Hello, I need help in buying a keyboard. Which one of the three should I chose? One of them has Outemu red switches and also full layout but isn't hot-swappable: Hator Rockfall - gaming keyboard | Hator official website official website. One of them has Gateron clear swithes and its bluetooth, TKL, USB-C connection, multimedia keys and it's hot-swappable: Skyfall TKL - Hator official website The last one has Kailh black optical switches and its TKL and it's hot-swappable: Rockfall EVO TKL - Hator official website PS: The outemu red is the cheapest, the kailh one is a little more expensive and the gateron one is the most expensive.

I have a red dragon k552 it has notorious Outemu blue's in it , my dad can't stand the sound. the Outemu socket is proprietary so I need another Outemu switch to fit in the socket no other switch will work. I want to switch them with outemu silent gray's does any one know if the Outemu silent gray's are any good I know that they are tactile. but do they have and quirks or (issues with the switch it's self not with the platform) if so what would you recomend?

I have been struggeling these past few weeks to choose a good prebuilt mechanical keyboard. The only switch that I can find within my price range are outemu switches. Now I do not care about if they have ping or such “nonsense” I just want you guys’ opinion about what switch I should get. I know that it’s all preference, but I want your experience. You can share you’re experience even though you don’t have Outemu switches. In regards of the keyboard. I have been looking at the Redragon K552 which has options for blue and red switches from outemu. And another keyboard I have seen that entices me is the Tecware Phantom TKL which gives me the option for blue, brown and red switches. I just want your guys’ opinion on these so that I can hopefully choose. I must add that My brother has a blue mechanical keyboard which I have tried, it has some unknown company’s blue switches but I found that I play way better with the tactile’ness of the blues than on a membrane keyboard. If reds don’t feel like membranes then I will probably want reds.

Hi everyone I am about to buy a pre-assembled mechanical keyboard to play FPS Games and I am between two options, one has Outemu switches and the other with Kailh switches both in red. I'm interested in things like quality and sound (silent) which do you consider better? Also if you can recommend keyboards like this for less than 50USD in amazon thank you very much

Let me preface this by saying, I'm using this keyboard as a replacement for my Corsair K95 because that board did not fit my "aesthetic". Is it a bad decision? Maybe, maybe not. I don't care for RGB too much, I was not a fan of the black color and it was simply massive. Instead I sold it, purchased some smart home outlets and the K550 Yama. The Yama is almost identical to a Corsair board but has that lovely Apple industrial coloring scheme going on. Other than the design (albeit imitated), the price is quite appealing, going anywhere from $64.50 to $78.90 through their Amazon store. TL;DR It's a great board, not only great for the price but great in general. The OUTEMU PURPLE switches are, in my opinion, the best switches out there(It's a heavy red with the bump of a blue but without the click). It's built like a tank, has 12 macro buttons in an odd position, gross wrist rest, media keys and a (somewhat cheap feeling) scroll wheel for volume. In addition, it has extremely vibrant RGB lighting but lacks a variety with modes(You can make custom profiles though). It's got some ABS key caps, which suck the big one, a nice cable, pleasing aesthetics and is the best choice whether you're an experienced mech typist or a newbie. With the basic introduction out of the way, let's move into the keyboard, section by section. WHAT COMES IN THE BOX It's a cheap box that is probably less than a sheet of paper, a key puller, a wrist rest that is glossy plastic with a honeycomb texture(Makes me feel like an oily pig, hate it), magnetic pins to hold the rest in and a poorly translated manual http://prntscr.com/ezx4w5 http://prntscr.com/ezx67c BUILD This keyboard is built like a tank and could probably be used as a weapon if you're in a sticky situation. The top plate is made of aluminum with a brushed finish that accents the white plastic used elsewhere on the board. The underside of the board is constructed of a durable, white, plastic and not much else, what did you expect? Oh, what you expected were feet on the bottom? Unfortunately for you the feet raise the board nearly less than an inch, with no rubber on them to prevent slips, meaning you will hardly know they're there... Oddly enough, I thought my biggest issue would be the USB cable but it is stupid durable. The rubber on the USB cable coming out of the board (before the termination into 2 USB heads) has the diameter of a toddlers thumb (which is wide) and its point of termination is a large, solid brick of rubber. The USB cables attached to the heads are the same as any standard USB cord out there, so nothing interesting to see here. http://prntscr.com/ezxd7z http://prntscr.com/ezxe9d http://prntscr.com/ezxeyd http://prntscr.com/ezxff2 KEY CAPS I'll make this short, the keycaps are ABS garbage that feel like tissue paper on your finger tips. The are laser engraved from the inside of the key so it will last forever but the light shines through the caps making the board look TERRIBLY cheap. Oh, I almost forgot, they have a disgusting "Gamer" font that's worse than Razers. TL;DR Buy some new damn caps. http://prntscr.com/f01h45 http://prntscr.com/f01hdk G-KEYS, MEDIA KEYS The macro keys are decent but they are in a TERRIBLE position. It will take me longer to press the macro button than it will to execute it myself (Unless it's extremely long). I suppose it makes longer macros simple? Perhaps they're best for shortcuts? The only time I used them, were for shortcuts in Ableton Live since the placement is so bad. They make up for the awful placement with easy, yet stupid simple programming. Press "Rec" to record your key presses, then press one of the G Keys (G1 through G12) and you're done! The manual is so poorly translated that I will now type out how you delete single macros and all of the macros. To delete a single macro, press "Rec" then press the macro key you wish to delete and you're done (All it did was overwrite the G key with a blank recording lol). If you want to delete all of them, hold the record key down for 5 seconds and you're done. The keys (Macros, media, lighting keys) themselves are all membrane, from what I can tell, and are quite firm/tactile. My least favorite part of this entire board is the volume scroll wheel. This wheel is the most unsatisfying, cheap feeling, pain inducing, piece of Chinese TRASH that I've laid eyes upon. There is this TERRIBLE wiggle room/dead zone that transitions into, loose yet defined scroll steps. Your media keys are standard, Play/Pause, Fastforward, Skip, Stop, Mute etc....Except there's a button to swap arrowkey functionality with WASD. http://prntscr.com/f01hv9 http://prntscr.com/f01img LIGHTING They've nailed the lighting. It's bright, vibrant, even, and does not look cheap. There are 7 colors to choose from (Red, Blue, Green, Pink, Yellow, White, and Cyan) BUT for some reason, it can produce all 16 million...I realized this when I saw the fade lighting effect that between colors it's displaying full RGB. You can record 3 custom presets by pressing "LR", then choosing your color for each key by pressing the key and then you press one of the preset buttons (L1 through L3) to save it. A minor issue I have is the windows lock key has to be pressed in order for you to use the presets for whatever reason. http://prntscr.com/f01jia http://prntscr.com/f01jst http://prntscr.com/f01k2v http://prntscr.com/f01kia SWITCHES, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS This keyboard uses Outemu Purple switches that have Cherry MX stems. These purple switches might be some of the best typing switches out there (IN MY OPINION) because of their brown like feel. Purple switches are a cross between your MX Red and blue. In short, these are heavy MX Red's with an MX Blue bump but lack that Blue click. Using a set of weights, in grams, the keys actuate at 55ish-60ish grams. This board has full N-Key Rollover/Anti-Ghosting so it will be fine for any application. http://prntscr.com/f01lzi IN BRIEF This is a very solid, and (imo) attractive board with an even more attractive price. Things I like, The OUTEMU PURPLE switches, The vibrancy of the lighting, The media keys, The addition of G-Keys, The stiffness of the membrane keys for the media functions, G-Keys etc. The layout, it's standard, yay The cable The tank-like construction Things I do not like are, The limited lighting effect options, The SHIT keycaps, The fact that my G-Keys, media keys etc. are membrane The SHIT volume scroll wheel, The lack of customization for macros, The terrible keyboard feet The plasticky wrist rest

Hey gamers, just saw LTT's new video on the custom mechanical Keyboards and Boi I think it's better if I just buy a keyboard, in Australia keyboards with switches are around $100-$130 for knockoff/Chinese switches and are more expensive for cherry ones and I was wondering if this $39 Outemu Kogan Keyboard is any good? https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-full-rgb-mechanical-keyboard-blue-switch it seems ok and Outemu switches seem decent, I've never used mechanical Keyboards so this should be a upgrade right? Also where do I buy other switches for cheap and I can hotswap them right? How do I know the RGB will work and I'm planning to buy these eBay switches and replace some of the keys for gaming / osu. Since the outemu red Kogan Keyboard is $99. Do you guys think it's worth it or should I buy proper keyboard?(https://www.centrecom.com.au/tt-esports-meka-pro-mechanical-gaming-keyboard-cherry-mx-red) I was originally planning to buy this keyboard but saw a much greater value at Kogan at that $39 price point! https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mechanical-Switch-Keyboard-Blue-Brown-Black-Red-Replacement-for-Cherry-MX-Kit-VG/133009543947?var=432303686909&hash=item1ef7fc930b:m:m0XLOe3BsSxjD8i3OyffEGw https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-full-rgb-mechanical-keyboard-blue-switch/

So I am looking for new KB and I want it hot swappable and not spend over 100$ (I don't need switches and keycaps just board). I also need it to be TKL or 60% and to be full RGB (detachable cable would be good too). So far I found GMMK TKL and Tecware Phantom 87. GMMK TKL really attracts me with his look and features and the only thing that is meh is light are not bright enough (I actually need it to be bright so orange can be orange etc.) and some people say it's meh in general (btw I like it's loud stabilizers) while Tecware Phantom is really great for price but I am not sure if I can change stabilizers,it's cable is not detachable and BIGGEST problem about this one is it's limitation to outemu which is not good as I am planning to buy various types of switches and test them. Which keyboard should I pick or do you reccomend me one that fits my needs (compatibility with other switches and not just outemu would be really appreciated).

I want to get some new key caps for my keyboard (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Upgraded-Mechanical-Keyboard-Backlight-Anti-ghosting/dp/B074PJMKG4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1515009809&sr=8-1&keywords=B01FXN0SMS|B074PJMKG4|B076MPQNV2) will any cherry mx key caps work on this keyboard that is using Outemu switches since I have read that some Outemu switches have different stems.

For those who is only interested in my thoughts on Outemu blues go to the bottom. After weeks of research, few more weeks of waiting, and then close to 30 straight hours of soldering and desoldering. I finally finished my first custom mechanical keyboard Months ago I found someone selling a broken Ducky Shine 3 for $30 on Craigslist. He wouldn't say much so I decided to take a gamble and just bought it. Turns out many of the led had died, some of the switch was snapped off, some of the keycaps were in poor condition, and he took the cool snake spacebar away. I looked around everywhere and nobody was willing to sell just a spacebar so I ended up having to buy a whole set on ebay for $17. I also needed to replaced the leds so I bought a bag of 100 flangeless for 5$ And lastly I needed new switches to replace the few broken ones so I decided to cheap out and bought 40 Outemu blues from Mechanicalkeyboards for 26$ Thoughts on Outemu blues starts here. Everything came in nicely except for a few problems I ran into with the Outemu blues. So here is my experience and thoughts on them. 1, They are inconsistent in their actuation force. 5 out of 40 them feels heavy, much more like cherry greens rather than cherry blues. 2. The led cutout was awful. 2 out 40 where the led was suppose to go wasn't cut properly so the led wont sit flat and lead to keycaps hitting the led when you type. A lot more of them were cut too largely, although this was less of a problem, but because of the way they left a giant gaping slot on the side of the switch (see picture compare to cherry) , it lead to a problem where you have to center the led after you solder it 3. The clear housing although very cool to look at, it is extremely fragile. Trying to remove the key switch from a plate mounted without proper tool (i just used a small flat head screw driver to get the latch) will cause the clear plastic to bend easily especially where the led goes. This didn't happen on the cherry. So this basically leads me with 7 "defective" blues. Don't get me wrong, when they aren't defective, I can barely tell them apart from a cherry blue other than lower pitch click that the Outemu make. But only having 33 out of 40 "perfect" ones that you paid for kind of defeats the purpose of saving those 20 cents per switch when compared to cherry. So statistically speaking base on my order, if 17.5 switches out of 100 you order will end up being "defective" you are probably still better off getting the genuine cherry switches or try a different clone. I hope my information on these switches were informative and please share with anyone that are planning to buy Outemu blues.

Hi I'm new to this forum and I have been researching on mechanical keyboards for about a month now. I live in the Philippines (it's in south east asia) and I'm on a budget of roughly $90 for a mechanical keyboard. I'm not sure what my priority is in looking for a mech keyboard but I've read about the e-element keyboard on massdrop (https://www.massdrop.com/buy/e-element-rgb-keyboard) and I've also found the Motospeed inflictor on Gearbest.com (http://www.gearbest.com/keyboards/pp_298472.html).Both of which sport the Outemu blue switches. I feel like getting a mechanical keyboard that is Full size, Cherry mx switches (If possible, but Kailh would be good enough) and colored backlighting~ What keyboards could you guys suggest? (PS this is my first personal mechanical keyboard but I've had experience in using them) Thanks~
