So I decided to buy the Skyrim Anniversary Edition upgrade on Steam. Along with the CC content, you get a new gold Dragon logo on the title screen. The problem os that all of the content is applied as their individual mods, and thus have the same issues of installing a ton of mods, an increasingly unstable game. So not only have they re-released the game for the seventh time, but it is now more unstable and broken than ever.

So I was having issues with my game crashing on Skyrim (The 2011 release not celebration edition) constantly, I believed it was due to mods, so I removed all the mods (steam workshop) The game continued to crash so I verified the files. While verifying files I had a youtube video open. About quarter through verifying, the entire system froze, and It was stuck on a loud repeating sound, I quickly turned off my pc via the power button, and turned it back on. It failed to boot and retryed on its own multiple times, my keyboard lit up and I could hear the hardrive attempt to spin up multiple times, but fail. My hardrive was making a very loud noise for the past few months (i was expecting a hard drive failure.) I unplugged my HDD and attempted to boot. I had all my fans spin up like normal but no post/output, My keyboard lit up too. I then unplugged my 2nd SSD (sata) and attempted to boot with the same results. I know for certain it was not due to any bios settings I changed. Specs: Asus Tuf b365m Plus - 1 1/2 years old Msi GTX 1660 ti Ventus OC - 1 1/2 years old Samsung 970 evo plus 1tb - 2 months old Apacer 240 gb sata SSD - 1 1/2 year old Western Digital Blue 1tb 7200 RPM - 1 1/2 year old NHU12S Chromax.Black - Week old Random 550 Watt Gold PSU included with prebuilt.

Today I came back to playing Skyrim SE after about a month away from the game. As most of us know, BGS games cap in-game fps to 60 because of the engine. Before when I was playing I had a consistent 60fps in-game at all times, very little dropping and (if any) it was to 59-58. For some reason now the game is running at a constant 55 fps, which is VERY odd to me because it basically seems capped (why would it be capped at 55). But what is even more odd is, the game is stuttering like crazy and is clearly not running very well, despite 55fps realistically being marginally visually different from the previous 60fps I had; I'm not that picky, obviously 55fps is fine, but I can't understand why it's changed all of a sudden and why the game performance is bad. All graphics settings are on Ultra, but changing graphics settings does absolutely nothing to performance, so I am really totally confused right now. I have tried disabling all mods and reinstalling the game, as well as messing with nvidia control panel and some third party software, but with no luck. If anybody has had a similar experience with a BGS game or knows of a fix I would really appreciate it. I'll list my system specs below but I kind of doubt it has anything to do with my hardware. TLDR: Skyrim is stuck at 55fps when before it was at a constant 60fps, and is noticeably stuttering and suffering in performance despite 55fps and changing graphics settings. system specs: amd 5600x RTX 2070ti 16gb corsair vengeance ddr4 b550 tomahawk 1080p 60hz basic-ass monitor

So Skyrim AE is now available on GOG. https://www.gog.com/game/the_elder_scrolls_v_skyrim_anniversary_edition I need a question answered about this. The problem I had with AE on Steam is that once you purchase AE, it'll force you to install the CC packages on first start-up. This takes some time depending on how good your internet connection is, and due to the fact that the content is packaged individually, it could seriously disrupt a heavily modded game. First, I need to know if the AE upgrade on GOG is now one single patch file, or if you can install CC content individually. Combining all CC content into a single package would greatly reduce modding related glitches. PS: this might be considered news, but I don't like bothering with the wierd format LTT requires of us. So it's here instead.

So I decided to pick up skyrim se and tried it on my rx480 build and had terrible performance at 1080p usually under 40fps. it turns out that disabling the Vsync in the games ini file fixed it and gives me a stable 60fps. I had to obviously cap the fps and i did so using amds radeon software. Now I'm getting notable screen tearing which is really killing me inside so here's my decision. 1. Just deal with it and enjoy great performance. 2. Enable the ingame vsync and cry at terrible performance. 3. Buy a freesync monitor? What do you guys think? Either that or I'm having a different issue and can't find a fix.

Ahoy there LTT community! Short version: How can I prevent my GPU from underclocking itself too far while keeping Vsync and FPS Limiters active for lagless 59-60 FPS without screen-tearing? Long version: I noticed this problem recently while playing Skyrim SE with enabled frame limiter (~60) in the Nvidia drivers. Inside interiors when there's not much to render my GTX 970 underclocks itself very far. Which wouldn't be so bad, but when more stuff appears on screen (light sources, enemies, etc.) then the GPU ramps up and causes stutters while doing so. But most annoying of all is that it sometimes it stays underclocked and delivers subpar 30-40 FPS in these interoir situations. Unacceptable. I monitored these clockspeeds with MSI Afterburner: Outside - 1190 Mhz (base) to 1392 Mhz (boost). Interior normal - ~ 950 Mhz Interior laggy - ~ 650 Mhz (<-- what the hell?) Now, how can I tell my GTX 970 not to slow down that much? I did pinpoint this occurence to the frame limit option in Nvidia Inspector, but I don't want to turn it off because the ingame Vsync option (iVSyncPresentInterval in the SkyrimPres.ini) causes too much input lag for my tase. Therefore I limit the framerate to 59 or 60 and force Vsync on both in Nvidia inspector so I have pretty much no input lag and also no screen-tearing on my 60Hz Monitor. I didn't notice any problems with power consumption or heat so I'm sure there's no throtteling going on. I belive my GPU just "relaxes too much". I'd like to set a limit for how far the card may slow down in this game. Is that possible? Hope you guys can help and have a nice weekend! I like to think I have a pretty decent build. (AMD-Fx 8320 4.0 GHz, 8 core, GTX 1060, 14 GB Ram, 600 W power supply) I've been playing Enderal and I notice sometimes that whenever I look in a certain direction, my frames go from steady 60 to low 40. I've tweaked with settings and looked online and can't find anything.

So i'm wanting to buy Skyrim, and i can get some good deals on Skyrim Legendary Edition. If i buy Skyrim Legendary Edition, will i recieve the Special edition? Or was that only for the people that had skyrim and its DLCs before its release?

I just wanted to create this thread to toss around ideas on how Bethesda COULD implement 2 player co-op into some of their open world sandbox games. I really wanted a functioning Fallout 4 COOP mod to show up but it looks like that won't be happening due to the technical limitations of it. I noticed a lot of people arguing about how it could be implemented, if it even should be. This is my idea: First of all, it should be voluntary of course. It should be like Minecraft where one person hosts and the other people can only play when the host is online. I feel like that would be MUCH easier to maintain than to deal with dedicated servers. Of course a dedicated server would be much cooler but it's way too hard to maintain and seems really unnecessary. And of course the other person is able to DC whenever they want without interrupting the host's gaming. Now for the major things that people are afraid of: Story and conversation: Fallout can be heavily dialogue based and it's unrealistic to think Bethesda should change the dialogue lines to include both players, that'd be insanely time consuming and Bethesda already doesn't put enough time into polishing and bug checking, last thing we need is them having to polish this system. What they should do instead is continue to make it based around the host player. The host does all the talking and conversations. When you enter conversation the camera switches between the people talking when they're talking, right? Well if the second player is nearby there should be an option called "listen in" or something like that, where they see the same thing the host sees in conversation, all the people talking and the line picking options where the host decides the next line said. This way the host and the other player can discuss the correct option, but of course the host should make the decision. Charisma challenges should be based on the host entirely as well. Keep in mind, watching the conversation should be a toggle thing. If the second player would rather explore elsewhere than they should be able to. Companions and PVP: two player coop, no companions. The second player is essentially your companion, so you can't have Piper while your friend is playing with you. There are no special companion perks when you have a second player because it's already a perk to have a well equipped and competent player rather than a really crappy AI. PVP between players will also be an optional and consensual thing, akin to how it was done in Borderlands and it wouldn't completely kill the other player, but the losing player would have to heal themselves' back up while the winner gets their health reset to the way their health was before the 1v1 (that way you can't just do 1v1s to boost the other person's health and the loser does face a consequence) Items: Items and shopping should be the same for either character. When one player picks up an item it should still be there on the other player's screen. If there's a roll of duct tape in the corner and the host picks it up, it should still be on the other player's screen. This way there will be plenty of items for both players so Bethesda doesn't have to worry about increasing the amount of items. This will be different with pick up items and props though. Props like chairs and stuff like that will be the same for both screens, that way if one player hits the chair it moves for the other player. That's different from items though, so if one player moves or picks up an item it doesn't move for the other player. This should go for power suits and weapons as well. When one player is in the powersuit, the other player should be able to see it. But once that player gets out it should disappear for the other. It's gonna look janky and unimmersive but this seems like the best option. Players can't share items so there will never be an overabundance so that difficulty will remain the same. They have different items even if they're at the same workshop or crate. Shops will be the same. If one player buys a weapon from a dealer then that weapon should still be available to the other player. Game difficulty: With two players the game difficulty most certainly needs to be increased to compensate. I would say add twice the enemies and double their health. Bosses get health doubled (but of course there won't be two of the same boss that would be stupid) and there will be twice the amount of super mutants or ogres than before with double the health. If a player DCs while the host is in a gunfight, drop the difficulty so less enemies spawn and newly spawned enemies have less health so as soon as the host clears out the enemies that spawned in while it was still a two player game, it'll be as if it were a single player game the entire time. Bethesda has a bad habit of giving us low framerates when a lot of enemies are on screen though, so a solution to that would be to make the corpses of bodies killed by one player invisible to the other. It'll be last hit based by the way. If one player did 99 damage to an enemy and the other player got the last hit then tough luck! Kill got stolen. That's why you don't play with asshole friends am i right? This way there doesn't get to be an overabundance of items and the game doesn't have to render so many bodies. This would be different for bosses, however, where both the players would still see the boss's corpse and can loot from it. Of course for Bethesda to be able to handle this some compromises need to be made. Maybe less render distance in two player mode and lowered quality. You'll get the best looking and best performing game on solo play but sacrifices must be made in coop. Tough luck kiddo! Finally, the workshop: If Bethesda continues to keep the workshop function introduced in Fallout for and the one in Skyrim, there needs to be a coop plan for it. I think it makes a lot more sense to keep in the workshop function if they do include a coop function. What's the point in building a bad ass settlement or lake house if you can't show it off? I would in Fallout, both players should be able to make a settlement. They both get to build in the same settlement and everything, they can delete each other's items and everything. It should be just like Minecraft in that sense. They should have separate workshops though since they can't share items. If one player has 84 concrete the other player has to get their own concrete. If the second player delete's the host's items (or vice versa) items go back to the original builder, not the person who destroyed it. For a new Elder Scrolls game if they keep the same house building system like they did in Skyrim, I think both players get their own house and can't change the other's. Homes in the Elder Scrolls games should be entirely personal and unaffected by another player. And that's my idea for how Bethesda should implement coop! I know it's much easier said than done but I just wanted to give my perspective as a gamer and NOT a game designer. If there's something I didn't touch on or if you have a better idea or just want to comment on my idea please do so! I want this to be a discussion after all. Also no arguing or insulting. If you have a better idea that someone else in this thread or than me please share it respectfully, I don't want this to be an argument, just a friendly discussion between gamers.

When running Skyrim through Mod Organizer's SKSE selection from the dropdown menu (installed like Gopher did), windowed mode works fine, but when I run in windowless mode, I get an endless black screen. I have no idea what might cause this. Vanilla Skyrim runs in both windowed and windowless. Neither of my mod profiles run in Windowless (no matter the resolution), but they do run in windowed. i have 2x GTX 1080 and cant get over 46 fps and will bounce down to 10 fps intermittently. Ive set it to use single card only and same thing. I am at 4k ultra settings Anyone else having this problem?

So I originally purchased the dawnguard and dragonborn DLC through an outside source so according to steam I dont have them but when I play I do. I purchased Skyrim and Hearthfire from steam. Is there a way for me to link the DLC to steam and make it official so I can get the remastered version for free? Thank you!

Since I purchased Skyrim: Legendary edition a couple years back, it appears that I am able to convert my copy to the Special Edition which will be coming out soon. However, I've heard that the Remastered version (Which I'm assuming is what I'll be getting if I upgrade to the Special Edition) does not work well (if at all) with a lot of the pre-existing Skyrim mods. Once the mod author reworks the mod to work with the Remastered Edition, it'd have to be downloaded and installed again. Plus, there's always the possibility that some mods may never be updated. Will pre-loading the Special Edition overwrite my current installation? If that's the case, it means my mods will probably need to be reinstalled.

So for a little while now I would be playing Skyrim and the screen would randomly turn grey and then my PC would lock up for about 10 seconds or so. Once I could get to the task manager, I would close Skyrim, to my demise as I'd lose my progress, and I would get a notification from Windows 10 saying "An application has been blocked from accessing graphics hardware." I've tried to look up solutions but all I've gotten was "try to update your drivers." This has been happening for the last 3 Nvidia Driver iterations. If anyone else has run into this problem, please let me know how you've fixed it. It's getting kind of annoying losing progress. So I am booting up the new skyrim and when I launch the window it doesn't scale to my monitor right. So I go into the options and try to change the resolution to fit my screen. I have an old monitor that is a 1280x1040, but in the slider there are no options for this. Please help I haven't the faintest clue of what to do.

I was just about to continue my Skyrim SE (still in the beginning, just never got around to play it much). But now I have a GTX 1080ti, what mods should I install to make use of the graphics horsepower? Also are the 1-click install mods from the main menu garbage or is that the ideal way to install them now?

Hi, I've been trying for hours upon hours to try and get my Skyrim to work with ANY ENB, I follow all the instructions set up all the files correctly drag and drop all of the right files, though for some reason when I boot Skyrim the text for the ENB host comes up in a really small font and when I boot into the game I am locked to 1fps, even though I'm running a i7 6700k and a 1080, worst of all sometimes it the ENB works then I shut my computer down and It stops working and I get these errors, I've tried both versions wrapper and injector and they both don't work, if anyone could help me I would appreciate it soooo much, thanks
