I have been listening to WAN show for more than an year now on Spotify exclusively and never had any issues on the audio or the video podcast. For the past two podcasts now, I haven't been able to see the video podcast. Any suggestions on what I can do for this issue? Thanks
-
So I generally like to listen to podcasts rather than watch them, so I usually listen to the WAN Show when the VOD becomes available on Spotify. This week I noticed that the audio levels on the VOD are kinda quiet. I was wondering if it's just me or if everyone else is having this problem.

So I have this annoying issue with my internet that is really getting to me right now. My computer says I have Internet. Indeed, I can fire up Firefox and opened like 16 tabs; half of it being YouTube and browse around just fine. Even able to stream my favourite music on Spotify or checking Whatsapp through the browser. The same can't be said for Steam. I can start it up and log in normally, but it's been a few days now and I can't play some of my favourite games because they're all stuck in an endless loop of updates that couldn't be downloaded either due to "No Internet connection" or "Manifest Unavailable". And it wasn't just Steam, both the Spotify and Whatsapp app on Windows were also affected by it. I've tried every trick in the book to get it working, from disabling Firewall to "netsh winsock reset" to even doing the network reset but it still won't work. So what do I have to do now?

Hi I don't really know where to put this feedback. I usually listen to the WAN-show on spotify because well its really long and a perfect commute/gym podcast because of that. The Problem is the Sponsorspots are usually overdubbed which I get because there probably different contracts for different plattforms or something. Those just voiced out sponsorspots are inconsistent in volume and usually just way louder than the rest of the WAN show. Which not only kinda sucks but sometimes is even painful when I can't change the volume because my hands are occupied or my phone is in my backpack or something. Like this not quite scientific meassurment I just did in audacity. (Windows volume 50%, spotify volume in win-soundmixer set to max and spotify voulme 75%: so on my set up a comfortable listening experience maybe a bit on the louder side) the wan show itself is approx in the -20 dB range just like the vistaprint sponsorspot (#2) but the first and third sponsor spots (Sweetwater and Moment) are approx around -24 dB. Which is quite siginificant and you can also quite see it in the attached screenshot. wouldn't it be possible to automatically adjust the sponsor volume to average-wan-show-loudness +1 or 2 dB to account for breaks or something like there is not that much dynamic in Jakes voice when he reads out the advertisments, so to me -an editing noob but at least somewhat familiar with sound engineering - it looks like this could be done with not that much afford but maybe I am wrong there

Apple Watch - Spotify offline with Bluetooth headphones
creat0r posted a topic in Phones and Tablets
Here in Sweden, my mobile operator doesn’t support eSIM. Because of this I only bought the non-cellular version of the Apple Watch Series 7. If I want to go running without my phone, can I download songs from Spotify offline on the Apple Watch and listen via Bluetooth headphones?- 2 replies

Summary On 22nd February, Spotify announced, in it's Stream On event, that it will be expanding it's network to 80 more countries. This includes many countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia. With the new launch, customers in those countries will have access to the the full catalog of music and podcasts (with some exceptions depending on the market) and the app will be available on all available platforms like android, ios, smart TVs in those countries. The new markets are: Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahamas, Bangladesh, Barbados, Belize, Benin, Bhutan, Botswana, Brunei Darussalam, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cabo Verde, Cambodia, Cameroon, Chad, Comoros, Côte d’Ivoire, Curaçao, Djibouti, Dominica, Equatorial Guinea, Eswatini, Fiji, Gabon, Gambia, Georgia, Ghana, Grenada, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Kenya, Kiribati, Kyrgyzstan, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Lesotho, Liberia, Macau, Madagascar, Malawi, Maldives, Mali, Marshall Islands, Mauritania, Mauritius, Micronesia, Mongolia, Mozambique, Namibia, Nauru, Nepal, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Rwanda, Samoa, San Marino, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Tanzania, Timor-Leste, Togo, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Tuvalu, Uganda, Uzbekistan, Vanuatu, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Quotes My thoughts The launch of Spotify in these regions, is a big deal, both for Spotify and the customers. Being a resident of one of these countries means I can access Spotify content without having to use a vpn, like everyone else in these markets. It also brings some competition to other services like Deezer, which I personally used just because it is available here. I installed the app and checked the premium options. The price for individual, duo and family plans are 27% of the US price and 50% of similar Deezer plans in my country. I am definitely switching to Spotify. Since my replay and recording functions from Geforce experience always turned off when I open my Browser (since the driver update 487.09) I investigated this further. The browser (Opera) was not the problem, I opened Firefox which had no effect on it before, but when I opened the Spotify webplayer the overlay message popped up that my replay is turned off and I wasn't able to turn it back on until I closed Spotify. The music mafia really knows no limits when it comes to protecting copyright. I hope this helps people who couldn't figure out why it turned off like me.

This is a cry for help. I have tried everything to solve this issue. I am running windows 10. I use mobile hotspot from my POCO x3 PRO (my wifi in my house is not good enough). When connect to my phone I cannot join discord voice calls nor can I play spotify songs. When I connect to someone elses phone it works perfectly. I am desperate for a solution. Attached is my spotify problem and my discord problem kg4XZ.mp4 RVyui.mp4

I'm running Fedora 34, I installed Spotify through flatpak. One day it stopped working, I might have updated between the last time it worked, but I don't remember. There are no error messages or nothing, I do not know where I could find logs, if any. There simply is just no audio, it shows up in audio apps in gnome settings. I have reinstalled it, and deleted the local files flatpak doesn't remove, no difference. Anybody know what I can try? I'm just using the webplayer for now.

android Android Based Mp3/Mp4 player that can run Spotify
Jerri posted a topic in Phones and Tablets
Is there a device similar to a Sony Walkman NW-A105, but much cheaper? Less than $100. I'm looking for a device that can run the Spotify app and Bluetooth so that I can download music but doesn't have Cellular or a Camera to comply with my schools rules.- 4 replies

Summary The European Commission has informed Apple of its preliminary view that it distorted competition in the music streaming market as it abused its dominant position for the distribution of music streaming apps through its App Store. Quotes My thoughts This decision might get expensive for Apple. Furthermore the same points apply to the "Epic vs. Apple" fight. We will probably see some major changes to the app store rules for developers. Sources https://ec.europa.eu/commission/presscorner/detail/en/ip_21_2061

I was gifted a Roku device years ago for Christmas and haven't turned back. Amazon dropped twitch from Roku so I got the 4K FireTV dongle thing. This was absolutely garbage! I even purchased the extra dongle for direct wiring, which slowed the thing down. I am running strong with the Roku 4660X2 Ultra (older model). My twitch viewing has thus decreased significantly. Luckily WAN show is on Youtube. 2020 and HBO Max at launch wasn't available on either box. Also Joe Rogan Experience moved to Spotify which only supports video on Web/non "Box" platforms. I am really just trying to figure out the right question and who should ask it. I honestly didn't think about how Multi-Media boxes made money, just assumed the cost of the box. Now I am under the impression that they get commissions or something. Which would affect platform hosting. Does this affect Spotify in the same way, or can they just not handle video streaming to all platforms? Are we to just go back to HTPC solutions now? Guessing that is the fool proof solution to all these problems. I also have no experience with any of the other Multi Media boxes available. I apologize if this is in the wrong category, but without further adieu... What nobody seems to have figured out is that how shuffle works is dependent on the repeat button. If the Repeat button is off the shuffle is a true shuffle where songs can be repeated. When the repeat button is on, a song can only be played once on that shuffle and then the shuffle playlist must be played in it's entirety before the song may be repeated. This is how the Shuffle has worked since around 2015 or so and at this point I am not convinced that Spotify even knows this because I have seen people complaining about this for so long and they somehow don't have a help article about it. This was prompted by the latest WAN show.

There is a static / hissing noise in the background of all the audio from Spotify while any music is playing. I've tried changing all my settings, reinstalling audio drivers, restarting my computer, and using all the usb ports on my PC for my headphones, and tried all the sample rates for my output devices but nothing works. This only happens in Spotify, all other audio on my PC is working and there isn't any static / hissing sound. I'm on Windows 10, my headphones are the Sennheiser x Massdrop HD58x and are plugged into a Fosi Audio Q4 (Headphones connected to Q4 by 3.5mm audio cable, Q4 connected to USB3.0 port on my motherboard). I use Voicemeeter Potato as a mixer to control audio (also tried removing this but nothing changed). I've tried the Realtek universal and high definition audio drivers (currently have the high definition driver installed). The sample rate on all my devices is set to 16 bit - 48000Hz which I also tried changing to any other available sample rates but nothing changed. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling Spotify. In my Spotify settings I have the streaming and download quality set to very high and auto-adjust quality turned off. Normalize audio is off. Mono audio is off. Hardware acceleration is on. I also tried changing all of these settings but nothing happened. Does anyone know a solution to remove the static / hissing noise from Spotify? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Hello, Basically i can't use my spotify anymore (it loads for like 5 minutes and then says something went wrong),same with spotify web player and also i can't open whatsapp with whatsapp web either. They both worked fine until 4-5 days ago when they just suddenly stopped working, but when i connect my laptop to data from my phone everything works again. Note that using incognito mode somehow fixes spotify web player but not whatsapp. I re-installed Spotify multiple times to make sure its not a client issue and now idk what to do so any suggestions would be great. P.S gaming without spotify is kinda lame.

I've noticed the Wan show usually isn't posted on Spotify until the following Monday after the stream, which is fine, and I get that the stream doesn't end until around midnight now, and it's the weekend after that, but I like to listen to it as soon as possible, which usually means using youtube, which again would be fine if I wasn't listening to it from my phone with youtube's stupid "you can't playback video unless you either keep your phone on constantly or pay for premium." anyways, just wondering if there was a specific reason it comes later to spotify, and if not it would be awesome to get it sooner. although at the rate things are going, the wan show might not finish till sunday anyways.

Been an LTT fan for a while, but was never a big forum user. Decided to create an account today so that I could post about a clever idea I thought of, which could help automate Spotify ad reads. During the WAN show, at the beginning of the ad reads, someone could press a button which, for example, plays an inaudible sound for the Vod (assuming this is possible lol). At that point, automating ads would be a matter of searching for this inaudible sound frequency in the recording, snipping out the appropriate video section, and inserting the Spotify ad reads. Thanks for reading, hopefully I posted in the correct location lol

I thought I would do a little write up on the different music streaming services that I use. Right now, I use 3; Tidal, Spotify, and Google Play Music All Access (Can they shorten that name, please?). I like all of them for different reasons, but hopefully this will help people to make a more educated decision about them. Unfortunately, I haven’t used Apple Music before, so I can’t comment on that. So, originally, I was just using Spotify, but recently it hasn’t been working 100% properly on my phone, so I thought I would give the other two another try, since I hadn’t used either in a couple of years. My issue with Spotify on my phone is a personal one, I believe, as I haven’t been able to find anyone else with the same issue, so for the purposes of this little write up, I’m willing to ignore them. I’m going to break this up into parts based on each player. I’m going to cover UI, reliability, quality of playlists, quality of radio, and miscellaneous things that I do or don’t like. Spotify: UI: The Spotify UI is very good on both the PC and mobile devices. It’s simple, and the search function isn’t very intrusive (the same can’t be said for Tidal). I personally enjoy dark themes, as I like to listen to music in the evenings with light low or off, so it is less fatiguing to look at. The black, dark grey, and green color scheme might not be to some people’s tastes, but I like it. Reliability: Spotify is generally reliable. I have had the occasional issue where it will decide that I’m not connected to the internet when, in fact, I am. That’s kind of a minor issue though, as closing and opening the app will generally fix it. (Sometimes it’s caused by Android trying to hang onto a wi-fi signal when it should have switched over to cellular) Spotify also loads songs quite quickly, which I appreciate. Quality of Playlists: Most of my listening these days (and that of my friends) is done through playlists. I rarely listen to a full album these days, as there are almost invariably songs that I don’t like all that much. Playlists fix that issue. Now, with the advent of streaming, there are other people that work hard on playlists which they upload to the service for others to listen to. Spotify has a huge lead in this, although that is partially because Spotify has a huge user base. Spotify playlists are generally the best that I’ve found, whether they’re made by Spotify or by the users on Spotify, they are excellent. Quality of Radio: This is where I have consistently been disappointed by Spotify for a very long time. The radio generally doesn’t do a very good job of finding songs that match the same theme as the original, and the radio also tends to repeat songs. I believe this is due to the algorithm selecting 25 or so songs, and only playing those unless you leave feedback with the thumbs up or down. I dislike this approach because I tend to just listen, rather than constantly leaving feedback on each song. Other Miscellaneous Stuff: Whether or not you believe in improved audio quality beyond 320 mbps mp3, Spotify uses Ogg Vorbis, which helps keep the audio quality up, even with lower bit rate music, which is a huge plus if you have limited bandwidth (I don’t, so I always listen to full quality, even on my phone, since I have unlimited data.) Tidal: UI: The Tidal UI can be a bit confusing. It’s hard to navigate sometimes, and if you’re on the now playing page, they show “recommendations” based on the song you’re listening to, but it’s confusing because they don’t clearly show that the recommendations are not a part of the album/playlist that you’re listening to. Reliability: I haven’t had any issues with the Desktop app, but the mobile app could use some help in this department. I’ve had it crash on me on several occasions, for no discernable reason. I’ve also run into issues whenever I switch from wi-fi to cellular, where it will return a needless error code. It can be annoying for general listening. Quality of Playlists: Not very good, generally. That’s about all I have to say about it. They pale in comparison to Spotify, and they’re the worst of the three, in my experience. Also, there is next to nothing created by the community. They’re almost all “By Tidal”. Quality of Radio: Marginally better than Spotify, which isn’t saying much. As far as I can tell, it will continue playing new music indefinitely though, which is a plus. Haven’t used it much. Oh, but you can’t make radio stations based on whole albums or playlists, which you can do with Spotify. Other Miscellaneous Stuff: Tidal is the only option here that supports Hifi streaming, so if you’re into that, Tidal is the way to go. I can’t say that I can hear a difference between this and high quality Spotify, but I would like to think I can, haha! Tidal does music videos, which is cool. It’s fun to watch videos in high bitrate HD video. Google Play Music all Access: UI: The UI is very good here. Nothing to complain about. Reliability: Google is the best in the bunch at handling transitions between wi-fi and cellular, and I’ve never had it crash. Full points here. Quality of Playlists: Halfway between Tidal and Spotify. They’re alright, but not amazing. Quality of Radio: My personal standard for excellent radio algorithms is Pandora, and Google absolutely nailed this one. The radio meanders along its own course, but never forgets the core inspiration from the first song. I use Google Play Music all the time on the road because of this. Any time I’m walking between classes, I’m using this one exclusively. Other Miscellaneous Stuff: Google Play Music also does music videos, albeit through YouTube. It’s still a good feature, and it’s integrated decently. It’s not as good as Tidal though, since you must switch apps on mobile devices, which can get tiresome. Google has a Seller’s license for their music (since they also sell music) so some masters are better than their streamed counterparts (or so I’ve heard. I have no personal evidence to back this claim up, so take it with a grain of salt.) I’m not sure what kind of license Tidal has, but I would assume that since they market their hi-fi streaming so much, their masters aren’t going to be bad. Conclusion: Well, I use all three of these players for different things, and I plan to continue using – and paying for – all three indefinitely. I use Spotify when I just want to chill out and listen to a playlist, without paying too much attention to the music. I use Tidal when I want to closely listen to the music, or when I want to watch music videos. I think Tidal does that very well. I also like that Tidal can take exclusive use of my DAC/amp, so I don’t have to deal with Windows messing with my audio. I use Google Play Music when I’m on the go. Any time I’m listening to music on my phone, it’s through Google. They have the best “set it and forget it” setup with their radio, so that’s what I use. Youtube Red being bundled with All Access doesn’t hurt either, since I get ad free Youtube, and I don’t have to pay $10 more for that. If anyone has anything they’d like clarified, or comments/concerns, feel free to comment! P.S. You may have noticed, I didn't really comment on Audio Quality! That's because I can't really tell the difference. Maybe I don't listen close enough or whatever, but I listen to music for my enjoyment. Some people swear by hi-fi music, others are fine with mp3. I'm not here to judge. I listen to everything on the highest quality allowed in settings, and I've been happy with all three in that regard so far. I don't think it's really a point that people should worry about for the most part.

I recently read an article on how the Spotify App for Windows and OSX is writing tons of unnecessary data in the background, what is causing a much shorter lifetime for SSDs and even HDDs. Source (sorry to all non-germans ^^): http://www.stern.de/digital/online/spotify--warum-der-streaming-dienst-ihre-festplatte-zerstoeren-kann-7143688.html The article was uploaded 4 hours ago by a legit german newspaper. To sum it up quickly: The Spotify App writes tons of data, even though they are unnecessary for music streaming. Sometimes even >100GB per day, even when not listening to music, what causes a shorter life span of both SSDs and HDDs (obviously this goes more for SSDs). The problem has been reportet since June 2016 and Spotify knows about it. Spotify says you should simply reinstall it, what doesn't seem to make it better, refering to many users. There is said to be a way to fix it yourself. However, this requires knowledge on how to use a Hex-editor. Using the web player won't cause any issues. One of their sources: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Ongoing-Issues/Major-I-O-write-bytes-on-the-Spotify-Desktop-app-It-will-kill/idi-p/1476745#comments I don't know if all this is true, but it seems like a major issue to me. That got me thinking why spotify hasn't fixed it in 4 months... (Maybe they have a deal with SSD manufacturers lol) If you know anything about it, feel free to share your information
