Hello everyone, as i have a 120 Hz capable screen i turn frame skip off in teraria to play at 120 fps. But i have this weird issue where my game runs at 120 fps but the mouse is only as smooth as when the game runs at 60 fps. I can actually see in the motion of he cursor on my screen that it is actually only at 60 hz, while the rest of the game is running on 120. The input lag is also noticeably higher than on desktop usage when it is actually running at 120 Hz. I never had this issue in any other game. Either the cursor is running at the fps of the game or there is a "Hardware Cursor" feature which unties it from the game's fps. Is there any workaround?

Hi! I have a Terraria (and Minecraft, but that's not relevant since I don't have an especific command to start that server) server setup on a VM on Google Cloud running Ubuntu. I have a little script that initiates the server by entering a command. The thing is that I had an idea. What if my friends could start and stop the server by putting a command on a Discord chat? I've seen bots do things when entering a command like !play (whatever music) and things like that, but I don't really know if they are capable of performing an externela action like this. I don't know either if the Google Cloud SDK has any support for something like this. If anyone would like to help, anything is welcome! I would like to learn from this and any ideas (even if they're wrong or are not exactly what I'm asking) are veeery welcome. Thank you all in advance!

Playing terraria in 21:9 does not work, the only mod i could find was RomTerraria and that fixes the resolution but lock my "Colour" mode at retro witch is horrible in terraria. I want to get 16:9 1920x1080 with black bars on the sides much like overwatch allows you to do. How do i fix this as there is no way to do anything from the in game menu. Thanks in advance

[Put any intro, yada yada] First of all this is a fresh OS install and using steam. Problem: when it reaches 99% it doesn't finish the download, start the install nor the next download, it just sits there trying to download something else. If I pause the download and restart it again it starts from 0%. No error windows at all. It only happens with terraria, other games install just fine.

Not too much time on the site, nor with building TONS of computers, so I figured I would ask the community for help again. My mother has a crappy Staples laptop that just died on her. She plays some games (some of which are taken a little too seriously) and needs a new computer. This is her third laptop in 6 years, so I told her I would help her build one that would LAST that we can actually FIX. Basically, she wants to go as cheap as possible, but I want to throw in a few things to help out with futureproofness. She plays a TON of Runescape on the new client, which basically requires a dedicated GPU (though it's "recommended" is a GTX 400 series Lololol) She also spends a fair bit of time on games like Terraria, Minecraft and other casual games. I want to get her into basic PC gaming with older titles she loves like Elder Scrolls and maybe some emulators, and make sure that we have things like an SSD for overall sanity. Size is a plus, so something that isn't in a massive case would be a bonus, but is by no means required. TL;DR: We're building a cheap-as-you-can-be gaming rig for things that are either easily handled by a flagship Skylake alone or are several years old, but also want to have a little longevity in the build so we don't do this again in 5 years.

So I've been thinking about picking up a used PC on ebay for around $30-50 and then upgrading it and using it as a gaming server for me and the boys. Right now here's around the current specs I'll be looking at: Intel i3-3220 8gb DDR3 RAM 500gb 7200rpm HDD I'll be using this server for games like Minecraft, GMod, or Terraria most likely, but I might also try out an ARK server or something and it'll probably only have around 5-15 players on at a time at max. Will this be a good server setup? Should I upgrade anything else?

Have you guys ever had one of those worlds, where you just feel like deleting it purely because the biomes are fked and the surface chests give you nothing of use? Well that happened to me, but I also have had some other issues with my world. It might seem like I'm ranting most of the time, and that's probably because I'm smashing the keys of my K70 through my desk. So, straight away, from when I started over and created an Expert world a couple days after 1.3 was released, I realised that I got screwed over. Somehow I got 3 Corruptions, 2 to the left, and another to the right, with my snow biome being placed inside the closer one on the left. My right side ocean, it's just terrible, completely flat at the bottom and shallow as a pin's shadow. My jungle was placed normally, and I did get 5 Desert Temples (got a decent amount of Gold from the money bags in them), but they're the only things going for my world. Don't even get me started how many Goblin Armies and Blood Moons I've had since I made it, lost count after the 20th Blood Moon and 15th Goblin Army. Not particularly specific to this world, but just a testament to how much luck I have, or lack thereof. When trying to create the Lightning Boots, I couldn't find a damn Aglet, I had to scout 3 and a half worlds to find one... One God damned Aglet... *sigh* After making my world available for my friends to join for about the 7th time, one of them (only 3 of us) decided it'd be a great idea to kill the WoF (Wall of Flesh), so now, not only was my world an Expert one, but it was also in HardMode... Now please excuse me while I get 2 Solar Eclipses, 2 Goblin Invasions, Skele Prime and The Destroyer all spawn within one IRL day after going into HardMode. Back to biomes, my Hallow was kind enough to spawn about 500 blocks away from my house, so I had to do some 'Emergency House Protection', took me about 5-6 stacks of TNT but I was able to save my ~1000 block wide spawn area. So, tell me about your tales of disgustingly awful worlds, that have made you want to uninstall Re-Logic from life. And to be honest I wouldn't be surprised if The Moon Lord spawns in tomorrow ~.~

I just launched Terraria because of the new 1.2 update, and I thought they would fix this by now. The title pretty much says it all, I can't get Terraria to run above 1920x1080. Does anybody know of a fix? I saw a few widescreen patches for very early beta a long while back, but they don't seem to do anything. My full spec list is in my signature.

I'm looking for some people to play Terraria with, basically. If you're willing, can someone set up a server? I know it's dumb to ask, but my internet is just shit and there would probably be a ton of lag. Nothing required, except maybe for you to have higher tier gear (like Spectre boots and a grappling hook). All communication will be done in game (no TS or Skype).

I have been having a problem with Microsoft .NET Framework lately. Games that I try to play that use it are crashing very close to the time that I launch them. I have tried re-installing .NET Framework. Both versions 4.0 and 4.5.
