Hardware speculation of the newest laptops of 2014
wng_kingsley7 posted a blog entry in wng_kingsley7's Blog
So Razer has now officially launched their new high end gaming laptops following on with what their target audience wants very thin overpowered gaming laptops in two different models which are hardware improvements over the previous graphics counterparts from either nvidia or amd replacing them with newer models (although my understanding is that nvidia"s new GPU – NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 860M also to be featured in the upcoming Y series from Lenovo rumored appearance and official launch next month April to around May between that time frame) we have a huge beefy kick up the butt for getting a higher resolution panel @ a wooping pixel by pixel count of 3200 by 1800, or 262 pixels per inch—a higher pixel density than even Apple's much-lauded Retina display. On to the topic of display panels they are also rooting to follow the matte panel screen however I think its an optional verdict (which is good) that they have also added a new display technology IGZO reducing the weight futhermore on a large or small display (IGZO may only be supported on the Razer Blade Pro Seventeen inch gaming model which is too bad) Do any gamers really care about ten point multitouch on a display that is as big as the iPhone 5s or maybe slightly bigger I believe the hard buttons above are an essential necessary add on since it looks the part Whether your are interested or not here are a couple links http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-systems/razer-blade-pro http://www.pcworld.com/article/2107281/hands-on-updated-razer-blade-and-blade-pro-laptops-still-slim-more-supercharged.html It has been stated by PCWorld the most top tier model will be featuring the and I quote Support for multi monitors using the latest HDMI 1.4a >_> and video output which also includes fullsize Display port no VGA Now as the title says I will be doing a lite rant or comparison between this laptop to the most anticipated gaming laptops to date These are the following gaming grade or slim line ultra powerful laptops available and coming out The Lenovo Ideapad Y series (upcoming this year 2014) Lenovo Y50 (15.6”) Lenovo Y40 Touch (14") The Apple Macbook Pro (15.4" LED backlit) @2880x1800 pixels (Retina) Scaled resolutions: 1920x1200, 1680x1050, 1280x800 and 1024x640 pixels (13.3") 2560x1600 pixels (Retina) Scaled resolutions: 1680x1050, 1440x900 and 1024x640 pixels The Dell XPS 15 (9530) with the lower screen size then the Razer Blade Pro but the same size as the the bigger brother Lenovo model AORUS Gaming Laptop X7 MSI GS70 STEALTH GIGABYTE P35K ASUS ROG G750JX Upcoming comparison coming soon so subscribe to my blog :D -
Hello Forum! Currently I have a selfbuild PC - i5 6600k r9 390 sapphire 500gb ssd z170 pro gaming But at the moment I need the flexibilty to go where ever I want (due traveling and collage). I also do a bunch of coding, mostly web development, not much video intensive stuff. So it will be mostly a sort of office laptop. My budget is pretty small around 500-600€, yep sorry I am from Germany. I was thinking about a thinkpad. Maybe an used t450? I do not mind to upgrade an ssd or ram or whatever. I just want to read your thoughts, what laptops you can suggest or cannot? Thanks for the help!

Hello everyone!!! First of all, I would like to say that I am not an English speaker, sorry if I make some mistakes. Let me introduce you to my situation, which, I think, is very common. I am in Europe, working as a Web Developer. Despite my setup at my work, I have my own laptop for study my stuffs and play. It is not a good laptop for play (it hasn't a dedicated GPU) and it is not a good laptop for study most of the computer languages and topics (Windows, even though, is becoming easier): Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4702MQ CPU @ 2.20GHz RAM 8.0 GB Video Card Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 I watched LTT video about Razer Stealth and Core, and I loved that, I thought about buying it, but I found it really expensive and, as he said, I think it is not the moment. Also I like to have mobility, just saying. Knowing this, and in your criteria, which is the best way to update my equipment? Waiting forward to your comments!

I saw a listing for a Clevo RTX 2080 on Ebay for $1,900 and you can also get the heat sink and screws to fit for an extra $100. I have a Zotac mini that uses an MXM card, but it hardly get enough power and cooling as is for the 2070 in it. My question is, is ray tracing even worth it for laptop or mini pc gamers? To me, I feel like even with the correct cooling to keep the beast quenched, it would still not perform as efficient and you would be going out of your way for a mobile card that could easily be an full external thunderbolt card in the mindset of mobility type systems. Thoughts?

Hey guys. I need to compare my 2 options. I need a laptop anyways(you will found out after reading what this is meant for). 1. Get this PC. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/bwWnXP This is pretty much my dream PC since grade C(currently in grade H). I always wanted a sleek, white and black build. Strong in both aesthetics and power. Thing is, I really have problems letting go of things that I want. I mean it has been so hard switching to another GPU and MB. And changing the fans and case from NZXT since I found out they are stealing information from you. What that makes this option even harder is the fact that in my country everything costs way more. I mean if the build is 3k$, it will cost at least 4k$ here. At least. That is a lot of money. I am not sure if I want to buy such a pricey thing since I will only have 5 years of use from it. 2. Get this laptop: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07CBV1MYJ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&psc=1 It looks like an amazing laptop, also done my research and stuff. I will take this to school as well as game at home. If you are asking why it's from the UK Amazon, I will send it to a friend of mine in the UK, as he will be visiting soon(I just found out that Newegg doesn't want much for shipping so might go from there). This is definitely not my dream PC, but I always wanted a gaming laptop anyways. I will always keep it in my bag when not using it, carry my bag EVERYWHERE and put a lock on it. This comes way cheaper, due to the fact that I won't need to buy another laptop. What do you guys think? Is it too dangerous for the laptop? Is the laptop bad? Any thoughts, questions and answers about every topic are appreciated. Thanks!

Which pc is better for budget gaming. I do move around a lot, but I can just buy something specifically designed to hold a PC while on the go. My bugdet is about 550 Max https://www.bestbuy.com/site/dell-inspiron-desktop-amd-a10-series-8gb-memory-amd-radeon-rx-560-1tb-hard-drive-recon-blue-with-solid-panel/6181800.p?skuId=6181800 https://www.bestbuy.com/site/cyberpowerpc-gamer-ultra-desktop-amd-fx-series-8gb-memory-1tb-hard-drive-black-blue/4593000.p?skuId=4593000

Hey you people on here, I'm planning a build for college that will let me edit videos, record gameplay and play most games at max but the mobility might be a problem later on through college so I was wondering if there is an affordable laptop out there that has the power of a desktop but in a laptop, my desktop build has a R9 390 and an i7 4790k so if there is anything close to that amount of power around the $1500 mark I would love to know about it because most of the laptops I've seen are sub 3.0 ghz on the CPU and that doesn't make me very happy so please help!

Hi all. I decided I want a laptop that I can carry with me to college to take notes and do stuff on the go. I'm looking for a 13-15 inch laptop, focused on portability. The tasks I'm going to do with it are productivity stuff (edit docs, slideshows) and since I'm a computer science student, I'll be using it for coding very frequently. I don't really need fancy graphics or a laptop to be able to play, that's what I have my desktop PC for. I prefer a thinner and lighter computer than a heavier but more powerful one. Right now I'm not intersted in 2-in-1 PCs, I prefer a classic laptop with a keyboard to type on. I've already done some research and found some interesting models of which I'd like to know your opinion. I liked the Zenbook UX303(i54210U 6GbRAM/i75500U 8Gb RAM) and UX305 (this one with CoreM, I don't know if it'll be enough. It's crazy light and thing though). The UX303 cost 850EUR and 920EUR respectively, the UX305 being a bit cheaper, although I'm not sure about it because it's coming to Spain next month. Just so you know more or less what the prices are here (unfortunately more expensive) The budget is what I say in the title. Altough I could consider spending 1000EUR, it'll be best if the price tag was around 900EUR so I don't have to break the bank. I'm looking for opinion on those 2 PCs (specially the CoreM performance) and some other suggestions. Thanks in advance. EDIT: I can wait until September to buy the laptop, it's not necessary right NOW.

So I'm about to order the components for a new LAN/Folding rig, and I'm just down to deciding on the case. Up until this point I've been planning on using the Prodigy, due to the great reviews and particularly the handles, which is a key feature due to the amount of lugging around I'll have to do with this PC. However, I've stumbled upon the Enthoo Evolv, which gets equally great reviews and is also quite the looker, and just looks easier to build in. However, I'm not so sure how well it would lend itself to the mobile lifestyle. The other key feature is cooling. When I'm not doing LAN, this will sit in my room and be folding almost 24/7, so good ventilation is quite important. This also means I'll probably be SLIing at some point in the future, so expansion is key. Anyone got any opinions on which would be the better overall case, experience using one or the other, or any other suggestions for cases I might have missed? Cheers for the help guys!

So since, I have now a bit of cash I was wondering which would be best. I need a portable device primarely for college and everywhere outside my house. And I need something very good. So my sister has a samsung chromebook but the screen broke. Since she neede a new one asap, she bought one. But I fixed it yesterday and now I can buy her old chromebook for 100$. That's option 1. But i'm a real windows and apple fanboy. So I thought at first about and iPad, but it's way to expensive for a tablet (64gb with lte) so then I hought about the microsoft surface 2rt 32gb. Great choice imo. But I really like the amazing resolution of the ipad 2048x1536. so I'm not sure. tthe chromebook for a 100$ is a great prize I think. Now I forgot my phone in my jeans and it got washed. So I also need a new phone (on september 2014). So I'm hesitating between the nokia lumia 1020 and the iPhone 6 (I don't like anymore android but ios is a bit faster and lighter). I take a lot of pictures but I love the quick video editting you can perform on the iphone 5s, and I hope that the iPhone 6 will still have it. Eitherway, thank you for your help!

I'm currently in the process of gathering components for a new main gaming build, as a result of this I'm planning on moving my current build (the one in my sig) into a new case at some point in the future. The idea is, I want a portable rig I can bring with me to LAN parties. As you can see in my sig, the build is running off of an m-ATX board. This does not mean I'm limiting my options to super compact cases, in fact I don't mind going for a mid tower either. I do have a few preferences though. The case needs to have: Great/Good Air Flow (No overly restrictive front panels) Decent build quality Fairly neutral aesthetics (no fancy gaming bling, for reference I really like the Corsair Obsidian aesthetics) It needs to be pretty cheap, as it is only for my "backup" portable rig (anything below or at $80 usd, should be fine) It shouldn't be too large It should still be capable of containing high-profile CPU air coolers, like the Phanteks PH-TC14PE Currently I'm looking at options like the Corsair Carbide 300R or maybe the Air 240 once it's out. It may seem like I'm limiting myself to Corsair cases, but this is not true, I just don't know much about anything else. Keep in mind, I have no plans of ever doing any water cooling on this build, so radiator support isn't a necessity. Any suggestions you may have, would be highly appreciated. Now I also have a question with regards the Carbide 300R case: 1) Is it possible to mount the Phanteks PH-TC14PE (or similar) CPU Cooler with the side panel fans mounted? I know I'm being a little difficult and I have a lot of very specific requirements, but I hope it's possible to find something to fit my specific needs. Thanks in advance.
