I finally built myself an upgrade from the old Phenom x4 9750 computer I was using. The build consists almost entirely of used parts with a few re-used parts and a SSD I bought new but had been using in the old rig. Parts and prices as follows Case - PowerUp AK-27 Blue PSU - COOLER MASTER Real Power Pro RS-650-ACAA-A1 650W ATX that was also used in that build. Mobo - I used a Dell Optiplex 790 mobo because it was only $18 shipped on eBay. I was not thinking about all the proprietary connectors and additional items I'd have to purchase that would make this mobo with it's required parts as expensive as a normal $40 mobo. I had to get the power switch, front panel I/O, case fan, and heatsink/fan from a Dell. CPU - I got an i5-2400 from eBay for $51 shipped. Ram - I got 4 2gb sticks of generic ddr3 from eBay for $20 shipped. GPU - I reused the Radeon HD 6870 I got from craigslist for $40 and had been using in the old rig. SSD - I got a 240gb Team Group L3 EVO from Newegg for $55 shipped that I had been using in the old rig. Today I have the ViewSonic VX2458-C-mhd a great monitor but I feel like I could have better for a good gaming and viewing experience. I've made some diging and found these monitors : For gaming : LG 27GN800P-B and for viewing films and else : ASUS TUF Gaming VG289Q1A tell me if anything's wrong with it. To be clear : my budget is for all the parts I can change except the case, the RAM and my SSD & HDD since it's still useful, maybe a second HDD/SSD depending on what's left of my budget. https://youtu.be/oFi9LoLyesY Aight so i picked up this monitor from work thinking i could fix it, but i have no idea what the problem is. When i reset it all to factory settings, it works just fine for about 15 seconds, but after that it craps all over itself as seen in the video. Tearing, vertical lines, colors are not vivid at all, and its almost like the bottom half of the screen is a mirror of the top half, as you can see in the vid the task bar is like an inch or two above the bottom of the screen. I posted ab this on the PCMR reddit but i havent heard much yet, so here i am lol. -

So a little while ago, I was looking at task manager to check out how my CPU was doing with some mods in some games, and I noticed that some of my ram is being reserved by hardware. But the thing is, it only used to say 94MB hardware reserved and it still left me about 15.9GB which was completely fine, but now it states that 3 whole Gigabytes are being used which has really REALLY been starting to worry me. I tried looking for answers but it's all either go to "msconfig" with (Win + R) and change your boot settings in advanced options which has NOT worked, or it was because someone had malfunctioning sticks of memory. I know it's not my RAM because I tested it in my friends PC and it worked perfectly, so it's something software related. (At least I hope..) So if anyone is able to reach out to me and help figure out what is going on, it would literally mean the world to me!! By the way incase anyone is wondering what memory I'm using, it's G-Skill Trident Z RGB in dual channel. :P

I only play cod games and watch 4k YouTube. I want a WIFI/ Bluetooth card. I only have one pcie 4x slot open, and its on the bottom of my board so plenty of space. this is the only card I could find with no outside of case wires. Hello boys, i'm not sure if it the right way to ask a question, so please if it is not feel free to let me now so i do it the right way. Well to begin with, Hello there, i am i need of advices for a combo motherboard (e-atx) CPU, arround 700€ total and at the moment i am not sure witch of amd or intel is the right way to go, atm i am using a Rampage 10 anniversary edition paired with a i7-6850K CPU, (with 8*2 gbs of 2133MHz memory), (i'll replace the memory after, i kbow that 2133 isnt good (actually they are 3333 but one of the stick give me bsod when i put it at his right clock) -Usage gaming mostly, VM's and renders -case Lian Li lancool digital (e-atx) -Using a 2070 Super -idk the name of it but i have a really big air cooler from noctua (the ugly one but very efficient) -nvme 970 pro 512gb + 1 to samsung ssd needs : i love to play with overclock settings, so a good bios would be appreciated, Before you answer, please thank you for the time you gave me.

Researchers of the University of Utah have successfully built a cluster of five Microsoft XBox One. Inspired by the various clusters built from PlayStation 3s, this monster machine is ready to take on the most demanding tasks. Don Dufrene, head of the laboratory, tells us: "We originally intended to build a much larger cluster, but could not provide financing. Thanks 'bama." Therefore, the team took all consoles acquired so far and connected them - with stunning results. "We are now able to run the latest and most demanding games with this." However, further refinement will go into the system because the scientists are not quite satisfied with the performance so far. "Take Battlefield 4 for instance. The game runs smooth, but quite often we encounter problems like massive lag, graphical errors or sudden instant deaths that happen for no particular reason. If we put enough effort into it, the system should be capable of running the game the way the developer made it. On the other hand, we are already able to enjoy the beauty of Assasin's Creed: Unity on the hightest settings, frame by frame. Fantastic!" The team have future plans, too. Given proper financial means, they could try to reduce the massive heat output that the cluster currently struggles with. Alternatively, research could clarify why Apple's iPhones run smoother than competitor's devices, even though it features less powerful components. Dufrene: "This appears to be quite a mystery, and thorough investigation could help a broad understanding of the matter."

Hi there, I got home from school a couple hours ago and the power was out. Eventually the power turned back on and I went to turn my pc on but it wouldn't boot. The standby lights on the motherboard are on but pressing the power button does nothing. I have tried using a different power supply but that doesn't do anything. I do not know what to do. PLS HELP

After getting a bit frustrated trying to go into pc gaming on his laptop, he came back with this build after just a day of planning. Me and my other friend who is into PCs were making jokes about PCMR in a lesson, and then we got a lecture about how racist saying it was and how offensive and the like. 1- Can PCMR be considered racist? 2- How to convince someone that it isn't (I think they think we are neo-nazis or something)??

I already have 2 good PC's I been over the fence to get a PS4Pro but damn, those games are expensive not like on PC, which is what is holding me back, I won't pay for online multiplayer, for that I have my PC here's the thing: should I get the normal PS4 (bundled with unchartred) for $257 or the Pro for $400 whenever Amazon gets it back on stock No, I don't have a 4K TV and I'm not planning to buy one in the future, But I like decent framerates Why do I want a PS4? the only reason is good for, exclusives that's it, I already have BD reader and burner on my PC, and I'm used to K&M what do you guys think?

Alienware Alpha R2 (2016) Hello, so in mid 2016 Alienware re-visioned there SFF gaming PC (Alpha) which was originally a Steam-OS Box but due to Valve running on "Valve" Time they added a fresh copy of windows 8 and a Xbox 360 controller to recoup some of the hardware engineering costs until steam-OS announced. So now they are here with the revision 2 (R2) and by god am I surprised! With the size of about a Wii (or Wii U Game pad) it has A LOT of hardware under the hood. For the base model (Pricing and availability completely up to Dell and Alienware) it rocks a i3 6100T (the T is meaning a low wattage/TDP) and a GTX 960 A full desktop GPU inside! (4GB GDDR5) and it can go all the way to a 6700T and if you desire more graphics processing you can hook the box up to a Alienware Graphics Amplifier which is limited to alienware laptops (and the alpha). So benchmarks are here, Battlefield 1 (Ultra) 1080p 75FPS Average CS:GO 1080p (Auto High) 200FPS + Doom (Vulkan) 1080p (Auto Ultra) 67-70FPS Average Battlefront (StarWars) 1080p Ultra 60FPS With all this said this is a VERY Competent 1080p Gaming Box and I would love it if Linus or Luke could review it. Hey LTT! I thought i'd start a fun topic for everyone to show of the game library they have on their Steam/Origin/Uplay. This way we can see who has the most awesome #PCMR library of games but can also give people recommendations for unique games you find in someone's library. Maybe this is a way to find your new favorite game? I'll start of with mine! All my games (except CSGO) are stored on an external RAID0 harddrive array with 6TB and the folder currently takes up about 1.14TB In there you'll find a bunch of different games from even more genres. In Steam i have: Origin comes in with these titles And Uplay also has a few Overall this is about 100 Games which i've probably played like 40% of and completed even less lol. All hail GabeN and the Summer Sale! So if you find a game in my list you wanna know more about and i happen to have played it actually then go ahead and ask some Excited to see your guy's libraries as well!

So on PCPARTPICKER i have created a parts list for a computer i want to build soon and custom loop it shortly after link to the pc partpicker list http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/KjwmLD purpose of this build is predominately gaming/video recording+editing. im a uk college student(i work part time), this build will be built, no later than Q1 2017(weird ik) so obviously some things will change and i will review what hardware is available nearer to the time of building within the list is the link to sheet i stored the water cooling parts i want to do raid 0 for some fast mass storage, preferably minium of 2x 2tb+ drives, the drives need to be reliable can anyone recommend a drive? i want fans set up so there is minimal dust intake, and that preferably the rear and top fans are exhaust. can anyone recommend 3x120mm AF fans, 3x120 SP fans and a single 140 AF fan and is it possibly to mount the nzxt hue+ onto the psu shroud/basement cover, either with bluetac or screws or should i run the leds from the mobo what length LEDS should i get preferably one for the top and the bottom. any help is gratefully appreciated, going for black and red theme with white accents ( red fluid, white fittings) many thanks. -

It all happened when my pc (that time it was running windows build 1703) went into some BSOD errors after an update on my BIOS. Therefore, I went to youtube and tried to find some solutions to solve the issue but it ended up worse as the solution wasn't just useless but also caused me getting errors like BCD/BOOT 0x000000f errors when I tried to reinstall windows from my USB drive. Then, I gave up and brought the PC to a computer shop asking for their help, and they thought that the SSD was the one causing the issue(as it did have problems), therefore they just asked me to bring the SSD back to warranty. Well, I did and when i got back home, i tried reinstalling the windows again, the same error popped out again. So afterward, I tried reinstalling windows by booting from the UEFI (I know I should have tried that earlier) and tried to install the latest version of windows using my USB drive. The installation didn't work, therefore i went and try downloading other isos like 1511 and it finally worked. But the thing is that whenever I install the feature update of windows (1703) it never works, it will just enter the restore to the previous version of windows page for some reason. So then, i thought maybe i needed to update to 1607 build first, and the update of 1607 works , but when I tried installing the 1703 update it failed again and run into the same error and restores back to the previous version of windows. *Also note that once, I tried to reset the bios version with the jumper, which I think I might have done it wrong as I tried booting up my pc with the jumper on clear-CMOS, I don't know if that might be the problem or not.(As I know that we were supposed to power off the system instead of powering one during clear CMOS process) *And I've also tried installing the windows on my other hard drive both didn't work for windows 1703. MY PC CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 MOBO: Asrock AB350 Pro4 RAM: 8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000MHZ GPU: MSI R9 380 4GB PSU: CORSAIR RM650X HDD: 1) Western Digital Blue(500GB)(with os now) 2) Western Digital Green(1TB)(for games)\

Hi, Currently I have a GTX 1060 6GB paired with a I5 7600K(Stock) on this PSU: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/kolink-kl-600-600w-80-plus-bronze-power-supply-ca-012-kk.html . My computer is build by overclockersuk and I want to upgrade to a GTX 1080 ROG STRIX for 1440p gaming. I have a few questions: 1. Will my PSU support the card? 2. How hard is it to install (I don't wanna break something I've saved for 6 months for)? 3. Whilst installing will I have to move anything about? Will I have to change the cables I'm using? Hey community, i want to build a pc so i started out with an incredible plan Used HP i7-3770 system with Quadro and 4GB RAM (4 ram slots and max frequency 1600MHz) also 1TB HDD for $354 Give em some lit HyperX Fury (4x2GB) DDR3-1866 for $67 Change that Quadro 2000 to a shiny XFX RX 570 4GB for $222 What do you think guys, here are some other information : 1. Where do i live Indonesia, where RX Cards are not that expensive but ram is very expensive (and not much PC enthusiast) 2. Reason why i made the decision I already have an old 2009 PC (LGA 775), i will try to sell it for $120 and buy a SeaSonic X650 3. Display? Samsung FHD Curved TV will connect it via HDMI 4.
