My friends build had a 1050ti before this with a Ryzen 5 3400g, now he upgraded to a 4070. The BIOS had to be updated before the install so he tells me (he went to a local PC shop to get it installed) We're incredibly disappointed by the performance and were wondering if any of you could help. We suspect the RAM being the issue due to its low speed, but can't be sure if the GPU really is this bottlenecked by the CPU. The things we've tried: -Clean driver installs -Enabling Hardware accelerated GPU scheduling in windows -Updating windows -Reinstalling all the games and nvidia programs At 1080p: (Both Cyberpunk demos had a mix of mostly medium and high with DLSS Performance mode on) -Cyberpunk 2077 Frame Gen on, RT Off in-game benchmark has average fps be 84, minimum 25, max of 141 (tho in actual gameplay we saw closer to 30-40 in the open world around 70-90 indoors) -Cyberpunk Frame Gen off , RT Off in-game benchmark has average fps 51, minimum 13, max 85 (again in actual gameplay it felt significantly lower than the benchmark) -Riders Republic with ultra settings and AA set at medium the in-game benchmark average fps 43, minimum 7 and max 60 -Fortnite at its Epic preset was very stuttery, jumping up and down between 30 and 60fps, took ages to load in one match. -Apex Legends set at all max settings, tripple buffered vsync, reflex+boost enabled, TSAA enabled basically locked at 60 - Spiderman Miles Morales was a complete mess, barely climbing out of 30s at all high RT off In all of those examples the CPU was going at all times around 100& while the GPU was chilling around 30-50% utilisation The screenshot was taken before we enabled XMP PSU is a Corsair CV650 So we're looking for your help to explain this odd behaviour, or if its to be expected with the specs

I have a Ryzen 5 3400g for a CPU and I bought a 1660 super but I am not getting the performance I was expecting. Does anyone know if the problem could be my CPU bottlenecking my GPU?

so I have a ryzen 5 3400g that seems to prefer popos or manjaro graphically wise, but then spits the dummy with wifi, mint 20 has graphical issues unless you goto recovery mode then normal boot this happens with kernel 5.4 and 5.11 but has better wifi. im at a loss as to what to do. run windows you say.......... problem is windows 10 goes into an "update install fail" that lasts anywhere from 30 mins to 3hrs, does several reboots to install then remove said update, it was doing this daily. popos wifi cuts in and out every 20 mins to an hour, so gaming is out of the question. manjaro looses signal strength before cutting out, around every 10 mins debian live cd wont even get to a gui screen. mint gives "in picture, in picture, in picture" artefact starting from the menu button (bottom left corner) going across the screen on a diagnal, requires power button reboot, but wifi doesnt cut out. so anyone got any ideas of either another linux distro that might work, or someway of fixing one of the above?

Good day to everyone, I am very new to this and I really need help on gathering information on what CPU fan would be great for my setup: Motherboard: MSI A320M PRO-VH CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3400 g with Radeon Vega 11 Graphics RAM: 8 gb Location: Philippines, and the ambient temp or room temp is normally around 28 or 30 degree Celsius (I don't know what information I should provide in order to get the best answers but generally here they are) P.S. If there would be something affordable yet delivers greatly in lowering temperatures and also quiet, that would be really great but affordable to mid range price is very fine.

So currently, due to the GPU shortage, and its high demand with high prices, I bought this great APU for my first ever Gaming Build. However, I am planning to pair this CPU with a GPU. (And another however is that soon when I get to earn money and stuff, I am planning to buy a new Motherboard, PSU, CPU, GPU, CPU Fans and some System Fans, in which if you would like you can also give me some advice on what to buy. However the main concern would be regarding what would be a nice GPU to pair with this CPU of mine) I am a newbie when it comes to what parts I should buy, so I need your help!! And since I also am seriously new to this, will this information be enough? Current Build Specs: Motherboard: MSI A320M PRO-VH CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3400g with Radeon Vega 11 Graphics Location: Philippines (I added this since perhaps the location may be helpful to get more accurate results from you guys?) ~~May GPU's stock rise and may their prices decrease~~

I have an MSI B450 Tomahawk Max motherboard and a Ryzen 5 3400g processor. I can't boot until I update the BIOS with the flash BIOS option and a USB drive with the correct BIOS. I've been using the correct BIOS and renaming the file to "MSI.ROM" but every single time without fail I'll plug in the USB, turn on the power supply, push the flash BIOS button, and nothing happens. If I remove the usb and push the button, the light flashes three times and then stays off and from what I read, that means it doesn't detect the USB which would make sense since there's nothing plugged in. I have it plugged into the correct USB port and it must be recognizing it right since it doesn't flash three times with the USB plugged in? I've tried everything and searched everywhere on the internet and talked to MSI, nothing has worked so far. Also I've tried this with and without the CPU and RAM installed, no difference there. Edit: The system does NOT and has NOT ever booted, the CPU is good I tested it in another system.

Hello everyone, I am using Ryzen 5 3400g apu with 4x2=8GB ram.I am seeing a lot of people making this build with 8X2=16GB ram making me anxiety that maybe I am not getting full performance from my apu due to low ram.As I have only 2 ram slot motherboard I have to buy pair of 8GBs to make it dual channel also have to lose current dual 4gbs second hand market price is very low in my country. So I am asking if I shift 8gb to 16gb will that make that much performance upgrade or I should my money for gpu instead? Thankyou

Budget (including currency): 30000 INR Country: India Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Casual offline Gaming. Other details: Target 1080p, 75 FPS need GPU to pair with Ryzen 5 3400G Current Configuration: Processor- Ryzen 5 3400G Mother Board: MSI B450m PRO-VHD MAX Ram: Hyper X Fury 16 GB 3000 single stick ram SSD: Kingston A400 240GB HDD: WD Blue 2TB PSU: Corsair VS600 80 Plus Case: Ant Esports ICE-211TG Mid Tower Computer Case Monitor 0: Dell 21.5-inch LED Backlit Full HD, 60 Hz. Monitor 1: ViewSonic Mainstream Monitor (24") Full HD (1080), 75 Hz, I Build my first computer in 15 years. I needed a system for WFH and laptop wasn't just cutting it (Need to login to web based consoles) and little gaming on the side doesn't hurt anyone. I was on a tight budget and GPU were extremely expensive so I opted for APU instead. Initially planned on getting a AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G but those were hard to get by, Instead I found a great combo deal on Prime ABGB for Ryzen 5 3400g with MSI B450 Pro-VDH max motherboard. Didn't knew 2 rams are better than one and got a Hyper X Fury 16 GB 3000 single stick ram. I went with 3000Mhz as Ryzen 5 3400g supports max 2933MHz. I got Ant Esports Case and a Corsair VS600 80 Plus Certified PSU as they were on offer as well. Kingston A400 240GB SSD as it was the cheapest option. Later added a 2TB WD Blue. Now I am thinking about purchasing a GPU as the prices are coming down. I know that 3400g will cause major bottle neck on modern GPU and since I only have PCIe 3rd gen, I don't even consider RX6500XT. I am considering following GPUs RTX 2060 GTX 1660 Super / 1660 Ti I don't have any immediate plan on upgrade CPU but might consider in another year or so. Any suggestion is appreciated. Thank you.

Hello! For my pc build, i have a tight budget of about 35000 Indian Rupee (500 USD), excluding the monitor and peripherals. i was wondering if i should go for an apu, the Ryzen 5 3400g with integrated Radeon Vega 11 graphics, or if i should go for the Ryzen 5 1600AF paired with an 8GB Video Memory RX580 graphic card. i plan on gaming only, no streaming or competitive esports gaming. i want to be able to run games coming in the next one or two years as well like Cyberpunk 2077 and Assassin's Creed Valhalla. what option should i go for? p.s. im more naturally inclined towards getting the ryzen 1600af with the rx580 but i want to know if the 3400g would be suitable for my needs as well. thanks!

So. I was playing some Battlefield 4 for about 90 mins, then suddenly, I hear a little "click" and both screens got black and pc goes off. It wont post, the 3 fans starts, the blue light of front panel goes on, but not post. So I think it was some overheat protection. Let cooldown for a while and try turn on again, wont post. Let's remove both sticks of ram, and put it in again, try remove the bios battery for 5 mins and let the power button pressed for a minute... Wont post, at this point i was very scared cus i need to work you know and this corona situation dont make it better. Then, i put all together again, but first put the cheap metal case in the ground (maybe static electricity...) then put back into the table again and connect it all, and... It post, the mf post and turn on again as if nothing happen. Then... I turned off to connect a two pin fan I forgot to connect... Then WONT POST AGAIN... So im here sit in my chair asking why all this is happening... Maybe more overheat? I have to say yesterday i have to put apart the power supply becouse the fan failed and the temp go crazy to the point the thing starts smell to burn circuit. The psu is a very cheap 750w one, so maybe can ve that. Idk, for now im going to sleep. If anyone of you guys have a siggestion... Thank you. Pd: my pc specs: Ryzen 5 3400g overclock to 1 volt and 3750mhz (defaults are 0.88 volts and 3700mhz) 2x8gb generic ram sticks Some cheap chinese psu of 750w Mb Asrock A320M HDV (yes it has the latest bios version)
