Hi there, I currently have LG 24MK600M 24 inch IPS monitor(https://www.lg.com/hk_en/monitor/lg-24MK600M). This is my first IPS panel monitor. However I see that it's casuing eye strain. The display is good but it looks more in contrast and rich. I've used blue filter and etc but still after I use for like 2-3 hours and my eyes are red. I'm planning to switch from Samsung VA panel (https://www.samsung.com/in/monitors/curved-cf390/LC24F390FHWXXL/). Is it advisable? It looks like IPS is still LCD and I want to move from LED. let me know your thoughts on this. Thanks.

I'm just wondering, many budget curved monitors are using VA panel which known as "high input lag, and long response time" and they still feature 144Hz refresh rate. which doesn't make sense on the paper because the response time is way too high to handle the 144Hz refresh rate. I wanna get a curved monitor, but I can't afford the 144Hz IPS so, is 144Hz VA good or bullshit?

I've got this monitor http://www.samsung.com/us/computing/monitors/curved/29-ultra-wide-curved-screen-monitor-ls29e790cns-za/ and every time i overclock it to anything above 60hz, it looks like its dropping alot of frames. By that i mean 60hz looks alot smoother than 86hz, im wondering if theres a solution to this?

Im planning to do a PC build but want to get a good monitor for content and gaming for =< 200£. In my understanding the middle ground is VA panel monitors since you get decent colors, contrast, viewing angles + high refresh rates and low latency that normally comes with TN panels and I am not willing to spend 300£ or more for IPS panel that maybe has all of that. Give some ideas and thoughts. My options so far: AOC C24G1 MSI Optix MAG241C Acer ED242QRA

Given a choice between a IPS panel with Hdr and 60hz and a VA panel with no hdr but 144hz refresh rate, which would you pick for gaming. All other characteristics remaining same as far as the monitor goes.

Well as the title indicates i am trying to figure out which ultrawide i should buy. I really really like the Benq ex3501r mostly because of Benq(but please feel free to convince that it is not my best option or a good option at all) and because it meets my requirements but of course i am open to suggestions. What i am looking for: 32"-35" (inches),3440x1440 resolution, curved, VA panel(i am a bit open to IPS but not preferable), at least 100 Hz and Freesync because of AMD new cards waiting(currently i have a 1070 but please do not suggest gsync monitors), budget <=800 €. What i am doing on my pc. Currently i have 2 displays a 22" IPS(LG) and an amazing 19" TN(LG L1900R). I code a lot, i am watching movies and i am gaming. I will also hold up to the old TN as a second monitor. The IPS is going to an another desktop i have, so i am not selling them to extend my budget. Note that some brands cannot be found in Greece or in Europe generally. I can order anything that can be found in Amazon UK. Thank you,

Hello! So recently I purchased the MSI Optix G27C2 monitor to replace my Benq XL2411Z. My Benq monitor has treated me well as a 144hz competitive gaming monitor, but in terms of color it fell short. I decided to upgrade to a VA panel monitor because I heard that they can have better colors than IPS panels and similar refresh rates to TN panels. So far, my new monitor has been great! Better colors, 144hz, bigger screen, and the curve is really nice. However, there are a few issues I've been having and I'm not sure whether these issues are specific to my monitor, this model of monitor, or VA panels as a whole. The issues are: The display is very dark. It's not at the point where I can't see anything, but I have trouble seeing things in dark areas of games. Do VA panels usually not have good backlighting? Everything feels a little bit fuzzy. I'm the kind of person to turn off all blur effects and anti aliasing because I just can't stand it when things don't look clear. However, when I'm playing games like csgo, the game feels so much more clear on my old monitor. I'm not sure what would cause this, but it very well may be a consequence of problem #3. I'm seeing some strange artifacts near dark objects. I'm sure that this problem is present on some level everywhere I look, but there is one place where I can very easily see, isolate, and describe what the issue is. Here is a small imgur album with pictures showing off the issue: https://imgur.com/a/08CE0O As you can see, whenever my dark crosshair is over a dark surface, there is a strange black line that appears over my crosshair. It may only be one pixel thick, but that is very noticeable when your crosshair is only 4 pixels thick. Assuming that this issue occurs every time two similar colors come together on my screen, then it could explain why things look fuzzy as described in issue #2 In general, if someone could help identify and name all of the issues I'm having then I will be able to start doing some more research on my own, which would be awesome. However, I also have a few other specific questions. I heard that, contrary to the G27C2, the MAG27C has good backlighting to it. However, I can't find any definitive answers on the MSI website. Does anybody know for sure if this is true, or if this monitor would solve any of my other issues? I have the newegg protection plan and the price is similar to the monitor I got, so I can trade it out if it seems like it would fix any of my issues described above. Two of my friends upgraded to VA panels before I did and they both got https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA85V7VY1353 (or at least an older version of this one.) They both have had a lot of issues with the monitor breaking and bad customer support, which led me to want to stay away from Samsung. Does Samsung have a bad history with this kind of stuff, or are my friends just exceptions? Would their monitor fix any of my issues? I appreciate the help guys. Hopefully you all can help me fix the issues and get my money's worth.

Heylo LTTians. Just have to get this out, finally saw Linus' pink Honda and had a photo op at the memory express opening at Vanvouver. Whee! Moving on.. so I'm looking to get myself a good monitor. I am definitely looking for a 2k/1440p monitor something with over 100hz refresh rate. 1-5ms response time as well as a low latency. I'm looking at grabbing hold of a VA or IPS panel as I currently have a dell Inspiron 15 7567 laptop and even though the IPS on that isn't great it's better than the TN panels I've used before so would like to get a better quality panel. I prefer sticking to the 16:9 aspect ratio. Ultra widescreen has never really been my thing. A serious contender for me is the MSI OPTIX MPG27CQ - https://m.newegg.ca/products/N82E16824475014?ignorebbr=true&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwordsCA-Mobile&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwordsCA-Mobile-_-pla-_-Monitors+-+LCD+Flat+Panel-_-N82E16824475014&gclid=Cj0KCQjwjtLZBRDLARIsAKT6fXy4NOgbXDdjFBXymFVN-lsbcNyz6SKKYx_xkwdmcPovxvYcnbyL-N0aAu4mEALw_wcB Any more recos? I'm trying to keep it under CAD $750 so I'll be looking out for second hand monitors as well from the predator and Rog series. Please help.

This is such a nice combination of various feature sets, from different types of the best monitors out there. You are getting what is essentially two 2560x1440 monitors side by side in one package. It's 921,600 pixels less than a 4K monitor, therefore it should be easier to push those high frame rates in many games comparatively. Combined with the 120Hz refresh rate, FreeSync (G-Sync Compatible), and its overall size; you are looking at a seriously immersive experience for long gaming sessions. Sadly, pricing is currently unknown, as are the release dates for the US and EU.

Greetings, Recently, a mod for The Witcher 3 (www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/23/) wasn't looking quite right on my display, and the FAQ listed an improperly-calibrated display as a possible issue. However, after following Windows' built-in calibration wizard, I couldn't for the life of me find a setting that matched those recommended on the mod page, one that didn't have a strange tint to everything, or one that didn't hurt my eyes to look at. Does anyone have experience with calibrating VA panels or, even better, this display in particular? I can't afford a calibration tool like the ones Spyder makes, or anything of the sort. Thanks, Aereldor.

Hi, I'm looking for a new gaming monitor but I can't decide which one to buy. I'm looking for a monitor with very specific features and specs but I'm having trouble finding a good answer. What I am looking for is a monitor with a 144hz refresh rate, is no bigger than 24" and has good colours and strong blacks. My current monitor is an ASUS VG248QE 24in Widescreen 144hz 3D. I've had it for several years now and the refresh rate is the only reason I haven't ditched it yet. I am not happy with how bright and washed out the image quality gets when 144hz mode is enabled. I have to heavily modify my Nvidia control panel to get the image even remotely desirable and it's quite frustrating. I tend to play all sorts of games but my favourite genre is single player horror. Horror games typically have lots of black on the screen for dark areas and such, but with this monitor the black is really grey, it looks washed out, you can see pixels and little squares in the shadows edges and stuff. It just doesn't look good enough to me. So I have decided I am sick of it and I'm looking for a change. So as I said I am looking for a monitor that is 144hz (#1 priorty) and has strong, vibrant colours with deep blacks. The only monitor I have been able to find so far is the BenQ XR3501 which is a va panel and I know va panel monitors have very good blacks. This monitor is also 144hz. The only problem is that the monitor is very, VERY wide. 35" wide in fact with a resolution of 2560x1080. That's just too big for me. So can anyone else recommend a monitor that comes to close? Thank you.

Eizo has announced a display which updates at 240Hz, the Duravision FDF2405W It doesn't actually accept 240Hz input, instead, it just converts 120Hz signals to 240Hz which should help reduce ghosting and blurring. They this "greatly improves sharpness and visibility and reduces eye fatigue that occurs when viewing scrolling or moving images." Unlike most other TN based 120Hz/144Hz monitors this is actually aimed at displaying satellite images rather than gaming, although the VA panel does make it an interesting proposition for gaming too. That said the price is expected to be high especially since it has special features for the application it's aimed for. The display also supports 10-bit colour over DisplayPort and 8-bit colour over DVI, viewing angles are at 176°, the resolution is 1080p with 23.5" diagonal. Eizo is a company known for making high-quality computer monitors aimed at professional users and the medical industry. The company has announced a new 23.5-inch gaming monitor called the Foris FG2421. The manufacturer claims this is the first monitor aimed at gamers to feature a 240 Hz refresh rate. The FG2421 promises low input lag and a number of preset gaming modes developed in cooperation with professional gamers making the monitor ideal for video games with fast action such as shooters, racing games, fighting games, and more. The display has a feature called Turbo 240 allowing it to support a 240 Hz refresh rate, that’s double the typical 120 Hz refresh rate normally found on gaming displays. Eizo says the monitor is able to convert 120 Hz signals to 240 Hz by controlling the blinking of the LED backlight using its Turbo 240 technology. The monitor also promises a response time of less than 1 ms providing smooth image playback. The display also uses a vertical alignment LCD panel providing wide viewing angles of 176-degrees and a native contrast ratio of 5000:1. The native resolution of the screen is 1920 x 1080. Eizo says that high contrast ratio provides increased visibility in dark areas making it easier to spot enemies. The monitor has two different color modes with one aimed at first-person shooter games and the other a real-time strategy games. The screen includes multiple connectivity options with HDMI, DisplayPort, and DVI-D connectivity. It also has integrated USB hub with one upstream port and two downstream ports. The Foris FG2421 is available now at an undisclosed price. This seems to be actually a product. Can you imagine 3D 120hz gaming at 1080p with excellent viewing angles? Is it april fools or something?
