Hello everyone, I once again need the help for all the professionals here at LTT, hoping to find a solution to the following problem. Also, I hope this is the right forum to post this in. I ordered a new workstation for my workplace, because I wanted an upgrade to a 6 display setup. Our IT provider made an offer for a setup that included two Asus Dual GeForce RTX 3050 OC (8GB DDR6) in the system. I told them that the graphics card is way too pricey for what I need (office work, a lot of productivity tools, excel sheets and some occasional graphic design/photo editing), therefor I asked them to downgrade it to two "cheaper" graphics cards that still would support 6 displays with Full HD resolution at 60 Hz. Apparently they did not want to do that and said, this is the "cheapest" solution they could offer for the system. So, after some research online, I decided to get just one card and a Display-Port MST adapter, thinking that I can use 3 out of 4 ports on the card for direct monitor connection and to split the last DisplayPort on the card with the adapter into again 3 separate monitors. Yesterday I configured the entire system, windows recognized the 6 displays but will only connect to 4 of them. In the display settings of Windows 11 displays 5 and 6 are set to "Disconnect this display" - if I choose to extend to it, Windows randomly disconnects any other remaining display. After that I tried to connect the displays to the onboard graphics card (after enabling the iGPU in BIOS to "always on"), which also has 1 HDMI and 1 DisplayPort - first I connected only one of the two remaining monitors and it worked - all 5 showed up. After rebooting with the last monitor connected, something odd happened. The two remaining displays were mirrored and had a maximum resolution of 1280x720, the option to set it higher was greyed out. Then I tried to update the GPU driver and setting up the multiple displays in NVIDIA Control Panel - here I ran into the same issue as in Windows display settings - 6 Monitors were shown, but when I checked the 5th it displayed the message "this GPU support up to 4 displays" - I kind of get that, since it has only 4 ports, but isn't that exactly what the MST adapter is for? To split the signal running through a single port? I mean, if I connect the MST-Adapter to my laptop, which also has only one port, it still can use all 3 displays and the laptop screen. It is strange that a card like the RTX 3050 can't... Do you see possibility to make this setup work without buying an additional graphics card? I already talked to IT again, asking for the cheapest card they have on stock that would support 2 displays and would still be compatible to the current mainboard- they offered the MSI GT 1030 (GF GT 1030, 2GB DDR4, PCI 3.0 x4 Low-Profile) but I did not order it yet because I wanted to first check here if there would be any solution with the current setup. Here are all the details of the workstation: Displays: 6x DELL P2422H (4 on DisplayPort, 2 on HDMI) MST Adapter I bought via Amazon: Cable Matters Triple 4K DisplayPort Splitter (Mini DisplayPort Hub ) with 2X 8K DisplayPort 1.4 and 1x 4K HDMI for Windows, NOT Compatible with macOS (Link for further description of the product) 1 x power supply ATX 2.4 SEASONIC Focus GX, 750 Watt, 80 Plus Gold 1 x mainboard ASUS Prime Z690-P D4-CSM, LGA1700, ATX 1 x processor INTEL Core i5-13600K, LGA1700, 14 cores 1 x RAM CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16 GB Kit (2x 8GB), DDR4 3200MHz 1 x graphics card ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 3050 OC, 8GB GDDR6 1 x SAMSUNG 980 Pro Solid-State-Module, 500GB, M.2, NVM Express, PCIe 4.0 1 x HDD 3,5" SATA 6Gb/s WD Red Plus, 1TB, 64MB Cache Thank you very much in advance for any help and response. Kind regards, Richard

Hi, i pre ordered the 16 inch Framework laptop with the Graphicmodul. Currently i use my gaming pc at home with 3 Monitors ( 1x 1440p 165hz, 2x 1080p 60hz). so here is the question is it possible to use only one compatible Dockingstation to game on the old Setup or is there some significant Performance drop. I search some on the internet and haven‘t found anything usefull on this topic. i have a dockingstation in mind that i want to use, the Dell WD22TB4. so please does anyone out there have worked with this kind of setup?

Hi Team I am waiting for my new GPU to arrive and in the mean time I'd like to use both video ports from my iGPU for dual monitor, by default it will only work with one port. In BIOS it IGD multi monitor is already enabled, but this is just for iGPU use with a GPU as well I believe. How else I can get 2 monitors working on just the iGPU? CPU: i7 13700k Mobo: MSI MAG Tomohawk Wifi DDR5

Hello I have my own company and we have like a "command center" video wall. The wall is 3 by 2 (so 3 horizontally and 2 vertically). Currently we are using 2 seperate pc's to drive 4 displays and 2 displays. Now I am looking for a solution where I can run everything from a single pc as we want to be able to combine the displays as one big screen. Use cases: During normal days: each screen has its own seperate information (dashboard, ...) During a customer visit or ...: All six screens as one big screen. I know from the Linus Tech Tips channel that SLI is going away. So I am looking for a solution that we last at least a couple of years. Total PC build budget would be around €2000 (pc + graphics). But the cheaper the better ofcourse Thanks in advance.

I have a laptop that only has 1 HDMI out, and no DP out. I would like to connect my 1080p 144hz monitor and my 1080p 60hz TV to it. Don't need to use both at once, but it would be a plus. Is it possible? And what should I do in order to achieve it? Note: My laptop has an USB-C port, but it seems not to support display output. I've bought an adapter just to realise that.

Hello and thanks for your help in advance, I recently got myself a 2nd (3rd) monitor. Eversince my PC keeps crashing after some game time. Weird enough it doesn't happen every time. Sometimes I can play Apex Legends or Final Fantasy XIV all day, another day it takes a few hours and I can forget about playing completely. Turning my second monitor off, doesn't seem to make a difference. Since it's been happening for 2 weeks now (in total 3 days of crashes), I feel like investigating further. First monitor is 3840x1080 (120Hz), second monitor 2560x1440(165HZ). Both are connected to an RTX 2080TI via DP. One of the three fans on my GPU has me concerned, cause it's a little lose but other than that it is spinning just fine. I have no idea what I should be looking for. I've tried looking at temperatures, but I can't spot anything extraordinary. GPU remains around 80°C under load, while its memory goes up to 95°C, CPU (i7 9700K) levels around 70-80°C as well. PSU is 700W. I'm thankful for any assistance.

gpu Video output on a GPU while 2D and 3D render on the other
FreqEvans posted a topic in Graphics Cards
Hi, I'm Ivan. I have a GTX 1050Ti and a GT 710. It is possible to video output a program such as Zoom on the GT 710 while using the "power" of the GTX 1050Ti? In few words: Zoom on secondary display connected to the GT710 but "running" on GTX 1050Ti (where is connected the primary monitor) Thanks to all people that will respond- 2 replies

Hello everyone, I'm Ivan. I'm the head technician in a small church. First of all, this is my setup: CPU: Intel i5-4460 3.2GHz RAM: 12GB DDR3 1600MHz MoBo: Lenovo H50-50 GPU 1: Zotac Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050Ti Mini 4GB [1x HDMI, 1x DVI-D, 1x DisplayPort] GPU 2: Zotac Nvidia GeForce GT 710 1GB (x1 PCI-E) [1x HDMI, 1x DVI-D, 1x VGA] Displays connected to GPU 1: - DisplayPort to splitted VGA cable for main 19" monitor and duplicated stage monitor - HDMI cable (30 meters) for two TVs (audience) - DVI not used Displays connected to GPU 2: - VGA for old 4:3 monitor - HDMI to VGA for old 4:3 monitor - DVI not used So, every time I tried to connect the stage monitor for musicians directly into one of the DVI port available I'm having some troubles, as disconnections of other display and so on. What should I do? Any advice? I have a GTX 650Ti but on the Lenovo H50-50 I only have one PCI-E x16 slot.. that's sucks. Thanks!

Half baked knowledge and questions are as follows: -DP 2.0 and HDMI 2.1 can support upto 8K 60Hz? So we can spilt signal from DP2.0 to multi 1440p or 1080p ? -If for instance a GPU has 1 DP 1.4 and 3 HDMI 2.1 and it can support 7680x4320 resolution then can we spilt it to 4 X 1080p only via DP 1.4 splitter hub? Then remaining 3 HDMI ports would be useless ? -What is benefit of using each port of GPU over splitting single DP or HDMI? -8K 60Hz = 4K 120Hz = 2x 2K 240Hz = 4x 1080p ?Hz - - - I don't know what I am talking about now. -Multi-monitor setup requires powerful CPU. 5600X won't be able to support 6 or 8 monitor? -What else should I know regarding multi-monitor setup. Please HELP.

Hi everyone, This is my first post on these forums (Actually just made an account for this), so if I screw something up on the post please let me know! I have gotten to finally get ahold of a new 3090 graphics card, and I still have my old 1070. I have 2 monitors (Main is 2560 x 1440 at 144 hz, secondary is 1080p at 60 hz.) and I was wondering if it was possible to set them up such that I am using the 3090 to run the main monitor, and the 1070 to run the secondary monitor. Here is a link to what the current build will be: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Tylman/saved/xZYGP6 Unfortunately, I can't add the two different GPUs on here, but I can tell you that the 1070 is EVGA GTX 1070 8GB SC Gaming ACX 3.0 So, what do you guys think? Will I be able to use my two GPUs like this? Or do I need to get a better case for thermals, or is it just a fool's errand to begin with?

I just finished building a new rig. Specs below. CPU: 3900xt GPU: ROG Strix RTX 3090 OC MOBO:Asus Crosshair VIII Hero Wifi RAM:2x16 Gb Corsair Vengence LPX 3200 C16 PSU: Corsair AX850 Displays: 2x Asus PB278Q on DP and HDMI, and 1x Samsung Odyssey G9 on DP 1.4 OS: Windows 10 Pro (Idk what build, but I have auto updates enabled unless I'm installing drivers, more info below in my steps so far*) I'm having an issue where my computer freezes up after waking from sleep. The screens turn on as if they've detected a signal, and then they just go back to standby after flickering the input signal channel (HDMI, DisplayPort, etc) and then my system goes completely unresponsive. Ctrl+Alt+Del doesn't work, Win+Ctrl+Shift+B doesnt work, nothing. Need to reset with reset button or cycle PSU/unplug & replug from wall. It seems to be an issue with the Samsung G9 and NVidia drivers, since I've seen a bunch of people on the Nvidia forums talk about similar black screen issues with the G9 and 3000 series GPUs, but theirs aren't' multi-monitor so they don't see the same behavior as I do across all 3 screens. Any ideas how to fix or mitigate? Right now I've just set it up so that my computer never goes to sleep, but that doesn't seem like a good idea for the longevity of my parts. A separate but possibly related issue is that every time I try to set my G9 to 240hz on the OSD (with the nipple on the bottom of the monitor) it goes black and tries to recover but it ends up blacking out the other 2 monitors as well, and then the system becomes unresponsive just like it was trying to wake itself up. This is what I've tried so far: - updated Motherboard Bios to latest non-beta version - updated ASUS VBios to latest version - updated to latest drivers/firmware from Nvidia and Samsung for the Graphics card and monitor respectively. - unintalled aforementioned nvidia driver with DDU in safe mode to install a hotfix driver 456.98 that sorta works but only with just the G9, once the other monitors get plugged in, all 3 go black and flicker like before. *when I uninstall or reinstall drivers I turn my home network into a metered connection (I'm on wifi) and turn off windows update's ability to download stuff over metered connections. to prevent it from trying to insert a windows driver while I'm reinstalling graphics drivers. - reinstalled newest nvidia driver - Added TDRLevel and TDRDelay entries in registry, no effect. - swapped DP Cables for Amazon DP 1.4 cables where applicable, issue remained, so I went back to the stock cable that came with G9. Asus Monitors on random HDMI-HDMI and DP-HDMI (because it flickers at 60hz due to weird DSC Issues) cables that worked from previous rig. So Asus monitors are both receiving into HDMI inputs, not sure if that matters. - Swapped GPU For a Zotac trinity 3090 - reinstalled windows - swapped ram for another Corsair LPX kit - reset Bios to optimized defaults from a minor OC I did. Issue persists through all of these attempts. So far, my guess is that it's something about the drivers or power delivery that isn't giving the GPU enough juice to kick in when the monitors all wake back up and it just freezes under the wright of the load it's trying to pull. Does anyone know what might be wrong? Do I have a bad panel? Still within return window for the G9 so I might try to swap it if that's the case. If it is an issue with the GPU driving 5120x1440 @ 240hz and 2 1440p 60hz, could I just get a mobo with graphics outputs and just hook up my ASUS monitors to those and keep the G9 on the 3090 dedicated GPU? Do Mobo Bios's still let you use both integrated and discrete graphics simultaneously?

Budget (including currency): fr the GPU <£300 Country: UK Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Photo editing and general use. No video editing or gaming! Other details These montiors (three of them) have already been purchased: LG UltraGear 27UL500-W 4K Ultra HD 27” IPS LCD Gaming Monitor Hi All, A friend of mine is very much into photography, and wants a new desktop to run three 4K monitors he has just purchased (see model above) The only inputs are DP and HDMI, I am ideally looking for a GPU recommendation that would work. Since the PC will not be used for gaming, and the refresh rate on then monitors is only 60hz (at 4K) do I really need a high end GPU just for photos and genreal usage? Shopping around I found the GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1050 Ti OC Low Profile 4GB Video Card, GV-N105TOC-4GL. This seems to have enough outputs and is quite cheap. Should I recommed this card or am I making a mistake? Hi, I'm looking for some advice regarding my cable management for my monitors. I have 4 screens mounted to a arm on my desk and all the cables going to the monitors looks a bit messy. Each monitor has a power, HDMI and DisplayPort cable going to it with one of the screens also having a VGA cable for my server. I use this setup for my gaming PC over DisplayPort and my laptop dock over HDMI. I know not all of my cables are quite long enough which doesn't really help matters but when I have squashed them all together they are so bulky that they are very difficult to cable manage. I'm wondering if anyone's got any tips on how to measure what length cables are right for my setup and/or any tips on consolidating cables? maybe I could use Y splitters on the monitor power for the top and bottom monitors so I only have two power cables trailing down instead of one, I'm not sure if anyone makes Y splitters for HDMI or DisplayPort to a reliable quality - plus I'd still want equal terminations at each end as I have more than enough ports. I do have an Ikea cable tray under my desk which is useful if a bit restrictive.

Hello, I've been trying to setup dual monitor for my pc. I've got a 2k monitor for gaming etc. and i've got 720p old monitor for discord, whatsapp web etc. I didn't want to use external gpu for that so i've plugged old monitor to motherboard hdmi. (iGPU enabled in bios, iGPU multi monitor enabled in bios.) I don't want to use external gpu like desktop windows manager, chrome, explorer.exe etc. So I've chosen iGPU for that programs. But it didn't work out. Everything still using eGPU instead of iGPU. 2nd monitor working properly and plugged into motherboard. I really don't get it how it's even possible. Could you help me for that Best regards *Screenshots in .jxr format due to HDR. **My language is Turkish but everything showing properly i hope. So I have another gpu I could use and an rtx 2060 arriving later today, but I've been some weird issues that I can only deduce are from the gpu, I have two displays hooked up to hdmi, but the problem I'm having is my second display keeps dropping out for a few seconds and coming back with an audio device change alert, most of the time when the signal to monitor 2 drops out, but sometime both displays go out for about 15 seconds and the pc reboots. The card didn't seem to have issues prior to this and I have made no system changes in the past two weeks, this started a few days ago. As I said, I have one gpu I can use as a back up (a gt 1030) and I have rtx 2060 I'll be installing today, so if the card is going out, oh well, but I'd like to get some other opinions before I relegate this thing to the e-waste bin. Edit: Card in question is a Gigabyte GTX 1050 Gaming 2gb. I got it practically new from a friend since he needed a gpu that didn't need a 6pin power connector, so I traded them another Gigabyte 1050 that ran off board power, it worked fine in my previous system for the month or so I had it before putting it in this pc in the start of september.

I travel back and forth to 2 homes in 2 different countries at least twice a year. Is it possible to have a multi monitor setup like a dock setup, so that I can connect a desktop or a laptop to the dock? I have not figured out my multi monitor setup configuration yet either. I am still researching pros and cons. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Questions would also help in me making the right decision for me as well.

Hello everyone. I have a VG278Q (27inch, Full HD, 1ms, 144Hz). I was interested in getting two monitors that I can align vertically next to this main one and have them flush with this main monitor. The purpose is for work mainly so that I can add extra information on the sides that I might need to access while working on the main one. I know it's odd to try to make this happen but I have limited desk space and I don't need full sized side monitors. Does anyone have any suggestions? I would love the setup to look something like this image bellow:

Dear Community Is there a way to set up nvidia surround with 3 monitors where one of the monitors is connected to the Mainboard? I can run them all as seperated displays with no problems as I have activated IDG Multi-Monitor in the BIOS. The problem is that one of my displaycables is too short to reach the back of the graphicscard. I have already tried it with no additional tools and the display is not showing in the surround setup process. I could just buy a longer cable, but now I am just genuinly interrested if there is way in doing this. I have also tried HeliosDisplayManagement with no luck. (works if all monitors are connected with the graphicscard) Happy to hear from you, where there is hope, there is a way. Stay healthy

Ok I’ll try and explain my issue so I have a capture card hooked up to my second pc, one monitor hooked up via DP and a second output to HDMI. This output is a duplicate of the main display however it locks the FPS in any game to 20. If I stop duplicating it’s 60 if the capture card is set to the main display again I get 60 but when duplicating I’m locked at 20, I have even tried lowering settings just in case. I was trying whilst running at 1440p and duplicating to 1080p thought that might of been the issue and tried setting my main display to 1080p again I still get the issue of being locked at 20. Would anyone be able to suggest anything because I have tried searching and I am getting nowhere. when I open the game bar and pin something like the system stats current FPS ram usage all that the games then run at 60. It just adds to the confusion and I’m not sure why having something in screen resolves the issue. I would rather not play with that there.

Hey everyone! I ran into a problem when connecting my two monitors over different GPUs in my build. I need to do this because my USB booted linux based system does not work/recognize my dedicated GPU. So I need to switch the DVI cable everytime I want to start my normal windows based machine or switch to the linux one. Setup: I have two samsung monitors with DVI, HDMI and Displayports. I have one monitor connected with the hdmi and one with DVI for windows mode. I switch the dvi from the dedicated one to the integrated one when I want to use linux and leave the other monitor black. I also have to switch every time in the BIOS from use of IGP to DGP manually after switching the cables. It supports multimonitor setup with the use of the integrated GPU. Dedicated: GTX 1060 Motherboard: MSI Gaming 3 CPU: i5 4690 (i think) The goal is now to have a hardware or software setup that allows me to have minimal effort when switching to the linux system. Thank you for the help. I didnt find anything usefull because noone needs two monitor from different gpus if the one good one already does it. I just need it for the resolution of my linux. Which is Tails and Ubuntu btw. so a solution within linux doesnt help me.
