  1. I have a very strange popping/pulse sound occurring in the signal of my Blue Yeti USB Mic. Below is a recording taken from Audacity - 10 seconds background ambience, then 10 seconds of humming (when the clicking/popping/"pulse" begins), and 10 final seconds of ambience again. It seems that something is interfering with the signal beyond a certain level? This problem is present whether I am just monitoring through Windows 11, monitoring through OBS Studio, or recording in Audacity, but only when it actually receives signal louder than ambience. Any ideas on things I should try? Windows, drivers, etc are up to date, have tried system restart, PC has been used for only two days. I do have a FiiO external sound card connected but this would/should only effect my output (speakers or headphones) as the mic is connected directly to the PC via USB. I also use voicemeeter banana to route some things to a second desktop audio channel to keep them from airing on stream. Not sure either would have any relevance but trying to provide thorough info. This microphone works perfectly fine on a second PC (with exact same configuration in terms of software and connected devices); this one is just built and upon switching to it is when this problem manifested. Any suggestions or thoughts are appreciated. I have tried connecting it to different USB ports away from any other USB connections, I have tried disabling my WiFi, I have tried disabling voicemeeter, I have tried lowering gain in windows, I have tried tweaking power settings, all to no avail. Old system is Win10, I think with an RX 580. New system is Win11 and has a 4080/13900k (so it's probably drawing a bit more power, and has more sophisticated cooling with an AIO and six case fans). Just before posting this, I connected sound card, mic, peripherals etc to old PC to fire it up and make sure the cable/blue yeti didn't just develop a new problem. It is still perfectly clear and crisp on the old system, but this clicking noise won't seem to go away no matter what I try on the new machine. Before I give up and order a new microphone, I'd greatly appreciate anyone with any insight on this pointing me in the right direction/towards anything they think could help. I've been digging reddit/google etc all day and I'm running out of places to turn. Thank you for taking time out of your day to try to help me. 2. Hello everyone. This is my first time posting here. About 5 months ago I build a sweet med/high-end PC with the new RTX 3070. It worked great, and I experienced no graphical issues whatsoever. Eventually, we had a wall socket burst, and my PC and another PC in an adjacent room have been having Level Of Detail issues. My PC was not plugged into the corresponding wall socket, and so I As pictured in the videos attached below, you can clearly see shadows and ground debris render up and close to the character. It's especially bad with The Witcher 3 (I can get some video for the Witcher if needed). I've tried clean reinstalling windows and reinstalling drivers to no avail. I reseated my graphics card, nothing. My Voltages and Temps are in the normal range, and I've tried different outlets in the house. Please help me if you can, I don't know what to do Specs: Nvidia RTX 3070 Founders Edition 8GB VRAM PCI-E 4.0 Intel Core I7-10700k 3.8GhZ OZ 5.1GhZ MSI Z490 A-Pro Motherboard Thermalake 750+ Watt Power Supply Smart Pro RGB, Fully Modular Gold Certified T-Force Vulkan 16GB DDR4 3200mhz RAM Noctua NH D-15 Dual Fan Chromax Air Cooler 2 TB SSD M.2 (Samsung), 2 TB HDD (Seagate) Thermalake V200 Tempered Glass Mid-ATX Case I don't know if its an electrical problem, hardware problem, or just me. I hope anyone can help. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OoM0iGskWKE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMN_335S3Fk
  3. When I turn on my computer it flashes for i would say a quarter of a second then comes on normally. a little sound and the rgb comes on for that long. Does anyone else experience this? Is this just the pc turning on? It happens with every computer I have ever owned but I wanted to know if I was the only one.
  4. I have a (somewhat) janky setup for audio that lets me use my pc to listen to my phones audio, as well as use my pc mic on my phone. The only issue is, when audio on my phone starts or stops, it makes this loud pop. I've seen a lot of stuff online saying it might be drivers, anyone know what could be causing this? More in depth about the setup, my phone has an adapter plugged into the aux that splits the Mic and Headphone sounds, they they are plugged into the green and pink audio jacks in the back of my pc, but in reverse. Why? because I'm treating t he phone as a microphone which I play back into my headphones (the ones on my head) from there, I have my mic think its using my phone to listen to itself, and bam, I can hear my phone and talk into it from my pc. Its kinda hard to explain, and most of it is done with Voicemeeter Potato, but yea. I will also mention that I have tried using a normal headset to listen to my phone, no popping, and a normal mic through the pink audio jack, no popping, its only when I try the current setup things pop, so what gives?
  5. Hi, wondering if I can get a community opinion. I bought a Samsung CRG90 49" Ultrawide from Amazon recently and it's boxed up in my hall waiting for a return collection. As they had no stock to replace it, I re-ordered a fresh one from AO.com. Both have suffered from the same problem - a clicking/popping noise for a good 30 mins when turned on. Then it's fine. Then when you're ready to go to bed, you turn off the monitor, and lots of popping and cracking going off again for 30 mins or so. I've read posts suggesting it's due to the plastic casing contracting and expanding due to heat. Samsung support have told me twice now the monitor shouldn't do this. AO are awaiting more stock before they can replace this one. I may be fulfilling the definition of insanity here by doing the same thing and expecting different results. Does anyone own a CRG90 and NOT have this problem? Do I have any hope of obtaining a CRG90 without this defect? Or is it something you should expect to live with. You can watch a recording I made here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/xv35YSxnfQ9d6iFA7 You'll here the distinct pop at 00:38, 00:52, 01:06, 1:20, 1:28, 1:34, 1:46, 1:52, 1:59, 2:16, 2.23, 2:36, 2:41.....and so on. I absolutely love this monitor. There's not many alternatives to its spec. But I'm not sure I can accept a £900 monitor with this kind of defect. But for all I know, maybe ALL ultrawides suffer from this problem. Though I would've though I'd have seen more than a few reddit comments. Either way, I was mainly hoping I could benefit from some community experience with this and other ultrawide monitors. Having had two editions of this monitor in two weeks with the same problem, I'm a little bit sceptical the next one won't suffer the same issue. Any help is much appreciated! Thanks
  6. i have a 3060ti with i7-6700k CPU, 32GB RAM and my HD is a 1TB NVME SSD. i noticed that certain textures and models will not fully load unless i approach them or wait for them to load in after a solid delay. here is screenshots i took to show you what i mean. in the first picture, you can see the brown/beige building in the center right looks horrible along with some other background buildings. then in the second picture the building is fixed, after waiting a couple seconds for the rendering to load in. this is happening across all of my games that feature big open world space (doesn't happen in close quarter games like overwatch, or not noticeable at least.) i've tried reinstalling nvidia drivers with DDU, and basically every recommended fix in the book. i'm not sure what the cause is. nothing is bottlenecking, CPU, RAM and GPU levels are all completely fine in-game NOTE: before my current setup, i used to have a much better setup inside of a different PC tower casing, but an electrical issue fried my old MOBO, RAM and my i7-9700K CPU. i moved my still-working 3060 into my dad's old office PC tower, which already had my current 6700K and RAM already inside of it. so i suspect it could have something to do with the fact that apart from my GPU, the rest of the components used to be for a high-powered office PC and not a gaming setup (though I don't see why that should still cause any issues.) frame rates and performance are fine in all games, but the texture loading issue is driving me insane.
  7. Hi I recently started noticing a weird popping sound in almost everything in windows it happens when a sound starts/stops so basically at the beginning or the the end of an audio, or when a sound suddenly stops like when you click on the windows knob then click somewhere else during the sound it plays even in games it sometimes happen in similar scenarios I tried everything I can do atm, updating/downgrading drivers, messing around with audio settings, testing different outputs/audio devices, and a new clean windows installation, nothing worked I looked at every thread I can find with this issue online and non of them had a solution I don't even know if it's a normal thing or not anymore maybe it's normal and I just started noticing it recently Here are some examples of the type of pop i'm experiencing (copied from a different post): Microsoft Edge 2019-06-07 21-16-48 (streamable.com) this one I tried in Ubuntu and it happens there too Whispers of a Machine 2019-06-22 00-05-30 (streamable.com) Microsoft Edge 2019-06-05 20-53-18 (streamable.com) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AT8dlCct5UQ (Not my video) Windows 10 Audio Popping/Crackling - Microsoft Community and here's another person saying they replaced every part and the issue is still there here are my specs
  8. Hello everyone. For the past few months I've been experiencing a sound issue that appears to be without a cause or solution. In my case it's happening throughout the day pretty much constantly with the only difference being how noticable it is at any given time. It is best described as crackling or popping and at times of online calls via discord or teamspeak all the sound being of robotic nature. I upgraded my build barely a year ago and it is now roughly four months since i started noticing it and it's been getting worse ever since. The issue is noticable no matter the output device, all of which are fine when connected to other devices. I tried clean installing the OS (w10) and upgrading to w11, turning off the ftpm in bios and the onboard sound card once i bought a PCIe one which did not solve the issue, i even tried to move the sound card and the NVMe between the available PCIe/M.2 slots. Additionally, i disabled all the sound devices except for the sound card with no improvement. As a last resort, i tried to take the PC to a friend out of town because i read that there is such a thing as a "drity electricity" and that also did not solve my issue. I also took the whole PC apart and put it back together again. For the past month i've had my mobo in RMA but it was declined with the explanation "No issue found/manifested". *BIOS was the latest at the time of trying the RMA, upgrading it did not resolve the issue. My build MOBO: ASUS TUF GAMING X570 PLUS CPU: AMD R5 5600G GPU: ASUS DUAL RTX3070 8G RAM: 2x16GB Kingston FURY 3200MT/s (in slots A2/B2 as per the mobo's manual) OS NVMe: 250GB Samsung 960 PRO (w11 currently, installed right below the CPU) SOUD CARD: ASUS STRIX SOAR PSU: Evolveo G650 80+ Gold (roughly 5-6 years old) Monitors: WQHD Phillips and a FHD samsung 2 500GB 2,5" SATA SSDs, 1 2TB HDD just a few months old, 1TB HDD a few years old I also have a recording of my issue. The desync between audio and video appeared along with the start of the recording via nVidia SW. Thanks in advance to whomever will try to help.
  9. I had an issue where all audio was accompanied by a clicking sound and audio with videos would gradually become more and more out of sync. I updated all drivers, used multiple different output devices with different cables etc, I ran system file checker and refreshed windows. Today, I noticed that when I got a MalwareBytes notification (I have only had malwarebytes for about 2 weeks, the same length of time I've had the issue) that my audio severly slowed down along with mouse movements. I immediately uninstalled malwarebytes and everything is back to normal. No audio clicking, popping or delays. I don't require any help, the purpose of this post is to serve as a reference for anyone who google a similar issue.

Removed the sound card as I couldn't get to the cpu fan Moved CPU fan from rear side of heatsink to front side facing ram. (Had it wrong forever, am confirmed dumb.) While moving the cpu fan I took off the yellow tag with a marked out trashcan on it assuming it was just a "Dont throw electrical devices in the trash" style tag. If it was a anti static tag of some sort then that another thing. Replaced the sound card. I didn't notice anything from this point. As I was having issue with my Blue Yeti and ATR2100 picking up white noise (thought it could be the fans in the case which led me to swapping things.) I downloaded VB Virtual Audio Cable and Reaper to try and kill the noise in the background of those mics. I installed the VB Virtual Audio Cable drivers and Reaper. Messed with them for a bit and decided it was too much hassle uninstalling them both. I still didn't really notice much. Later I started a chat on skype and was told the mic sounded terrible. Listening in through playback devices I heard how awful it was which has gotten slightly better since as I've swapped mic cables to a boom mic. Here are two recordings, one of silence where you can hear the interference and the other of me talking with the interference. Silence/Popping Voice Sample Now what have I done to try and remedy the problem? Try different headphones Try different headphone cables Use alternate soundcard I have of the same model (Sound Blaster Z) Unplug the new fan Move the CPU fan back to the incorrect side reinstall sound card drivers Reinstall/Uninstall VB Virtual Audio Use motherboard 3.5mm ports instead of sound card. Remove Sound card. Removed any extra usb items Swap PCI-E ports System Restore Reset system with files Reset system completely. Reinstall all drivers Confirm that USB Mics/headsets DO NOT have the interference. Remove Sound Card Remove Video Card Rewire/organize all cables inside the tower Use a different outlet Use a different surge protector As of now the popping is still going on only on the microphone side of things. When idle I hear extremely slight buzzing in my headphones, in game if I turn sound all the way down the buzzing exists and the tone changes as I go into different menus. During videos/web browsing there isn't an issue aside from the extremely quiet buzz. I still plan to... Remove wifi card Remove Capture card I don't have another PSU or motherboard to test. I can buy either if needed but Im trying to test everything else first. Sorry this was so long, I spent alot of time reading tons of posts from people with these types of issues and doing what they were told to try and knock out any options. Thanks for any help.

  12. (Edit) The problem persisted even though I said I fixed it I even got a new PSU that didnt do anything the problem only happens with my 1070 plugged in. So recently I upgraded my computers graphics card to a 1070 from a 960 everything was fine but I noticed a random popping with my audio I tried everything even reinstalling my audio drivers, nothing worked so I went and put my 960 back in and that seemed to fix it but I would like to use my 1070. My specs Intel 4690k z97 stinger WiFi mini ITX 16 Gb ddr3 RAM 500W power supply 1 TB HHD 512 GB SSD and of course my 960 or 1070 due to the 960 fixing the issue is it safe to think my power supply cant handle it and if thats not the problem what should I do?
  13. Fellow Techies, I just got done doing a little work on the pc. I have a problem though, the pc doesn't put out sound. The computer recognizes the speakers being plugged in, but no sound. I hear popping ever so often. What is up with this? All I did was change LED for the power button, and no plug in all the front IO. Any suggestions?
  14. hey there , today since i started my laptop a black window which at first looked like cmd kept popping frequently . At first i was terrified thinking that it was a virus or something similar . Is it something serious? How do i fix it?? Please help because its freaking me out !!
  15. this has started up recently and it's really getting on my nerves. ever since the update for windows 10 for the creators fall update, a few days later the sound in my headset (plantronics RIG 600) starts popping and cracking at random moments. sometimes it's just a little barely noticeable one and other times it is obvious. i thought my headset was 'dying' or broken so i plugged them into my phone (both the mic and audio spliter and the direct) with the same music/audio thinking it might had something to do with how the song played but it does not crackle and pop on the phone. I tried turning on and off razer surround, i tried re-plugging the AUX back in at both the front and back of the PC yet after a few hours or days it comes back. I did at one time re-installed the audio drivers for the motherboard and that did seem to fix it but only for a day and it came back. any help would be nice as this has been really bugging me and has been going on for too long. also if there is way to go back before the creators fall update to see if it is the update, a step by step for it would be nice too.
  16. I have a Monster Superstar that is creating some very odd clicking and popping noises. I was using it as normal when it ran out of battery, and when I plugged it in and powered it on it began making these awful noises. I don't believe it's the result of any sort of interference between my phone and the speaker because the noises persist even when the speaker is disconnected. I can somewhat drown them out when I play music at full volume but they always linger in the background ruining the experience. The noises don't appear to be totally random, they persist at about 3 clicks per second. See linked video.
  17. Hello everyone! I recently built a gaming pc. Here is my build >>> https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mYBm2R I didn't go for anything flashy but I wanted to build a very nice build. I currently play games like ARMA III (heavily modded ACE / RHS / ACRE / etc), Squad, DCS 1.5, and IL2 CloD and BoS. I love playing FPS and flight sims. But ever since I built my rig I have noticed there is a cracking and popping sound during high sound loads (explosions happening all around, and firefights) so basically high quality audio causes these issues. I currently am using the corsair VOIDs and I thought it would be the wireless drivers. So I plugged in my Sennheiser HD558 into the sound ports on the back of the motherboard and I am still having these popping issues. I browsed the internet for days trying to figure out the issue myself. I have read that having a fresh install of windows might solve the problem too but I would rather get some feed back from the PC community before I do that. pcinfo.txt
  18. What happens is that whenever there is audio or any type of sound on my computer such as playing a video on youtube, windows startup sounds etc. ANY sound. There is constant popping or crackling sounds and stops whenever the sound is gone, so whenever I'd play a video, a game, that'd mean it wouldn't stop until I'd close the application... So recently this issue has occurred and I have tried many ways to fix this: - reinstalling drivers of headset - reinstalling audio drives - disabled audio enhancements - dusting out my pc (getting desperate) I have also attached an audio file. The initial sound of is the test sound from headphone properties under '1 channel, 16 bit, 48000Hz (DVD quality), sounds normal however its 1 channel and audio only comes out from the left but there is no issue..(don't want that type of channel) In the last few sounds, I changed over to the default channel which is the one I always used and had no problems with: --> 2 channel, 16 bit, 48000Hz (DVD quality). Which is where you can hear the popping and crackling of course. If there is some kind of solution it would be great! Don't think its the headphones because It also happened to my wired headphones, using wireless, changing it over again and didn't make a difference. 19. Hello! Ive been looking around for a while now and haven found anything that seems to match what I am experiencing. Every once in a while, the monitor will black out and this popping noise will begin(sounds like a static shock to me). After a while, the noise will stop, then the monitor will jump back to life again. This is not the computers fault as it is able to work while the monitor is black (a fair portion of this post has been written with a black monitor ). Here is a link to a video of the popping (sorry for the poor camerawork). If you guys have any help it would be much appreciated! https://photos.app.goo.gl/3bvv85NzQfugj9Ta8 Thank you for your time!
  20. Hello, I built a PC 2 months ago with an RTX 2070 and the following configuration : https://imgur.com/a/akirPEF I have noticed a problem with rendering of objects and textures in virtually every game. There is a lot of popping, and in-game objects regularly appear and/or disappear as I approach or distance myself from them. There are examples in the videos below : https://vimeo.com/user108164184/review/388835975/cbfd7153ae https://vimeo.com/user108164184/review/388835871/10ebf03f4c https://vimeo.com/user108164184/review/388835788/4b8e0ea306 https://vimeo.com/user108164184/review/388835713/a220d3b592 https://vimeo.com/user108164184/review/388835654/4d801ac5f9 I could upload a lot more examples if needed from various games (Crysis1,2 and 3, Batllefront, Battlefield 4), such as foliage appearing/disappearing, texture changes etc. I found a topic where the seemingly identical issue seems to be discussed in detail but no solution is offered : https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1118699-bad-texture-pop-intexture-rendering-of-shadows-foliage-and-close-objects/ I haven't overclocked anything, I've tried reinstalling windows and drivers but no solution so far. Any help would be hugely appreciated
  21. hello guys!! i bought a week ago new soundcard "Creative Sound Blaster Z" and got a lot of cracking and popping sound problems.. i tried so much drivers and some times i got fixed it for like 30 mins and it came back.. now i have seen a lot of people having the same problem, and i finally fixed everything and got no problems anymore last 4 days. So i wanna share what i did to fix this, 1. First you have to be sure that intergrated audio is disabled in bios! 2. after that go to your software and apps (right mous button on start and click on Apps And Parts) and remove/uninstall Realtek High Definition Audio Driver 3. now go to this file location "C:\Windows\System32\drivers" and find this 2 files hdaudbus.sys & HdAudio.sys, and go to properties and go to security and you now have to give the user account all rights to then block access to the system follow these pics | picture 1 | Picture 2 | Picture 3 4. go to this location "C:\Program Files (x86)\Realtek\Audio\HDA" if you can't find the folder Realtek just create it and for \Audio\HDA the same after that you have to go to properties off HDA and go to security and choose edit and disable all the rights for System Follow this pic! | Picture 1 | Picture 2 | Picture 3 5. Follow these last 2 Pictures | Picture 1 | Picture 2 6. now you going to install This SoundBlaster Z driver and restart your pc and it should work! I am running Windows 10 Version 1709 HERE YOU SEE TEST RUNNING FOR 25 MINS WITH LatencyMon
  22. Hello everyone, My friend is having trouble with his NZXT Kraken AIO. There's this cracking/popping sound coming from the AIO. I don't know the exact model of the cooler, but it's one of these X52 (V2), X62 (V2) 100% The noise sounds like this: (MP3 file) Thanks for any help! AIO sound.mp3
  23. Hey guys, long time viewer of the channel, first time forum user. I've been having an ongoing problem with my computer for a while. When I first built it everything was fine, but after a while (really started to notice it after about a year) I started to notice a crackling/popping sound that would happen in youtube videos. It can happen at random but it seems to happen most when theirs a change in tone/volume within the video. At first it would only happen in certain videos (bad encoding/rendering I guess?), but it started to effect every video to some degree after a while, it even effects games if it gets bad enough. Ive tested if it was just my speakers (cheap walmart ones) by switching to my headphones (sennheiser game zero's) but the problem persists pretty much the same between both. I've tried changing every setting you can imagine, reinstalled drivers, messed around in the bios, and even reinstalled windows and nothing has helped. After all that I thought maybe it was the chipset on my motherboard, so I upgraded my motherboard (and had to upgraded my cpu and ram at the same time as both were incompatible with the new motherboard) but the problem persists. Its maybe a little better right now but seems to be getting worse again and I only changed all those components maybe two weeks ago. Google isnt helping anymore as it all the same stuff I was trying before, so I finally decided to create a thread of my own. The only idea I have left is that it might be a power supply issue but that seems unlikely as im not having any other problems related to power supply, everything else runs just fine with no hiccups. Really hoping you guys can give me some advice, I dont want to just throw money at the problem and hope it goes away. My PC specs as they are now are as follows: MSI Z 390 A Pro Intel i5 9600k 16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200Mhz DDR4 EVGA GTX 1080ti FTW3 EVGA SuperNOVA g2 650W 80+ Gold Fractal Design Meshify C case Dell S2716DG monitor Samsung 860 Evo 500gb SSd (this is the main boot drive and the one that I reformatted when I reinstalled windows) Western Digital Caviar Blue 1 TB 3.5" 7200RPM (this is a storage drive) Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks in advance.
  24. I have this really annoying popping/crackling sound coming from my audio, it appears that it comes forth when using any form of program/app-related audio. It is extremely annoying and very present when listening to constant sounds such as Spotify or while gaming, however it doesn't appear as frequently or rather next to nothing when doing browser related stuff like streaming or watching Youtube. The popping is especially sharp when audio is cut off/interrupted, for ex. when i pause a youtube video, then it is easily noticed. Here is a video showing an example, as seen in it the popping only appears when listening to the program section, but not when listening directly to the headphones. Video link: The popping/crackling that appears in the video when i press the volume slider for "Systemljud" aka system sound, is extremely prevalent in many programs, PUBG, Spotify, Wolfenstein 2, Vermintide 2 and etc. I'm not sure if it came before or after i got a new PC a some months, back I can't quite remember but I'm pretty sure that it was there back then as well. At first i thought it was my old headset (Steelseries siberia 800) but it is present in my new headphones as well. (Audio Technica AD700x) What I have tried: Updating drivers switching headphones switching headphone jack tried a USB adapter to which I'm pretty sure uses a small soundcard to convert 3.5mm jacks into USB changing format quality (currently running my lowest 44100hz 16 bit) removing any "improvements" under audio configurations and a bunch of other small random things like changing energy/power options in windows for example. I have also tested out latency with DPC Latency but it gave me a very inconsistent read and since i was unfamiliar with the procedure I didn't really count too much on it, maybe I should...? My guess is that windows 10 is having some sort of issue, but I just can't figure out what it is. Please type in any theory or suggestion, thank you! 25. Today when I went on my DIscord, I found that my microphone was randomly making loud 'popping' noises. So, I looked into this further and used the listen to this device feature on WIndows and it seemed that when I moved my mic at all, it would making a loud popping sound. Then, I remembered that I had a USB sound card. So, I plugged that in and the issue persisted. There was no popping yesterday; it was only this morning that it started. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
