Feedback on PC Build for Gaming and Development
CORS error posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
I am planning on building a PC. Although I dont have enough knowledge about hardware, I was able make a list of components which fits my budget by scraping internet. Location : India Budget : 2000 USD / 160000 INR Aim : I will be using this system for Software development and Gaming. Max Load: I will be running multiple VMs and heavy softwares like androidStudio for my work and train Neural Networks, ML models which needs GPU. Also I preffer Gaming in 1440p and 60FPS without any frame drop. Monitors : I will start with single monitor. But I do have plans to expand number of monitors in future. Peripherals : I will be needing Windows Os. I have keyboard and mouse at home. upgrade Reason : I currently use Asus TUF Core i7 8th gen Laptop and I want to shift to Desktop where I can get conciderably large customization options and increase in performance. Here goes the list. CPU : Intel Core i7-12700K Desktop Processor 12 (8P+4E) Cores up to 5.0 GHz Unlocked LGA 1700 600 Series Chipset 125W Motherboard : GIGABYTE Z690 AORUS Elite AX DDR4 (LGA 1700/ Intel Z690/ ATX/ DDR4/ Quad M.2/ PCIe 5.0/ USB 3.2 Gen2X2 Type-C/WiFi 6/2.5GbE LAN/Gaming Motherboard) Graphics Card : ASUS Dual Nvidia Geforce Rtx 3060 Ti Oc Edition Graphics Card RAM : Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-3200 MHz CL16 Storage : Samsung 980 PRO 1TB Up to 7,000 MB/s PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 (2280) Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) (MZ-V8P1T0) PSU : Corsair RM750i 750W 80+ Gold Fully Modular CPU Cooler : Noctua NH-D15 CPU Air Cooler with 6 heatpipe Dual Tower Design 140 mm Fan with PWM Intel LGA2066, LGA2011-0 & LGA2011-3, 1200, 1156, 1155, 1151, 1150 I AMD AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+, FM1, FM2, FM2+ PC Case : Corsair Tempered Glass, Alloy Steel 4000D Airflow Tempered Glass Mid-Tower ATX Case, Black (CC-9011200-WW) Monitor : LG QHD IPS Ultragear Gaming Monitor 27GN800 (27 Inches, 2560 x 1440, 144Hz, HDR 10, sRGB 99%) My Queries: Am I overspending and underspending on some components? I am living in southern part of India and temrature here gets as high as 39.8°C (108.2°F) in summers. Is cooling sufficient for this climate? Are there any potential bottlenecks or compatibility issues I might be overlooking with this setup? Also I am planning on assembling components by my self, so please add if something missing in my cart and suggest me reliable guid/manuals/refence on how to build pc . -

Hello all, I currently looking to make a supermarket or cash and carry in Pakistan. I just wanted to know what sort of a computer would be good enough for a cash counter. what it will do is scan items, and make bills. I will have around 4-5 stations. and a server to have items listed so cash counters can get necessary info from it. I know that this is a forum for like enthusiasts but i thought it doesn't hurt to ask. Thank you all very much

Is it possible to add a sticky to New Builds and Planning like some of the other forums have, which would detail how to use PCPartPicker? I've seen so many posts where the user posts a screen cap of their build there, instead of posting the list directly, presumably because they don't know it's as simple as just dropping the link. It makes it really difficult to help people without starting every discussion off with a request to post the actual parts list.

Hey, So I am in a dilemma with regards to a CPU purchase. Since GPU prices have escaped reality I was hunting some APU's so that I can at least play DOTA 2 or league of legends to pass time until GPU became reality again. I was initially inclined towards I-5 11400 (yeah Intel !) because I needed at least six cores for my simulation work and it has UHD 730 while AMD's offering only had 4c/8t options in the APU section. BUT, I came in contact with a seller who wanted to sell Ryzen 4650G (6c/12t) at MSRP with warranty. (Mouthwatering deal!) So before ordering I researched and found that this processor was OEM only! Now, the question! Is 4650G compatible with consumer boards like B 450 and A 320 ? Or will there be a lot of BIOS or Drivers issue? Also Is it safe to buy OEM only processors with regards to warranty claiming procedure?

So I am building an computer, some new and some parts from work https://pcpartpicker.com/list/yKBjsL,here's the question? I would like as many fans as shown (1 rear, 2side and the included 2 front fans: with 3 Noctua NF-S12B redux-1200) But will my H470-i gaming be able to support 3 extra fans and the 2 included in the front or do I have to buy a fan hub?

Budget (including currency): My budget is around 15 000SEK or around ~1400USD I'm not really looking to go much above this price but if it's worth it I'm happy to! =) Country: I'm based in the Sweden Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Other details Right now I´m on my 5 year old computer and as it happens I have started at a small company that has an i9-9900K laying in a box so I thought might as well, and can get parts through the company so it becomes a bit cheaper here in Sweden. Aim The aim for this PC is an all gaming computer, that for a turn can run AAA games Monitors ATM I have 2 monitors: MSI Optix G27CQ4 27.0" 2560x1440 165 Hz Curved Monitor Asus VG248QG 24.0" 1920x1080 60 Hz Monitor Upgrade Here are my thoughts but as this is a puzzle making computer to make everything coordinate and get no bottleneck, Thinking of waiting for the black Friday(to see what's up) and see if the 4000 series is worth looking in to (might not with the i9-9900K as for bottlenecking), but better to be prepared then not XD https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4GmJBj CPU Intel Core i9-9900K 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor (Can't change) CPU Cooler Noctua NH-D15 82.5 CFM CPU Cooler Motherboard Gigabyte Z390 AORUS MASTER ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (There is not many with the i9-9900K socket, and this can be bought from china and shipped to Sweden) Memory Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory Storage Kingston KC3000 1.024 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive Video Card Palit GeForce RTX 3080 Ti 12 GB GameRock Video Card Case NZXT H7 Flow ATX Mid Tower Case Power Supply Corsair HX1000 Platinum 1000 W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply Computer is listed to be around ~2100 dollars, but for me having the PSU and CPU would land at a whooping ~1400 ~But would really apricate some feedback from you guys as this is a "puzzle"

Budget: None right now since I plan on saving. Country: USA Purpose/What do I wanna do with this build Gaming: Besides Minecraft and Roblox other games vary from fighting games like Vampire Savior, Street Fighter, to Horror games, Indie, First person shooters, Rhythm games like Osu, Sound Voltex etc. Streaming. Digital Art: (I'll mainly be doing that on my Laptop but I'm thinking about using my Laptop for doing art on the go and using my Dream Pc for doing Digital art when I'm at home.) Necessities Plenty of Storage Good Cable Management Water Cooling Stays cool (Look wise and managing heat wise) Wants for the Look/Theme Lots of RGB Lots of Pink and White Water cooling Good Cable Management This is everything I've looked into for the build, I've looked into researched and changed things up and this is my finalized product. (But I'm open to take suggestions in order to change it!) Editors note: The only problems I've had with the list is pc part picker saying. Potential Issues / Incompatibilities Warning: The MSI MEG X570 GODLIKE EATX AM4 Motherboard supports the AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 3.4 GHz 16-Core Processor with BIOS version 7C34v1B. If the motherboard is using an older BIOS version, upgrading the BIOS will be necessary to support the CPU. Note: The video card PCIe 12-pin power connector adapter is being supplied by two 6+2-pin power connectors. Please ensure that the 6+2-pin power connectors are not daisy-chained and do not share the same power cable. Disclaimer: Some physical dimension constraints are currently not checked, such as CPU coolers and RAM clearance. But idk how to check or fix any of these issues so that's why I added this stuff at the end. Another Editors note: I for got to link my build but here it is! https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Lunacoremelody/saved/#view=hc8dbv

Hello, I am planning on building my gaming pc soon and would like some advice on which parts to use. My budget is 1.5 lakh (inr) 1800 usd. These are the parts, that I am currently thinking of using. Any thing that I need to change. Pc will be only used for gaming and normal use. I am confused between using a pc monitor or a 4k gaming tv with 120hz refresh rate as I will be playing mostly story based games.

I am building my first pc and am looking for some advice on what components I should pick. Budget- prefer $800-950, could stretch to $1000 Location- US Use- Mostly Gaming (SOTR, COD MW, Forza Horizon 4, Anno 1800) and some light productivity Peripherals- 1 1440p 120 Hz monitor, prefer gaming at higher res, lower fps Research so Far- Ryzen 5 3600 and an EVGA RTX 2060 KO but i am concerned if this graphics card would run pretty loud and would appreciate anyone relating their experience with this card. Open to suggestions on all components, with my preference on getting a not very fancy case without a glass side panel.

My PC has been running pretty laggy recently. Now that I have some money I´m going to upgrade the motherboard and the RAM. The problem is that my PC system is based on x64 BUT the directory of the system is C:\WINDOWS\system32. Also you can check my future computer specs here if you think there´s going to be some compatibility problems: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4440 CPU @ 3.10GHz, 3101 Mhz, 4 principal processors, 4 logic processors Tacens Mars Gaming Vulcano 750W 80 Plus Silver NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 Asus ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING AMD AM4 B450 ATX G.Skill Aegis 16 gb 30000Mhz All help is well received.

Hi I am new here and i don't know the proper way to format my post so please be patient with me and ask me any questions. ? So I have been sitting down trying to put this PC together for black friday sales and just holiday sales in general, but I am hitting a wall. I am trying to understand if my PC is going to bottleneck at all and whether I am over-killing it at the moment or not. To give you a bit of background I plan on using this to play games such as: Rainbow 6, Monster Hunter, Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3, and NieR: Atomata. I also plan on using this system for solidworks/AutoCad from time to time and just Programming (Java, Python, C++). My budget sits at $2100-2200 USD. I have heard that CAD can run hot sometimes on some cpu's so I have been curious if there is a need to upgrade my cpu fan and if so what would be the recommended? As the title suggest which PC parts can be bought used and can perform well for a long time (maybe 1~1.5 years). What consideration should I focus on so that the PC can run and perform well for my workload. (To clarify I don't have a PC but I'm considering to build one asap)

Hi! Ever since I built my first rig about 5 years ago, I've been having a blast with all that I can do, and how far it could get me. And ever since VR hit the market, I've been slowly getting ready to start my slow campaign of a new and more proficient build. Current PC Right now, My current build has a 1tb hard drive, a Nvidia 660 graphics card, 16gbs of DDR3 ~1800 ghz of ram and a couple other things, and an AMD processor with air cooling. I actually do a lot on this pc, I run 3 monitors, my art based programs, some music and sound editing, as well as gaming. To be honest, a big chunk of my build is actually second hand stuff. The graphics, mother board and processor was all part of someone elses build before I took them myself. As a first time buyer, I screwed up, and ended up missing a back plate for the mother board, and paid pretty much the same as new price for all the parts with the expectation that I would at least be taught how to put it together. I ended up doing it all myself unfortunately and the best i was offered was a static shock bracelet to prevent any unwanted zaps while I built it. Buyer's remorse was my motivator to start trying to research and figure out what is the best fit for me. I've actually been watching Linus tech tips for a long time trying to learn the ins and outs of how a computer works. And after all of that, I'm still lost as to what I should be looking for. Planned Use My primary use of this computer is to turn it into a gaming rig and turn my previous computer into a streaming PC to decrease the load on my computer. I would however be expanding my uses, to editing, digital media, as well as hobby stuff. I know I was told a workbench was something that could handle anything and everything I want it too, but I feel, I'm not professional, though I have access to some professional programming, I'm still in the process of learning the tools of trade, like animation. It would take me some time, but all of this is in a hobby level, nothing professional, at least, I don't know if I can make it so. Searching As for what I can say on my own, and what I want minimum in my build, I am aiming to right now start off with a motherboard and processor before anything else. I do have some requirements: There is at least one m.2 slot on the mother board for me to install an SSD on it for my OS I would like the max ram for it to take be either 32gb or 64gb. I would like to start off with two 16gb ram cards which I'm hunting for on Black Friday I want to make sure the Board had ddr4 support on it The possibility to have two graphic cards installed, but to be honest, I'll probably be only using one Conclusion At the end of the day, my plan for this entire build is to do something under a grand where I have a skeleton of a functioning PC that does all the basics. I would like a fast processor with hyperthreading, which would be awesome, cause I learned about it from Linus and I want to see it in action really. I'm looking for a good motherboard for where I can say in the future, instead of building a completely new computer, I can just do things along the lines of swapping out a processor or ram for better performance. Stuff that I can say, I have 32gb now, next year I'll upgrade it to 64gb or something along those lines. I hope I wasn't too detailed or demanding too much here. I just know that after looking at a lot, and talking to sales people, I tend to run into the problem of the best and meet my needs use. I don't want to have to go through and buy a whole new motherboard and processor just because I came up short. This is the first time I'm building on my own so I would love some advice on how I should even approach what I would need. Thanks for taking the time for reading all of this, I know it's a lot, but I read the pinned thread to include all of this info.
