Hi everybody, I previously owned a desktop (majorly for 3D rendering and Deep Learning) with the following specs: Processor: AMD 5950X Ram: G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 128GB (4 x 32GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 4000 Motherboard: MSI X570 ACE GPU: 2 x 2080Ti founder edition (did no do SLI since does not need it) Storage: 1 x SAMSUNG 980 PRO M.2 2280 2TB, 2 x Samsung 860 EVO SSD 4TB Power: 1300W Seasonic Gold Case: LIAN LI O11 Dynamic XL ROG Now I got one more 3080 Ti, I was wondering whether it is possible for me to add it to the current setup? Since the specs of the Mobo said: 1x PCIe 4.0/ 3.0 x16 slot (PCI_E5, supports x4 mode) 2x PCIe 4.0/ 3.0 x1 slot 2x PCIe 4.0/ 3.0 x16 slots (PCI_E1, PCI_E3) 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen™ support PCIe 4.0 x16/x0, x8/x8 modes 2nd Gen AMD Ryzen™ support PCIe 3.0 x16/x0, x8/x8 modes Ryzen™ 4000 G-Series support PCIe 3.0 x16/x0, x8/x8 modes Ryzen™ with Radeon™ Vega Graphics and 2nd Gen AMD Ryzen™ with Radeon™ Graphics support PCIe 3.0 x8 mode1 If I understand it correctly, I could put 3080Ti on the top PCIe (which should be x16 in use since does not enable SLI, but x8 when using CUDA?), and 2080Tis on one x8 and x4. Will this work? (If not work, I could sell one 2080Ti..

multi gpu Can I use AMD and Nvidia GPUs both on this PC?
MahadKamal posted a topic in Graphics Cards
I just got this PC with a GT 730 and a Core i5 4590S, the motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-Q87M-D2H Rev.1, and the PSU is a 450W Supply. I have a Radeon HD 7470 on me, the motherboard supports one Nvidia GPU and AMD Crossfire with two AMD GPUs, so can I use the HD7470 that I have with this PC? I know this is irrelevant but I want to try it out. -
Can use to render 2x 3060ti with ryzen 7 3700x ?(For Blender, cinema4d, keyshot) do i need a higher cpu? Motherboard: rog strix b550 e gaming

I have an AMD RX 5600XT graphics card whose HDMI port does not work on my Intel i5 9400 gaming pc. Everything works fine, I can just use Intel HD graphics and it will just use the dedicated GPU "RX 5600XT" when gaming. Sadly, when I put the RX 5600XT GPU on my Ryzen 5 3600 (no igpu) rig I had to pair it with my Gefore 210 since the 210's HDMI port is working so I can have display output, but when I play games it still selects/uses the Geforce 210. How do you enable the RX 5600 XT for gaming in this case? Thanks very much in advance, a reply would be appreciated

I've been trying to get two NVIDIA graphics cards to play nice, and while they did for a while, I've broken something and I'm out of ideas on how to fix it. Any advice would be welcome. I have an RTX 3080 and a GT 710 installed, and had been successfully using them to drive 6 monitors (4 from the 3080, 2 from the 710) for a few weeks. I had to install the latest drivers from NVIDIA's website for the 710 to get it working, as the latest drivers for the 3080 don't support the 710 anymore. Earlier today I made the mistake of hitting the update button in GeForce Now, which installed the latest drivers for the 3080, giving me 2 blank screens from the 710. Windows Device Manager still shows both cards, but has a "Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device" error message on the 710. Installing the latest 710 drivers again fixed its 2 attached monitors, but that now leaves the 3080 with the same "Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device" error, and the associated blank screens on its monitors. I tried using DDU in Windows' safe mode to clear out everything before reinstalling the 710 drivers, but it didn't seem to make a difference. Are there any more troubleshooting steps I should try, or any driver magic I should know about? UPDATE: I installed the latest 3080 drivers and rebooted (without DDU). Logged in, and after a minute or two of me gazing into the abyss not touching anything, the two monitors attached to the 710 came to life and started working again. As far as I can tell after some investigation, Windows automatically downloaded and installed an entirely different version of the NVidia drivers (version 456.71, released in October 2020), which was an older driver that supported both the 3080 and the 710. I didn't know such a driver existed, and more searching led me to find the latest NVidia driver that supported both the 3080 and the 710: version 472.12, released in September 2021. What led me astray while looking for the latest 710 driver was some security patches NVidia published after they ended their "Game Ready Driver" support for the 710 - these non-"Game Ready Driver" drivers apparently don't work with the 3080 (or most modern cards). The most recent Game Ready Driver for the 710, version 472.12, is the magic bullet that I was looking for. If mods want to delete this since it's pretty obscure and probably just clutter, feel free to do so.

For my 3960x+4*3090 custom water cooling build, I stucked for 2 months. Yesterday, I tried my best to put things together but I think my motherboard just crashed. It is showing 00 now. Now I have to tear everything apart and get a new motherboard which is likely to be another 3 months for me. Does anyone know any professional water-cooled pc building team in NYC?

source: https://www.khronos.org/blog/vulkan-multi-gpu-support-not-just-for-windows-10 after GDC, Khronos clarifies the stance on Vulkan multi-GPU support: it still remains at the game developer's whim if they and how will they implement multi-GPU support on their games --- edit https://www.pcper.com/news/Graphics-Cards/OS-Limitations-Vulkan-Multi-GPU-Support more info from PCPer, it was initially thought that LDA mode was introduced with WDDM2 and W10 and this created another confusion on W10 dependance as it stands out, LDA mode was introduced in WDDM ever since Windows Vista !!!!

So I’ve been thinking about trying to do one of the smallest multi GPU rigs ever and I have an idea but I’m not sure if it’s posible... can I turn one full pcie 16x slot into two pcie 8x slots? so my plan is to take something similar to the dans case (i will probably make it with protocase or something) witch is an itx case and turn that 16x slot into two 8x slots side by side in the same place ware a duel slot video card would be, i intend to accomplish this by liquid cooling two 1080 ti’s and making them both single slot. But i dont know if i can turn that 16x slot into two 8x slots, that’s the current problem. does anyone know if this is posible?

source: http://www.gamersnexus.net/news-pc/3005-amd-moving-away-from-crossfire-with-rx-vega this is not entirely unexpected game developers and game engine developers have shown little to no interest in supporting multi-GPU configurations, so this shouldn't be of any surprise the baffling thing is that DX12 MS went out of their way to support and implement mixed GPU setups in the API, although no one actually has a game engine that supports it my guess is that few generations from now, SLI and CFX will be removed altogether

Hi. I am a VFX artist and I want to try Linux for work (Maya, Fusion, Nuke, Davinci Resolve, Syntheyes, Mari, Substance, ..etc). In the past I used Ubuntu and Fedora as secondary os for fun, but nothing more with linux. I did not find too much performance or stability tests in VFX apps that I am using with direct comparison - same HW with same SW on Windows vs on Linux. That is why I want to try it for myself and to release my test to other people. I need rpm based Linux. Centos or maybe Fedora is suited for me. I made it working with nvidia drivers and some apps on simple PC (one GPU, one display) in few hours. But I am using multiple nvidia GPUs, Threadripper, 10G LAN, multiple monitors, Wacom Cintiq etc. I dedicated two days to tests and I wasn’t able to get nvidia drivers running on my main workstations without unplugging GPUs and monitors to 1 GPU 1 display per PC. My issues are mainly from not having enough experience with linux. My attempts (28.02.2019): Fedora 29 + nouveau Two GPUs + 3 displays can be plugged on both cards Fedora 29 + nvidia driver from RPM fusion One GPU + 1 display = Fedora is OK. One GPU + 3 displays = Not tested but probably will work. Two and more GPUs + 1 or more displays = Fedora is unable to output GUI to any of plugged displays. Centos 7 1810 + updates to this day + nouveau Two GPUs + 3 displays = Centos is picking one display on one GPU on DVI for GUI. Other displays are showing “command line”. If mouse cross to other display it can’t go back to GUI display. Display properties can see only one display (with GUI). Two GPUs + 1 display = Centos is outputting black screen. I tried all outputs. Centos 7 1810 + updates to this day + elrepo nvidia driver Two GPUs + 3 displays - one working before nvidia driver = black screen Centos 7 1810 + updates to this day + manual nvidia driver install Two GPUs + 3 displays = I don’t know how to properly blacklist nouveau. I found lot of guides but lot of them was for older Centos, or had some files in place at the start, or was using vim and other tools without explanation. I tried to google shortcuts for it, but I run out of time. Can I ask someone for help? I need good guide for installing nvidia driver with two and more nvidia gpus and multiple monitors ideally plugged in multiple graphic cards on Centos. Fedora can be second choise, but there i need some help about running aps like Blackmagick design Davinci Resolve Studio. Thanks.

Hi there, I'm looking forward to build a RENDERING Machine for CGI, Animation, Rendering etc. The Components I've found that meet my requirements in prespective of cash (3500$) I can spend so far are 1. AMD RYZEN 3950x 2. ASUS WS PRO x570 ACE/ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR VIII HERO (WIFI) 3. 2x NVIDIA RTX 2070 SUPER (Rendering) + NVLINK 3 WAY 4. 1x NVIDIA RTX 2060 SUPER (Viewport) 5. 512 GB SAMSUNG EVO PRO 970 M.2 NVME 6. 1TB SSD HikVision 7. 2x 32GB 3200/3600Mhz CORSAIR VENGEANCE 8. IceGiant ProSiphon Elite 9. 1600 watt Power Supply 10. A Full Tower ATX CASING (Local Vendor) Now there is a little bit of confusion I have: 1. How can I install three GPUs with 3950x which used to have 24 PCIe lanes? I mean how can I set GPU configuration mode like x8/x8/x8 in PCIe 4.0 for ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR VIII HERO (WIFI) as I also want to install an M.2 Nvme. 2. What Motherboard should I go for except MSI MEG x570 Godlike(too costly), I also want a WiFi, Bluetooth and TPM header to make sure my encryption. And for performance I would usually need to overclock it. 3. I've seen ChaosGroup Vray benchmark on RYZEN 3950x they had used 5x RTX 2080Ti and 1x GTX 1080 how would they managed that? 4. Does NVLINK combines the VRAM of GPUs?

The last components for my new build should be here today but I have a question about my current and immediately previous GPUs. I have a 2070 and a 2080, both from Gigabyte and now that I am moving from a mITX board for the first time in a long time I have space to have multiple GPUs. While I know I cannot put them in an SLI configuration, can CUDA aware applications use the CUDA cores from both cards, or are they limited to the primary? Basic introductory video rendering, Handbrake, MakeMKV, and the like. Is there any benefit having both cards in the same system?

Hi all,I’m want to put two GTX1080Ti into SuperMicro 7049GP-TRT (SuperMicro X11DPG-QT motherboard with 6 PCI-E 3.0 x16). There are 4 PCI-E slots dedicated for GPUs; two assigned to CPU2 (slot 6 and 8 ) and two assigned to CPU1 (slot 2 and 4). Looking forward to your advice on how I should arrange my cards and which slots to use?I was planning to use slot 8 (which is the first slot out of the four, closest to CPUs) and slot 4 (third) to keep good ventilation.Sorry if the question is naive or trivial but it’s the first time for me to install twin GPUs.

Hello this may sound a bit stupid but, I am planning on making a new build. My current build is a 6700k and a 1060 6gb. I am planning to move to a 3900x and a 2080ti. As I am planning to use my current monitor with another better monitor, will it be possible if I can also my 1060? The 2080ti will be powering one of those 34 inch Alienware monitors, while the 1060 will be on a 29 inch 1080p lg. I know this isn't needed and I can run both monitors on the 2080ti, but I don't have plans on selling my old pc. Are there any downsides to this? All I can see is the Pcie arrangment, but Pcie 3 x8 is enough so pcie 4 x8 would be plentiful. Maybe the cpu cores won't be enough to split between the cards (if thats how it works) ? I just want some feedback over this choice, because if it is a stupid thing to do I won't do it. Thank you. (Also the 2080ti will be water cooled so thermals shouldn't be a problem?

My 3D rendering program of choice, Keyshot, has recently added support for GPU rendering with Ray Tracing on Nvidia cards. I'm concerned about memory capacity because I can easily fill up 10GB+ with assets and materials when rendering on my CPU. Unfortunately, you can't pool VRAM with Keyshot yet, but apparently that function is in the works. I also game on a 34" 1440p monitor and will be using the GPU to power my Oculus Quest through link. I'm planning on upgrading to a 2070 SUPER soon, with the intention of adding another 2070S with NVlink when support for pooling VRAM is added, giving me 16GB total. I'm aware that the B450 Tomahawk only has 1 PCIe 3.0 x16, with an additional PCIe 2.0 x16. And the 2700X has 16 lanes for GPUs. I'm struggling to find answers as SLI in gaming becomes less popular. Am I going to run into problems (PCIe, power handling, bottlenecks etc.) if I add in second card on my B450 Tomahawk with my 2700X? Thanks

Hi, I was wandering if using DX12 multi gpu work with a 1060 and a 2060? If so how can I set this up and would 600w psu be enough power to run both GPUs at the same time for gaming

I have looked around and I haven't gotten a satisfactory answer before I shell out the cash for a Quadro p2000. My dilema is that I have 2 monitors and would like to keep using 2 monitors, but from what I've read i would need a display hooked up to the card i would like to use as my primary graphics adapter though. This is the article that has been the most help to me, even as far as steps on how to set this up: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Business-PCs-Workstations-and-Point-of-Sale-Systems/SOLVED-Quadro-P2000-GTX-1080TI-CAD-AND-GAMING-on-a-HP-Z620/td-p/6114848 If anyone has a solution or answer that would be much appreciated as I would like to have one system instead of 2. Some more details of what I would be doing would be CAD/3D modelling with the Quadro and gaming with my GTX 1070. Thanks again to anyone that can help!

I have a R9 Fury X I got used not long ago and although it works fine for the games I want to play, I'm worried that all the games coming out with the next consoles will be too much to play them at 60fps 1080p if I opt for high settings. My motherboard (TUF X570) supports Crossfire, but only through the chipset. I'm hoping that to upgrade I can add another used Fury X and go but I've heard that Crossfire through the chipset is in general a bad idea, I've run one GPU through a chipset before and it was fine. What are some of the issues I may encounter if I do crossfire through the chipset and are two R9 Fury X(s) a good idea for a GPU upgrade in the used market?

Anyone had good experience with Vega64 in a multi GPU set up? i've had my 64 for a while and i can pick up a second for just under $550 USD to add to the threadripper system i'm building (still need mobo, cpu and ram but i'm getting those with my next 2 pay checks) I've seen some frontier cards used for sub $500 and am trying to decide between the 2. I currently have 3 x 1080p monitors between 2 ancient mac pros and a 1440p ultrawide with freesync. i'd like to put the 3 1080p monitors on a second card in my main computer and have the option to crossfire for games that support it, when not running da vinci or heavily multi tasking, so i'm leaning towards the second 64. I'm condensing my 3 computer set up to 1 to handle everything. currently a ryzen 5 rig for games and the macs for music and/or video editing. I've got a few weeks to decide on the second card. I've seen very little done with multiple vega cards outside of some show pieces.

Please help me I want to build a PC for vfx compositing and heavy rendering My budget is $ 6000 My questions are 1 - SLI or Single beast? 2 - What are the pros & cons of SLI only in work performance? 3 - which mother board to use if using SLI GPU? 4 - if SLI doesn't work properly, can i use single GPU over the same mother board? If yes, what's the process then? 5 - can every software may run with SLI? or some specifics are 6 - what actually matter in fast rendering and smooth performance? My softwares are Adobe after effects cc 2018, premiere pro cc 2018, 3ds Max, v-ray, Maya.
