Hello! Can You help me pick between Asus ROG STRIX B650E-F, Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX, Gigabyte B650 AORUS Elite AX V2, and msi tomhawk plus wifi? For reference this current build is for streaming/gaming/video editing, the video editing is professional but i dont go beyond anything 1080p, currently im slightly leaning towards the gigabyte tho i originally planned for asus, while researching i saw that asus was having quality issues from a couple months ago but i dont know if thats still going on, seems very hit or miss, "best board ive ever had" to ive had to rma my board 2 times, gigabyte seems to have bad audio codecs? tho i know i could probably get around with an amp but more money ;x; and for msi 1 mniute+ boot times and ive seen its really hit or miss. Also seems that there isnt much of a consensus, ive gotten so many mixed answers, its kinda overwhelming at this point. Basically in a nutshell if you could share experiences, what you've heard etc i would really really appreciate it since this is the first time ive made just a huge expense so i want to try to make the best decision possible thank you in advance! (also if you have other recommendations from the ones listed lmk!) Thank you in advance!

So this my current build I need help finding a MB with a z390 chipset and under $170 thanks. I am planning on running games around 240fps low settings with some overclocking but not anything extreme. I don't care about onboard WiFi or any other fancy features I just want something with good VRM that gets the job done for a decent price. -Intel Core i9-9900K 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor -Corsair iCUE H115i RGB Pro XT 63 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler -Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL20 Memory (planning to upgrade to something faster than CL20 eventually) - Team GX2 1 TB 2.5" Solid State Drive - Gigabyte Radeon RX 6800 16 GB Video Card (technically I don't own this card yet but I want to) - Cooler Master MasterBox MB320L ARGB MicroATX Mid Tower Case - 700 watt power supply (haven't bought it yet) -four case fans to add to help with airflow. The current MBs I am looking at are: - https://www.newegg.com/p/1JW-000J-001Y6?Description=mATX%20Z390&cm_re=mATX_Z390-_-1JW-000J-001Y6-_-Product (I understand this a third party seller) and -https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16813145095 Any advice you have is much appreciated thanks :)

In my search for picking out parts for my PC, the motherboard has been a bit difficult for me to fully understand what to buy. However, I eventually figured some things out and found what I prioritize in a motherboard. Soon after, I searched around on the online market and singled it down to two motherboards, MSI PRO Z790-A and MSI PRO Z790-P. These two motherboards have similar specs, but with one being more expensive for, what I assume, a better quality. My question specifically resides in about the power design MSI advertises for each motherboard. The Z790-P has a 14+1+1 power design, meanwhile the more expensive Z790-A has a 16+1+1. What does this mean and how much of a difference does this make? To be more specific, I plan to eventually upgrade to an Intel i9-13900K when prices come down as the next generation of CPUs come out. If I recall correctly, the 14th gen Intel CPUs will not be compatible with Z790 motherboards, thus why I plan to upgrade to the i9 13th gen. Therefore, I want to make sure I'm able to run the i9 13th gen without, or much of, a hitch and I think power design may be very important to running that CPU. Thus I've been wondering and want to learn more on how much of a difference this makes between those two motherboards. Here are the specific motherboards I have brought up in this forum post: MSI PRO Z790-A: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-Z790-A-WIFI MSI PRO Z790-P: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-Z790-P Thank you for reading my post, I'm looking forward to any responses people may have!(˶′◡‵˶)

Hey, I got my hands on an Asus z97-a motherboard recently and I can't get it to bios because of a "boot device issue." I get an output on the display but it is just a blank black screen. I have made sure no overclocking is enabled, I've reset bios, tried to reset cmos. I've used multiple different display outputs, cables, graphics cards. I tried different drives, cables, psu's, basicly everything.

motherboard help Ddr3 on a h110 motherboard ??
T1232012 posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Was thinking of buying this cheap motherboard for my i5 6500 but it says ddr3 ram ?? How is this possible. Do you think it means ddr3L ? What do you guys think? Will I be able to use normal ddr3 on this ? -
Hi guys, I was wondering if you could help me out here. After finding out through a process of elimination that my Motherboard is broken, I've decided to start working on a new PC build. My current build was roughly 4 years ago, and stands like this: MOBO: Asus Z87-K (Broken) CPU: Intel i5 4th gen. 670k PSU: Corsair RM 750 Gold GPU: Nvidia GTX 660 RAM: Corsair Vengeance 1600MHZ DDR3 HD: WD Green 2TB OS: Windows 7 I'm receiving a steady income currently, so month by month I'll have money to spend on new parts, and the first thing I need to have a working computer is a new Motherboard. I've never really understood much of what makes a MOBO "good" outside of reviews, so I'd really appreciate a recommendation if you have any ideas. It'll need to support all of my current hardware, as well as my future intended purchases. Firstly after the MOBO, I intend on buying 32GB or RAM, that should sort me out for the next few years. Haven't looked into what RAM to buy yet. DDR 5 is a thing now right? Afterwards, I'm thinking of slamming in a new GPU, friend of mine told me to go with the Nvidia GTX 1080, upon reading into in, I think he's right. Then I think a new CPU is in order. My rig is primarily for gaming, but I photoshop and multi task frequently. I'm also almost always on Skype, so I think I should just bite the bullet and fork out for an i7 6700-k. I feel like this will future proof my computer. Plus I enjoy playing around with over clocking. So, any criticism/suggestions and advice is hugely appreciated. Please feel free to pick holes in my idea of a better PC. If you think I should do something different or read up on something first, I'd be happy to learn. Thank you!

I am building a PC for video editing on a budget. I have done some research both in the community and outside, and think Ryzen 5 1600 would be a good value for money given my use case and budget. I was also considering a B350 motherboard and was thinking of working my way up from my motherboard choice to figure out the RAM from the motherboard's memory support list. I have heard of dual channel DDR4 to fit in Ryzen builds, I am aiming for 8GB in total. I know that may not be enough but would definitely try for 16GB if the budget permits. I am a novice and would really appreciate your help to figure out the build for my use case. It would be really helpful if you could comment on if I am getting anything wrong or where I should improve ?

Hi. I'm going to get a new i7 6700k processor, but i'm not sure which motherboard to choose. I'm going to game 90% and the rest is just video editing and normal web browsing. I have looked at the Asus Maximus 8 Extreme, but i'm not sure if its too "overpowered." I have also looked at: Asus Maximus 8 Ranger. Asus Maximus 8 Formular. Asus z170-Deluxe. Asus z170-Prenium. Maybe you also have some suggestions for RAM, (size, speed etc.)

I'm looking to switch to an AMD R7 2700X for streaming purposes. I'm coming from my first build being an Intel I5 76k, it just isn't powerful enough and I need to upgrade my MOBO anyways if I want to do a CPU upgrade. What would be a good option for a Motherboard for my use case? I don't need the best money can buy, but I don't like to be under-upgraded if you get me. I bought a Z170 board for a Kaby lake Chip on first build... that was a mistake I wont do again. Preferences are fairly limited; Budget: $300ish, also not in a rush to get it, sales are awesome. ATX form factor. currently using a NZXT H440 case. throw cooler suggestions at me if you wish, I doubt my Hyper 212 EVO will be enough in the long run. I have 3200 RAM, (8x2=16gb currently, may add 2 more sticks to 32 later on) I've heard that getting RAM to run at the proper hz on AMD boards has been difficult, based on previous forum browsing (unless this is fixed by updates, I'm a bit of a n00b with AMD so bear with me) RGB is preferential, but not necessary. I like black and white primary, with blue / purple color schemes, so yes I'm avoiding the typical red lighting that MOBOS come with. i'm not that edgy. x4 SATA ports minimum, as I have 2 SSD and 2 HDD, and may need more slots soon enough. (I have a lot of games) Thunderbolt 3 would be nice, but not necessary I guess x7+ USB ports would be great, but I can deal with less by using the outputs on my monitors Thanks a million, LTT forum!

My system is currently bottlenecked since its a rtx-2070 paired with a fx-6300 and i need to upgrade my CPU and I will buy a ryzen 7 3700x and then i need to buy ram and motherboard. I think i Will buy 16gb 3600mhz since I’ve heard it’s the sweet spot with Ryzen 3000 Series (would like to know if you have any suggestions or experience). Then to the real question. What motherboard should I buy?! I am thinking about asus rog b450-f gaming. But I have about 600$-700$ to spend So I would like to know if you have any experience about that board or have any other board to suggest

So I'm planning to buy AORUS AX370 Gaming K5 but after I did some research I found out that vcore settings are locked, there is no static vcore voltage only dynamic. And I want to overclock the 1600. So my questions are this. - Is it worth buying this motherboard for 140$-10% cash discount? - Is it still possible to get great overclocks on Ryzen 5 1600? - How does dynamic Vcore voltage work? - Any other motherboard suggestions or this motherboard is good *bang for the buck* All information is greatly appreciated.

I'm getting a ASRock B350 Pro4 mobo and ryzen 5 1600. I need help picking out ram that will run at the rated speeds. I want 3000mhz or 3200mhz ram modules (2x4gb) kit.

OK so i need some help bout a motherboard thing. i just built my new ryzen 5 1600x workstation a few days ago and got it started. Now i bought some Corsair vengeance LPX RAM that was rated at 2666mhz and plugged it in my motherboard then booted up my pc. when i reached the BIOS the speed was immediate 2133 mhz. Now i know that ryzen likes higher RAM speeds, and that why i want to set my ram speeds however i tried to to do that but i think i stuffed up and it wouldn't boot. I went into the bios and just selected a higher memory speed without touching voltages or RAM latency's or the OHM setting whatsoever. i think i did this wrong #and id like a step by step walk though of how to over clock my RAM correctly: Note its seas the was system stability issues and brought me back to post then BIOS, BUT i have only been playing games and so far it has only affected frames by like 3 to 4 FPS. But i do intend to use this for things like blender CPU mark and other stuff, so SHOULD i set my RAM speeds Higher? i have an asus b350f motherboard, and Dont know where to find XMP thanks!!!

So recently i bought a fx 8350 to replace my fx 4300, and i must say its so much better (also bought my first ssd which made a big difference) but in some games i have been getting some throttling with it, its normally at around 4-4.2ghz but after a while of playing games it will drop to 1.4ghz and then after a few seconds raise back up to normal. I knew for sure it wasnt due to the cpu overheating as i have just got a aio liquid cooler and it sits at 42c on load. So after doing a bit of research i came to the conclusion its my motherboard holding it back, it supposedly can handle the fx 8350 but it seems it cant. Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 this is the motherboard in question is this motherboard the problem? and if so what would a good replacement be, preferably cheap i saw someone recommend Gigabyte 970A-UD3Pbut i would rather see what anyone on here suggests. Thanks, Matt.

Does anyone know of a good reliable mobo off of newegg thats lga 1150, and will support a 4790k thats under or 200? I also needs to have 2 pcie ports for 2 gpus in the future. The reviews on some are very discouraging. I also would want at least one hdmi port.

I really need some help as i'm pretty noob. I want to build my own system but i'm not entirely sure on the parts for it, so it'd be great if you could help. So, i'm wanting a Micro ATX system, already thinking about the Fractal ARC Mini R2 case to house it all. I already have some Corsair Vegeance DDR3 RAM, so that part's sorted. I've also bought a NZXT 550w psu and that's it so far. I'm also wanting the i7 4790 CPU, it's an FCLGA1150 socket, which i'm not really sure what that is and how that's different to the LGA1150. I just need some recommendations for all the other parts as i know like nothing, if it all could be a fairly reasonable price that would be nice, i don't need like super pro stuff. For the motherboard, i'd really like one that has 2 USB 3.0 port things to connect to the ones on the case. Of course it has to fit in a Micro ATX case And that's basically all i want for that. For the Graphics card, something that can give good frame rates on high end settings at probably 1080p, not considered any higher resolutions yet since i don't know what monitor to get yet. Storage, i'd like an ssd but i don't think i can afford one with decent capacity from the money that i'll have left. I don't know about the cooling methods, not sure if i should get any of that stuff, but you can enlighten me. I'd like every thing to be the most "bang for your buck", as i don't have that much money for all the fancy stuff. Thanks alot to who every's even reading this Would really appreciate some help here.

Today I am going to be buying a Motherboard, Hard Drive, and Case for my first build. I know that the case (Fractal Design Define R4) and the WD caviar blue 1tb HDD will work with everything I have. I already bought an FX-8320 CPU, and I have been reading that it does not work with Asus' M5A97, 970 chipsets. Her's my build if you want to see it. Please Help because I will be buying this today!!!! http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2vz6h
