When: Within the next 3 months. I have work projects that will require it in roughly 4/5 months time. Budget (including currency): £3000 (willing to start with 1 GPU if I need to to stay in this budget as I will be able to add the second later) Country: United Kingdom Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: I am a self employed software engineer in need of a powerful new machine. In my job I do a lot of ML/AI and I am trying to build a PC with that in mind. I've done some research and it seems that 2 3090s is the best price to performance for the amount of VRAM I need. A lot of the software I write is heavily multithreaded and much of the ML I do requires significant preprocessing that can only be done on the CPU. This means I need a CPU with around 12-16 cores to be able to keep up with the GPUs. The main struggles I am having are working out the correct CPU + motherboard combos that meet these requirements and have enough PCIe lanes to support them (with at least one NVME SSD). I also have very little idea about appropriate cooling. I do play some games (DOTA2, Factorio, CIV) but nothing too demanding. Other details: I currently have 2 monitors, 2560 x 1440 and a 1920 x 180, nothing fancy but it works well for my workflow. They both suport HDMI and VGA inputs. The 1440p has inbuilt speakers that I use. I would also like to have a wifi card as currently I have to use one of my external USB ports for one and it gets in the way. USB-C ports are also a must. Ideally it would also look nice if possible, a case with glass would be my preference. I'm a fan of all white or all black builds, but aesthetics are secondary.

game server Home Gaming Server (Rust, 7 Days To Die)
Kuroo posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
Budget (including currency): $500.00 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Rust Server and 7 Days To Die Server Other details: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ksxHWt I was looking to buy my own small form factor case by running a server from home for me and friends and family to play from. I wanted to get some input to my build list to see if it can be improved from what I have. Please do let me know if you can give any input or ideas. Best, Kuroo -
Hi all! Just got the rads for my second ever water cooled build, 3x Hardware Labs Nemesis 420 GTXs, and was surprised to see a bunch of reddish/orange stuff down the ports. I'm aware that all rads need to be flushed to remove flux and other manufacturing residue, but this seems a bit weird? It's been a few years since my last build, but I don't recall the rads I used then (EK CoolStream XE 360, Hardware Labs Nemesis 280GTS XFLOW) looking so dirty. The reddish/orange rust/corrosion looking stuff in particular is concerning to me. In each rad one of the ports (the more recessed one) looks a lot worse, with much more orange stuff. The other one has some orange, but mostly just silver drops that I assume are flux or some other manufacturing gunk. I see a lot of posts elsewhere answering similar questions saying it's normal, but the reasoning fluctuates wildly. Most say it's just normal copper oxidation but then proceed to say that would be green where this looks more like iron rust (red/orange). I guess it starts reddish and changes to green over time? I got all 3 rads brand new from the same vendor and they all look more or less the same. The boxes were pretty dusty like they've sat around a long time. One other strange thing was the specs on the back of the box had one line covered up with black tape. I took the tape off and saw the covered up line says "Custom Dark Matter™ high quality finish", which is what they list on the HWLabs site. The rads do not have the same textured finish shown on the HWLabs site. It's a very smooth, matte black. That's not really an issue for me, but I do find it odd and it makes me wonder if these are old inventory or something? TL:DR; Do these look like normal ports for brand new, unflushed rads? PS: Sorry that the focus is completely off. Phone will not focus inside the port with enough distance to shine light in so you can actually make out what's in there.

Budget (including currency): $1300-$1500 Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: RUST Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): N/A Helping a friend with his first PC Build, he loves to play rust the laptop he plays on now only gets like 25 FPS so I want to help him build something that will get a solid 60 FPS. He also lives in a small apartment with no desk so I'm thinking this should be a micro atx or some other small form factor PC console size PC for his living room, he has no mouse or keyboard, I think his best bet is a small form factor PC for his living room with extra budget going towards a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard, the pc should also have onboard WIFI or a WIFI card + Bluetooth, Bluetooth, if this is not possible within the budget I have a Bluetooth dongle I could give him at no charge. If we can save a bunch of budget with a larger form factor please suggest this as I believe budget is more important than form factor, we want to squeeze all the performance we can out of this budget with room for a good bluetooth mouse and keyboard. NOTE: This is the person's first PC so there will be no overclocking

Hey guys. My friend had a gaming pc he wasn't using so when I planned my pc build he offered me his old 980ti for me to use until gpu prices are okay again. The problem is he lives 50m from the sea so the gpu is pretty rusted and my pc won't recognize it. I already verified it's the gpu's problem because the pc works fine with my brother's and mine shard PC's 980ti. I use this pc mainly for work and gaming, but I need a gpu because my cpu has no integrated graphics. The main problem I am facing while trying to clean the rust is the backplate screws are severely rusted so I can't get it off. Any ideas on how I can get those screws off? Thank you all!

Hello, I have been having this issue with my pc for atleast 6 months to a solid year. I mainly play the game Rust and when i do my pc keeps freezeing forcing me to power it off through the power button each time, thus probably not really helping the issue. I play on a pvp server with alot of pop so alot of houses, people and entities and its totally fine. ( Never crashed once ) But when i choose another pvp server or a normal offical server or such it crashes nonstop. It can be the most random time to crash too, walking out in the open with nothing around *crash/ big raid with alot of explosions *crash/ going fishing *crash/ I would REALLY appreciate help on this because this is causing so much frustration its unreal. Specs CPU: Ryzen 3400g boost 4.3ghz GPU: Nvidia gtx 660 ti boost 2gb ( yes im at minimum req for the game but have been playing like this for 4.5 years ) 16 gb 3600 mhz ram b450 mortar max motherboard SSD 500 gb ( windows installed ) HDD 500 gb Andersson psu 600w ( potential to cause crashes maybe? ) Errors im aware of, Kernal EventTracing, Device Setup Manager and Security SSP those have pretty much been existing the whole problem duration. ( Especially Kernal EventTracing ) Sorry for the long post but wanted to give as much info as possible! Help would be Greatly appreciated, Regards Harley!

Hi, so i built a pc with these specs one year ago: CPU: amd ryzen 5 3600 3.6GHz 35MB GPU: asus rog RTX 3070 strix Motherboard: msi mag b550 tomahawk RAM: Corsair 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3000MHz CL16 PSU: EVGA GQ 850W Disc: Samsung 970 PRO 512GB Disc 2: Samsung 970 EVO 500GB It is working good on all games and has no crashes or blue screens except for on one game, the only one i am playing "rust". There is only one issue with the game and that is fps. I can not get over 60 fps no matter what settings i use or how i config the computer. I think i am able to say that i have actually tried EVERYTHING (reinstalling, lowering settings, copying settings from friend, etc). My monitor is 1080P (1920x1080) so there should really be no problem and i should get around 150fps easily on max settings. When trying to find a solution i found out that my cpu is working at 30% and GPU at only 35% when playing the game. Does anyone have a similar problem or any solution please help!

Hey everyone! I decided to come here to ask for help because I feel like I tried everything and I really want to fix this. So when playing rust the game just freezes sometimes it blackscreens for a seconds and the event viewer says Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered. It's really annoying since if I'm streaming the stream goes offline because the GPU appears disconnected for a brief moment. My PC specs are: - Ryzen 9 3900X - ROG Strix x570-E Gaming motherboard (BIOS version 4021) - 2x 8GB 3600Mhz DDR4 F4-3600C18D-16GTZR RAM - 2x 8GB 3600Mhz DDR4 F4-3600C18D-16GTZRX RAM (I added more RAM in late August 2021 that's why it's not the exact same model number) - Gigabyte Aorus RTX 3080 Ti Xtreme 12GB (switch is on BIOS OC mode) - 1TB Crucial P1 nvme m.2 SSD - Corsair RM1000X 80 Plus Gold PSU Running the latest update of Windows 10 (checked February 20th 2022) So a little back story: I bought the GPU brand new from Amazon in late August 2021 and at the same time ordered 16GB more RAM. I first encountered this game hang issue in New World, the game would freeze but the audio was still there and I could sometimes still move in game. Task manager would at that moment say that New World is suspended. This issue was fixed by lowering graphics to medium, but with a later update the issue came back, and I haven't fixed it since (I have stopped playing in December tho). The issue didn't repeat until I started playing Rust in January. The game freezes but I still appear online in the game (Task manager says Suspended) or the GPU driver completely crashes, I get a flash of blackscreen and then everything is back to normal. This can happen anywhere bewteen 20 mins in the game to if I'm lucky after 3h in the game. Playing a game like Rust is not fun like this because it has disconnected me during a raid and even 5 minutes of load time can be crucial; not to talk about the stream experience. I've been monitoring the RAM usage and GPU temps and highest RAM usage was about 51% (just a bit over 16GB) and the hottest my GPU has been is around 65 Celsius. I have done multiple things to try and solve this and I googled extensively but couldn't find the solution... I just recently updated the drivers to latest version. When this issue started happening in September when New World Was released I had a 750W PSU and I replaced it with a 1000W PSU hoping that the GPU was lacking power. Since I did have a virus problem about 18 months ago I bought Malwarebyte antivirus and checked the PC for any threats. I completely reinstalled windows but with no fix to this issue. I tried closing the razer app like someone suggested on Nvidia's reddit but that didn't work, I tried PCIE slot settings to "Auto", "GEN 3" and "GEN 4" in BIOS with failed results, but when using "GEN 4" after about 1-2h of streaming Rust my PC blackscreened with some of the elements of my stream still visible on the second monitor and then the PC rebooted. I tried overclocking the GPU, Updating Windows to latest version, I set rust to high priority using Registry Editor, I have 3 seperate cables going from PSU to the GPU (no splitters), I'm running on AMD Balanced Power plan (due to seeing a forum post that AMD systems need this option for rust). I verified the files with steam and I run steam in Admin mode. I'm running out of ideas on what to do but a complete PC reset is still on the table, I just don't wanna do it until I know it will fix the issue. This may sound funny but Fortnite broke my unreal engine some time ago and all of my unreal engine games were crashing and the only thing that helped was a clean PC wipe. Please let me know your Ideas.

Rust insane fps drops. (urgent bc im gonna lose my fkn mind)
Tuies posted a topic in Troubleshooting
i have a ryzen 5 1600, asrock miniatx board (older) a gtx 1060 3gb 16gigs of 2333mghz ram. rust runs at 90 fps usually (on pvp servers. reg ones i get like 60) and drops to as low as 30 fps randomly and stays at 30 for a couple mins then goes back to 90 for a couple mins then back and forth. its super friken anoying. (i hate intel so dont recommend anything intel) also the ingame settings are lowest possible. also im on a sceptre 165 hz(displayport) steelseries apex 7, razer 8k (on 1k hertz setting). this only happens on rust and ive tryed reinstalling it doesnt work. -
Evening, My Rust seems to be very janky in terms of it not reaching the desired frame rate. I have a ryzen 52600 (4ghz) 32gb ram (3200mhz) Gigabyte 6600 XT eagle Nothing seems to max out on my system, apart for my vram (i think) Below attatched are screenshots of my game, and how my pc in performing. Please advise me on what to do to bump up my fps; 40 fps on a system like this really isnt enjoyable. Many Thanks

Hi guys, hope you're all doing well. Recently I encountered an issue with my ryzen 5600x build where my pc would just black screen and restart when starting certain games such as Fortnite, Apex and Rust. After some searching around and troubleshooting I've found the solution for this problem and fixed my build. A lot of people thought it was a psu issue causing the pc to restart, this is probably not the case for you, it's no coincidence that only certain games would cause everyone's pc to restart. Anyways, the solution is do with motherboard bios updates and amd drivers. I have a b550m-k motherboard which I received as a bundle with my 5600x and the bios was very out of date, essentially, this is what was causing my computer crash and restart. I probably didn't explain much in this post so if you'd like me to help you out with your build please reply. I want to do my part and help others who had this same issue. I was thinking of making a youtube tutorial in the future, but for now this is all I have to offer.

Bought a brand new 3080 msi ventus oc, a friend of mine received it and mounted for me since i wasnt at home at the time. So far it has been running fine, maybe a bit hot on games like rdr2 or benchmarks (max temp 81º). A few days later i bumped with a video about gpu corrosion and thought tha the color looked similar to the 3080 picture my friend sent me. And now im in doubt if its corrosion or what, its a sticked into the part of the heatsink showed in the picture (not at all in any place that my vision can reach), i can only take it off by scratching it with my nail. What could this be? Should i be worried? if this helps, when i runned the heaven benchmark for 30 min it didnt surpass 81º and had no problem at all (so far) You can see it going drom the msi logo on the left to the right in the down of the heatsink.

Am I the only one having this problem? I've been playing Rust for years now and I've always done it with low FPS which I was ok with because of my gtx1060 3gb GPU, but I've recently upgraded to a gtx1080 ti and I'm still having the same issue. Is that game so poorly optimized or am I doing something wrong? I don't think that I am because I'm playing games like RDR2 on 1080p ultra without issues.

Hey, This is my current build: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Graymac_12/saved/#view=LHkHzy In rust I get about 55-65 FPS on rust, 75-80 if I'm not near any bases. Task manager says my CPU generally runs at 45% and GPU generally at 35%. I'm wondering if it is worth it to get a Ryzen 5 5600x, or if it is just not worth it to upgrade. Userbenchmark said my computer is running at the expected levels. Thanks

Greetings LTT Forum, This is my first post here on the forum so I'm sorry if it's not in the right caregory but i think this should be the right one. Anyhow, to my question: I'm mostly playing Rust and i know it's a game that isn't optimized at it's finest, but I'm only getting avg 60-80fps and my duo I'm playing with is getting avg 80-110fps when we are on the same server, same position looking at the same direction. To my knowledge (Maybe I'm wrong idk) we should have around the same performance? So I'm wondering, what could i do to make my computer push slightly higher frames? I coudn't help noticing that almost every TimeSpy test with similar spec is running faster ram, from 3200 to 4200Mhz. Could my computer get a slight boost if i purchase something like Kingston 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3600MHz CL17. I don't think i need the 32GB that i have right now since I'm only gaming and I'm running maximum of 10 tabs on chrome when browsing hence why I'm looking for faster 16gb sticks. Iam willing to spend anything for a slight performance boost or is my CPU just old and outdated and i need to swap everything? And no, I'm not limited by thermals and i keep the computer free from dust at all times. My Timespy test: https://www.3dmark.com/spy/27345191 Comparison: https://www.3dmark.com/compare/spy/27345191/spy/24784404/spy/22999205/spy/23116898/spy/25941686/spy/25570781# My friends spec: Ryzen 5 5600X, RX 6700 XT, Corsair DDR4 3600MHz. My spec: i9 9900K, RTX 3070 LHR, Corsair DDR4 2666MHz. Thanks in advance Sincerely, Ice

Hey! About 75% of the time that I launch Rust my computer restarts/power cycles. It gets past the initial loading screen and then it just crashes my computer. I opened Ryzen Master and MSI Afterburner as well as Task Manager to check my usage. All of my temperatures were within normal range and my CPU usage was at about 30%, GPU at 4%, and RAM at 45%. I have a Ryzen 5 5600, Nvidia 2070, ASRock B450 Pro, and 2x8gb DDR4 3600 Mhz ram. Reinstalled my graphics driver and that didn't help. Not sure what to do. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks

Hey there!I have a RX 570 Armor since its launch date.I always cleaned it.But one day i saw that it has rust on the ports thing (sorry i dont know how its called).I tried to remove it with a flat screw driver but i couldn’t remove it all. Idk what to do really

So cleaning my entire system as I'm going to be vertically mounting my new GPU when it gets here (Will also post pics of that as well. drilling into my inwin 808 case and it should be rather sick). Anyways! Cleaning the loop... Gone for a good 18 months or so without a cleaning? It was running distilled water and a few drops of PT Nuke. This is the inside of my rad. I've alread let it soak with 4 parts distilled water and 1 part white vinegar with 5% acidity for 2 hours before rinsing out with distilled boiling water a good 5 times. So yea, this is what the inside walls look like. Upon flushing the rad, I got ZERO gunk coming out... I mean the odd black spec here and there which looks like flux but I mean, I got no significant deposits coming out at all... so am I good? All pics online of oxidation look black but this seems more brown? Just to experiment, I scratched the inside with a nail, just to see how easy this stuff is to remove. You can see the scratch so yea, whatever this is comes off relatively easy. The fittings have it as well and I was able to scrape it off with my fingernail. So yup, all you veterans who've done this before, please, give me your knowledge and thoughts =)
