Specs: CPU: Intel Core i9-10900K 3.7 GHz 10-Core Processor GPU: MSI - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 12GB VENTUS 3X OC 12GB DDR6X Ram: G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 PSU: Corsair RM (2019) 850 W Fully Modular Storage: WD_BLACK SN750 1 TB M.2-2280 NVM I have the game on its highest settings possible except for Ray Tracing, I have it on "high" instead of "very high" and turned down the slider to "3" I believe. Don't get me wrong, the game runs and is mostly playable, I get around 90-110 fps, however, it suffers from crazy frame drops in open world, and often see it go down to 70-80 fps and sometimes 60 fps if depending on what's going on. When it's raining hard in open world, the game seriously chugs and goes down to 50~ fps and it drives me nuts. I know the game is specced to work great with an RTX 3080, so I figured an RTX 4070 would be perfectly fine. I'm not playing with DLSS 3 because I don't know what settings to use to make it work right as I get pretty bad ghosting whenever I use it. Any advice?

Yesterday, I booted my pc, after a while of browsing, it turned off suddenly and I immediately turned it on again. The lights were on, the fans were spinning everything seemed to be in order however, after a second of starting up it died and it happened every single time I tried. I started to troubleshoot my pc first in order for me to try and deduce as to which hardware might be at fault, I cleaned the pins for both my gpu and RAMS, unplug and plug the psu cables ensuring them that they are connected, reset CMOS. After doing all these, my pc was able to boot to desktop, however, it died again, and the cycle begin where I am not able to boot normally as it kept on dying after turning on for a few seconds. Take note that there are no overheating errors. I hypothesized that this might have something to do with either the RAMS, PSU, or Motherboard. First, I tried removing each ram trying out different slots, and I've noticed that when I use only on RAM, I am able to boot into desktop and won't crash as frequently, however, this is not the case when I use two RAMS at the same time. Also, the RAM must also be seated at a specific slot before it works. I'm really at my wits end here, I need your help in deducing if this has to do with the motherboard itself or the PSU, or something else. (and sorry for the grammar or there might be words/phrases that can be ambiguous, I'm typing so fast in case my desktop dies on me again :<)

troubleshoot I need help!!! Screen not displaying anything.
AnoyingSans posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Hi As the title says, my screen doesn't show anything while my PC is on. To give a bit of context, last night my PC got a BSoD, so I waited for it to shut down and went to sleep, this morning I went to turn it on to do my job and the PC started normally, the lights were on and the fans were spinning but the screen doesn't display anything. Since I'm using an HDMI to VGA adapter, this was normal, unplugging and plugging it again usually works, but not this time, the screen turns on but it just black, it detects the PC since it doesn't show the 'device not detected, check cable connection' text, the mouse and keyboard's lights are also on but when pressing the CAPS button I don't hear the beep. My specs are: Motherboard:MSI A320M-A Pro Graphic Card: GTX 1650. CPU: Ryzen 6 2600. And 16GB of RAM. Would be glad to get suggestions on what to do. Thanks in advanceiv widget. *Ignore the spoiler mark, I don't know how to delete it.-

Built PC for friend- B450 ASRock Legend Ryzen 3500x RX 580 4GB 16GBs 3200Mhz DDR4 600 or 650 watt? Seasonic PSU Put it all together no problems, installed Windows and it booted correct and everything. Give it to him and then starts the onslaught of problems. Day after putting it together and he takes it home - Everything boots but no signal to any monitor he tries, cable, etc. Day after this - RGB stops working on case fans When it arrives back to me - only 1 front fan turns on, second one and the back exhaust fan don't turn on, as well as CPU cooler fan. Immediately my mind runs to the CPU. Sure enough I replaced it with my spare AM4 CPU (I think its some sort of athlon) and fixes almost all the issues. However- now my problem is a boot loop that I cannot solve for the life of me. I have been narrowing it down and I think it is either the motherboard or psu- I just want to hear others thoughts on this. I have been knocking off more and more parts until it has now come to only the cpu, the cooler, the motherboard, case and PSU. I have removed RAM, storage, and GPU. It turns on for about 15 seconds or so, turns off, then rinse and repeat. Help is greatly appreciated!

Hello everyone, i build the PC myself. My specs: Ryzen 2700X Gigabyte B450 Aorus Pro (No WIfi) GSKILL DDR4 3200 MHz 32 GB (No XMP activated) Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1 TB Gigabyte Aorus 5700 XT Be quiet ! 650W PSU (dont know the exact model) Windows Version 20H2 (Build 19042.631) After about 1 year, I am encountering the weird behavior, that the computer randomly restarts itself. I do not get bluescreens or anything like that, I think it just power cycles. It does not matter what I am doing, reading a PDF or gaming. I ran Prime 95 and Furmark parallely multiple times for about 40 minutes and it did not crash. While it ran Prime95 and Furmark I checked HWMonitor for thermals and power issues, the CPU did not run hotter than 85°C but GPU memory temp was 103°C. However, i did not get any weird behavior or graphic artifacts. On other times I play an arbitrary game or browse the web or read a PDF and it restarts itself. What i already tried to solve the issues, in this order: Ran tests to verify that Windows installation is working properly. Reinstalled Windows. Bought new SSD (the one mentioned above). Reinstalled Windows. Set minimum power usage of CPU to 5% in the energy options. Installed new chipset drivers for CPU. Installed new drivers for GPU. Updated BIOs to newest version. Unplugged PC from power and other external hardware. Held power button for 60 seconds. Reseatted RAM and GPU. I tried finding errors listed in Windowds eventlogs. However, i cannot find the exact log, that tells me whats wrong. I checked a few log and goggled the error codes but could not find a solution. I do not know a lot about trouble shooting and where or how these logs are stored and how i could share them with you. I hope someone knows somehting about this issue or can help me somehow.

Hi, i finished my brand new pc this morning (Asus b550 a gaming, 64gb ddr4 3200 cl16, rtx 2070 and a r7 3800xt) when i turned it on, it didn't post, it showed the unicorn vomit and fans spinned, and this random orange led on my mobo next to "dram" tag but no post. After some research this means that it has some to do with my ram. I tried 7 different kits but still that damn led, swapped the CPU and GPU and tried the ram, still the same led. Then I put the original parts back in it and it magically turned on and could install windows. After 3 hours of installing drivers and game launchers, my pc wants to restart for icue to work. I restart an the damn led is back from the dead, and I literally smashed my mouse out of frustration. Please anyone who had or has this problem and was able to fix it, hook me up.

So I received a FTW3 3080 from a friend of mine because he just got a PNY 3090, I later go on and then insert said GPU into my system. (My system was working prior to this happening) And then after I insert it to start it up again and look at it. It was just unfunctional (as in videos) TLDR - new gpu went in pc, pc don't work, pc work with no gpu but pc dont work cause no gpu My system specs I7-10700KF (ripped from a prebuilt) ASRock Z490 pro4 a/c (ripped from a prebuilt so missing top nvme slot) TWIN FROZR RTX 2070 > upgrading to a FTW3 3080 Corsair CX750M 2x Samsung 500gb NVME Drives 2x 1TB HDD's 2x 1TB External HDD's These are in a streamable link since these are partially big files? And this is my first time posting on this site. 1. 2070 top pcie (Original gpu) https://streamable.com/77bj11 2. 2070 bottom pcie https://streamable.com/8rmvru 3. Clearing cmos and putting things in cmos - https://streamable.com/4f3f6w 2070 - https://streamable.com/b18lm8 3080 - https://streamable.com/q8ugcl 4. GPU not in pcie but powered + fans spun https://streamable.com/b33wjj After this point I don't really know what the issue really is. It's not a GPU/PSU issue I'd hope to believe and since the fans rotated for a little bit I don't think it's even more the PSU since the card was the 2070 and not the 3080. Even then I still don't really even know. 5. no GPU but pc boots https://streamable.com/nthxds As the usual PC boots but unlucky me, I don't have IGPU so I don't really get to see my pc (not that it really mattered since I don't have a GPU)

I'm new to the LTT forums so bear with me while I try to explain. My buddy was upgrading to a Ryzen based PC so he was selling his old parts to make some money back. I ended up buying his CPU, motherboard, and RAM combo for 300 bucks. Everything is fine with it except for the audio its sounds like some sort of TV static coming from the mobo, its not too loud but its really annoying with noise cancelling headphones. I ended up getting a soundcard thinking that that would be the end of it, but a few days later the static noise started to leak through again. I've tried messing with the drivers and re seating the soundcard, at this point I don't know what else to do to get clean audio out. If anyone knows what causes this or has any tips for what to try I am all ears. Thank you for reading my terrible writing and I'll post my hardware below this paragraph. What I bought from my buddy: I7 9700kf gigabyte z390 gaming x 32GB of corsair 3200mhz ram the soundcard is a Sound Blaster Audigy FX. Also I have a pair of BOSE qc25

I finally bought my very own first pc, but after almost 7 months I am having troubles. My pc suddenly goes to no signal when playing heavily, At first I suspect the "no signal" was caused by the graphics card, ever since I installed nanominer and mined for almost 1 month, it suddenly became this. I already performed a clean install of the nvidia driver and still nothing, always goes back to "no signal". Please, I would really appreciate any help. I am desperate P.S when it comes to playing I undervolt it to 65 - 66 C (1845 mhz for 856 mV using MSI afterburner) because when it hits 70C the "no signal" has a much faster prompt. Specs Ryzen 5 2600 MSI GTX 1660 B450M Mortar Max MOBO 16gb Gskill Ripjaw Gold-rated MSI 750 watt PSU PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME

The CPU has been posting L1 cache errors in the TrueNAS logs at the same memory address for 2 days, it had trouble posting in the past, but a power cycle usually got it through. This morning, after an unscheduled restart from the server, I power cycled it from S5 to access the BIOS and update it, and it never bame back alive. The board presents a beep code for no ram when no ram is installed, but doesn't make it past post. I have tried with spare corsair non-ecc memory sticks in all correct configurations, nothing makes it post. I'll try tomorrow with a 3600X I have laying around, but in your opinion is the motherboard dead or the CPU?

Bought new parts for my pc and ive been having issues so I'll keep it quick and list all the issues ive had and things ive done to ATTEMPT to fix them. PARTS: WINDOWS 11 Ryzen 5 5500 MSI MAG B550M Bazooka Kingston HyperX Fury 16GB (2x8GB) 2666MHz Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2060 6G D6 Asus 750W TUF Gaming 80+ Bronze Power Supply Samsung 960 evo 250 gb m.2 2 random 1t drives First issue- there was no display at all or usb usage, all fans were spinning First fix- I took out the ram and only put in 1 in the FIRST slot, then i was able to boot into bios. (Note- only 1 ram slot is working) Second issue- Bios was working perfectly fine i could see all the parts displayed but when i tried to boot i was able to sign in ONCE, then it crashed after about a minute or 2 then it would crash on boot (before sign in screen) after 3 crashes it would go to the automatic repair screen then diagnosing problems, and once it got to the "Attempting repairs" it instantly crashes. Now this issue i have not fixed yet and am still trying to fix it now, im honestly lost for what to do at this point, ive been trying to get this pc to work for over 48 hours, (at least 8-10 hours of troubleshooting a day) Things ive tried- -Reset cmos -re seated all parts -Un plugged everything and only booted with the BARE minimum -tried ram in every other slot but none of them work except for the first 1 (There is no display or usb usage on other slots) -updated bios to latest version for my mobo -tried spare power supply -tried spare gpu --------- Any help is very much appreciated this has been the most annoying upgrade in years and im out of ideas,

So I built this pc around mid December of 2021. It's been serving me well until my power supply died on me and I had to get a new one. The power supply was old and looked sketchy, so I was kind of expecting it. Ever since I built it, even before my PSU died, I've had this issue every month or so. I would power on my pc and watch the lights on my motherboard to make sure everything boots up correctly. It would never successfully get to the boot light. The first time I boot it up, the lights would loop around four times, only reaching the VGA light until it restarts again. After that, the light will stay on and would never actually boot up. I made sure to see if it was just being slow and it wasn't. I waited over 24 hours for it to boot at that state before and it never did. Of course I did my own troubleshooting and found a temporary fix for it. I would take out the CMOS battery for around 5-10 minutes, letting all the power from my pc come out before doing so, and then put it back in and everything would be normal. It would do the boot loop thing again but instead of staying at the VGA light, it would finally boot up. It would be fine until a few weeks later when the issue would arise again. I ended up getting a new battery to replace my old one, thinking that it was the issue, but it didn't stop anything. I always thought it was an issue with my power supply, but now that I've replaced it with a newer one with a higher voltage, my ideas have plateaued. I'm starting to think it's an issue with my motherboard, but I don't have any reasoning behind that. I've attached some videos. The first one was before I reset the CMOS and the second one was after. The first video is in 5x speed and the second is in 7.5x speed because of the file size limit. Hello I would just like to raise concern, So my computer would occasionally hang and this has been occurring for two months, so it would go by freezing randomly and audio from the speakers would emit a grounded noise. Then even after waiting awhile for it to 'unfreeze', it would still remain hanging with the grounded audio noise. My only way to resolve it is by restarting the pc. Any suggestions for possible troubleshoots or cause of the problem? If it would be likely to be software or hardware? Thank you Here are the specifications of my PC: Motherboard: Gigabyte GA Z170 XP SLI OS: Windows 10 64bit (Enterprise 1607 version) GPU: Sapphire Rx 480 OC CPU: Intel i6700K (clocked at 4.5 GHz) Ram: GSkill Ripjaws 8GB PSU: Seasonic S12II 620W

Every time I boot up a game it will run for less than 2 minutes (sometimes less than 30 seconds) and the screen will freeze, I can still hear music and other sounds, and even shoot my gun if I manage to get into a game. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling with DDR, unplugging my second monitor, updating my bios, rolling back the drivers. During the time that games are running, I get weird color flashes, almost like strobe lights on part of my screen Setup is: RTX 2070, i7 4790k, asus h87 plus mobo, 16gb ram, 1000w evga psu

I was in middle of team fortress 2 and my computer shut down, no blue screen or anything like if it was overheating. So, I put a house fan blowing on it for a while to help it cool down, and later it turned on again. A few hours later i get back on team fortress 2, and it does it again. This time, it only turns on for about half a second then turns off again. The LEDs and everything else works but i'm not sure why it's doing this. specs: amd fx 8320 gtx 750 sentey 500w gigabyte ga 78lmt usb3
