Hey guys, I'm in the market for a new gaming headset as my old one has been broken for a very long time. This time around I wanna spend a little bit more as my experiences with <€20 headsets hasn't been the greatest. My budget is somewhere between €50 and €60, but that's not a raw cap. So I've been looking for headphones in that area and to me it seems like the Siberia 200 or the Siberia V2 are my best choice. But.. which one? As far as I can get from reviews, the exterior, sound (mic and drivers themselves) is LITERALLY the same. It's basically the same product under a new name according to several reviewers. So, which one should I get? Or should I get a different headset alltogether? I'm still open to other suggestions. I don't really care that much about looks, but I do appreciate them. I've been stuck with shitty headphones my whole life, so shitty build quality / looks is not one of the biggest worries.

Hi all, So, although I did a small research, I couldn't come up with a satisfactory answer, so here I am seeking your wisdom. I have an ASUS Maximus VII Ranger. My headset is the wireless Siberia 800. I am mainly watching movies/series and game on it, 50-50 split and want the 5.1/7.1 virtual surround. Currently, I have connected the headset's external DAC via optical port on the motherboard's onboard sound card (ROG SupremeFX 8-Channel High Definition Audio CODEC). I have 2 questions. 1: I know for a fact that optical > usb connection, regarding surround sound etc, it's clearly written on the official connection guide. What about the analog in port though? Should I prefer it over optical or not? 2: I am thinking of buying a SoundBlasterX AE-5. Will it affect the sound quality over optical (or analog) at all compared to the ASUS onboard sound card or I am going to waste some hard earned money? Thanks in advance for any answer/advice folks!

I really like the looks and feel of Siberia headphones and they also sound quite good. At my local store they are having a sale for the Siberia v3 for 50 bucks but the v2's are also that much. I have read around and heard that the v2's are better than the v3? Any comments? Which should I get? Thanks in advance

I recently bought my self a Siberia 350 headset as an upgrade to what I already had. With it came a slew of problems. I'm not going to go into the problems themselves, as they are not what this is about. In my research about the problems, I learned that my problems were probably caused by bad drivers. However, in searching online I could not find a single place that offered manual download of drivers for any Steelseries headphone. Under the Drivers & Downloads section of the Steelseries site, there are absolutely no drivers and not a single other site even alluded to them existing. Does anyone know of a place that I can find drivers for my headphones to manually download?

Hello, Over the past two weeks i have been having an issue in which my steel series Siberia V2 microphone (USB) stops working randomly, in clients such as teamspeak and steam chat as well as in game. I have the latest drivers installed and have tried multiple ways of trouble shooting to no avail. I have ruled out a hardware issue as i have tried the same model of headphone and the problem of cutting out randomly still seems to persist. Any suggestions on fixing the issue?

So I have had a pair of Steelseries Siberia V3 for a year now, I got them mainly because I had the V1 and really liked the suspension system and to be honest because I'm a little Danish fanboy that loves all things SteelSeries. The first thing my friends noticed when talking on Skype, TeamSpeak, Facebook calls, anything really, was that they could hear a lot to everything I could hear when using the included mic. Furthermore when I used the mute button on the headphones instead of dead silence they heard what I was hearing through the headphones. This has happened with 3 different pairs that I have owned (first pair had it's faux-leather come of the suspension and second pair got it's cable eaten by my aunt's dog - both new pairs I got for free). Now the reason I come to you LTT army is to ask -since I don't have a lot of experience with gaming headsets- is this something that happens with most gaming headsets? Is it a known issue of the Siberia V3s?

Hi guys ! I recently bought an H Wireless headphone, transitioning from an excellent and long-lasting Siberia Elite. Although the H wireless are great headphones, with an amazing sound quality, especially when using Dolby in Movies. Well I got 2 problems: 1. The sound power is pretty low. How can I Improve that? I heard there is an european limit or something...? 2. In my Asus Rampage V Extreme sound settings I can't set it to maximum frequency, or what that is (Studio Quality), I can go maximum to lowest kHz studio quality and not the highest as i had on my elites. If I do select it, I won't hear anything in my Headphones, nothing. Is that because of the maximum transfer rate between the headphones and the dock ? Or should i configure it differently? The dock is connected to power via wall plug, to the pc audio out via optical and to the audio in via analog. Thank you a lot !

First off, i have a tiny head. The best headset to ever fit me were the SteelSeries Siberia V2s, however, i disliked the retractable mic. Right now, i currently have Logitech G930s (wireless "7.1"), but they are massive. The top of the ear-cups sit at the very top of my ears (leaving a lot of space below my ear) due to the design just being pretty big. I have no idea if i could make them smaller in anyway without damaging them, but i'd rather just sell them and pick up another pair of headphones that are a lot more comfy and size appropriate. Comfort/Size is pretty big for me, but audio quality and a boom mic is close behind. Siberia V2s specs Logitech G930s specs So.. Does anyone know if they have had/seen/heard about a decent headset, same size as the Siberia V2s with a boom mic? There are a SHIT ton of options.. but i'm not experienced with good quality sounding headsets. Also, realize that i will not only be using this for mostly gaming, but i'm a Indie game designer as well, and editing my own sounds/music is going to be in the mix as well. Thanks for all the feedback in advance!

Steelseries 9h, Steelseries Sibera v3, or hyperx cloud. Which headset picks up the least amount of background noise? It's okay if i have to change the microhpone settings a bit as long as background noise is reduced while my voice is still picked up
-
Okay so here's my problem, I can't figure it out but when I lower the volume for game (on the mixer) completely on SteelSeries' Cross Platform Audiomixer, there is still some sound being played through the voice (on the mixer). For those who don't know what this audiomixer does, it separates the volume for game and voice (vent, mumble, etc.) audio. That way I can universally adjust the game and voice volume on-the-fly rather than manually lower the volume for every game to hear my friend speak . My Setup: The mic connects through USB which I plugged in the back of my PC, my headphones are plugged in the front since my speakers are setup in the back. The headphones can be connected through the USB but I prefer the 3.5mm jack. Drivers/Programs: Realtek HD Audio Sound Blaster Cinema 2 USB PnP Sound Device (from SteelSeries) Personal Troubleshooting: So far disabling mic monitoring in Windows (which I need since they're closed headsets and I feel like my ears are popped without them when talking) and turning down the headset volume within Windows volume mixer seems to be the only solution to stop it from playing through the voice side. My speakers are off so mic is not picking any background audio, and I disabled Stereo Mix. Since the USB also sets up the headphones in playback (besides the jack one), I disabled it so there's no background audio being picked up from the mic, however, I got curious and enabled it to disable the sound with in the properties menu and the audio stopped playing through voice. Even though I fixed it and the audio only comes out through game, I couldn't hear myself anymore when I spoke so I had to enable the volume again. In other words, disabling the USB headphones in playback does nothing but disabling the volume with in the levels tab disables mic monitoring. If anyone is up for the challenge or perhaps it's so simple that it went over my head, your help would be appreciated.

Flashing back to October, I got a pair of Steelseries Siberia Elite Prisms. In this review I will be telling you just if these headphones are worth the 200$ USD Steelseries sells them for. The Headset You'll find that the headsets themselves actually do have great build quality. Coming from a user of the Siberia V2 Headset, I found the metal frame and cushioned suspension band to be a welcome change. Originally, I thought the ear cups wear monstrous compared to the V2 headset, but you'll find them to be some what comfortable. I say 'Some what' because the inner chamber of the ear cups are a bit shallow. Depending on ear size, you might find your ears touching the back of the ear cups. This can be pretty uncomfortable 2 hours into a gaming session. Things also tend to get a bit hot, but I wouldn't say it's only a minor thing a best. Looking on the side of the headset, you find sliders on each end allowing you to change volumes and mute the built-in mic. You also are given an additional jack to share audio with a friend next to you. The box comes with a selection of cables to fit different needs. However, features like dolby and RGB illumination won't work unless connected via micro usb to the sound card. Sound Quality + Software While I'm not an audiophile of any sort, I still thought it best to through in my two cents concerning the audio of the Siberia elite Prisms. I found the overall sound stage to be a HUGE help while gaming. Particularly in CS:GO, I could pin point enemy location and footsteps even when my teammates couldn't. Listening to music is a different story. Volume doesn't seem to go high and sound easily bleeds out the headset at mid to high volumes. Using the sound card provided in packaging, you'll be able to equalize and create profiles for each game/application. Bass is a bit heavy, but nothing to complain about at least for me. Being a gaming headset, I don't really mark points off for music listening. The Steelseries engine brings few words to my head. You won't find to much to complain about. It allows you to change LED options (Pulse, Steady, etc), you can enable sidetone, alter volume levels, equalizes audio. While it is a bit buggy sometimes, I would say it works just fine. The Microphone + Sound card Here is were things take a turn for the worse. To start things off, lets talk about the microphone. Owning the Siberia V2 headset made years ago, I expected the Siberia Elite Prisms to outclass the v2s in microphone quality easily. These expectations were crushed. The Siberia Elite Prisms did not match up with the V2 headset at all. This is for several reasons. 1). The microphone quality is disappointing, White noise is present with and without the sound card and speech sounds like I'm speaking through a can almost. I find it hard to describe with words, so I suggest you listen to an audio test of both the Elite Prisms and the V2 headsets. 2). The sound card is defective. Speaking with friends a day out the box, we discovered a clicking noise. It gets loud to the point I have to leave calls sometimes. Originally steelseries promised a firmware fix on the next update. Hearing this, I waited only to find no fix within the patch notes. Dwelling on the subreddit, customers were told that this was an issue with the sound card, Upon contact for a replacement sound card, Steelseries claims to no longer be producing a replacement parts for the card. This means you will have to RMA the entire headset. This would be all fine and dandy if steelseries actually provided you with a fixed soundcard, but they seem to just be sending out the same broken batch. So here we have no revision sound cards being made for a 200$ flagship headset that is still being sold today. This means you will effectively be purchasing a defective product until further notice. I can not recommend this headset knowing this and suggest you do not buy the Siberia Elite Prisms. Quote of myself: Sub reddit post regarding sound card defect: http://www.reddit.com/r/steelseries/comments/2lkhu7/faq_siberia_elite_prism_clicking_microphone/ Conclusion Until further notice, I do not recommend purchasing this headset. Outside of the defect, you'll find Great build quality and OK sound accompanied by bad microphone quality. For 200$ your money is best kept or spent on a different product. NOTE: Pictures will be added tomorrow.

Which steelseries headset is the best? Any other recommendations on headsets? Anywhere I could get a plantronics gamecom commander for cheaper than $200?

So I've bought the Siberia elite prism from steelseries. Its great but i notised something wierd. When I enable the Dolby function in the software, the sound change. If i pause and unpause videos on youtube where people are talking over and over they sound like robots. Its really wierd, I dont know if its only my headset. Have any other siberia elite prism ovners noticed this?

Hey guys this is my first ever post on this forum and I hope you guys can help me out. Well I have come to a point in my life where I am in desperate need of a headset. My question is can you guys suggest me any headset that is PS4 and PC compatible? On PC main use would be just relaxed gaming and Team Speak with my friends. On PS4 it's for using Party chat with my friends and when I need to keep the volume down. I am in no means an audiophile so I don't need any special full suround Dolby HD stuff. My max budget is €100 and the preferable thing I would like to see is a microphone that isn't muddy and ok audio. Since this is my first descent headset ever I guess anything would do. Thank you guys in advance and happy holidays -Jeff

So just recently I could hear annoying static sounds in my headset while listening to music, gaming, and others. What's up with this?
-
I'm by no means an audiophile so I came here to see if i can get some help. I mostly listen to music and play games. So last weekend I bought the HyperX Cloud headset (it was 60$, why not) instead of the SteelSeries Siberia V2 Frost Blue. I plugged it into the rear i/o of the motherboard and was testing them out. I was really disappointed with how they sound, my headset that im using right now, a pair of Rosewill RHTS-8206 that sound more clearer and louder, even at 30% volume and with them falling apart, compared to the HyperX Cloud at 100% volume. I was also hearing a lot of static with the HyperX cloud them aswell and was thinking about returning them and getting a refund. I've heard that they require more power and a sound card or amp would be needed in order to get the most out of them as my motherboards (an Asrock 970 extreme4 ) onboard sound isnt that great. I was looking at some sound cards for a bit and wanted to know which one of these would work great for the HyperX Cloud if I keep them. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829102048 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16886112001 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829132052 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829132073 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829132067 So what do you guys on the LTT forum reccomend I do? Buy a sound card for the HyperX Cloud and hope they sound great? Or return them and buy the Siberia v2 and hope those sound good with no sound card. I'm really trying to like the HyperX Cloud but they just dont sound that great in this situation and are currently just boxed away in my closet. Thanks for reading.

TLDR: Great product, I was blown away after upgrading from a set of Siberia V2's and would highly recommend them to anyone looking into getting this product. They are rather low in terms of bass output when compared to bass heavy alternatives such as the Razer Electra or anything Beats related but as a result everything else seems clearer and easier to recognize / distinguish. Background I've been listening to music all my life like many people, I also fall into the gamer group of individuals which has commonly resulted in purchases from Logitech, SteelSeries and Razer. In addition to that I commonly listen to anything I enjoy ranging from instrumental / classical to electronic music but most specifically Trance, Drum and Bass, Rock and Acoustic. Given the background I have with music and my priorities as a gamer I have typically chosen products based on comfort and features specific to gaming (integrated microphones, low weight, comfort for extended periods of time). Many of my choices I made under the assumption that I was getting an excellent audio experience which has changed after this recent purchase. I am also using on-board audio and am unsure if a soundcard or headphone AMP would make my experience with any of the products mentioned any better. The headset I am most experienced with is the SteelSeries Sibera v2 which I've been using for a while so many of my comparisons will be made to this product. Audio Quality Coming from one of the most popular gaming headsets (Steelseries Siberia v2) the M50s are a huge step above what I was used to and expecting. I tested this product by listening to the normal music I listen to and some songs I am extremely common with and I was blown away by the additional instruments and clarity of the vocals I was experiencing with the M50's. One example I can use is Gravity by A Perfect Circle, with the SteelSeries Siberia v2 the drums sound decent (or what I used to consider good) but after switching to the M50's I can now hear each individual hit of the drums and can clearly make out the difference between every single sound. In the same exact song Maynard's voice is so unbelievably deep in parts of the song that I got goosebumps listening to it on my walk home from work tonight as in the years that I have listened to this song I have never noticed how deep his voice actually gets in parts of this song and was caught off guard as a result. I then decided to try another song I was common with and this time I chose Alone Tonight by Above and Beyond, listening to this song has always been an enjoyable experience with my Siberia's, moving up to the M50's I once again started noticing things I had never noticed before due to the clarity of every single sound being outputted by the M50's. There are several parts of the song that I enjoyed and I could never really put my finger on it but listening to it again with the M50's there is some piano in it which I am fond of. Another example is the lyric which is repeated (I wouldn't be standing here alone tonight) throughout the song, before I would hear it maybe four times max when it repeated and it would blend in with the rest of the song, with the M50's at parts it feels like I hear this specific lyric two or three more times but due to how quiet it was I wasn't hearing it on the Siberia's. These two songs caused me to rethink just how I was listening to music and changed how I viewed many of my old favorites, I have found a new love for many songs that before I was fond of but wasn't deadly in love with, because of this I feel like for every year I was listening to music without a high quality product like the M50's I was doing my ears a disservice. I was absolutely blown away by the quality, I can hear so many things that I just wasn't able to hear before and as a result I am geekishly carrying my M50's around and getting all of my friends to try them and see if they can tell a difference in an effort to see if anyone else has the same experience I did with my switch to these. Since getting these I have been re-experiencing many of my old favorites, I've found a new love for a lot of videos that include Two Steps from Hell compositions and anything with Jeremy Soule has been reborn and is a pleasure to experience with my ears with examples being Two Steps from Hell - Heart of Courage and Fear Not This Night by Jeremy Soule which were both two songs I enjoyed previously but have come to enjoy much more with a higher quality set of headphones. There are several other things I've noticed in the short time I've had my M50's such as in the game League of Legends there is a noise that occurs when you move your potion from one inventory slot to the other which I was unaware of with my Siberia's, this wasn't the only thing I noticed as several times throughout the course of several league matches I was hearing various noises I had never heard in League of Legends before as they had simply blended in with my previous headphones. Another game example if World of Warcraft which I've played for nearly a decade, I have always found the music rather annoying in the game and have always muted it but since switching to my M50's I have found a new love for it as it's really good at amplifying what is going on around you in a specific area making the experience more enjoyable as a whole. Comfort The Audio-Technica ATH-M50's are comfortable but there is some noticeable clamping when using them which is extremely noticeable when compared to the SteelSeries Sibera V2. I expect that after a while they will eventually break in and the comfort will improve as with all headphone / headsets but for the first little while I am more than expecting a number of headaches caused by the clamping of this product which I will deal with in exchange for the audio quality. The only other comfort related issue I have noticed is that these get rather hot due to the material used on the ear cups and the rather closed design of the M50's and due to these reasons this product isn't amazing in terms of comfort but is more than acceptable and may even become more comfortable as time goes on which if this occurs I will be sure to update this review / thread with any additional feedback I have. They aren't as comfortable as the SteelSeries Sibera V2's but are more comparable to the Razer Electra's which had some clamping which was less of an issue after about 45 - 55 hours of being on my head. In terms of Audio Quality they are leagues better than the Electra's however. Final Thoughts I purchased the M50's with the purpose of replacing my Sibera's with a better product in terms of audio quality and thus far I have been more than impressed by what has been offered by the Audio-Technica M50's and due to this I am more than willing to provide these with my personal recommendation which to the people I know in real life may cause a few upgrades for people in the future. As for everyone else these are a terrific product and I would highly recommend them, I found them on sale for $140 from Amazon.ca (used the TechTips Referral Link ) which for that price I am more than happy to recommend them to people looking for a pair of headphones they can use for music, gaming and watching movies with it's strength lying primarily in audio accuracy / music listening.

Hey there LTT-community, I am owning the SteelSeires Siberia Elite headset and it is really awesome! The sound is great, they are really comfy and stuff... but the mic is getting me Friends are complaining about some weird robotic sounds coming from me, like, I would communicate with aliens or stuff. my guess is, that something is interefering with the mic signal, but I just dont know what and I dont know what do to against it. I dont wanna send the headset back, since it fits my needs, but if no one can help me... then I might have to. I am asking their support too and I will keep you updated about what they think it is and stuff but if they can't help me either, please at least give me some sort of advice what it might can be or something like that.
