Hey, I currently have a pair of hyperx cloud 2's that have served me faithfully for the past few years and until the mic died and I had to buy a dedicated one, headset still works great. It's perfectly good for my desktop but a bit too bulky to carry around if I need to take them to work. For my phone and laptop I use my huawei freebuds pro and they are great for listening to music etc on a commute or at the gym but they just don't have the battery life to use them for a full work day. I've been looking at the sennheiser momentum 4 that I can get on sale right now for about 250€ or the Sony xm5 that are a bit out of budget for 350€ Are the senheisers a good é ought upgrade over the cloud II to justify spending the money? What other options should I look at? (preference for stuff available at pcdiga.com) My requirements would be audio quality superior to the cloud II and portability. I'm also big headed I had a pair of audio technica bt3? I think that broke due to my head being too wide so that is a consideration. Any help from audio nerds is welcomed and appreciated

Audio noob here. I've had these forever and adore them. About a year or two ago I hooked them into the fiio+e10k. My birthday is coming up and was trying to see if these are competent enough for me to properly drive these headphones or if I should shoot for something more potent. I know a lot of people stand by the Schiit Magni 3. Just looking for a second opinion. Apologies for the general question and thanks in advance.
-
Edit- Recommendations for Fiio were all over the place and this is the only product of theirs I could find available, will this cut it or too underpowered? -https://www.amazon.in/FiiO-BTR1K-Headphone-Bluetooth-Receiver/dp/B07JM5ZQPF/ref=sxin_0_ac_d_rm?ac_md=0-0-Zmlpbw%3D%3D-ac_d_rm&cv_ct_cx=fiio&dchild=1&keywords=fiio&pd_rd_i=B07JM5ZQPF&pd_rd_r=cb24a42d-ac22-415a-80f8-14974b8ece00&pd_rd_w=DHVDV&pd_rd_wg=HCRLh&pf_rd_p=db70632f-7954-4e73-a9ee-5cfefdeeb068&pf_rd_r=GH391W8X2Y1D0XJVY0RQ&psc=1&qid=1590823396&sr=1-1-fe323411-17bb-433b-b2f8-c44f2e1370d4 Sorry if I sound ignorant, it's because I am. I am getting an HD 599 as my employer is bearing the cost coz of the COVID situation and how we all have to stay at home and attend meetings. The 599s were the best choice in my area according to the amount being covered under the policy, recommendations and availability at this time in my area. That being said, I am completely unaware if I need an external/Internal DAC or amp. I dont even know what the difference between those two things are and this is after trying to research, lol. Will I be able to run them off my motherboard or Front audio for a while and get the amp/ DAC later? I have an MSI B450 Tomahawk Max. I am not an audiophile(yet) so I don't much know about all the subtle intricacies I could hear in audio. I just need clear audio, and not be disappointed by the volume just coz I am not able to provide enough power to it. I will basically use them for gaming and watching YouTube, Netflix, maybe a movie here and there. For now, I just wanna know if I will be able to run them off my current setup, maybe even with a software to boost/enhance audio or not. If yes to software, which one? And if I absolutely had to buy something, recommendations for budget offerings would be highly recommended. I live in India, so many of the options listen in the megathread are not available or are out of stock. Last thing, lol. How do I know if the heafphones are not being delivered enough jiuce to run at their peak perfomance? Thanks in advance, love the forum.

Hey guys my headset recently broke and I have been looking into getting a new one and so far it has been a very daunting task to take on. As all the headsets I have owned have been "Gaming" ones, but I have heard many times that Headphones are the much better choice. So I have narrowed it down to either the Senheiser HD598 Sr or the Cs variant. I will mostly be using these headphones for gaming but also along with music use, so please share your experience with either of these headphones or give me your insight on closed or open backed headphones. Thanks for helping guys!

I'm giving up on blaming other things for breaking headphones, within 8 months i have broken two sets of senheiser CX3.00 and the AKG headphones that come with the S8 in exactly the same way. only one channel works unless you hold the cable in a certain way right at the 3.5mm headphone jack. Since i don't have the time to re-solder a new jack on them and senheiser's warranty service is laughable i need to buy another pair. What's the best yet cheapest set of senheiser or AKG earbuds i can get with a detachable cable? I want to stick with brands that i know. I've tried zip ties and glue to hold the AKG set just right but now it looks like a gave it 20 years worth of cancer... but it works at least........

Hi guys, I just bought a pair of Senheiser HD 598 SR and I also happen to have a bunch of album in FLAC quality. so far I've just plugged them into my Motherboard because why not (I mean the volume is High enough and I don't need to plug them to my Speaker pre-amp (found in the dumpster, that I use to spike the volume of a standalone speaker I also found in the dump years ago and it's just a Mono speaker used on old CRT Television..)https://i.imgur.com/TACd36B.jpg https://i.imgur.com/gkNBMCA.jpg but since I have a Maximus V Formula with the SupremeFX audiocard(chip?) on board I thought what the heck, let's give it a try! I attached the screen of the DTS UltraPC II screen, I enabled it and it just feels like it spiked up a bit the volume and tones (like the Loud setting on the equalizer so to speak) but I can't tell if it's actually improving music or not) https://i.imgur.com/IVSCcNp.png I mean, should I just left the Equalizer on disabled and enjoy the FLAC music as it comes or I'm supposed to turn on those auto features to get the best out of it? I'm not looking for perfection, those headphones sounds wayyy crispy than the current setup I'm used to as you can see. it's just that since I have this sound card I'm like: why not use it good at least?! so what are you guys suggestion? Just leave everything disabled and listen to normal music or tweak something on the control panel? (or if there's a better software to tweak them)

I was wondering if I should use my leftover usb sound card from by G430s for a pair of HD 598 CS or would it just be better to use my on board audio? Also I will not be purchasing a dac or amp because the CS model of the 598s are rated at 23 ohms.

I'm looking forward to buy a new headphones for musics. I'm really looking forward to upgrade my litsening experience, and with my budget ($120-150), There are 2 options: m50x & HD.4.40 BT. Many says The m50x has superior sound quality, and slightly better build quality. But the senheiser has good sound too, plus it has bt. If you want to bt, buy they HD 4.40 right? It's not that simple... I want a Flat sound signature, and the m50x will deliver that woth no problem. The Senheiser (according to internet rewiews), has bass boost. I listen to 60% acoustic songs, and 40% dj, pop, heavy, rock, or other genre with many bass stuff. So, i thought the bass boost on the HD 4.40 Could (maybe) disturb the audio balance. Which one should i get? The HD 4.40 has a bluetooth, but the m50x has better sound. If you have the HD 4.40BT, tell me of the bass is disturbing the balance, If it's not, I think i'm going with HD.4.40BT. But, if you have a better option for me, let me know! Thanks!

Looking into buying a new set of headphones(Actually this will be my first pair as I've always used in-ear earphones). I will most likely be using it to play music mostly from my phone and some gaming. I would like to know how these 3 perform in terms of clarity and would it be worth it to overlook both the Senheiser and the House of Marley in favour of the Steel Series as its the only one here that I know of that's capable of 7.1 surround sound when hooked up to the PC. Also I am fully aware that the price of the Good Vibrations 2 doesn't match the other two in price but if it is comparable in any way I may consider it as an option as saving a few bucks would be appreciated.

Hello! I am looking to buy headphones, that are better than my current ones. I currently have the Urbanears Plattan, which are on-ear headphones and after a while my ear hurts. (Not like the ear canal, but the outside of the ear.) My choices are: Senheiser HD 201 and Senheiser HD 202 I'm looking for over-ear headphones, by the way. I know the 202s are probably better, but I am interested in the overall sound quality (not audiophile-level), ergonomics (do your ears get tired after wearing them), and a bit of looks. All kinds of answers are welcome and actually well awaited. Disclaimer: I'm not willing to order from amazon or any other online store. Because shipping to Latvia is just so much hassle and expensive. Plus, I don't want to wait.

This is going to sound like an ad placement, but I'm being completely serious. I bought closed backed headphones (TakStar Pro 80s) just a few weeks ago. I asked around and I was told that HD 558s were the headphone recommendation of choice, but still went with the Pro 80s. I need reassurance that the $102 is completely justifiable, and that I didn't make a mistake. If so, I can still cancel my order. As for how I got the deal: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_73923_Sennheiser-HD-558.html Coupon Code: 15SAVE

Hey everyone, I'm looking for a good but relatively cheap pair of earbuds since my thinksound earbuds are breaking. I'm leaning towards the Senheisers, but I'm wondering if I should look at anything else. I won't use them while running, so don't worry about that. Also, is the asymmetrical cord length on the senheisers good or bad? I've never had earbuds like that before. Thanks, Jacob

Hi Guys! I was looking for some help/advice i buying a new pair of head phones. The price isn't a major problem up to about £400 (US$650.0). I watched the Linus video on the HD8 DJs and have heard him talk about them and that they have amazing audio quality so they have really peaked my interest but so have the custom one pros so I could do with someone who is better informed on the subject to shine some light on the matter. If you have any other options it would be most appreciated! Thank you!
