its a dell optiplex 7020 with an i3 4th gen i dont know what.... it says that date and time not set every time i boot it

I was in the process of building a PC with an MSI MEG Z490 ACE ATX and after I assembled the PC it would not start. When the PSU (Gigabyte P750GM) is switched on, the start and reset button lights on the mainboard light up. When you turn on the PC, you hear a click in the PSU and nothing happens. Even if nothing is connected, the same thing happens. Without a CPU, GPU, boot drive, etc., the mainboard should at least return an error message, right? The PSU works and I've already tried it with another one. There is also no voltage at the test points on the mainboard. I've also sent the motherboard back twice thinking it was broken. I've also tried flashing a new BIOS and clearing CMOS. My final question is: The mainboard itself should do something when it is switched on, even if no CPU, GPU, boot drive, etc is installed? And how do I achieve that? Thank you for your help.

Hi guys, My brother is having a no-start issue with his Thinkpad X1 Carbon laptop. When I pressed the power button the screen did not turn on, but the LEDs and fans did. It also gave me a bios beep code that I read with the diagnostic app. But when it tried to look it up, I couldn't find anything at all about it on google or Lenovo's tech support site. I even tried calling their customer support number to see if they knew the code, but all they told me was to try removing and reinserting the battery... again. The bios beep code was: 010288 Does anyone know what this code means? And if so, is there anything that I can still do to fix it; or at least how I can recover the data from the computer? Hello, I am having trouble with starting upy new pc. I bought it yesterday and I tried all day to make it work. Well here is the issue: Everything turns on, like the fans of my cpu, gpu, front case fan and power supply. Well after that nothing happens other than it shuts down after a couple of seconds and boots up again but no screen or even a warning sound from the warning speaker, everything gets power and lights up. I hope someone can help me with my issue.

Hey Guys, i just installed my new aio cooler on my cpu and in the same process i installed a different PSU as mine seemed to cause some Problems. I put everything in, checked if everything is plugged, in and tried to start the pc. But as i pressed the button nothing happend. So i followed those steps But i still did no Progress so I undid my pc and put up a test bench with just the mainboard, a stock cooler on the cpu, one Ram stick(, the GPU) and the power supply(I tried both of them), still no success. So I'm sitting here asking myself how i screwed up installing a damn aio or if i just may have overlooked something. Hello, I helped my friend building his first pc. We thought everything worked fine until we started booting it up for the first time. Then it beeps 5 times and won't display anything. not even the Bios screen or anything like that. Things we tried to fix it: 1. unplug everything except CPU, CPU-Fan, Motherboard, Powersupply 2. Only one RAM stick and changed between the two he has 3. Put it out of the case on cardboard and tried it then 4. We returned the Motherboard because I thought it could be broken. The new Motherboard didn't work 5. Altough it was very unlikely we also returned the CPU because it was still not working So I tried everything I could think of. The manual says "5 times beep = CPU Error" but that can't be it. also the beeps are "long" beeps if that helps! HiI have assembled my new pc and it won't boot. It gives 5 short beeps on startup. I know this means a CPU error. All fans are spinning.So I already did the following:- Check for broken/bent pins- Check if the CPU is installed correctly (trianlge is facing the correct way)- Try to boot with only 1 piece of RAM in both slots- reset CMOS- Boot with motherboard outside case- Check cables- Tried a different power supplyI also have returned the motherboard, cpu and ram to vendor. The vendor check motherboard, RAM and CPU and it was working correctly, notthing was broken. please help!I just got a new motherboard to replace my really old one that wasn't putting out audio.I install the new motherboard and when I start it up when it says windows starting it freezes then restarts it self. then a screen comes up that says start Windows normally, or launch startup repair.when I click start Windows normally it does the same exact thing again when I click launch startup repair it can't find the problem. I talked to several people and they didn't know what was happening. here are my system specs. ive got a problem with a laptop of my parants, ive never had this problem before so i dont know what to do, the laptop has a no post problem when you start it up nothing comes up on the screen the lights all light up like the power and that but no post if there is someone out there who can help that would be great thanks...

Hey there I've recently upgraded my friends rig with some new parts. But when i tried to boot up with his old hard drive, we couldn't get into windows. The repair tool ran but it didn't help. UPDATE: So apparently my replacement mobo was just completely defective. I got another replacement and my system is working perfectly. Ig just really bad luck with that first replacement board. ORIGINAL POST: So I recently built myself a new PC and it was working fine for a month, but last week I was in the middle of gaming (nothing that's usually straining, just overwatch which is relatively light on cpu and gpu) and suddenly my screen just turned black. The fans and LEDs in my case were still powered, but no signal was going to my monitor and my motherboard LED panel was giving me an error code of 00 which I looked up and means the CPU or MOBO is faulty. I felt my top radiator and it was significantly warmer than usual but I have corsair iCUE setup to turn all my fans red and alert me once my CPU gets over 80 C and shut down automatically if it hits 90. I have a Ryzen 5900X which I read somewhere that this cpu runs hot and is rated safe up to 95 degrees C. I know that's hot af, but first of all it shouldn't have been that hot, and even if it was, my PC should've just shut down normally before any damage was done. Afterwards I tried booting up but I couldn't even get the system to POST. Still getting the mobo led code 00. Since then I have replaced the motherboard with a new one (same model) and tried using a different PSU to see if my old one gave out, but now I'm having an even worse issue. After filling up my custom loop and plugging in all psu connections, I try to turn on the system but now it's completely unresponsive. At least before it would power on and just no POST, but now I have nothing which makes trouble shooting even more difficult. When using a jumper cable to fill up the system all fans spin properly and most LEDs come on, but the LEDs on the side fans don't have the LEDs light up even though they're all connected to the same corsair lighting node core as the top fans which do light up. Also I just noticed that the RAM LEDs don't light up at all when they used to. I also observed that the board is at least getting some power since when the psu is turned on and the psu is connected to the mobo, the power button on the bottom of the board is lit up, but pressing it still gives no response. Like I said I've already replaced the mobo and tried a new psu and still nothing has changed with getting a response from the system. I can't even use the mobo piezo speaker since nothing even gets powered on. I don't understand what's wrong. Replacing the mobo made things worse and I already returned that one. My only last guess is replacing the CPU and maybe I accidentally damaged the mobo with ESD. I'd appreciate any advice or ideas you all may have to what may be the problem with my system and what step I should take. I've attached my parts list at the bottom with pictures of my new leak test where the jumper cable is in the new unresponsive system with the conditions described above, and the second photo is the system fully plugged in not able to power on at all.
