I have given away my old Dell U2414H. Need a replacement display for use strictly in portrait mode. I game only on my 27" 1440p 165Hz Gsync display 24" 1080p, flat, good for text, not glossy. Preferably better refresh rate or even Gsync compatible (idk if this will even matter) Which should I get? Dell P2419H, 60Hz, $111 Dell S2421HS, 75Hz, $140 MSI Pro MP242P, 75Hz, $140 LG 24MR400, 100Hz, with replacement adjustable stand, $140 LG 24GN65R, 144Hz Gsync compatible, $165 Some of them have Freesync. Not mentioning because staying with Nvidia and only the Ultragear (24GN65) is confirmed to be Gsync compatible If you have knowledge/experience with any of the models mentioned, do let me know. I am in South East Asia.

I want to ‘paint’ the side of my power supply (or otherwise get the attached image on the side of the psu). What are some ways I can do so and what do I need to look out for? Image is from wikipedia if that is a concern

I found an additional 240hz monitor lying around and thought I'd use it as a discord monitor (portrait mode) but when I activate portrait mode it caps itself to 60hz. is there a way to get around this or is it meant to only be 60hz in portrait mode? The monitor works in 240hz in both hdmi and dp so that's nice! I tried switching out cables, changing which output and also trying with display port but nothing appears to help it achieve higher than 60hz in portrait mode.

Hi all, After much deliberation and second guessing my choices, I recently purchased a Sony A7rii (my other choice was an A7iii, upgrading from a Canon 6D). I've got a body now, but I'm looking for a solid lens combo or a recommendation from anyone with experience. I'm trying not to spend much more than $1500 on my lens(es). I'm definitely interested in looking into the used market. I primarily shoot portraits, but I also love to do landscapes. My only requirement is that the lens have autofocus, because not only do I suck with manual focus, but I'm also relatively lazy (lol). Since the a7rii has IBIS, image stabilization is not a must-have. I've been looking at getting these: Samyang 18mm f/1.8 (for landscape) Sony 85mm f/1.8 (portraits) Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 (mainly as a multipurpose "do-it-all" lens). --> Is there a big enough difference between the 75mm f/2.8 and 85mm f/1.8 to warrant buying a whole new lens? I've never actually shot with primes before. I used the 24-105f4L on my Canon 6D as my main and loved it. Are they that much better than a zoom? Like I said before, please feel free to suggest lens combos you love or have worked for you! Thanks

Can you guys please sum up or give your opinions on what you think the best camera and flash combination is for around £400-£500 (I don't mind second hand / refurbished). I go to lots of parties and gatherings, all outside or in houses with low lighting, and need a way to capture these events. I also like taking portraits of my friends but my setup atm needs a needed upgrade! Thanks in advance

Hi, I have 40" TV (1920x1080) as my main monitor and I want to add another one for work purposes but a lot smaller (22" 1920x1080) so they can fit physically. But can I run games on both of them at the same time, anyone tried this yet? Physically they will be the same but what about resolution, I'm not sure it'll scale well if it will scale at all. Maybe there are some programs for it to work? I don't want to see my second screen blank or turned off every time I'm gaming.

Okay so I need help determining what monitors to pair with my 27" 1440p monitor in a PLP (Portrait-Landscape-Portrait) setup. I need to find a happy medium between pixel height/resolution matching up, DPI(or PPI) being the same, and physical screen heights matching up. DPI of a 27" 1440p monitor is 108.79 My choices seem to be as follows: 19-27-19 : 1440x900 - 2560x1440 - 1440x900 (This matches up pixel height/resolution perfectly, but has a DPI of 90.44, and physical height difference of a couple inches.) 17-27-17 : 1280x1024 - 2560x1440 - 1280x1024 (This matches up physical height better than 19", and brings DPI closer with 96.81, however doesn't match pixel height/resolution.) 15.6-27-15.6 : 1366x768 - 2560x1440 - 1366x768 (This matches physical height the best, and DPI varies between 97-99 depending on aspect ratio, but pixel height/resolution again doesn't match.) So my question is what matters most when it comes to this being compatible in games (flight simulation and such), and productivity as far as being able to drag a window across and things not seeming larger/smaller across the screens? Is DPI the biggest issue, or is the resolution matching up more important? Of course the physical height of the screen is more of just being aesthetically pleasing.

Hey everyone! I'm going to be picking up a x34 at some point which is 3440x1440p, and eventually I would like to put portrait 1440p monitors on both sides. These won't be used for gaming, mostly for reading/coding/maybe an occasional video, so they don't need to be really good monitors, but they do need to be vesa compatible. I was originally looking at this, but I don't believe the newer models have vesa mounts. Any suggestions?

Hello! I am seeking advice on what GPU configuration I should have to game on three 1080p monitors in portrait position. My current system has one Titan X Pascal. While this would be enough to run most games on all three monitors with decent framerates, I want to maximize my performance. I remember in the past I was unable to use multiple monitors with SLI, but I do not know if that has changed. The framerate of the center monitor is more important than that of the two side monitors, because it is and will be my only G-Sync monitor. So the question is, what multi-GPU configuration would be best for gaming on three monitors? What will work and what will not? I would prefer to get only one more GPU if possible. I know that a 28 lane processor will hold me back, so if I have to, I could invest in a 40 lane. Any and all help is appreciated! Thank you! My main components are as follows: EVGA X99 FTW Motherboard Intel Core-i7 5820k (which is a 28 lane processor) 32GB (2x16GB) of RAM at 3000MHz (will be upping this to 64GB soonish) Nvidia GTX Titan X Pascal One G-Sync 1080p Monitor

Currently, I have a Dell 24 inch monitor that I intend to put into a portrait as a secondary monitor. So, I have 2 choices. Either get a 27 inch monitor or an ultrawide 34 inch monitor as a primary monitor. On the one hand, ultrawides look really good and offer a lot more real estate. On the other hand, they are really expensive, and are 21:9, which means that console games will come with black bars. Any one here has any recommendations? Would be great to hear from you guys, especially those who were once in a similar situation. How did you solve it? I did think about getting a good monitor arm for the portrait, and swap it around whenever I want to play console games, but I'm not sure if it will be worth the time / money for a monitor arm. Thanks!

I know that not all monitors come with a pivot functionality. But what I'm asking is, are all monitors capable of displaying in portrait? Even those that do not have a pivot mount? I have my eyes on a monitor that does not have pivot functionality, but I'm willing to get an external mount for it. Would that be possible?

Hello guys ! So in the next couple of weeks I'm going to buy my first body and lens but I still don't know what to buy. I'm looking for one body and one lens at the moment (maybe 2 but only if the budget allows it). I'd love to do portraiture and landscapte photography My budget is max 1500CHF, I know it's really a lot of money for my first camera but if you can find cheaper why not. Where I live I can find the Fujfilm X-T2 (Going with the T2 because the budget allows it) with the kit lens or the 35mm f/2 for under 1500CHF but I don't whats better, the 35 for portrait photography but it's not wide enough for landscapes so this is why I think the kit lens can be a good choice, It has a good range, it's just not so great for portraiture. I still could stitch some images taken with the 35 to create a wider photography but I don't know if it's possible, and if it is can you link me a tutorial to how to do it ? Exepct Fuji there's also Sony that I really like but their bodies are really expensive and the lenses too, if you could list me a body and a lens for Sony that's under 1500 i'll be very happy. I want to do portraits, landscapes and when I travel maybe shoot what's around me. So should I go with Fuji or Sony ? If I go with Sony I could still upgrade to a Full Frame later. And if I go with fuji, the X-T2 with the kit lens or the 35 f/2 ? Thanks for you time, Yann.

I'm looking to buy a secondary monitor (VESA compatible) to supplement my current setup. I'd like to get something that would be used almost exclusively in a portrait rotation (rotated 90 degrees). I've noticed that some monitors have terrible viewing angles when you rotate it outside of it's "intended" viewing angle; even monitors that come with this functionality out of the box. i.e. an OEM stand that allows 90 degree rotation. So my questions are... What makes a monitor a good choice as a portrait monitor? Are certain panel types better than others? Anyone care to recommend (or not recommend) certain monitors for this use case? Also, if anyone could recommend a good single monitor VESA mount, I'd appreciate it.

Hi, I am getting a little project ready and this will be on the background. Could not resist doing it. Get ready for the release in a few days ! I will update this post and make a new one when finished. (yes, I did it really fast. It does not look perfect but will do the trick) The video is out ... not good enough but as my first try I will be ok with it : PC MASTER RACE 4K 60 FPS : ENGLISH MAKING OF (the French making of is better) : Baguette Making of :

I think the sigma 17-50 2.8 is a good choice and maybe a macro lens but there's too many like i said that i cant even choose. And a tripod also. My budget is around 1500-1600 So in conclusion i need some help to chose : a camera, a lens and a tripod Thanks for the help it really means a lot for me.

Hi guys and gals. Looking for some suggestions for a cheap monitor in the 24" range that can go into portrait. Doesn't need to be anything fancy. it wont be for gaming, just for a secondary monitor for use in chat rooms/watching youtube while I play on my main games on my main monitor. Any suggestions would be amazing - I have a bad habit of purchasing stuff that is more then what I need.

I'm interested in doing 3-way portrait mode in the future but I have found some issues with most monitors sporting thin bezels. This: See what is in between the Red bars, it's the Logo and a super thick bar making this otherwise pretty thin bezel monitor, Not Portrait ready. I would like help finding a monitor that has: Very Thin bezels on every side (left and right not much of an issue) 1080p/1440p (if cheap) 24" (or more if found for cheap.) IPS Be affordable. Thanks, pictures of the products are welcome!

Hello Guys, Currently, I am starting a new PC Lifestyle / Review Channel and have FINALLY setting on shelling out for the Canon T5i. This will be all of the parts that I will be getting. Everything should cost roughly $430 after the $350 rebate. I'm very happy with this choice, should my new partnership still be valid .... I really need to get videos out. All things considered, I was wondering if this setup would also be great for family portraits. The Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons are coming up and I will try to prioritize getting this if you guys think it suits both purposes. There are still LOTS of things to be done on the back-end and I can borrow a friend's T5i in the meantime. All Replies Appreciated - NINETYFOUR

i have 3x viewsonic va2213w 22" monitor setup. i originally had them setup in landscape mode and everything worked fine. but when i changed them into portrait mode a lot of issues arose. they appear correctly setup, amd ccc plus windows see's them with their correct orientation. the resolutions are all set up fine. the only issue i have is when i move my mouse to pass from monitor to monitor it is fine on my middle monitor, however it appears halfway down my left monitor and sideways. and the same on my right. when i move a program from one monitor to the other it keeps the correct orientation. ive tried to find a mouse monitor transition option to see if there is a way to adjust how my mouse moves from monitor to monitor. i dont understand how everything else works and recognises the monitors are portrait exept the mouse layout, does anyone else have any idea how i can fix this please?

I have been looking at updating my current configuration for the last few months, currently am using a pb278q and a hp 23fi as a side monitor. However my brother has claimed that as his and now am only left with a single screen. I would love to have a second and third pb278q but cannot justify $350 for a second hand unit or over $500 for a new one. Therefore I wiuld upgrade to 4k, though there arent any ips options under $700. So instead i have found a second hand distributor of ex government displays. And for only $500 I can get 5 x dell 2312hm or hp zr24w. Both are ips so viewing angles should be capable enough for an eyefinity set up. I really enjoy racing games with my g27 so I feel the ultra wide resolution would be beneficial. Has anyone had experience with running a 5 monitor gaming rig. As far as i know you must connect all displays to a single card. So I would need an active display port splitter as well as a hdmi to dvi connector to make 5 connections. As I currently have crossfired 290xs.

I currently have 2 U2515Hs connected to a desktop PC and Macbook Pro and I switch between them quite often even even though I hope to change that, but that's another topic. There is so much wasted space on my desk because of both stands and quite a bit of cable clutter. I was looking for a good dual monitor stand, that supports 25" displays, one in landscape and one in portrait mode. I have never really bought a dual monitor stand and most of them look quite similar to each other. I heard that the portrait display might be a problem for some stands so I'd like to make sure the one I buy can handle it. Does anyone have any recommendations for a dual monitor stand? They support 100mm VESA mounts and weigh 4.4kg/9.64lb each. Also the monitor stands need to be attached to a desk because I'm moving to an apartment soon and can't wall mount anything.

I recently found a 21:9 monitor with a pivoting stand, and that made me wonder if one of these ultra-widescreen monitors in portrait mode would actually be useful. They're quite expensive but it could be worth it for the massive space it would create for viewing web paged, emails, etc. And then you could always rotate it back again for gaming or movies in lovely ultra-widescreen. Thoughts? I wonder if that would actually be better than a 16:9 for this purpose: would it be too much vertical space to use properly?
