Hi so i got a laptop that will not boot into windows at all it is a laptop of a friend, i do not know what he was doing before hand with the pc, but what i expect it to be is a corupted fille. Basicly the laptop will boot into its bios etc, but when booting further it is stuck at the prepairing automatic restore (its in dutch so exact translation), but the it gives a black screen then goes back to the prepairing automatic restore screen and repeats its self. Ive tried to boot in safe mode, by simply boot up, hold power button (abt 10 sec) and this for 2/3 times in a row which should boot up recovery mode, but NOTHING happens it just keeps booting into the prepairing automatic restore There are no hardware issues, ive checked this by the F2 boot up menu and have done a full scan of the CPU, batery, SSD and everything comes out fine. Only thing that wasn't checked was the RAM but i do not expect it to be the RAM or any hardware issue, but software. The laptop is a HP Pavilion 15 Help! NOTE: i am running another system test which is testing the RAM but takes acording to the laptop 2H to complete so have to have some patients and will search for some awnsers in the mean whille

So, I'm trying to take my old motherboard out of my case and replace it with a brand new one but, when I got to the last two screws holding it in place they spin and then click and don't loosen any farther. The standoffs aren't in a position to be able to get to them with pliers as the screws are in the middle of the board where my case has its structural unremovable metal plating. Please help asap

Computer won’t post at all. VGA LED is on and won’t go away. Computer was running fine until I cleaned it a few weeks ago and didn’t use it for about another week. When I tried to boot it, the system wouldn’t post. I have tried unplugging everything from the system and replugging which includes: two hard drives, an SSD, 2 system fans, CPU fan, front panel connector, CPU power, motherboard power, VGA power, HD audio, and still, no post.(I kept the CPU and NVME SSD in). I have tried two other video cards as well which includes my old MSI VENTUS 2060 6GB and my first R7 250 series. I have cleared the CMOS several times and I have even changed the 2032 battery. I have cleaned out the PCIE slots with blow off and I’ve even tried all three cards In both slots PCIE slots. Here is my system list: MSI B450 Tomahawk (not the MAX) 16GB Corsair Vengeance 3200MHz Ryzen 7 2700X MSI VENTUS 3060 12GB And now: EVGA 850GT 850W Gold Plus PSU

HELP!!!! MY ROG STRIX G17 (2021) faced a sudden death!!! This is my main work laptop WITH NO OTHER ALTERNATIVE and backup laptop. Data backed up so no worries in that BUT THE MACHINE STOPPED WORKING. No sign of life, No lights, Not booting even after battery disconnected and booting only on charger. Already reseated the Ram, ssds and wifi modules, also did a cooler mounting pressure check. Weird coincidence. 2 friends of mine faced the same issues. All of us have no warranty. I don't know what happened, can anyone please give me their takes on this!?!?. Could really use any fixes..!!!

Please restart or power cycle your system to fix this problem.) I've done so and no luck Also having issue with Gigabyte control center sometimes it won't let me select fan speed it normally works perfectly no issues but sometimes ill start my pc and play a game and have low fps due to ram then ill check bios and till be fine I would have to restart a few times before it works like normal (Ram goes from 32GB to 16GB) Specs i9 13900k, Gigabyte z790 DDR5 version, Gigabyte 4070TI, Vengeance DDR5 2x16GB, Samsung 970 EVO Plus & Samsung 970 EVO & 2x Kingston A400 , 1000 watt psu by corsair i dont remember the name Edit: added some more specs

I bought ASUS TUF Gaming A15 with the following specs recently, RAM :- 16GB DDR5 CPU :- AMD Ryzen 7-6800H GPU :- Nvidia RTX 3050Ti ; TGP:- 95W OS :- Windows 11 64bit Now, whenever I plug the charger in, I face heavy stuttering, FPS Drops, Wattage and Temperature drops while gaming in regular intervals of time. Whereas, while on Battery Power, My laptop works absolutely fine... This happens in all games too. I checked and there is no thermal throttling as the temperatures hardly touch 80 Celsius... I called an ASUS Onsite Engineer and all he did was thermal repasting and a factory reset... According to YouTube, Tinkering and setting a power plan should work but in my case, it resolves the problem only for one session of gaming and the issue persists when I boot the laptop the next day... I believe its not a hardware issue... Please Help me fix this guys...

I didn't really know what to put as the title so bear with me. I recently upgraded my motherboard along with a few other things like ram, and an AIO. After I got done I noticed it takes forever to load webpages or even just doesn't load at all. I'm wired getting 700 down and less than an MB upload speed. I've searched the internet, bought new ethernet, and tried so many things that just don't work. I eventually used Ookla instead of the normal Google and what I found was that my computer only has a problem with one specific wifi server but as soon as it uses an optimal server I get 800 down and 900 up. This would be fine if I could tell my computer to not use the worse server but it seems like it doesn't want to do that, so until I find a solution I'm stuck with insanely slow speeds.

Hello all, this is an urgent plea, as I need to set up a laptop for slideshow at an event by Tuesday. I have a USB stick with Slax installed from Universal USB installer. And I created a command to start feh with appropriate image folder (using the folder "slideshow" from the root of the USB stick) and options. The thing is, I need it to run automatically when the machine boots. I don't care whether the desktop is visible first or not, I just need it to work. I want to press the power button, it to load slax, and slax to auto launch feh for the slideshow. I have already tried to get help from ChatGPT (this quickly ended up going nowhere). I have the command currently in the ~/.config/autostart.sh file. and the file is executable. Any help is appreciated!

Hi all, I’m setting up my old pc (as I’ve upgraded) for my girlfriends birthday. It’s not been touched for about a month or two but never had any issues, I just wanted an upgrade. I added some storage since I transferred the old to my new build, but have now encountered an issue. When attempting to install windows at first, everything was fine - until windows needed to restart. After this, it tries to restart and I have no display output and a white VGA light. I can fix this with a menial restart (holding power button) and it comes back to life into the bios. However, every time I attempt to do a windows install now, I face the same issue. Every time the computer restarts, it won’t display and will give me the VGA error. specs x570f ROG STRIX Gaming ryzen 7 2700x Gigabyte 2070 32gb (8x4) Corsair vengeance RAM PSA. I have switched between monitors and hdmi/display ports and still the same issue. I have also cleared the cmos. EDIT: I have attempted flashing the bios now as well, with still the same issue. I have also checked to see if the GPU is detected by booting it connected to the pcie slot but with no power, my computer prompts me to plug the power cable into the GPU suggesting it is detected. growing ever confused about this, as the gpu clearly still works and is seated correctly, but unless it’s a manual restart, it won’t display anything. The biggest concern is that restarting from the bios also causes this issue. Would really appreciate any help because I want to get this sorted!

I just finished my new build, everything inside the case seems to work, but upon powering the system on, i'm met with this screen. I don't know what to do here. I'm using all new hardware, except for some fans from a prebuilt I had. I'm not reusing any storage, memory, mobo/cpu, nothing. I don't know what the recovery key mentioned refers to, and i've never used bitlocker. I technically still have my ryzen 5 2600 cpu, but its not compatible with this mobo, so I hope that's not necessary. I also have not yet installed windows 10. I did have the OS flashdrive plugged into the pc at the time that I booted the system, but as long as it doesn't automatically try to install windows, then that should remain true. Please let me know if there's any other info I can provide to help get this resolved, thanks!

help Threadripper Build - Totally not working and confused
itsSPECTOR posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Hi there folks, I'm an animator for a YouTube channel and deadlines are coming up on me quick. I'm totally stumped as to why my new build isn't preforming well and crashing. Here's the specs: CPU: AMD Threadripper 2950x 16 Core MoBo: x399 Taichi (Bios v3.9) RAM: 64GB G.SKILL TridentZ Series 3200mhz (8GBx8) GPU: RTX 3090 Founders Edition PSU: CORSAIR - RM Series 750W Storage: 2x M.2 1TB SSD's The problem: I edit/render in Adobe After after effects. Renders (with no OC of any type) can take over 20-40 hours for a moderately complex video. I've rendered identical projects faster on my previous build with a Ryzen 5 3600. So in efforts to speed up renders I looked to overclock - I initially tried the XMP 2.0 profile without any additional tweaks, and if I was even able to boot up the PC would BSOD when a render began. I thought maybe it was a voltage issue, so I went back, set my RAM speed to 3200mhz, and voltage to OC Mode and the PC wont boot. I tried some manual OC with Ryzen Master with essentially little to no difference in performance. Currently im running with no OC at all, and it says my RAM is at 1064mhz... I'm by no means an expert at this, but my gut tells me that's not right. Anyone, help plz?- 9 replies

I just upgraded my computer and now it freezes up still allowing my mouse to move. It says the Microsoft Windows application has stopped responding but won’t let me do anything until I use the power switch to turn on and off my pc. I’ve tried to do a system reset along with multiple troubleshooting and spc repairs but it refuses to do a reset as there is an error and the troubleshooting comes back clean. Any ideas?

Hello, my computer keeps blue screening with the error code 0x8080000000000000. I've done research on it and it says it's c++ related. I've done system scans in command prompt which fixed any currupted windows files. This is a clean install of windows 10, are these the correct c++ files? I can't do my school work so this is an urgent issue. Thank you in advance

Hi All, i have an interesting one for you today. I have asus FX505D that i opened up earlier to clean out the dust and grime it has accumulated. I disconnected the fans and cleaned them each, and then reassembled the laptop. It is not power cycling from i can tell. Power light is on, the power button and keyboard are lit up, but no display. It currently just ramps up its fan and stops, then repeats. so far i have soft reset it, hard reset it, with a full battery disconnect, double checked all of the connections inside and reseated any i unplugged. and nothing. I have connected to an external display and no output. Which leads me to believe that it is not the display, or the gpu. i read as much as i could find, and none of the solutions the suggested worked. The only thing i have not done is remove the cmos battery as that would require a full teardown, and that seems like setting it up for more to go wrong. Any help is really appreciated im really at a loss here

Hi all, I need to transport my PC across the U.S. and unfortunately, it cannot come with me on my flight. I have a general idea of what to do from a few hours of watching videos and browsing forum answers online, so I'd rate my chances of doing this correctly without any input at about 85%. Because of this, I didn't think to make a forum post myself until 4 days before my flight, giving me a pretty small window to make changes to my gung-ho plan. To make worsen matters, though, I made the mistake of tossing the packaging my case came in (Rookie mistake, this is my first PC.) I'm planning on mailing via UPS and letting them pack the box so that I can just insure it, but I have a few questions. First of all, my CPU fan and GPU are rather large, so I'm planning on removing those and packing them with me as carry-on items (I have some anti-static bags I can use.) What other components, which I listed below, should I remove and carry on my person? Which components, of the ones removed, need to be in the anti-static packaging? I've tried looking online for info on shipping, but every answer involves using expanding packing foam which I physically cannot get my hands on where I live (rural af and not spending $400 for an industrial crate of the stuff from Amazon.) I also included a picture of the interior, since i think it's relevant: most of the internals are pretty tightly packed in their own compartments, thanks to the case. Not sure how much that affects this process. I appreciate that this is far from the ideal shipping situation, so I'm gonna pre-jack a few questions I feel may pop up. -No, it is not possible for me to drive and carry the PC myself, my car is already across the country and I can't take a week to get there. -Again, I can't spend $400 for the only available expanding foam on Amazon -I AM willing to pay extra for a wooden crate, IF you guys deem it necessary/recommended -I AM willing to admit defeat if there's no chance I can go through acceptably safe procedures by Sunday, January 16th. WITH ALL THAT being said, here's the parts list. Anything I'm totally unsure whether to remove or keep in, I marked with an asterisk (*). Two asterisks (**) denote something I'm almost positive has to be removed before shipping. - NZXT H510 Elite case * - MSi MPG X570 Carbon w/WiFi motherboard - AMD Ryzen 9 3900X ** - Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 fan ** - EVGA RTX 2070 - 2 sticks of 16GB Crucial RAM * - one Seagate SATA hard drive - Seagate SSD * - HIVE 850s power supply Very sorry for the lengthy post, I'm just a bit paranoid about the whole process since I know I'm not doing anything in the "ideal" way. If you happen to read through all of this and offer any advice, I thank you deeply. Have a lovely day!

So I just finished one of my many builds, I booted it up and installed windows 10 successfully but while downloading drivers the PC, BSOD keeps coming up. At first I thought it was the driver issues because it's a new build after all, but BSOD happens so frequently that it made it hard for me to install the drivers, when all drivers were finished it was time for the graphics driver, it keeps giving BSOD while downloading the drivers from GeForce experience and when it finally stated that it was finished downloading, the option for new driver installation is still there, like as if nothing was installed. The next day when I got back to trying to figure out what's wrong with the drivers, the screen suddenly turns full red midway through and I was forced to force shut down it, but when trying to boot it back up again, this time the GPU stopped working. The fans and lights on the GPU will both work for about 5 seconds and the lights on the gpu will turn off and no display will show while the fans still spins, there is an output from the DP port but it just shows a black screen with occasionally flickering (video tagged) For my build everything is new except for the GPU which was used. But before building up the rig, I've already stress tested the GPU using 3DMark timespy and it passed the test without any issues. Here's the list of all my components (New) I5 12400F (Used) ZOTAC GTX1080 mini (New) MSI B660M Mortar Wifi (New) Klevv Crass X RGB 8x2GB 3600Mhz (New) Lexar NM620 256Gb (New) FSP HV PRO 650w *The video I tagged in the post it after the GPU died and I'm testing it with the system that I originally stress tested it on, as you can see the GPU it's giving some sort of output but it's flickering Pls ask me about anything any help will be greatly appreciated VID_20220205_003021.mp4
