will that positioning pose any issues? Will the walls interfere that much? Lastly I guess is the RP-AC68U a good choice? I'd like to stick with Asus because my whole network uses their gear as well as to avoid ANY incompatibilities even if there isn't much chance for it. Thanks in advance!
