Purchased a OnePlus Nord N100 phone in April 2021 and new Oxygen11 OS completely halted all carrier data and SMS services. Problem with the new Oxygen 11 has been documented on OnePlus forums with no solution so far. https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/oxygen-os-11-no-internet-data-after-upgrade.1419288/ Phone is completely useless outside of wifi for data. Tried uninstalling Oxygen 11 and installing Oxygen 10 which only lasted 48 hours before it auto-downloaded and restarted itself to employ Oxygen 11, after auto-updates disabled in developer mode. Customer service for OnePlus fights you and only suggests posting in their forums in hopes that a software developer can rewrite a line of code to fix this...if they feel like it. $270, two 6-hour phone calls later and no solution.

I'm getting kind of annoyed at one plus with the way that they allow you to customize their alert slider. All I want is the top position to be completely silent with not vibrate, the middle to be vibrate with not sounds and the final position to be sound and vibrate. Has anyone found a fix for this?

Hey all, I made a tread yesterday asking advice about if One Plus 2 was a good choice. This thread made my reevaluate my options and I have new list of contenders now. I would appreciate any and all opinions, be it positive or negative. What the phone will be used for: Mostly Reddit and Spotify. A lot of spotify. be it via my crappy earbuds (I'l look into getting better ones) or in the car via AUX. Games, probably not but maybe a little. I've had Sony Xperia SP for two+ years now, and I haven't played a single game with it. I have PC for this purpose Geocaching. I might be jumping around some dank forest now and then, so I'm not sure if I want to get the most expensive item for this because there is a chance that I will break it. I'm looking for a life span of 1.5 - 2 years. Tech moves fast, 300€ phone in two years time will be probably twice as powerful regardless of what I get now. In the end, all of these will be a huge upgrade over my Xperia SP. --- Moto G4 Plus 16GB 2GB RAM at 270€ Very well priced, my ideal budget being around 200€-300€ Its still very new and gets updated. Not too special? Nexus X5 32Gb 2GB RAM at 350€ I absolutely love the design Pure android Seems expensive for what it is Over 20 day wait to get one (Where did all of these phones go?!) One Plus 2 64Gb 4GB RAM at 300€ Looks very "premium" Great specs I hear that the OS isn't the most stable one? One Plus 3 64Gb 6GB RAM at 400€ The flagship, absolutely killer phone. I don't think that I need this much power. The price will hurt. I could, but should I? Also, if you have something to suggest that you think that would fit my needs, do share!

Alright, so in the past week, my phone's battery life has just tanked. I have a Oneplus One running the latest update they have given me for Cyanogenmod on Marshmallow. My typical battery life in the morning when left at 100% the night before used to be about 92%. This was the case for most of the time I've had the phone (2 years or so). However in the past week, I get horrible battery life. Last night I had the phone at 100% at 10pm, then used it on Twitter for about 2 minutes with a total of just over 5 minutes of screen on time and now at 9 this morning it's at 77% battery life. That's a substantial change from 1 week ago. One thing I've noticed that is different in the past month or so is that about 2 and a half weeks ago, I downloaded Twitter for the first time. I probably use it 5-10 minutes a day at work and not at all on weekends. The other thing is that about a week ago (when the battery issues started) the Play Store was updating Apps and I got a notification for Google Assistant, which I hadn't used before. I set it up, but it doesn't seem to do much other than offer me weather information most of the time.Even though it's Android 6, I haven't seen a Doze feature anywhere in the settings, so I'm guessing that I don't have that installed (unless it's under a different name). I'm looking for some help, because the phone battery drains a lot faster, whether idle or not. I used to have 30-50% average batter life at the end of a typical day at work, now I'm either down to 10% or I've had to charge the phone throughout the day. My typical day includes music streaming over Bluetooth for most of the day as I drive a delivery truck, a little bit of Twitter during downtime, between 10 and 40 minutes of YouTube watched over WiFi, and a little bit of email and texting. I've looked at my battery life (screenshots included) and they don't come close to how much battery I've lost. I just confused on what has caused this drastic change. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I just went to an event with my friend, then when i tried to make a call, the people that i called couldn't hear me at all, and the video that i recorded got no sound. I test it on a voice message and there's no sound at all. In the morning i plugged my phone to my car audio jack and there's no sound coming through the jack, but I don't think there is something to do with the mic.

OnePlus 5’s “Jelly” Scrolling Behavior It has not been long since users received their brand new OnePlus 5 smartphones, but already many users were beginning to notice a peculiar screen effect when scrolling their screens. Dubbed by the community as the “jelly”-like scrolling effect, this effect causes the text on display to bunch up together and then stretch out when the user is swiping in the opposite direction. It’s a bit difficult to explain through text, but a widely-circulating video from The Verge’s Dan Seifert clearly demonstrates this behavior. One plus response caught lying Community members looking into the issue came up with two theories to explain what may be causing the behavior: VSYNC toggling or the display panel’s orientation. The former is a software issue while the latter is hardware related. While the VSYNC toggling theory was quickly dismissed, the OnePlus community seemed to be fixated on the potential that the OnePlus 5’s display panel was oriented upside-down. This claim was made because users began to notice that if the screen is inverted on many other smartphones, those other smartphones may also experience this same jelly-like scrolling effect. The manufacturer didn’t seem to matter – so long as the phone’s screen is inverted, some users could reproduce the issue on their other smartphones. This code is for the display controller and it clearly defines that the panel is oriented 180 degrees. Thus, the display controller is instructed to compensate by 180 degrees. According to SultanXDA, this is his first time seeing this code in an actual device. The documentation for this line actually exists in the display controller of other devices, but most other devices do not have the line present. We verified this by examining the display controller source code on the OnePlus One, OnePlus X, OnePlus 2, OnePlus 3/3T, Google Nexus 5X, Google Nexus 6P, and a few other smartphones to satisfy our curiosity. Why Upside-Down? Obviously, OnePlus deliberately chose to invert the screen panel while manufacturing the OnePlus 5 (remember – it’s not a “defect”!). This is not something that occurs by accident. Although we are not privvy to their exact reasoning, we can offer some speculation.Take a look at what is placed at the top of the smartphone – the dual camera and some antennas. Like with any decision involving where to place components in a smartphone, it likely came down to space considerations. With limited space, the company had to decide where to place each component so everything would fit. Since the dual lens camera, which is new to the OnePlus line-up, takes up more space than a single lens camera it is possible the company moved the motherboard – and hence flipped the display panel – in order to accommodate the new camera module. TLDR one plus put the screen upside down, they hoped most people wouldn't notice the problem with the jelly effect, they got caught, so they made misleading PR statements. the lesson is do your research before buying somthing. snlԀǝuO - ǝlʇʇǝS ɹǝʌǝN source- https://www.xda-developers.com/confirmed-oneplus-5-display-upside-down-likely-reason-jelly-scrolling/

early an accusation of cheating "Earlier this year, we published a report that denounced OnePlus (and other companies) for their improper behavior in regards to benchmark manipulation on newer builds of OxygenOS. Today, we sadly must follow-up on our accusations as the company has once more been inappropriately manipulating benchmark scores in the OnePlus 5." getting caught redhanded "While no customers have a device in their hands (it just launched after all), we have learned about OnePlus’ new benchmark cheating mechanism through our review unit, which we received about ten days ago before the day the embargo breaks and reviewers are allowed to report on the device. Unfortunately, it is almost certain that every single review of the OnePlus 5 that contains a benchmark is using misleading results, as OnePlus provided reviewers a device that cheats on benchmarks." how is it done? "When entering certain benchmarking apps, the OnePlus 3T’s cores would stay above 0.98 GHz for the little cores and 1.29 GHz for the big cores, even when the CPU load dropped to 0%. This is quite strange, as normally both sets of cores drop down to 0.31 GHz on the OnePlus 3T when there is no load. Upon first seeing this we were worried that OnePlus’ CPU scaling was simply set a bit strangely, however upon further testing we came to the conclusion that OnePlus must be targeting specific applications. Our hypothesis was that OnePlus was targeting these benchmarks by name, and was entering an alternate CPU scaling mode to pump up their benchmark scores. One of our main concerns was that OnePlus was possibly setting looser thermal restrictions in this mode in order avoid the problems they had with the OnePlus One, OnePlus X, and OnePlus 2, where the phones were handling the additional cores coming online for the multi-core section of Geekbench poorly, and occasionally throttling down substantially as a result (to the point where the OnePlus X sometimes scored lower in the multi-core section than in the single core section). You can find heavy throttling in our OnePlus 2 review, where we found the device could shed off up to 50% of its Geekbench 3 multi-core score. Later, when we began comparing throttling and thermals across devices, the OnePlus 2 became a textbook example of what OEMs should avoid." why does it matter? they got caught cheating in the one plus 5 benchmark " The OnePlus 5, on the other hand, is an entirely different beast — it resorts to the kind of obvious, calculated cheating mechanisms we saw in flagships in the early days of Android, an approach that is clearly intended to maximize scores in the most misleading fashion. While there are no governor switches when a user enters a benchmark (at least, we can’t seem to see that’s the case), the minimum frequency of the little cluster jumps to the maximum frequency as seen under performance governors. All little cores are affected and kept at 1.9GHz, and it is through this cheat that OnePlus achieves some of the highest GeekBench 4 scores of a Snapdragon 835 to date – and likely the highest attainable given its no-compromise configuration with its specific configuration. Scores certainly higher than those obtained by similar devices and Qualcomm’s own MSM8998 test device which we were lucky enough to benchmark. Below is a list of benchmark applications affected: AnTuTu (com.antutu.benchmark.full) Androbench (com.andromeda.androbench2) Geekbench 4 (com.primatelabs.geekbench) GFXBench (com.glbenchmark.glbenchmark27) Quadrant (com.aurorasoftworks.quadrant.ui.standard) Nenamark 2 (se.nena.nenamark2) Vellamo (com.quicinc.vellamo) " what did we learn? Fool me Once, Shame on Me; Fool me Twice, Shame on You "It is a bit upsetting that it has gotten to the point where we have to call out the same company twice for manipulating benchmark scores. The fact that all of this was done on review units as well further exacerbates the issue: this cheating mechanism is aimed at maximizing performance and making the device look better or faster in performance sections of reviews. The targeting and manipulation system was packaged in pre-production units sent to journalists who will base their findings on their device from OnePlus, many of them unable or unwilling to verify the existence of cheating in their review unit. It is by no means their fault, but XDA is on the lookout for benchmark manipulation only because we found it in the past, and we thought it was best to inform our readers and potential phone buyers. We hope this article might rekindle a broader conversation about benchmarks, their role, and their utility in today’s smartphone reviews. Make no mistake, companies like Qualcomm and Samsung do care about benchmarks, and they do consider them a valid, if incomplete, way for customers to judge the performance of their devices even though they have more sophisticated tools to refer to when developing their processors. Ultimately, benchmarks can be of great importance if one understands what the software is measuring, and to which extent its results can be used to deduce the ranking of a particular processor, a particular configuration of hardware, or in more holistic terms, a specific phone with the changes in behavior its software introduces as well. I think that we have come to a time where it is more important to focus on real-world performance and power efficiency than in raw computing or processing prowess, because it is obviously clear at this point that the bottleneck to real-world performance comes from Android and particular implementations of it by OEMs." source -https://www.xda-developers.com/benchmark-cheating-strikes-back-how-oneplus-and-others-got-caught-red-handed-and-what-theyve-done-about-it/ -https://www.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5-benchmark-cheating-reviews/ TLDR- one plus has a history of getting caught cheating on benchmarks, they are still doing it with the one plus 5. one plus 5

So about 4 years ago I bought the iPhone 6s 128gb. I still use it every day and I like it really much. However, now it has reached the moment where it would need some repairs. But if I would repair all things that would require some fixing, I might as well look for an entirely new phone. This is where I'm a bit indecisive... Before I got the iPhone, I had owned a Samsung Galaxy S4, an HTC One, and an HTC Wildfire. Although they were good phones at the start, after about a year or so they would feel like they needed to be replaced. They all had several issues and altogether after I had gotten the iPhone, I really did notice a that I had gotten a bad taste from android. Even now whilst my iPhone needs to be fixed it feels better than any of the android devices I had before... Because I had this great experience with my current iPhone 6s, I would like to just pick up the newest Phone XS (or XR) (although I don't like the idea of that big of a notch) and hope to get a similar result where I can enjoy the phone for at least another 2-4 years. But looking at all this new tech coming out with OLED screens, display fingerprint scanners, Edge to edge screens, etc, etc.. in the Android world, I really find it hard to justify the costs of the new iPhones. Like they have reached a point where they're ridiculously overpriced in my opinion... I was then thinking about getting an iPhone 8 or 8 Plus (though it's still pricy IMO), but especially in the 8's case, I feel like it's not enough of an upgrade from my current phone to justify it, as well as multiple people close to me telling me mixed feelings on the 8's performance. The 8 Plus does at least have a bigger 1080p screen, which is nice. Now I hope you guys can help me with this small dilemma of mine by sharing your thoughts. What phones are you using? iOS or androids? Pros or Cons? My heart feeling of iOS is really fighting the logic price of android. Current phones on my mind: iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone XR/XS/MAX One plus 7 / Pro Samsung S10 / S10+ Samsung Note 9 Everything has cons and pros to me so far, so I would really like to hear your guys' thoughts.

I have the OnePlus 7Pro 5g on a Sprint plan in the US. A week ago I noticed my phone having issues using mobile data. Speedtest.net readings always fell between .01-.2 and sometimes up to 5mbps if I am lucky. Sprint did a speed test for me from their end and it read about 5 as well. No matter the settings adjusted or the phone being reset, nothing seemed to fix the connection issues. Employees both at the repair center and the store clerks couldn't fix the problem. I had the phone replaced with another model assuming the issue was with the network antenna inside the phone. However, the new phone is showing the same exact readings. It's still having mobile data issues. Note: The phone shows full bars LTE and even 5G when in the city. Any thoughts? Thanks

Hi! I currently have a very crappy no-name android smart phone, that does not function well (e.g. touchscreen will try to guess what I want by doing things before I press it). Thus I am looking for a new phone, luckily for me I have +/- an unlimited budget. The only real things I care about are: speed, aesthetics, good screen. The phones that I currently have been looking at are the Samsung galaxy s7 and the oneplus three. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance, AIO

Right now I have a GS4 which is nearing the end of its life and I'm growing pretty damn sick of touchwiz. I also can't rejuvenate it by flashing a custom rom thanks to AT&T and it's locked bootloaders. I need an unlocked phone and the One Plus One is by far the best phone I've seen that can be had unlocked without breaking the bank. I reeaally like the One Plus One but it's almost a year old and with the One Plus Two coming out in the next few months, I'm wondering if it's worth it to wait and hope the OPT is a great flagship at a competitive price.

And yes they will sell the One plus one and accessories, but don't get your hopes up they may not expand to anywhere outside China for a long time. This morning I woke up to check my iPhone and see that I had an email from Oneplus. I must admit I got a little excited because I am using an iPhone which I don't like (my opinion). I then booted my pc, went on gmail to read the email I then read "To use this invite, please follow this link to claim it as yours (you have less than 24h to do so)". I just thought who the hell can make a decision on shelling out $350 for a phone in 24hrs Well... I certainly can't. Is it just me that thinks their company is a complete fucking joke? Thanks, Gwj99

Source: One Plus - https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/week-40-and-so-it-begins-the-oneplus-pre-order-system.117715/ One Plus have announce that they will be introducing a preorder system for their smartphones. Although, they've specified that the invitation system "will exist and serve different purposes.". The only downside with the preorder system is that you wont be sent a One Plus One in stock. It'll be sent "as soon as stock becomes available". A time scale of when that could be wasn't given, and it most likely wont when a customer preorders. One Plus have said that the new pre-order system will be the easiest way to get an OPO but it looks like they are still standing by their invitation system. Personally, after having 2 invites, but not being able to afford to get one at the time of receiving the invite, the pre-order system seems like it'll resolve that problem. It seems like it'll also benefit OPO a great deal, we'll definitely be seeing a lot more of the OPO I think.

"in fact, those of you with invites will start seeing them in your inbox on June 6th" - David S. of One Plus shipping will be 3-5 days (ups ground looks like is fastest) http://forums.oneplus.net/threads/behind-the-scenes-invites-are-coming.21563/ early supporters get invites first. One plus describes early supporter as "What's an early supporter? Previously, we would include activity and other metrics in the mix in determining this. This time, it's all about registration date. Going by registration date means that there will be a lot of people whose accounts aren't active, which is why the early supporter invites in July will last 24 hours. As they expire, the next people in line will get them." http://forums.oneplus.net/threads/july-plan-for-early-supporters.43151/ also. linus if you plan on reading this and trying to say my name... I will laugh so hard at the fails. easier to say KC and I won't be able to pronounce the remainder of your name so screw it also linus if I get more invites I will offer them to you as I won a contest for early invite (if you are interested)
