Desktop 2023.12.13 - 18.05.36.03.DVR-cut-merged-1702530922321.mp4 PROBLEM: My screen flickers with artifacts and weird patterns and in the flicker will often focus on some random element of the page mid flicker but normally that is too difficult to make out. DETAILS AND CONTEXT: This happens on a new PC, no more than a couple months old. This happens 90% of the time on web browsers. I first noticed this on youtube and normally it would take a while after booting up my pc for it to happen for it's first time, then afterwards it would happen at regular intervals: once every 20 seconds to 5 minutes. It does not happen in games although when I did boot up fortnite in a virtual machine it did have a constant random black chunk/pixel effect on playermodels ingame at all times. It has at times paused for a handful of seconds whilst blacking out parts of my screen and focusing on a random UI element. Sites with 3d renderings will sometimes flicker and focus on the raw unfiltered 3d object on pages like the space X falcon 9 previews such as the one below. (I do not have an image of this happening saddly) It is also currently cutting the falcon 9 picture up into black chunks at random as I am typing this message. part of my screen has gone black and maintained that for a couple of seconds before like this on discord while i was watching a discord live stream. it blacked out like this drawn image below Things I've tried: I have disabled and re enabled multiplane overlay. used DDU to uninstall graphics drivers and searched up nvidia drivers online to install updated bios replaced GPU twice replaced cpu once replaced memory once enabling and disabling XMP used 1 stick of memory at a time replaced motherboard twice used different displayport cable used different monitor used different nvme ssd with a fresh install of windows multiple times unplugged every other storage device besides boot drive disabled hardware acceleration WHICH DOES WORK ON CHROME but that is not a fix, that is a bandaid on an issue that still persists on other applications such as discord done plenty of random command prompt and powershell repair commands although I can not remember them right now, these issues persist on fresh installs of windows though so it doesn't make much sense to me for a generic repair command to fix this problem. updated all drivers i could find At this point I believe the problem lies within my power supply or a cable from my power supply but I haven't been able to test that, I don't have cables lying around or a psu capable of swapping out. I don't really know what to do beyond replace my power supply. I think the issue is with GPU as Monster Hunter World gives the GPU 12 error. Doesn't just crash in MHW but also crashes in god of war, palworld, cyberpunk, Baulders gate , etc. Fixes I have tried include: 1. Reseat RAM 2. Reseat GPU 3. DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) 4. Check connections 5. Update BIOS 6. Update drivers 7. Fresh install of windows 8. Checked game validity 9. cleared CMOS and updated everything again 10. Removed overclocks (MSI afterburner and turned off XMP) 11. underclocked (Through MSI afterburner) 12. Swapped MB (upgraded, didn't think this was an issue) 13. Swapped CPU (Upgraded didn't think this was an issue) 14. Fans on max rather than 50% (Therefore not temperature related, CPU is in the mid 80s max and GPU is in the 60s to 70s max) I have generally done all the easy stuff that I know of. Feel free to suggest anything not on the list as I may have forgot a simple trick. My setup is as follows which is custom build: 4090 MSI suprim model AMD 7800X3D but issues were also with a 7600X 64GB RAM DDR5 5600MHz Corsair vengeance 2TB SSD crucial (Cant remember model, GEN 3) - OS is installed here 4TB SSD (Cant remember model, GEN 4) - Game files installed here MSI X670E Carbon for motherboard, had a X670E ASUS Prime with the 7600X with the same issue. MSI MEG Ai1300p PSU - 1300 watt 80+ platinum PSU Running dual monitor both using Display port 1. Side panel - a VGA 60hz panel nothing special from Samsung, fairly old 2. Main panel - 32 inch Ultragear+ 4k 144hz IPS panel. Let me know if there is any other info required

i have a dell XPS 8940, came with a gtx 1660, i got it for cad work but found out it runs games on lower setting very well. i used it for 2 years of university but all of a sudden its stopped working. So, night before the issue, i was watching YouTube, powered down normally, the next day however i got a black screen on boot then it booted up again and stared using the internal GPU, apparently my PC could no longer see my 1660, i tried to install new drivers thinking id fell behind on updates but i got the error: not compatible with this version of windows..... now if i boot the pc with the 1660 installed it get power for a second then dies, no power at all, and wont turn on. when i take the 1660 out, remove the CMOS battery for 15 secs and reboot it runs perfectly fine (using internal GPU) what could possibly be the issue here!? im stumped... extra: when im on chrome it works, YouTube is fine, but as soon as i open Netflix (on chrome) and log in, the screen goes black, EVERYTIME! forcing me to restart the pc by taking the power supply line out and removing CMOS battery before booting again.

Something is seriously wrong with my pc, and I have no idea what it is. I’m experiencing occasional blue screens, application crashes, and games breaking/falling apart. I’ve attached some photos of examples bellow. In the first photo (which I like to call door horse) my game went from being completely fine for 20 minutes, to having audio cut out and having that happen in the place of a cut scene. Other examples include ground textures not being rendered, or just normal crashes to desktop. These issues also aren’t exclusive to red dead, as many other games are experiencing crashes and randomly freezing (doom eternal, minecraft, destiny 2 and the last of us, however Red Dead 2 is just the most extreme example of the issues I’m experiencing.) Many of these crashes are also accompanied by a notification telling me to verify integrity of game files, but doing so hasn’t resolved anything. My pc is also somehow completely fine at editing intensive footage (Sony 4:2:2 10bit xavc s 140mb/s footage from my a7iv) in both premier pro and after effects, as well as being completely fine at rendering. My pc was also somehow completely fine at playing TLOU when it first dropped on pc as a broken mess, however now it is basically unplayable with consistent crashing and having to open the game 3 times to actually get it to work. My specs are an i713700kf, 32gb of 3600mhz ddr4 ram, 2tb ssd, a 3060 Ti, 850w psu, and an asus B660 motherboard. Both the cpu and motherboard have been replaced via warranty, and my pc has been tested with both other sticks of ram and other gpus (3200mhz 16gb and a 2060 respectively). My pc was also given to a repair shop, and replacing the ssd showed the same issues. We have gone through multiple windows installs, and my pc has been rebuilt multiple times. This has been going for months and it feels like we are getting nowhere, and if someone has any idea what’s wrong it’d be greatly appreciated. One important note is that my pc seemed to act mostly fine when the cpu was replaced, as it’d let me play Red dead for 1-3 hours before anything weird would happen. Replacing the cpu was the closest I’ve been to actually fixing this pc. Also, my blue screen codes have been varied, but ‘Video memory management internal’ and ‘irql not less or equel’ have shown up at least twice respectively. Any help would be appreciated, and thank you in advance

Hey everyone, 6 months ago I bought a High End PC. I had a I9 10900, a MSI RTX 2070 Super Gaming X Trio, 32GB of Corsair Ram, A bequiet Dark Rock Pro 4, a Samsung 970 Evo Plus NVme SSD with 1TB, a Seagate HDD with 4TB, MSI Z490 Unify Motherboard and a Corsair HX 850I as PSU. Middle the last year I had problems with the MSI Software I had lags in every game and low fps too so I had to reset my PC. After that nothing was stuttering and everything was good. Than in Dezember I played Warzone and thought my PC was slow so I resetted it again. After that my games weren´t smove and it stuttered a bit. I resetted my PC again with a USB Stick. The same problem... Then I decided to upgrade my gpu. So I bought a Gigabyte Eagle RTX 3080 OC. I resetted my pc after the installation and let DDU run. After that there were no lags but the game was still not smove. So I resetted my PC again. And again there were lags. 1 week later I resetted the PC again. And 5 days ago I resetted it again. Nothing helps. I hope you can help me with that problem. Sorry for my bad English, im from Germany.

My girlfriends PC started crashing yesterday when she was on photoshop. She restarted it thinking it wasn’t an issue but after a couple seconds of it being on the fan lights dim down in the pc case, her peripheral‘s shut off then back on, the screen goes black and goes back to booting up. This happens every couples seconds of the PC being on. I switched out the PSU and the problem still occurs. took gpu out and still occurs. Decided to take all the ram out (gpu was still plugged in at this point) and the problem didn’t occur. I got extra ram i had and put it in the system and it happens again. Took out CMOS and put it back in, still occurs. Tried to install new bios to MOBO and still occurs. I’m thinking it’s the motherboard but don’t know why when the ram was taken out it was perfectly fine. Could be the ram slots on the motherboard that went bad.

so i been having this issue while just using none gaming applications such as file explorer or other just normal applications on being on my desktop. at first i thought maybe my display port cable was doing something weird given i have also noticed my pc cant hold a stable frame rate in games right now. not that its low frame rate just completely unstable. i bought two new DP cables and both have the same the problem so maybe its not the DP cable. how im seeing my frame rate of my desktop is with a built in FPS counter in my monitor i have an asus pg279q i can also feel it heavily getting around like 7 to 20 fps with applications that arent heavy at all. i mean i also get them in things like premier pro and photoshop but this feels very new i guess what im asking is. has anyone seen this before what could cause this. have i just never noticed this? i feel like for things Premier pro this is new

So, I have a pretty nice PC, Ryzen 7 3700x, 16 GB of ram, 1660 Super, not insane but certainly nothing that would freeze when preforming background tasks. I started to notice after using my PC for about an hour that it was really slow, like really, really slow. I tried to open Firefox and it took at least 15 seconds. My first reaction was as it should be, restart the computer, once the PC was booted up, I imminently tried to open task manager to see what the issue was, but it was so slow it kept crashing. I restarted again, and again, and again, to no avail, still impossibly slow and still not able to open stupid task manager. I even shut down then unplugged my pc for 10 mins just to make sure things were truly dead. At one point I was able to open task manager just to see that CPU was at 100% while the whole system was idle but when I tried to find out what program was causing this (at this point I thought I might have installed a virus) task manager just stopped working. If someone could please help, at this point I am considering a clean Windows install but I would really like to not lose all my files.

So my build is about 3-4 months old. Specs are as followed; I9 10850k asus prime z490 32gb 3600mhz cl16 gskill trident z Asus Strix 3070 samsung 980 1tb NVME 500gb ssd Corsair 4000x white Corsair rm850x PSU NZXT Kraken z53 one day I turned the PC on and my GPU had the red lights over the PCIE plugs red so that means it wasn’t getting the right power and the case fans started starting and stopping idk what that was about. But I shut it down let it sit, turned it back on and everything works, except when I restart the PC. The CPU seems to restart but the motherboard doesn’t I guess. The peripherals stay on, and lights in the OC don’t turn off and back on like they used too, I haven’t had a real issue yet but it seems imminent. ASUS said to RMA but I want to make sure that’s the right choice to make first, I tried reseating stuff and troubleshooting myself but couldn’t really find anything out. Thanks! PS: pic of PC attached

*Update* - After some testing, ive found out that the problem was the Ryzen based power plans on Windows, the "Ryzen High Performance" seems to be the problem, switched to "Balanced" (the one that windows recommends) and it seems to work normal now. Hi all! So a weird thing started to happend on my computer, and I think it's on the ram side.. When I log on to my pc everything is fine, but if I dont use it for around 30 mintutes, suddenly it getting stuck and I cant use it unless I hard reset it. The reason I think it's a ram issue is because when that stuck happends, the ram lights also stops working (I have an 8x2 Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB kit 3200Mhz on CL16, almost a year old). In my trying to fix attemps I've reinstalled Windows, updated drivers for GPU and chipset and updated the BIOS to the latest version (im rocking a Strix B450-F Gaming with a R5 3600X) and of course disconneting and reconnecting the ram modules. Someone maybe know what can be the issue? Its really annoying, and I've never had this problem before with my PCs over the years.. Thanks to you all who will try to help, happy weekend

Hello, I need the advice of someone that is infinitely smarter than I am. I'm close to pulling my hair out as there must be things I'm doing wrong or am just missing completely. Ryzen 5600x Corsair H100i rgb platinum Rog strix b550-f gaming Corsair vengeance RGB pro ddr4 (3600mhz) Asus Strix GTX 980 Direct CU II Samsung 980 pro Samsung 970 Evo plus Corsair tx750m Corsair iCUE 220T The motherboard has a 8 pin and a 4 pin connector on the top left but the PSU only comes with an 8 pin EPS connector and no 4 pin EPS connector cables. This must be a problem for power right? Would this 4 pin power other stuff on the board (nvme drives and such as I have 2 of them?) Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated, I'm starting to get close to giving up, selling and buying a pre-built system. Kind regards, Jordan.

My spec list is below: PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/YPzmJM CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 3.7 GHz 6-Core Processor ($154.99 @ Newegg) Motherboard: NZXT N7 B550 ATX AM4 Motherboard ($237.99 @ Amazon) Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory ($114.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Western Digital Black SN750 500 GB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive ($69.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Samsung 870 Evo 4 TB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($379.99 @ Amazon) Video Card: EVGA FTW3 ULTRA GAMING LHR GeForce RTX 3080 10GB LHR 10 GB Video Card ($999.99 @ Amazon) Case: NZXT H510 Elite ATX Mid Tower Case ($144.99 @ Amazon) Power Supply: Corsair RM850x (2021) 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply ($149.99 @ Amazon) Monitor: Acer XV252Q Zbmiiprx 24.5" 1920 x 1080 165Hz Monitor ($337.58 @ Amazon) Total: $2590.50 So I have no idea what is causing my low fps. A few theories i've had is my cpu is not cooling, its using a stock cooler. Could it be thermal throttling at ~80 degrees? The gpu/cpu ratio is good from what i've heard. My motherboard possibly? It's a niche board that could have QA problems. Case airflow has been an issue with the NZXT cases. My cpu could be shit with the stock cooler, or the cases is not providing enough airflow? An example of this low performance is the new MW2. When I booted my pc and started playing I was hitting 200-250 fps on ultra maxed graphics, 1440p. After about 20 mins, the framerate had dropped to around 130-145 range, and around an hour later down to 90-110fps where it seems to have bottomed out, as I ranged the resolution to native 1080p, and slightly reduce quality on settings with large vram impact. The benchmark of 1440p at ultra graphics with my cpu/gpu combo was giving them 240+ fps steadily. This occurs on just about every demanding game these days. Why am I unable to achieve the fps that I paid for? Note: My fps in benchmark scores seem to hold their ground with the norm. I also have all my drivers up to date, including chipset, graphics, you name it. I am more than willing to pay for solutions to this dilemma. My GPU utilization hovers around 50-75% in most demanding Triple-A titles. The same goes for CPU utilization. TLDR: I have a mid-high tier gaming pc and am not hitting the performance I see in benchmarks on youtube. What is being bottlenecked/underutilized to cause this?

Hi, i just made a new PC with in the last 2 months. didnt have a problem initially because i guess maybe i didnt play for long enough sessions but When i play games Halo infinite campaign, jedi fallen orde, and call of duty my game will crash to a black screen that doesnt allow me to do any thing, no alt tab, windows key, nothing. just a fresh reboot. Call Of duty MW2 generally crashes pretty quick compared to the other two. It initially happened when match making now it happens in the menus too. Halo and jedi i can play the game for a good while before it eventually black screens. i reinstalled windows on Friday and it allowed me to play call of duty all weekend until Sunday evening when it started crashing again. is there some sort of HW monitor software that can record so i can see what is failing after the crash? Dont think is is over heating because currently have the case open still. running games at 2k unlimited fps Any help would be appreciated. updated graphics drivers and reinstalled windows. call of duty is on the SSD where halo and Jedi are on the hdds Graphics: phantom gaming 6900xt CPU: 13600k ram: vulcan ddr5 32gb 5600mhz mobo: asrocl z790 pro rs storage: 2tb m.2 gen 4 ssd, 4tb 500gb of hdd PSU: rog 850 gold

title says it all really as people try to offers solutions and help to others that encounter a problem or want answers to a question. too often i see a post asking for help but it turns into the party game 20 questions? if you have an issue with a pc laptop whatever .. please list ssystem specs and try to let us know what you have already attempted. The more and the clearer the information is the faster people that understand the issue could give you a correct solution instead of the back and forth.. So often I read posts that simply state "tried that already and it did not help" Not a problem but if the person that replied to you was aware that you had tried something already they would not ask you to do something you had already attempted.

Hi There, as per the title details, I am having issues with my PC, namely, the red CPU debug light turns on, no signal for my monitor, and my peripherals do not work. To provide some context I bought this CPU and I am aware that my motherboard needs a BIOS update, as I have already done. I installed the newest version of the BIOS for my mobo using the BIOS flashback feature with a USB that was configured with FAT32 after it was done installing as the red light stopped I shut off the PC, installed my CPU and cleared the CMOS using the jbat1 pins. I'd also like to add that this CPU has had some issues upon arrival, namely some of the pins were bent (which I have fixed and straightened), and two of the pins have broken off. I searched up the AM4 pin config and apparently those pins breaking off would still allow the system to at least boot to the BIOS which it is not presently. If needed I can provide images however at this moment I cant do much as nothing else has worked. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The specs are: Ryzen 5 5600x Corsair Vengeance 16gb 3600mhz MSI B450 Pro Gaming Carbon AC Corsair RM750x RTX 3070 Corsair H100i Platinum

Hi, so i recently built my new gaming pc: AMD Ryzen 9 3900x Noctua NH12A GeForce rtx 2070 super 32gb 3200 corsair rgb vengeance pro Asus TUF gaming x570 plus TX750M Corsair PSU 2tb barracuda HDD 258gb evo 970 plus m.2 ssd I primarily built my system for a variety of games but at the moment im even haveing lag spikes when playing CSGO which is quite frustrating. In the bios i enabled my docp profile and checked if everything was running which it was, i downloaded my gpu and cpu drivers.. Another issue i have is that i cant boot of of my ssd, each time i try it says that there was no signal found and it restarts and boots off of the hdd. I would really appreciate if someone could help me with this since it is really frustrating.

So i built a new pc that has an asus maximus 8 gene mobo, 32 gb of ram, an i7-6700K, zotax amp edition gtx 1080, a 750w psu, and a 500gb ssd with windows 10 as the os. I am having 2 issues with my built. The first is that while playing a game like bf1 my processor is at 100% usage and the temps are at 65 to 70 degrees Celsius and my h100i temp is at 35 degrees (the temp issue i think is because of the cooler dying). the second issue is that when ever i start up the pc the screen will flicker with a glitch like pattern and the only way to fix it is to start roocket league. I have no idea what is wrong and i wonder if someone does.

I built my new pc a couple of days ago and it started disconnecting from my monitor when I turn it on and leave it for about 30 minutes to an hour and in games its 10-15 minutes. My GPU idle temps are 40-50C and when I'm playing games its about 70-80C I checked my PSU it seems fine and my MOBO is also fine. I am using a HDMI (with 240hz monitor) because I don't have a DP just yet its coming later tomorrow. Its been happening for about 10 Hours now I'd say. Hi Guys, I just built my first PC. After I finished building it I tried to boot it into the bios but I am stuck in a boot loop and my monitor gets no signal. The PC turns on for about 20 seconds and then switches off for 3 seconds and repeats. Most people say that I should pop my CMOS out and put it back in, but this would only reset the bios. My parts are brand new and since I never actually managed to get into the bios and hence never changed anything I hardly believe that a bios reset will help. Do you have any help on how to fix this? When I then tired to turn it on again there was no signal on the screen. Why is this happening? Can´t play and can´t access my PC :( What should I do? I have not touched the inside of the PC for 1-2 months. Hello, if had this for quite a while and nothing i tried seemed to help. The Problem: whenever im playing games, the gpu usage spikes at random times to 100% even when the usage before that was like 30% and then the game crashes. It's only with some games and its not consistent, sometimes a game works for hours sometimes i cant even start it properly or change settings etc. Benchmarks work fine. sometimes an error message shows up saying the graphics driver has crashed. Tried solutions: Driver/ windows updates, fresh install of both with ddu, enabling disabling g sync, using only one monitor, using lower settings, underclocking, stress test with benchmark to see if the psu is the problem. Specs: GTX 1080ti I7-7700 16gb ram msi z270a pro 2tb hdd 500gb ssd 600w psu windows 10 64 bit
