Hello all, Not sure if this has been covered before but I searched the entire internet to find the pinout for the Dell Optiplex 9020 uSFF motherboard front panel connector and found nothing. Basically I got a few of these motherboards cheap and decided to make a NAS out of one of them. In an effort to do this I needed to figure out the pinout for the front panel connector to adapt it to a standard case There are 9 LEDs on the Dell OEM power switch breakout board which I believe are diagnostic lights and error code lights but for my purposes I only cared about the three below. So long story short 4 hours later I have the following tested/working and a cable built. Power Switch HDD LED PWR LED So far the system has been up and running normally for about 1 week and the LEDs and power switch function as expected If anything is wrong or I am missing something please let me know. Below are the diagrams (including switch panel and front audio looking at the motherboard connector from the top) that will allow the board to boot without errors in a generic case. If there is any interest on the rest of the build I can post pics and parts I used. Front Switch Panel Pinout: Front Panel Audio Connector: I figured out that pin 2 and 4 need to be jumpred by a 2.0mm pitch jumper to eliminate the "I/O Cable" error on boot. Since I'm using this board as a NAS I dont have any need for front panel audio so I likely wont continue to try to figure out this connector. With the above jumper in place and the above cable the board functions normally with a power switch, power LED and HD LED and will boot without errors. Thanks

I've been looking to build a 512gb RAM dual CPU server for some ML training (research papers I'm looking at didn't use GPUs, just multi-CPU, and 512gb VRAM is affordable only in cloud), as it's cheaper than cloud for the amount I plan on using it. Money is tight enough that only Ebay bargains qualify. I have 2 questions about a motherboard I have already bought (it was on auction), that of a Dell T630 workbench. 1) While I did expect proprietary connectors and functionality being offloaded to daughterboards (cough, enterprise HW, cough), I didn't expect the power switch pins (all front panel pins for that matter) to be replaced by a proprietary a connector (picture) to a "control panel" daughterboard. The pinout of the connector is to my knowledge undocumented. If anyone (knows someone who) jumpstarted this mobo, assistance would be greatly appreciated. If not, is it reasonable to assume that a pair of those pins would correspond to the usual power switch pins? How could I find which pair to jump without frying anything? Additionally, high res photos of the control panel board (top, bottom, back views) would be useful in determining the pins by traces, if anyone has a full system. This Dell support thread about a T300 has a Dell rep saying the control panel is required to power on: https://www.dell.com/community/PowerEdge-Hardware-General/POWEREDGE-T300-Front-Panel-40-Pin-header-help-Power-Button/td-p/5113102 However, I'm not sure this applies, as the model and connector format and pin count are all different. 2) The linked thread also lists the power distribution board as needed to boot a redundant PSU system (ambiguous if redundant PSU equipped or just capable). The T630 is redundant PSU capable. As is, I cannot just try booting it with an existing PSU, on account of the previous problem. I am unfamiliar with redundant PSU systems, so is it likely that the PDB is required to boot?

i know that psu cabels are normally not compatible between brands (sometimes even inside one brand) but from my understanding this noncomp always is because of the different wiring/pinout of the cabels. so i want to know from experience how different the pinout of corsair type4 and fractals psu are if someone know. or what other psu/brands also use the same wiring/pinout as fractal (ion+)

Hello all, Build: Asrock z87e itx 4770k Ripjaws ddr3 1600 x 16 Gigabtye rtx 2060 (one fan) HDPlex 400w nano atx combo a few noctua 40x10 fans noctua low profile cpu cooler Just trying to re-purpose some old hardware and complete my first mod. I have most the parts ready to go in but I'm still in a planning phase. The biggest thing I need help with is reusing the RF module. Does anyone have a pinout? I searched google but the best I could find is how to reuse it as a wireless controller adapter w/ and without an audino. The only functionality I'm trying to retain is the use of the power button and the led's working with it. All I know(what I read) is that it uses 3.3v so I'll have to grab a 5v source off the mobo and put a resistor inline. So, if anyone has done this before a few pictures on where to solder from the rf module would be better. Thank you.

Am creating custom cables for a build and am waiting for the Corsair AX1500i (none in stock until mid July). I want to create the cables now as the custom connectors from FrozenCPU have already turned up (made sure to get the Corsair ones as some are inverted, etc), but don't know which pin will be which on the back of the AX1500i PSU. Is there a guide somewhere of what the pins are on the back of Corsair PSUs?

Hello, Im working on the custom cables for my first watercooled pc, and I ran into an area where I could potentially streamline the plugs a little bit. I have my Alphacool D5 pump that uses a molex connector (using 12v and Gnd), and a NZXT USB hub that uses a molex as well, this time using the 5v and Gnd. Is it possible, since Ive already repinned and sleeved these cables, to combine them into one Molex connector? Thus eliminating a connector that I would add to my custom power cables for that section of the case. (Please note that Im inquiring about this because I enjoy efficiency, not out of laziness!) Are there any issues that this would cause? Is it a bad idea to run multiple components from one plug? Your help and advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks! (I think this is the correct place for this question, Im sorry if theres a better location!)

I have this MWE GOLD fully modular Cooler Master SMPS. I am planning to go for a full length custom cable. I have 2 doubts One with the color coding Two with the 24-28 mapping. This What I have understood. for 8 pin CPU and PCI-e (1,2,3,4) of PSU side top line goes to {1,2,3,4} numbered slots in CPU side and PCI-e side same way 5678 of PSU to 5678 of CPU/PCI-e. Now what is with the color Legend I am little confused. In the same way 24pin MOBO side to 18+10Pin SMPS side. I am unable to understand color. Can I blindly go with 1 Mobo to {1(18PIN PSU) and 1(10PIN PSU) top first pin in both 18pin and 10pin } i.e; we split the Wire 1 from mobo to 18PIN and 10PIN on PSU. Whats with Color Legend. Same way please also explain SATA and MOLEX

Hello, everyone! After wrestling with extensions for years, I've finally decided to create my own PSU cables. I've purchased all tools required, but I'm now learning pins aren't standardized on the PSU side. I've found my correct pinout for my model of PSU, but I'm slightly confused as to why I'm needing to split my wires. Below is an image showing each pin has a place, but simply in a new location. Can somebody please explain to me why four splits are needed for EVGA G-2 / G-3 PSUs? Again, it appears only the locations change...

So.. I derped! I was in the middle of sleeving my brand new PSU (Aerocool P7 850W Platinum), and of course I didn't make a wiring diagram and then.. I didn't secure the pins properly, and of course some of them fell out! . I tried reaching out to Aerocool, but they only provided me with a gauge schematic, and told me the pinout was a secret???? (not a very well hidden secret, as anyone with a cable (that hasn't screwed it up) can see this! So.. Now i hope one of you fine people in here have the same PSU, and are willing to make me a simple diagram showing the connections for the 24 pin to the 10/18 pin plugs on the PSU end (just be aware its a trade secret LOL) otherwise I'll be looking at buying a new PSU, as i have 0 clue on how to measure my way out of this mess Hope on of you good people can help me out... A simple drawing of the plugs with the pins marked 1-24 will do just fine Hope someone has the same PSU and can help me out!

Hi, Does anyone know where I can find an accurate or an up-to-date pin layout for the Corsair HX1000i or any HXi series? I'm doing custom sleeving for this unit and I know each brand and model varies. I know I can use a multimeter, but I feel like a pictorial guide would be a bit easier. If I can't find one online, I may just make one with a multimeter. This is one that I have found online but I think its somewhat outdated and not completely sure how accurate this is today.
