Soo, i bought used Sapphire R9 Fury Tri-X OC, It works fine, that is until you install drivers and restart the PC, After the "Welcome" Screen on Windows 7, the driver constantly crashes and then the PC either bluescreens to (THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE) or just restarts, from what i can see the Usage LEDs go from 1 diode to 8 diodes and then to 1 diode, I have managed to get to desktop by creating new user acc, logged into it and i didnt get BSOD neither crash, but if i launch anything that uses GPU, driver crashes. CPU : FX-8350 , Mobo : GA-970A-DS3 , PSU : Silentumpc Vero M2 600W (Silentumpc is quite popular brand in here) , RAM : 4x4 GB 1333 MHz. I tried soo far: - Reflash the BIOS to original one - Installed old and new drivers (everytime cleared with DDU) - Tried 700W PSU - Ran Ubuntu 19.10 (it boots but after loading shows artifacts on whole screen), Ran Windows 10 - Ran it on PCIe x16 (working as x4) - Ran 640x480 mode - Did clean reinstall of Windows 7 - Overclocked and Underclocked it - Ran Video Memory Stress Test (it didnt actually crash the driver, but Furmark does) - Repasted it (the chip looks good, and it's certainly an HBM, 2 memory chips on one side and 2 memory chips on the other side of GPU Chip) - I tried running the 750Ti, it works perfectly fine I'm running out of ideas.

I've been wondering about OCing my R9 fury for a little while now especially recently with games like ME Andromeda and Ghost recon wildlands. It's a R9 fury nitro (not the Tri-X have no idea what the difference between the two is) and i was wondering if anyone else has tried OCing a fury and what temps/speeds have they got it up to?

Should I get a r9 fury, a 1060, or a rx 480? Which one is best value?

Ever since I installed the Sapphire R9 Fury (non X) graphics card I have been experiencing abrupt reboots to my computer when gaming. I have tried upgrading to the latest bios, reinstalling Windows, uninstalling drivers using DDU, and trying multiple drivers provided by AMD (to be specific: Crimson ReLive Edition 17.1.1, 16.12.2,16.11.4, and even the Catalyst 15.7) and still no luck. The games I normally play are Heroes of the Storm, Battlefield 1, and Dishonored 2. For Heroes of the Storm it normally reboots in the middle of the game and sometimes at the beginning. I have not confirmed this but when turning down the settings; the PC did not restart for the rest of the round (I will report back when I get the chance to play again). For Battlefield 1, it has caused my computer to reboot itself during the campaign but never has it done so when playing PVP (even on ultra). Dishonored 2 is the most disappointing one as it reboots as soon as the start menu loads up. I have also tried verifying the files and reinstalling these games but the same thing still happens. The normal temperature I’d get from Battlefield 1 on ultra is around 80C. I have just recently put it under Heaven (benchmark software) for four hours and it’s fine. However, whenever I use Furmark, both monitors would sometimes go black after 15 minutes and has caused the computer to reboot once. Both software have caused the R9 Fury to rise up to 80C-85C. I have also tried using a PSU testing device and everything seems to run fine according to the picture below. However, I am not sure if this a valid test as I believe it is unable to test the PSU under a heavy load as it's required that I hook the cable only to the device shown in the picture provided when using it. I am running out of options as this is the second R9 Fury I have tried and both have the exact same issue. found out i can get an R9 Fury for about $100 less what they go for here in Sweden if i get one off of Amazon International seeing as they qualify for free shipping but then while looking around on the used market just now i also found two R9 Fury Xs for $350 a pop, so the question is, is the $100 extra for the Fury X worth it? one of them is from MSI and one is from Sapphire and the Fury is a Sapphire Tri X if that makes any differance here.

So I am looking to upgrade my rig, with my rather old MSI R9 280x 3GB causing a little bit of bottlenecking. As it stands the options I have are a second 280x in crossfire, or an R9 Fury. So my hope is someone here, more experienced and intelligent than I, can give me some advice as to what to do. Also worth noting that the 2nd 280x will save me about 2000 South African Rand (about 150 USD), which is a pretty compelling factor for me, being a student.

Okay I'm going to be working soon along with that after I have some money saved up I want to build my first computer. My budget is pretty high the cpu I'm waiting for zen and the rest will fall in suit. The gpu alright I've heard the r9 fury is I guess roughly as good as a 1070 especially in direct X 12. There commonly 260$ yes I know the power bill will be that much to XD. I'm nervous as I have heard a decent amount about coil whine I googled r9 fury and rx 480 and the rx 480 seemed to get more threads. Pretty much I expect there will be some but will I hear it if it's off my desk with it being closed? I play with my girlfriend and the last thing I want is for it to bother her. In legitimate honesty am I too nervous about it I heard the gtx 970 was terrible to I also heard the psu quality effects it more. The psu as in making the gpu whine not the psu whining. Does your gpu whine? Any links to good psu that you know limit whine with Atleast 800 watts? Any thing additional does your gpu have coil whine? Do you have a r9 fury does it whine? I heard Shappire was using better quality parts to prevent it any idea about that?

Will the i5 6500 bottleneck the r9 fury in 1080/1440p ?

I can buy the asus rog strix rx 480 but I have been advised to get the r9 fury instead. Do you think I should try to get the r9 fury for ca 50 euros more or stay with the rx 480? My main focus is on playing Overwatch 144hz, 1080p.

Okay so over the last few day's I've been smashing my face into the keyboard trying to figure out what the hell is wrong with my PC. Currently I have a 4K TV that is capable of 60hz refresh rate no problem and supports HDMI 2.0 ... However my R9 Fury Nitro does not come equipped with a HDMI 2.0 port so I've had to buy a Club3D DisplayPort -> HDMI Active adaptor in order to get the desired 2160p/60hz - problem solved.. was working great for 2 months no issues whatsoever. However in the last few days Windows 10 has decided that it is going to keep downloading and installing the latest WHQL Crimson driver from AMD... And the problem is.. whenever it does this.. it's as if my active adapter is no longer recognised (not that it should be, it should just do what it does regardless of Windows) and Windows will only report display refresh rates of 2160p/30hz.. I've tried forcing a custom resolution in CCC which does work, but in games the colours are all washed out and it looks like utter garbage, the desktop looks fine, but games text is all fuzzy and it's just incredibly unsatisfactory.. IE unplayable. This 16.300.2311.0 driver seems to be the only driver that will work properly as any new Crimson WHQL, or latest Hotfix driver will force the same 30hz issue and it is driving me insane. I just don't know what is going on, and why this driver is the only driver that will work as expected, until Windows 10 decides to overwrite it with the latest WHQL driver. I've told update to defer updates, and also in advanced system settings told Windows not to update device drivers automatically.. but it keeps on doing it anyway. I've tried flashing a new VBIOS but it makes no difference it's purely a driver issue.. Any ideas folks?

I recently jumped ship to x99 because i couldn't hold out for zen. I currently work with unreal4 and play a huge variety of games. I've been looking at the Sapphire R9 FURY NITRO as it is currently $269 on newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202186 I've moved away from looking at the 1070's due to the Micron memory chip issue and EVGA not doing so well (I like evga, but no reason paying for a good cooler if your card is still overheating) I have been looking at the ASUS ROG cards, but still dont want to risk the Memory issue. Anyone have any Recommendations or think I should hold out? And I will be tempted to buy a GTX 1080, If theres one around ~600 more or less.

What can i crossfire an R9 Fury with?

So I recently read somewhere that i could possibly unlock more cores (stream processors) on my r9 fury. I was wondering if anyone has had experience doing this, does it involve any risks and is it really worth it?

i currently have a amd fx 8350 with a r9 fury tri x, I am starting to notice games don't run as well as I see in benchmarks, I have £600 spear so should I upgrade to a 1600x to get better performance

I'm debating between two different computer systems as a replacement for my current one, which has a GTX 970. I really like the design of the white one but if the performance the R9 Fury is a lot better, I'd most likely go with it. I know future proofing is hard to determine but which out of these two computers will last the longest in terms of performance and general hardware lifespan. i recently download assassins creed 3 since it's free on uplay and i keep dropping frames. I run a 8350 and r9 fury so i don't really understand why i can't run it maxed out easily. I can run overwatch on epic and get 60fps+ so i don't understand why my PC would struggle with this

Because no one here seems to know how much anything is meant to cost I have a few choices in what to pick in the $350-360AUD range and I'm looking to see what you guys think about vram. Options below -XFX gtr RX480 8gb -GTX 1060 6gb (gainward or galax) -Asus Strix R9 390x 8gb -Asus Strix R9 Fury 4gb (cheapest option) I play mostly in 1440p 60h, how much vram are people finding their systems are using in general. I'm kind of leaning to just buying the fury and being done with it since it's at a place next to work, and only $345 ($257~USD)

I recently brought a sapphire nitro r9 fury expecting it to be a nice jump up from my old card (Gtx 960) but I've run into an issue with it. I have no idea if it's my drivers or what but randomly while I'm gaming my gpu usage will just tank for some reason. This is what my GPU usage looks like after running battlefield 1 on ultra settings at 1080p. This is my first amd graphics card so I have no idea what the issue could be.

So, sort of a long story here, the tldr; is I upgraded from an A8 7600 to a Ryzen 5 (total platform change, so the mobo, CPU and RAM are all new) and everything is completely unstable, on both a brand new install of Windows on a new Samsung 970evo m.2 and my old install on my PNY SSD. Lots of BSODs. Tested the RAM for a day and it checks out, SSD checks out according to Samsung Magician. I'm very confused. Long story: Originally I pulled my old system and swapped the parts last week, and verified the new parts would POST before I did the swap. Seemed fine outside the case so in the case it went. Once I got it up and running again, before I installed Windows 10 Pro on my new m.2 I ran off my old SSD for a while just to test things a bit. It was pretty unstable, BSODs and crashes randomly, but I figured this could be down to wrong drivers and such since the SSD came from my old system. I pulled all my drives, including my storage drives, and went to install Windows on the new m.2. Problem: it blue screened during install. Restarted it. Managed to get through the install this time. More BSODs. I tried reinstalling again. Same thing. I think I'm now sitting on the 5th reinstall on the new drive. Its marginally more stable now, but the moment I try to do anything I get a random BSOD. Sometimes I see what the error is, sometimes it flashes so fast I only see blue and then its already rebooting. Right now, I'm letting it download Windows updates before I try to do anything else. I installed my wifi drivers, my graphics drivers, m.2 drivers, and Samsung magician to check the m.2. I've swapped the m.2 from the top mobo slot to the bottom one, but still have had some BSODs since doing that. I've run memtest and my RAM checks out, I opened up my GPU and cleaned and repasted it today just in case. I've been sitting on my laptop Googling every different BSOD as they come up. So far, I've had at least one if not more of each of these: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED APC_INDEX_MISMATCH UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE KERNEL_AUTO_BOOST_INVALID_LOCK_RELEASE SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION KERNEL_THREAD_PRIORITY_FLOOR_VIOLATION I've tried using WhoCrashed to see what drivers are failing, and it always shows fltmgr.sys and ntoskrnl.exe are the culprits. I've tried running Windows built-in driver verifier but it doesn't seem to show the crashing drivers when I run it, and its a pain to turn off. Basically, I'm at my wits end. I bought a new case to put everything in but currently the system is just sitting on my desk using the mobo box as a test bench because I'm afraid I may have to send something back. Problem is, I just can't figure out what's faulty, if anything, or if I got a corrupted install of Windows, or what. Pls halp. Hi, I'm in the market for a graphics card upgrade and my budget is pretty much 200. Here's my current list. I'm upgrading from an HD 7970, which I've had since August and while it was good for the price ($85 used), it bottlenecks ever since I upgraded to a Ryzen 2600X. I'm torn between a used R9 Fury X and a GTX 1070. I understand that in the majority of games, the 1070 performs about 10-15% percent better, however the Fury X comes on top in some games. They both cost $210 on eBay right now, so the 1070 seems like the obvious choice. But I have a FreeSync 75Hz Monitor, which the Fury X is compatible with. I plan on playing intensive games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Metro: Exodus when they come out (I'm getting the card for Christmas). So the question is, which card should I go with? The Fury X comes with a water cooler (which would be amazing) and FreeSync. The 1070 has undeniable good performance for the price. Is FreeSync really worth it? Another option is the R9 Fury, which I can get right now for $140. It's not water cooled, and has about 10% worse performance than the Fury X - but it does have FreeSync, and that spare $70 can be used towards other important things. I'd like to keep the budget as low as possible, and throughout my incredibly thorough research (searching eBay for random cards off the top of my head), there is not an in-between. I've been told about the benefits of FreeSync, but I just don't know how beneficial it really is (my HD 7970 is not compatible with it). What should I go with? Any input is appreciated.

I now have an R9 Fury Tri-X in my build. The bad thing is that, assuming that due to it's age, the card did not originally have UEFI GOP. The problem is that there still is no official download from Sapphire for a UEFI GOP vBios. I tried flashing an R9 Nano bios from here https://community.amd.com/community/gaming/blog/2016/04/05/radeon-r9-fury-nano-uefi-firmware. The problem is that this has drastically slowed my GPU (GPU: AMD R9 Fury-X - 50.4%), rendering this option useless. Is there any way I could get a signed UEFI GOP bios made for the R9 Fury (not Nano or X)? Thanks bunches for your answers
