Hi everybody. I am Bjorn from the netherlands. Aka Blade21 / Blade00021 It's been a long time since i posted a full pc build. I hope you guys like this crazy stupid project! Next to customizing cars and modding them so you can drive your car with a remote control.... I also love building PC's! Clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exAkFbXiorQ WHAT am i building? I decided to build a desk PC. My last PC's where custom Mountain mod's and Danger Den's. I like big cases and many screens So now i wanted to do something different. But it had to be something 'special' / a real eye catcher and functional. After looking for hours around the internet for inspiration from other pc desk builders... i was strucked! There are so many INSANE and beautiful pc desks in the world... No way i could beat those designs. + I have a big desk for my large danger den case and i also do electronics work/ soldering etc. I didn`t liked the idea having a great fancy desk pc. And the desk next to it will be 'normal'. So i dropped the idea for a few months. >> .....Untill i saw the 'desk' from Batman in the movie: Batman vs Superman. I just loved the design! It's big / it has side desks/ and i am pretty sure its one of a kind. How much ROOM would you have for PC stuff! But man...thats a big desk! Can i pull if off? I do a lot of customizing on PC's and cars. But this was something else. However, i was a Laser operator. So i designed and lasercut stuff like acrylic and i can also bend it. So the 'vent' design on the desk should be possible. Wat really pulled me over the line... The desk is suspended from the ceiling. I thought screw it. I am gonna start building it!! Just 1 thing, i want to give it a gamers/ ROG theme. I am sure Batman will love RGB >>> I will show you guys the building progress of this INSANE project. I luv to hear you guys comments! HATE IT? / LUV IT? / INSANITY? > YES! Pictures of the build will follow soon!

Hey guys this is my first time posting to the ltt forums, I'm hoping if anyone can help. The problem is my asus rog strix scar II will dump its charge after being off for a few hours (The percentage of battery displayed doesn't matter) and then it shuts down. Here's recording of what it does . I got the laptop in august 2019, I've tried getting it sorted with asus, but they only replaced the battery (which I suspected wasn't the issue) and the same issues still persists, I'm currently trying to sort it out with asus but they're being a massive pain in the arse about it. P.s. I have a theory that the battery drain could be due to a faulty LED diode on the ROG eye on the back of the screen, but I have yet to test it. Any help would be much appreciated.

Mnpctech posted a gallery image in Members Albums Category
From the album: ASUS ROG Fan Grill

Outer dimension measures 5" x 5" These grill designs raise the bar for your custom PC build. Mount over your front intake, top of your case or side panel. Mounting over rear exhaust fan may require modifying your chassis and side panel. -
So my rog laptop is not turning on at all. It was working just fine yesterday then today it just stoped. I already tried to do a cmos reused and checked if all my hard drives and ram needed to me reinstalled but to no success. All I get when I try to turn it on is the light bulb led turns on. The fans do not spin up either

Hi folks, recently I've having issue with clicking notification tray/center, didn't have this issue on my older laptop but my newest 17inch Strix G happens quite a lot. It looks like software related, anyone have any idea what is wrong with it? Attached with screensnip tool. Besides that, my laptop's keybroad and mouse/touchpad won't be able to use occassionally upon restart/first start up. By any chance anyone of your latest Asus laptop have similiar issue like this?

So really quickly, I just have a memory compatibility question as well as some clarifying questions regarding Threadripper. Background info, intending to run a 1950X Threadripper chip on an Asus Zenith Extreme motherboard. Because across the internet I have heard the crazy cross talk of latency vs clock speed, I am now looking to capitalize in theoretical stability between the two. Is Threadripper a chip that favors clock speed, if even only to a certain point? I have also checked the motherboards QVL for memory but again have heard ludicrous amounts of conflicting thoughts. So for the memory question, does the following kit work on an Asus Zenith Extreme Motherboard with a 1950X Threadripper? Some more info, according to some very in depth users over on the overclock forums, this is a set of Rank 2 B-die memory from Samsung's manufacturing. This is also the kit I am most concerned with. Note the QVL for the Asus Zenith extreme did not specify G.Skill above 3200MHz, so I do not want to hear about the QVL, I am interested in real world tests by people who own the components mentioned. Thank you.

So I've been battling with Asus Customer Service department for quite some time now, and I'd like to get some more opinions of my issue's I have been having. Back in August of 2017 I purchased a Asus Rog GL502VS-DS71 (Found here). I purchased the notebook for school so I could run Autocad, solid-works, and obviously game with no issues. A week into school in September I noticed a dead spot on the center of the LCD panel just above the Asus Logo on the bezel. I also had managed to put a small dent in the lid on the upper left corner, and the unit would sometimes crash and boot too the Bios. So, I contacted Asus to see if my warranty covered the LCD panel, the m.2 SSD, and for grins the dent. They had assured me that my standard warranty would covered all three things, and the dent would be covered under the one time A.D.P. (Accidental Damage Protection). I shipped it out over winter break in December so I could still use the notebook until the semester was finished. I was originally told the notebook's turn around time would be 7-10 business days (which was really one full month). I got the laptop back the weekend before the Spring semester had started. They replaced the panel and SSD but they failed to fix the dent. On-top of that I noticed they panel they replaced was for the VM model which is only 60HZ, so they gipped me out of the 120HZ G-Sync Display. To make matters even better the unit died on the 5th day after it returned to me. So I setup another RMA to have the unit's screen, m.2 SSD, and the dent fixed again. After another month long wait, the unit returned with the screen untouched (still the 60HZ display), which made me think they just ignored it since it was somewhat operational. They did however, fix the dent, and the SSD (again). This pas month while away on vacation I sent the unit in for now a third time in hopes to have the screen fixed. I received it back this past Friday with the screen (according to the service slip) replaced to the correct 120HZ panel, and now the screen doesn't turn on at all. I had to plug it into an external monitor to see the unit boot up. At this point I haven't had a functional laptop in 4 months. The service rep Taj H. from the customer care department wanted to give me a factor refurbished unit instead of a new unit, and a refund is out of question. He was snickering and cackling at me over the phone due to my frustration, and was highly disrespectful for being "The highest in command, Taj H. Asus" and "The End all be all" in the customer care department. I had my case escalated for a new unit, and the request was denied. I just shipped my unit in back to SMS Infocomm in Texas for the 4th time, and a factory refurbished unit should be sent out with expedited shipping once it arrives to them. I have lost all faith in hopes to get a working unit out of the facility the use in Texas. I was promised that if the factory refurbished unit dies on me (which at this point, it probably will), I will be getting a new unit of equal or greater value. For a company as (generally) highly recommended, and pushed in the "pro-consumer" and "gamer" markets I would expect better customer service. If you ever had the joyful experience of talking to them on the phone, you know it takes at least 2 hours to get anywhere. Plus, the endless fake apologies from every rep. "First Mr. Burnham, I'd like to extend my deepest appologies on behalf on Asus for the issue's you've been having with your laptop." Apologies do not mean anything, when no one does anything about it. After all the issue's I have been having with them, it would have been nice to receive a new unit or a refund at this point. When someone from the customer service department sees my account with 5 RMA's on one product how does that not raise a 'red flag'? It's not just Asus that uses SMS Infocomm for repairs, HP uses them too. Lenovo has a repair center on my campus, and they have also been proven to be unreliable. Dell is the only manufacturer that owns, and operates their repair facility from my knowledge at this point in time. Anyway's I'd like to get your opinion on this. If you had to send the same unit in 4 times over 4 months to get an issue resolved how would you feel? I guess this is just how they handle all of their issue's and are completely unaware of how they treat their customers. They all seem unfazed about a unit being sent in now 4 times as if it is okay? If you have any great Asus service horror stories please feel free to share them below as well. Thanks Everyone, Mat.

** this post has been edited. To see the original, a post has been made below. *** at the time of writing this editorial, no news publisher reported on this. So I wrote an article myself, here you go... GPP, also known as Geforce Partner Program, was a “voluntary” program by nVidia that promises to help gamers make the right purpose when buying a graphics card. On nVidia’s blog post it states: However, Kyle Bennett, from HardOCP, wrote an article on the Geforce Partner Program, stating how it impacts consumer choice. In his editorial, he states: This was talked about in the press, and later in the article, Kyle conducts an interview with several AIB and OEM partners, and they have developed a similar consensus: The quote above were just statements on an editorial, and even though Kyle has a reputation in the industry, these statements could be taken with a grain of salt. However, most of the press have chosen to accept these statements as true. On nVidia’s blogpost, they state it is voluntary, however at the time cryptocurrency was a big hit (it still sort-of is) and GPU supply was weakened. So, if an AIB partner didn’t sign up for the Geforce Partner Program, they wouldn’t be treated by nVidia as well as a brand who did sign up for GPP. If a new run of GPUs came off the process node, the AIB’s and OEM’s that have GPP would be favored and would probably have more share than those who didn’t sign up, therefore threatening their businesses overall which really affect manufactures who rely on GPU sales primarily. GPP affects AIB’s and OEM’s by forcing them to separate the branding that these manufactures like to use on their products. Say for example Gigabyte, they use Gaming X as their branding for both nVidia and AMD cards. With GPP, now they must remove the Gaming X brand with the AMD cards. This makes it so when a buyer types in Gaming X because he/she knows that is the high end for Gigabyte, that user will only see nVidia cards now. Now, nVidia had pulled the plug on GPP, in their blogpost stating: So, this is good right? Not so much. In the time GPP was active, Gigabyte was ripping the Gaming X brand off AMD cards, which is an easy fix, just put the Gaming X back on. However, for ASUS, they planned to launch a new brand called AREZ for their AMD products. Now that GPP is over, ASUS must decide to keep the AREZ brand or just use the ROG brand. Since ASUS already spent time and effort to market the new brand AREZ, and they already began removing ROG branded AMD graphics cards in place for AREZ, they have to choose to keep the branding, put back the ROG branding, or use both. I speculated that they would use both, where the AREZ branded cards would be the budget-oriented cards and the ROG branded cards would be the Premium cards. It turns out, ASUS as it appears, has opted for the ROG branding only. In their twitter post recently, they stated: This looks great on the outside, however that has significantly impacted ASUS internally. This has now wasted the time and money that ASUS spent on marketing the new AREZ brand, stopping production of the newly branded cards, and restarting production with the old ROG branding, and now, ASUS has to figure out what to do with the AREZ branded cards. So far it looks like they aren’t selling any AREZ branded on the retail stores such as Amazon, NCIX, Newegg, Microcenter, Fry’s, and Memory Express, ( off topic side note: Memory Express doesn’t even have a mobile site. What!) are gone, so it’s up for debate on what they will do with the AREZ branded cards, let alone the money wasted on the brand. ASUS has to deal with all this, all because nVidia wanted to get a little more market share, which they definitely needed. Overall, ASUS and Gigabyte have now effectively a way harder job on their hands thanks to the amazing Geforce Partner Program, brought to us by nVidia.

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, feel free to move it to a better forum mods. I'm looking for a high end desktop replacement gaming laptop, and have searched every website that I saw. The only two I saw that met the criteria I wanted was these two Asus Republic of Gamers http://store.asus.com/us/item/201506AM270000028/A19581 Alienware http://tinyurl.com/pd2ncrr Not sure which one to go with, looking for previous owners of either ASUS ROG laptops or alienware laptops, with over a year of ownership. They're both well within my budget; although the fact that Dell owns alienware is a major drawback. PS If you are suggesting a different laptop it must meet the following criteria: Charging port on the side Under 2k USD 250gb ssd +1tb 7200 rpm hdd gtx 970 quad core i7 Large design with good cooling 16gb ram (preferrably 1866, no lower than 1600) 1080p 17" screen Backlit keyboard

I want to know which one I should get. I like the colors of the Acer but I LOVE the response time on the Asus. I just want to know if I should sacrifice the response time for better color reproduction.

Hi everyone! I just purchased the components on the above pic. I have been saving for ever in order to do a little upgrade to my rig. My current specs are: Mobo>Msi H81m-p33 Cpu> g3258 Gpu >msi gtx 750ti Ram>kingston genesis 2x 2gb Psu>(i believe )coolermaster 500w (it was a gift) Ssd 2x 120 kingston hyperx 120gb + an old 500gb laptop hdd I have bought the new components after many months of internet research and would like to know if the upgrades will have a significant impact on my gameplay? From what I've found out, the new mobo will make overclocking my pentium a bit easier? I haven't been able to go over 3.7 on my msi mobo. Also could someone point me to an assembly guide? Dunno if im going to be overwhelmed by the connections and what not. Thanks in advanced! Cheers!

Hello, Due to moving to a more cramped apartment, I don't think I can bring my desktop computer. Thus I've been looking into gaming laptops. I'm a bit picky in the sense that I want mobility and thinness along with some performance. So that left me stopping by at Asus where I found these models: The ROG G501 (http://www.asus.com/us/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/G501JW/overview/) and the Zenbook Pro UX501 (http://www.asus.com/us/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/ZenBook_Pro_UX501/) Now I wonder: What is the difference between these models? And now I'm not talking about the obvious differences found in the specs-chart and the aluminium body vs non-aluminium. I'm wondering about component quality, cooling systems keyboard-feel, panle quality and stuff like that ROG is known for having high-durability components and all those goodies, but Zenbook Pro is also their highest line in business class laptops which also should have very durable components. Do the ROG feature better cooling? Sub-questions regarding the GTX 960M, which both models feature: 1) Can the 960M really utilize 4GB VRAM or is that just an unnecessary upgrade? 2) My current desktop features an old Radeon 6870 DirectCU TOP (no OC) - is the 960M a upgrade or downgrade in terms of performance? As long as I can play the current game my Radon manages with the 960M I'm happy. Any upgrade in performance is a plus. Finally: Any suggestions for some other option from other brands are welcome, but 15-inch models ONLY.

So my current laptop is nearly 6 years old, still running strong too surprisingly, but it's under-powered and aging. It's an HP Pavilion dv6 15" entertainment laptop and it has served me well for school and some small games. I've been looking at some MUCH beefier laptops and decided I'd like the ASUS G751 because it suits the needs I have and future upcoming needs, it's crazy awesome looking (by my standards) and it has options, and I love options. So just using Newegg right now for pricing info (and specs as I won't be purchasing from Newegg since I'm adamant I can find a lower price elsewhere such as Amazon) I decided on either the JT-CH71 ($1,499) or the JT-DH72 ($1,799) and the only thing I'm saddened about is the fact neither have the blue-ray option, but I'm not willing to spend over $2000 for the versions that do....even if they have that gorgeous 980m and over 16GB of RAM. At first I was leaning on the DH72 due to the already installed SSD but lately have leaned harder on the CH71 since it's quite a bit cheaper and I can upgrade later. That said, the only upgrade I'm sketchy about is turning the HDD boot drive into an SSD boot drive (by purchasing one and just keeping the HDD as mass storage) and upgrading RAM. I know 32 GB isn't needed for gaming but I will be doing a lot of work that with 32 GB will make it go faster and easier. First, upgrading the boot drive. I do have a Sabrient HDD dock that has support for 2 drives, 3.5 or 2.5, so in theory I could just put the HDD and an SSD into the dock, press the copy button on it, then install them and set the SSD to boot drive in the BIOS correct? And the RAM is a tricky one. ASUS has this on their webpage http://rog.asus.com/375732014/g-series-gaming-laptops/gallery-g751-upgrade-guide/so it seems easy to upgrade but it looks like they have more RAM installed UNDER the other RAM they removed on top. There is a screw beside it that looks like you're able to lift it out and remove the others below it. As I haven't worked with one of these machines specifically I don't know if that's possible or if it's even needed for that matter lol. And then the blue-ray, as I watch a lot of movies/tv shows that are blue-ray, would it be possible to upgrade the optical drive in it to a blue-ray drive? I've never heard it done before so I wouldn't know. Thanks for any suggestions ladies and gents!

I want to get a new motherboard (my current one has a horrible BIOS and is lacking in features) and CPU (the i5 isn't keeping up for what I am doing so I am going for a 4770K) and I need some help. I can get the Z87 MPOWER MAX for $179.99 USD and the Maximus VI Hero for $169.99 USD. I know they differ in quality, the Hero being mid-high end and the MPOWER MAX being an extremely high end board, but I wonder which one is better. I for one love MSI's BIOS and the board itself, but I have never tried ASUS boards. The ASUS board is nice and all, but the color scheme is too conventional. The MPOWER, on the other hand, has a much different color scheme. Also, any suggestions under $200 are appreciated.

Greetings to all of you folks, been a lurker for a while and just made an account since this forum is the shizzle! :D I did a build a couple o' months ago and I've posted a buildlog on another forum back then(from a local pc-store, I'm from Belgium so for those other Belgians here, it's the Tones-forum :) )So now I tought to share my result with you guys! The buildlog itself has a ton of pictures but if you wan't i can share some later on since I don't wan't to put them all here atm :P. I've had a couple pc's in the past that were build and sold again and since I wanted to try watercooling with a costum-loop, I'd tought I would give it a shot ^^ Specs: - OS: Win8 Pro X64 - Intel I7 3930K @4,8Ghz/+-1.4V - Asus Rampage IV-E - 2x Asus GTX680 DCUII TOP @1280/6200 - Corsair Dominator's 2133C9 4x4GB kit - Corsair AX1200 + AX1200 Red sleeving kit - Corsair Obsidian 650D case - Corsair Force GT 240GB SSD - 2x 750Gb WD Black 2,5" HDD's - Scythe Master Pro 6-channel fancontroller - Lite-on BR RW optical drive - NZXT 2m sleeved white LED-cable kit - some NZXT& Alchemy black sleeved sata data&power cables - All cables are sleeved (including the front I/O, fancables, etc.) Cooling: - Swiftec Apogee HD Black cpu-block - XSPC Dualbay Res V4 - XSPC EX240 Slim Rad - XSPC EX120 Slim Rad - Phobya Extreme 200 Rad - All Bitspower true-silver and silver-shining fittings - Masterkleer UV RED tubing ( I know I'm not using UV lights, but those were the only good looking ones in stock at that time) - 2x EKWB Acetal+Nickel waterblocks - 2x EKWB Backplates - EKWB Tripple Serial bridge - EKWB Link Blank Serial CSQ - Acetal - EKWB Blood Red fluid - 3x Corsair SP120 Quiet edition fans - 2x Corsair 200mm fans (came with the case) I know the photo's are not that sharp but since I don't own a good camera, I had to take them with my phone..but you get the idea :) This next picture is from the back of the mobo tray with all the cables and you can see I was still busy assembling the loop and getting all the cables right.(note: not all cables were there atm, the build has been finished since the end of Feb. so there are some small changes here and there - it was also the first time I ever sleeved a couple cables and trying to get the cablemanagement as proper as I could) Like I said, there are far more pictures of the build in process, but it would take time to post them all at once :P. So if you guys want certain pictures (from a part of the build) or have questions about the build, feel free to ask and I will gladly answer :). Grtz!

Hey guys, I'm now watching Linus' videos for a while and now finally signed in here, but lets get to my question. First i know the diffrences between this Cards but for me its a thing that depends on the future and the looks so I wanna ask you guys which one you think looks better? The Gtx 780 ti with the refernce cooler or the Gtx 780 Poseidon from Asus? I wanna also get a Maximus VI Formula with the card and I'm usig a V8 GTS Cpu Cooler so the red from the rog card would match to these two. The refrence coolers looks would match to my CM690II Nvidia Editon and i think it looks really cool, but the rog card does too.... which one would you guys buy? (P.S.: I'm currently not watercooling but I think i will do that in the nearer future) My current rig http://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img834/3648/kklhr.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img836/3179/snq2.jpg

HI, I recently upgraded my rig to a Asus Maximus VI Hero and a 4770K and after i had installed Windows and Asus AI Suite 3 in noticed that the MB (Northbridge) is becoming around 60 degrees Celsius in idle. So i asked my friends what their temp was and they all said around 25 - 35 degrees. I even exchanged the MB for a new one but i still getting the same results. And when I point a fan on 50% speed the MB goes down to around 47 degrees. I don't think that the MB will break but I want it do be on a normal temperature. So does anyone know what could cause this or if you have the same MB how hot is yours? Here is a video where he has a round 26 degrees - http://youtu.be/L9ARMcyBrKw?t=1m
