So I don’t know how many people join this site on a daily basis, but considering how close the forum is to 1,000,000 users, do you guys think it’s possible to reach that number by the end of the year?

So today i was trying to go through the task manager and see what programs are running and what really caught my eye is the DWM-1 process or the dwm.exe, which i couldn't identify at first but than of course i tried to end the process but no luck. It wouldn't stop neither when i tried to change the priority it said i needed administrator to do that?! Has anyone experienced this yet in the newest update from windows 10 pro? I also read that this process is a second logged in user, like a school or work account but tbh i only have a school account which i do not use a second user in windows. So whenever i try to end the process it wont end and also uses a lot of RAM. Does or has anyone else experienced this if yes i need someone to tell me how tf to end it and i also noticed that there is a virtual HDD, which i did not create but i did try to check on how to. I think someone is watching my screen like team-viewer but lol with ip address and mac address... if you know how it works lol. I would really like to get an explanation on whatever the hell is this process doing and what caused it to run! Also here a picture of the process!

Summary 22 January 2022, Roblox went down for some users due to the large number of users. Quotes from Twitter posts: My thoughts Knowing how some other companies utilize cloud resources and scale, is it just me or 6.8 million does not look like so big of a number anymore. Probably not the whole system but some specific games like mentioned Pet Simulator X had "too many" users. I think I read somewhere that it was the highest number of users since August 2021, but I cannot find the quote anymore. It would be interesting to know what actually had happened and where the bottleneck was from the architectural and technical point of views if someone has more information about the incident. Yes he does use two separate drives both installed with windows, one for work, one for games, however he installs his games on both so there is no point to what he did. Is there anyway to safely combine them into two users on one operating system so that he can save more storage? Edit: yes they are both windows, not even a different OS -
In my organization, we have one computer that is on our Active Directory, but whenever a user logs in, it fails to login and says that it failed to login, and it created a temporary account. Is there a way to stop it from doing this, preferably without having to reimage it? -
The geforce experience overlay (alt+z) only works on the first windows user to logon, for the second user it will not work, if I enter geforce experience and click the share button it will give an error "cannot open share". I went to task scheduler and modified all nvidia tasks to run only on my account, I thought this could solve the problem but it didn't. Any ideas? This is very annoying, because I'm the only one who uses geforce experience and i have to be the first to logon every day, if not, I'm forced to restart the computer to use the overlay. -
Lately I've been noticing that my ssd's storage is almost full and today I took it upon myself to clear some stuff up uninstall useless apps or just the ones I dont use anymore. The thing is my ssd is 250gb (231 usable gb) and it says that I have 60 gb free. When I open it up and calculate every thing apart from both Program Files folders, Windows and Users, it's only 1gb. Then there's the program files that occupie 8 and 61, as expected. But then there's users that is 53gb! Yet when I open it up (and open the folder with my name), and select everything its only 22gb. I suppose that there are files I cant see with the explorer but is there anyway I can delete them or download a program to see them? Yes Im am farely new to Windows and there are still some things that I dont quite get... Another quick question I have is if in "Programs and Features" there is a way to see on what hard drive they are installed on? Thanks in advanced!

Hi everyone, I'm basically in a lab environment right now practicing using Active Directory. I have a server running Windows Small Business Server 2011 and have 3 workstations. How do I associate the users and computer accounts I've made on the server Active Directory with the workstations? I created all 3 computer accounts, and all 3 user accounts. We have computers 1, 2, and 3 and users A, B, and C. Pretty new to this, so thank you for any help you can give. -
Hi Guys! We are about to move from being mostly Mac-users at my company, to buying new windows 10 based laptops. The issue i am having is with samba login. In Macs file manager i have an option to switch which user i am logged in as on my samba share. A little button that says "Connect as..." This is a very important choice to have, as most of our users are only guest-accounts, and the IT-admins have user-accounts to access software shares. The guest users are students and are not supposed to have access to the software share. The problem is that i cannot find a simple solution to this problem on windows. Linux and Mac work fine. I know about the CMD solution to unmount with a command and then mount with another command. This to me is an unnecessary complicated process, when i know that SHOULD be possible to just have the simple function. I have googled and tested various file managers for windows, but no one had the function i am looking for. Help me please! Kind regards, Will

Hello everyone. Since I found no answer in the interwebs and this forum yet I hope to find an answer now. Here a description of our situation: 1. ISP modem in bridge mode (Because we need more than one public IP) Connect Box for UPC - cbn ch7465lg-lc 2. TL-WDR4300 3. Zy-Xel GS 108 B Switch. Why a switch? Because we have to! No direct connections to the router possible due to long distance. 4. PC's We are 3 guys in the same flat and want to play the same games at the same time every now and then. For example ArmA 3 Battlefield series, CoD series, Rainbow Six Siege etc. The problem is that often we can't join the same lobby/server or after some minutes at least one person gets kicked or times out. I know this is probably because of the ports. I already made static IP's for each pc, changed the userports in the game properties, but it's a whole bunch of really annoying work to to that stuff for every game. I usually used the fuction "virtual server" on the router to forward the ports. But there also is a function called "port trigger" which, as far as I understood, makes an own connection with a user when a certain port is triggered. Which means no problems while gaming even with no forwarded ports or custom userports of the games. Sadly our router only has 20 slots available for this function and it does not support the amount of games we used to play together since some games already need several slots. Now my real questions about this are: - Can anyone explain me how networking works to understand what's really needed and what's not? - Do I do unnessecarry things in my setup? - Do I just need an other router? Are there routers with more than 20 slots to trigger ports to make life easier? - Is there just no other solution than the annoying port forwarding? - And last but not least: Why the hell isn't it possible with the current state of technology to play a game with 2 or more players at the same time without any problems? I really hope I'll find some answers in here or at least some helpfull tips to get slightly in the direction of what I could do to make the situation better. Greez Consi

I recently activated my mother computer with a new Windows 10 code, and in the process it asked for an email. I didnt realize what i had done and I put my Email there instead of my mothers, is there a way to do a switchero and put hers there instead of mine?

Hello I have a problem on ubuntu server with group and owner permissions of a directory I have 3 users mat,Brandon,kylian I have the folders /servers/mmtp /servers/Brandon Now I set the home directory from mat to /servers/mmtp and the home directory from Brandon to /servers/Brandon I also made the groups mmtp and Brandon I have set the folder /servers/mmtp to owner kylian and group mmtp same for the /servers/Brandon owner is kylian and group is Brandon wen ever I set the permissions from these 2 directory's to 0755 both users can access edit and delete all files in each directory I want it so kylian can access everything and mat can access /servers/mmtp and Brandon /servers/Brandon but not each others folder setting permissions 0755 will allow them to both edit the directory even though the groups and owner are correctly set

Hello, Im a big newbie to steam and was wondering about the steam market restriction. Steam says that to acces the market and send friend requests I have to have a purchase, I want to know if buying an item with a gift card can help remove that restriction. Like if I can ask my friend to give me a gift card and I buy stuff with it using my account, will it count as a valid steam purchase and help me access community market, send friend requests and all. Any help would be appreciated thanks. -
Hi! I’m currently working on a simple code that changes the way a website looks based on the age, sex, preferences. (i know this is not the best forum to put this but there are very nice people in here i trust) so, for example if you are 65 years old, text will become bigger, different products will be showed to you and the color style will change. by now it’s just a simple experiment i am doing with our current client database but i want to scale it. so for example if i publish the website and a new user comes in, i know i can read all the cookies id´s but then i don’t know how, or even if its possible to check on google analytics databases for a match of the cookie id or other services databases to get some information about the user. any ideas or clever way to achieve this? thanks in advance for the answers -
HI i have a family computer and i created 2 more accounts on it, 1 normal and 1 administrator, My problem is that all the accounts on it can see the files on the disk and delete it and i dont want that How can i solve this?

Hello Friends, This is my first post, so I'll try to follow the rules and explain my problem as much as I can... I want to play a game on my TV and at the same time being able to use the PC to web browsing and light photoshop editing on my monitor. I've got my monitor connected to the onboard graphics and the TV to the GPU, the issue is that while I'm playing (I use a Xbox One controller) the game won't take any commands from the controller if someone touches the keyboard or mouse, Windows changes focus to the monitor... I can't find a way to keep focus on two windows at the same time (Chrome and a game) or some application that could force and restrict the inputs from the keyboard and mouse to the monitor and the inputs from the controller to the game (by the way I'm trying to play Dark Souls Remastered). I've searched and to my knowledge is almost imposible to do this without some kind of Virtual Machine or unRAID. I think that some kind of multiple users option would be amazing for Windows 10, more now than ever since we are getting CPUs with plenty of cores (With a Threadripper 2 32 cores for example). If anyone has any idea of how can I play while someone else is using the PC, I'll be gratefull. I hope my english wasn't that bad, I'm from Argentina (We speak spanish) so sorry for any grammatical error. Thanks in advance... Hello, I don't know wether I should be posting this here or in the Software thread, but I guess it makes more sense here. I've recently got a new SSD for my computer, since it was taking sometimes up to 5 minutes to boot and then another 5 to read everything on start-up. Problem is, once I booted, I soon realised that the process from moving to a HDD to a SSD wasn't that simple. I created a new user, tried to make it as close to the old one as possible, as I didn't know wether you could "import" users into the SSD without taking up all the ssd's space (for example having all my apps and prgrams on my desktop as I used to, without having to put them on the SSD). After this I tried to run Ableton Live (a music production program) and it wouldnt let me, and I figured it would be because of all the directory issues that could be happening. So, I have 2 questions: 1- Is there anyway of "importing" users to the SSD, assuring the fastest reading speed throughout Windows, but maintaining all my files on the HDD? 2- If not, how can I use apps that were once installed on the HDD (and I suppose they still are) without having to reinstall them on the SSD? I wondered if I could just create a shortcut on my desktop that would lead me into the installed program, but it shows me "can't run because mfc120u.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program could fix this problem" Thank you!

Hi all, I been researching this project for a while and just cant get anywhere. I currently have a website hosted on my windows server box which has a couple HTML 5 videos on it. I was wondering if there was any way that I could sync playback controls to multiple users on the website. For instance when one person presses play, it plays for everyone else on the website at the exact same time. Do you guys have any idea on how I could get this to work? Thanks for help in advance. I'm looking for something similar to http://sync-video.com/ but with videos that I host and own instead of some YouTube video.

Hi, I am getting a pc for work and it's got an ssd as a boot drive and a hdd for storage. I have an admin accoun't for me and the rest of the users have regular accounts. How can I do to allow the rest of the users to install programs but only on the hdd and not on the ssd? Thanks

How do I copy the user environment (e.g. desktop icons, background, and task bar colour) data from a PC running 32-bit (no idea if this matters) windows 7 home to a PC running 64-bit (again no idea if this matters) windows 7 professional. Any help is welcome.

first off great job with the site very clean and have had no issues accept for the fact that we used to be able to see every member but now we can only see online users. i need to message one of my friends who is offline now. is there any way to see all the users or only online users. Thanks
