Linus said on a WAN in the recent past that he just wants to wear a hoodie year-round, and that the team is developing some sort of breathable summer-wear that would protect your skin, especially your arms and neck from the sun. I love this idea, and I'd get it in a heartbeat. Does anyone have info about the project? Or, have you found a similar solution that works for you?

I left school today with no obligations to return for another 3 months, and so now I'm faced with the problem of finding things to do over summer! I have a few things planned, like work, recording some new music, hitting the gym, and playing tennis with my team. Those alone though won't keep me busy enough, and I want to do some serious DIY stuff that I didn't have time to during school. I've collected a bunch of computer junk over the past year and I hope to really come up with some unique projects made of these parts. So my question is what are some cool ideas to try involving computers, old smart phones, networking, and electronics? ideas, videos, DIY websites, etc are super welcome and I appreciate the feedback. Will definitely share my products afterward!

I have a potato PC that has an i5 6400 (at 2.71ghz) and 12 GB of ram with no gpu, what are some good games that are included in the summer sale, that would run on this system with frame rates of 30+ on lowest settings in 1080p?

Hello, My name is Diego Torrealba and I recently got into PC gaming. The Steam Summer Sale has officially dropped a day ago and now I am in the dilemma that most other gamers who really want to buy a game are facing. What game should I buy? Like I said, I recently got into PC gaming in general, so I don't have that many background references for me to use to decide what game I want to invest my time and money on. So I cam here for help. If you are reading this, please look at the following games I play and decide a game that is not on this list that would fit me to invest my time to. Destiny- I love FPS games, even though this one is not on the PC. I like the idea of creating your own character and loosely following a story that just helps you level up to make raids and pvp easier and fun. I love the idea of grinding for some gear with other people, even if it means playing for more than 400+ hours. With diverse weapons and abilities for me to play with and dominate in different settings. Also good graphics. Blade and Soul/Black Desert Online- The immense character customization, intense grinding and leveling experience, different cosmetics and weapons to grind for. The open world, not following anything sort of feel. Clans and groups of people who help each other dominate other groups. Different classes that can overpower others at different situations. The constant release of new areas, weapons, classes, and make the gaming experience how you want to play. Also good graphics. An mmorpg that follows the mouse instead of clicking on the screen where you want your character to go. CS GO/ Overwatch- Basically variations of team v. team death matches. I like overwatch more because of the character cosmetics which allows you to make the character fit your preferences more. But what I like about both of these games is the intense pvp moments that grasp your attention, but can also lead to hilarious memories. I like working together as a team with each team mate participating and because of cooperation wins the game. Decent/Good Graphics GTAV/Player Unknown Battlegrounds- The open world, survivalist, anyone can kill anyone, character customization, and building your character to the top through hard work, skill, and grinding. After reading my past game experiences, I hope it will help some of you to decide a game that fits my past experiences. Any recommendation will help and thank you for your time,

This is mainly for people who own their homes and are responsible for the yard upkeep. I've been toying with the idea of replacing sections, or the entirety, of my lawn with ground cover. Meaning plants that are by nature sprawling, dense, but do not get very tall. This would mean less to no mowing on my part; which would be awesome since i have a 1/3 acre piece of suburban property in Hot as hell virginia. I was wondering if anyone else has experimented or done this and what their thoughts were on the matter? Right now the contenders for plants are Creeping Red thyme, Snow in Summer, Sweet Woodruff, and Blue Star creeper. These would make the yard look pretty nice and cover the full sun to mostly shade spectrum of my yard.

So as summer is here now my overclocked 1600 is running a little hotter than i'd like, all my case fan slots are already full so I think now it's a good idea to set up a better fan curve so that i don't have to run the fan constantly at a set speed. does anyone now of any good and preferably free software to do this? i would do it in my BIOS but it just freezes when i try to do anything

I've been planning a trip to Japan for a while, and two possibilities came up. I can go this winter (over New Year's). It's cheap (off-season) and I have a friend to stay with, but I only get two weeks there, and it'll be cold (I'm tough, but growing up in 50°C / 120°F peaks = better suited to warm weather). I also won't get to see more than four places (Tokyo, Nagoya, Kyoto/Osaka). The other option is visiting with a friend over May and June next year. I'll get more time, be able to see more places and the weather will be warmer, but it'll be more expensive (end of spring tourism, start of summer tourism), and we'll have to sort out our own accomodation. I'm a student, so I can't guarantee that I'll have more money in May than I willl in December, although I should be able to sell some more equipment, and work over the winter break instead of visiting Japan. What are your thoughts? Would you recommend? Cheers, Aereldor.

So I have a week of my summer break when I have nothing planned. I hope to do something for around $300. I was thinking about building a server (that thingy with hard drives so that I can dump files on it. I am most definitely am open to other ideas. I can't use this money for upgrades. I have no idea how to build a server so if I decide on building one I may ask for help. Maybe something with networking? idk. Any ideas? Thanks.

I'm building my first PC for the summer. I'm only looking to Game on it, not much more. It should kinda serve as a 'starterkit' to Upgrade later down the road. What do you think of these Parts? https://pcpartpicker.com/user/manant02/saved/rd67hM I live in Switzerland so prices are much higher than normal, here you can see what they're like: https://beta.toppreise.ch/wunschliste-pub?w_wlp_lid=36760354 Thanks for any response. Have a nice Day!

Hi everyone, I need some help with my Core i7-6700k NO OC. Today it's 30+ degrees Celsius in my house and my CPU is spiking to 100c during full load. The idle temperature is around 45c. Attached to this post is a .gif file showing the increase in temperature. Is this normal? I'm afraid I might destroy this CPU with these temps. Other PC components: Case: NZXT S340 Black/Red (no custom fans, just the stock ones) CPU: i7-6700k NO OC CPU Cooler: Corsair h80i liquid cooling GPU: MSI Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 Thanks in advance for the help and info

Hello, I have the Steelseries Rival 300 and it's an amazing mouse in every aspect except the damn coating (and wire depending on the desk you have and the sides tend to wear out but who cares about that) it doesn't have an anti-slip coating like my old deathadder which I broke. The deathadder is also an amazing mouse btw and I was wondering if anyone knows a way to fix this, maybe I could pour some kind of liquid over the mouse or something so that it doesn't slip from my hand when I'm aiming? My hands get sweaty and it's not the same feeling anymore and it doesn't completely slip from my hand but it's still a problem.

Just upgraded my pc workstation with a 220m oscillating variable speed cooling system, to help keep the ambient room temp down. Also note the "Fully Custom" mounting system!

I purchased an ASUS ZenBook Pro today. It's really nice and super fast. It features a i7 6700HQ, 960M, 16GB RAM and a 512GB SSD. However, AIDA64 is noticing that it's currently overheating and therefore throttling the CPU. I'm not sure if it's because of the heat of the Canadian Summer (We are currently in a heat wave) and that I don't have AC in my house. I'm really hoping that it's not a manufacturer defect. Any thoughts?

So I'm currently stuck between two cameras, a GoPro Hero 4 Silver or a compact camera. The main reason why I want a new lightweight device is that I have quite a few things I wanna document this summer such as when I go travelling, so vlogging basically The compact cameras I was looking at are the Canon G7X (or G7X MK2 if worth it) and the Sony RX100 MK3 (or MK4 if worth it). I reckon the GoPro would be my best bet, right? I can take it under water, have a wide field of view etc. etc. etc. -Now my question is, which one would be the best for "vlogging"? it would be nice to have 1080p 60fps recording. -Are the differences between the different versions of the compact cameras worth the extra price? -Which would have the best battery life? -Which one would provide the best audio/image quality and autofocus? I am open to other suggestions Thanks in advance, Sean.

Hi Linus (and others who may find this interesting ) I somehow doubt this message will reach him, but here goes nothing. I've seen countless OC videos on youtube, and so many things have been done that it's hard to get new content that people will come and watch for the next few years right? I propose that you'd make a video in which instead of overclocking, you'd make a CPU run at somewhat lower speed, let's say 3.5/6Ghz, while the temperatures would be cool, I haven't found anything about this, since google always leads to more OC settings, and I really think that this content would be watched by many more people like me, Summer is comming. My gf and I like to play minecraft in my kind of small room, and it gets quite hot, so i really think it would be helpful to have this oven cooled down to bearable temperatures, I know that in Canada you most likely won't have problems with this (loled), but do it for the same of the viewers Even more so, I'd aprechiate it if it were done for a similar components set as i have ^-^ ............................................... my specs: MB: ASUS M5A97 EVO R2.0 CPU: AMD FX-8320 GPU: NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 770 2GB Water cooling corsair h60 ssd:264GB HDD:2TB 750W supply power RAM(form CPU-Z): DUAL CHANNEL(abab); a)DDR3 8GB (max 666Mhz-jedec4(9,9,9,24) running max bandwith: 667Mhz b)DDR3 4GB (min 685Mhz-jedec4(9,9,9,24), max 800 xmp-1600(9,9,9,24) or 800 jedec6(11,11,11,28)) running max bandwith: 800Mhz in bios i've set it to auto, and it's written 11,11,11,28 next to it, giving 19,9/24 GB usable, while 99924 would give me about 4/24. in memory section of ram it's also 669.9/3:10/11.0/11/11/28/33. I thought i should specify this, in case it affects it.. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Hello everybody, I plan on upgrading my GPU and PSU of my PC, with a budget of 300 Euros (I live in Greece). You can see the specs and PCPP link in my Profile but also later in this post. I was thinking about the GTX 950 for a gpu, which is in the price of about 200 euros and the corsair PSU CXM Series 600 W 80+ Bronze CX600M Modular. What do you think? I plan to get this pack for my nameday or something like that, generally in summer. Also, I plan on selling my current GPU for about 50 euros. Now that the Steam Summer Sale is coming to an end I wanted to ask you guys what your feelings were about it. Did you get some decent deals, was it what you expected, were you dissapointed with the deals? Personally I feel like the sale wasn't as big as two years ago and it has been gradually becoming less significant to me, because they have so many intermediate sales now. Nevertheless I bought a few games I was planning on buying anyways, but no impulse buys this year. Would love to hear about your experiences.

This summer I'm planning on building my own gaming PC but I am completely new to PC building. I have a £500 budget which does not include perhiperals. I want to be able to play Cities Skylines, modded version of minecraft, civ 5 and perhaps Far Cry. Planning on having 2 monitors and also want an SSD to store the operating system and a Hard drive for media. Suggestions on what hardware I should get please!

I don't know just when I will be able to do this, but it's looking like somewhere between Q4 2015 and Q2 2016. Edit: Current Price Estimate: $5991 USD

In the next two month (June/July) will there be any major releases of GPU's or CPU's that would affect pricing for cards similar in price to gtx 970? I will be working a summer job making extra cash for a new gaming rig and was wondering if it would be best to wait ill late July or August to buy some of the parts. I think I had read somewhere that there would be some new products being releases (not sure) that might lower some of the prices a bit of current parts. Any tips on best times to buy parts this summer or any gaming rigs for around 1200$ are appreciated. If you're interested in leaving me any suggestions in a setup, I am looking to run only 1 monitor at the moment but would like to be able to run dual monitors in the future. Ill most likely be using my old optical drive because I don't use many cd/blue rays . I already own a razer keyboard and steel series mouse also so I don't need those. I am not picky about the case as long as everything will fit. I'm ok with just 8gbs of ram for the time being, but prefer a 8gb stick so I have spots for future upgrades. I am primarily wanting a gaming pc for graphic intensive games. My current monitor only has a 1366x768 resolution.
