Hi all, so after like a few years of playing around with the idea of building this pc, I finally managed to do it and upgrade from my pre-built, I went for the a clean look with the mix of affordability and performance, since parts here are quite expensive for computers. I was surprised on how easy this was, however I did take about one and a half hours of cable management, since I was trying my best to make it clean, overall from the front I feel like it looks fine, while the other side isn't messy but could be better. The W10 install also had some issues, however I manage to fix it with some help from LTT Forums . Anyways let me know what you all think! I'm quite happy of the build. Specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Motherboard: Gigabyte Aorus B550m Elite Ram: G.Skill Sniper X 16GB 3600MHz GPU: Asus TUF GTX 1660 Super 6GB Storage: 256GB Klevv C700 M.2 + 1TB Crucial MX500 PSU: Corsair RM650 Gold Case: Tecware M3+ CPU Cooler: Stock

Hope everyone is well. Recently updated my kid's PC, and I'd like to throw his old hardware into a "smaller" form factor case. The MB is a m-atx with a i7 8700 non-k. I have began the search for m-atx cases that will house an atx PSU as well. Here images of 2 cases that are fairly cheap. Any opinions or experiences with a m-atx case would be great. Just talking shop before I purchase, out of curiosity.

I just found this Case at one of my PC components vendors and didn't recognize it from the usual Azza lineup. So I went to the Azza.gg website and couldn't find it anywhere. I then started digging some more, and found it on another version of Azza's website: azza-tek.com. The only mention that I can find anywhere of it, is one single Youtube unpacking video of it from 2 months ago. Is it a new case, that no one has heard of before, or are there some chinese fake-ing going on? http://www.azza-tek.com/m/2001-1275-836158-1.php?Lang=en

Hey everyone, I hope you are having a great day, and thank you for checking out my build log! I have been working on this project for a while, and actually made a forum post a very long time ago (which has been deleted), but progress has been slow until a week or two ago, and I’m stoked to finally be able to post about it! I’ll first lay out everything I’ve done up to this point, and then update this log regularly as I make progress. Without further ado, let’s go! Background: I’m a highschool student in the Bay Area, and really love PC modding. Apart from a relatively simple and small mod, I haven’t done much - most of my interest is perpetuated by reading/watching other people’s excellent build logs. Hopefully this can be my sort of gateway into the realms of PC modding, and be the first of many projects! Goal: I’m a stickler for clean, understated builds. Don’t get me wrong - I love the builds that go all out as well, but something about that slate, flat appearance really appeals to me. In addition, I love SFF stuff - trying to cram all of your components into as small of a footprint of possible is a challenge (plus materials cost less!) With this build, I’m trying to capture the essence of both, creating as small of a PC case as possible given my current hardware, while maintaining a clean and subdued aesthetic - “monolithic” even (which is where the name came from.) As a side note, this build’s name is completely unrelated to MetallicAcid’s Monolith, which I didn’t know of until this build was underway. As of right now, the build measures in at (273.65 x 112.9 x 264.84mm, 8.18L) excluding the feet, and 8.8L with them included. As it stands now, I believe this is on track to be the smallest M-ATX case built that supports Dual-Slot GPUs (255mm Max), and a fully internal PSU (no DC-ATX Converters.) My intentions aren’t to be the first in the world or anything, I just designed the case around hardware I had (either bought used or donated by friends), and it ended up being pretty small. Materials: The case is made out of a combination of ⅛ and ¼ inch P95 matte acrylic sheets from Tap Plastics. This stuff looks absolutely gorgeous, the way the matte side catches and swallows the ambient light is really something unique. As far as fastening the panels together, I am using Parvum Mod Cubes, in conjunction with various lengths of button head M3 screws, which make the case look pretty industrial/clean IMO. I also used M3 standoffs and nuts to secure the motherboard to the case, and am 3d printing several brackets to mount the GPU and SSD. Parts: Like I stated above, most of my parts either were free from friends, or bought used (on hardwareswap). I’ll list everything I have now, and update it as needed. PC Portion: CPU: AMD A10-7890K (Have) Motherboard: MSI A88XM Gaming (Have) RAM: 2x4GB DDR3 1600 G.Skill Bare Black PCB RAM (Have) CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-L9A (Have) SSD: Intel 320 120GB SSD (Have) GPU: EVGA GTX 750Ti FTW ACX (Have) PCIe Riser: 3M 500mm PCIe x16 Riser (Have) PSU: Seasonic M1U Flex ATX 300w (Have) Case Parts: Laser Cut panels: Tap Plastics P95 Matte Black Acrylic ¼ and ⅛ inch (Have) Window: Tap Plastics Cast Clear Acrylic ⅛ inch (Have) Mod Cubes: 2x Sets Parvum Mod Cubes (Have) Screws: 6/10/16mm Black M3 Button Head Screws from Amazon (Have) Standoffs: 6+6mm Black Nylon M3 Standoffs (Have) Nuts: M3 Nuts Black (Have) M3 Washers: Black 8mm M3 Washers (Have) 3d Printed Parts: Black ABS parts printed with a Zortrax M200 off of 3d Hubs (Shipping) Sleeving Parts: Sleeving: Paracord Planet 550 Paracord Black (Have) Wire: Buywireonline UL1007 16AWG White (Have) Connectors: 24 Pin Female, 18 Pin Female, SATA Crimp connector, PCIe 6 Pin Female, 4+4 Pin EPS/CPU Female (Have) Terminals: MainFrame Female ATX Terminals (Have) The Design: The case has certainly been through several iterations, and I would like to believe that the latest design (the one I am using) has benefitted from things I have learned along the way. My first concept is pretty similar to what I have now, the basic form is still the same, as well as the Parvum Mod Cube fastening method. However, the way the GPU and PSU were mounted at the back was extremely inefficient as well as the weird slotted grill on the right side panel. First Iteration My second design is pretty much what I have now. I tweaked things and changed the placement of the PSU and GPU to create a much smaller and more space efficient case, and changed the right side panel to have a direct grill over the CPU cooler. I explain the different aspects of the case in more detail in the spoiler. Second iteration What I’ve done so far: At the moment of starting this build log, I have laser cut most of the case panels, and am waiting for the 3d printed parts (I can cut the window on Friday.) Here are some photos of the case as it stands right now! Roadmap/Updates: This is as much for me as it is for you guys, which will help me stay on track and culminate my ideas. 3D model the case (Completed) Laser cut the case (In Progress) 3D print mounts/brackets (In Progress) Sleeve/Make custom cables (Planned) LED light the case (Planned) Finish/paint the case (Planned) That’s it guys! Hopefully I’ll have some more posts up soon detailing the issues I’ve had so far, as well as explaining more about how everything works. It would mean the world to me if you followed along, and I’d more more than happy to answer any questions!

I'm thinking about building a new pc because the one i have now is so bulky and crazy loud, but im not too familiar with all the different cases out there. Im looking for a case that's preferably an ITX case but an mATX case would do aswell and i needs it to have some sort of soundproofing of some sort.. Maybe someone with abit more knowledge in this area could give me a few case tips ?

Hi there, Pretty new to the forums but long time LTT follower. I'm looking for a bit of community help in choosing a case for a new portable editing system. Over the last year I have been doing a lot of Freelance editing and have needed to take my workstation from job to job. My current x99 system is in a Corsair Carbide 500R and has both work and personal data on it. It's large, heavy and well like part of the family so every time I have to move it I worry. In fact Ive had to leave it at location a number of time. Not fun. So I'm planning on building a Ryzen based secondary editing PC that I can load my footage and projects onto for the duration of the job and not worry about anywhere near as much. I'm looking for a compact/portable case that can support an m-atx mobo, a standard sized GPU...say founders edition as a minimum, 2-3 3.5 HDD and at least 1 2.5 and finally a 280mm AIO. If the case could have handles that would be a bonus... So far the closest thing I've found is the bit-phoenix Prodigy-M... But I'm not sure on RAD support. I'm open to advice or suggestions etc and if you need more details just let me know. Cheers! FG

So, my 4 year old PC is dying and I'm hoping to replace it with a RYZEN system... As the PC sits in my living room and is part of the decoration, I must RGB EVERYTHING!!! I'm also super restricted in terms of space, as I live in a tiny flat in Hong Kong... So its gotta fit in my Thermaltake Core V21... So, as far as I can work out, there are essentially NO AM4 motherboards with proper RGB board lighting, in the m-atx form factor, other than maybe some BIOSTAR thing that I really want to stay away from... On the other hand, I can walk down to the shops and pick up the ASUS STRIX z270 board and a Core i5 7600K... It'll cost me about USD 100 more, but I REALLY wanna go with the RYZEN just for a change... How come its taking so long for motherboards to come up to fit the AM4 socket? Its driving me nuts!

Hey Gang, I'm looking for some advice here. I'm thinking about doing a new build completely however I feel like this system is plenty fast at the moment and I'm wondering if it's worth the hassle ATM. My goal is to upgrade the motherboard so that I can add some new features like a m2 ssd, integrated wifi, and perhaps USB Type C. I'd like to get to M-ITX at some point but I'm not sure if now is the time. I was looking at the ASUS Maximus GENE but they're hard to find and come in Z87 and Z97 flavors... Here's what I got so far. CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K MB: GIGABYTE Z87MX-D3H RAM: 16GB PC3-14900 DDR3 SDRAM Patriot Memory 1866 CL10 Series GPU(s): 2X EVGA GTX 970 Superclocked ACX 2.0 in SLI SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 500GB PSU: CORSAIR AX850 CASE: BitFenix Phenom Micro-ATX Monitor: Dell U3415W (Provided by work) w/ Macbook Pro connected on seperate input. VR: Oculus Rift Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I've been torn between a few cases, like the core p3 or the define mini c for example just to name two, but I thought I'd come here to bounce some ideas around. I currently have an all white h440 which at the time of purchase, I thought was awesome. Now, I just find it gaudy and a pain imo to work in. Not to mention I'm slowly getting more black parts with small red accents, even though I think I would like to keep it mainly a black and white build with only some red. Things I'm looking for in a case are: tempered glass (I'm a sucker), matte black and/or brushed aluminum, a psu enclosure, and a m-atx bored needs to look decent and not dwarfed inside, if a full atx case. Like I said I have thought and am thinking about the Define mini c, but I am disappointed they don't have a glass window version, at least yet. I know there are other options like the phanteks 400s, but I don't want to copy a friend who has that same case. And there is the s340 elite which I do like, but I don't know if it will be too similar to the h440? Lastly, the core p3... I just don't know what to think of it HALP!

I've had my 350D for nearly 3 years now and I think it's time for a change! I have an M-ATX motherboard with a 4770K being cooled by a Corsair H100i. Although the 350D was only designed for holding 2 x 3.5" Hard drives and 3 x 2.5" drives, I've managed to 'Jerry Rig' another 2 x 3.5" HDDs into the 5.25" bays - one using an adaptor and the other stuck to the top of the one below with adhesive foam strips. The 2.5 SSD is currently just sitting, tucked away behind the motherboard tray. My request is that someone in this vast community can recommend another case for me with these attributes: Made for micro ATX as it's largest board (don't want PCI slots on the case that aren't being used, I feel this looks messy) That it holds at least the 4x 3.5 and the 1x 2.5 with possible room for expansion in the future (although not a necessity) I need to be able to use my H100i It's as quiet and pleasing to look at as the 350D is Given that I've done a pretty good job with the Para cable sleeving, I'd like to be able to see it! I know it's a lot to ask for, maybe a custome one would be better, bit it's worth a shot! Thanks in advance guys! Lewis

Hello people, I am intending to build a dual system to game and stream from the same tower, but i can't find a case to house the E-atx board i want and a M-atx or even a M-itx. So any help would be amazing. I would really like to stick with the E-atx but if needs must i could downsize to atx. Hello everyone ! So I got my PC about 5 months ago and just yesterday I noticed that while im gaming my PC case is getting warm. Its not getting too hot, more like if you hold a coin in your arm for about 5 minutes. My case is the Segotep Legend C2 (M-ATX) and here are the components inside: Motherboard : ASUS PRIME A320M-K GPU:PNY Geforce 1060 6GB CPU: Ryzen 5 2600x RAM 8 GB single stick GOODRAM 2300mhz (or something like that, I don't quite remember) Case fans: both 120 mm fans. One in the lower front of the case and one in the back. (the ones that came with my PC case) I just want to know is it normal for the case to warm up like that ? I have tested this by playing some Shadow Warrior 2 1080p all settings maxed out and my GPU temperature does not exceed 77 degrees. Also CPU temps are in the normal but I want to know if my PC might overheat by leaving this problem unchecked. I will most likely invest in different case fans, as I am now using the 2 fans that came with my PC case.

So I will be getting a rtx 2080 gpu with an i5 8400, but then I wanted a portable PC so I looked up some mini towers. Q300P looked good, has good reviews, and one youtuber (pccentric) even made a balls to the walls high end pc with an i7 8700 and ml240 liquid cooler and SLI 1070ti founders edition, although he did use new and better case fans. He didn't talk about temperature though. So, it is confirmed that 2080 will have a tdp of 280 watts, that's 100 more than a 1070ti, which means that it will be a lot hotter than a 1070ti. So if I were to use an AIB custom rtx 2080 in a mini tower case q300p specifically), will it run hotter than running it in a masterbox mb500 mid tower with the same number of fans?

I am going to build a mineral oil pc and was looking for a M-ATX motherboard comparable to the Asus Z170-Deluxe. Color scheme is not the biggest factor, however it would be awesome if it was within the white and black color scheme (like the Z170-deluxe). I will be using an Intel i7 6700k and a Saphire R9 390 Nitro. I want a motherboard that is fully featured and price is not a problem. I am willing to drop anything below $300, as the Z170-Deluxe costs even a bit more than that.

Hey guys, After about a year and a half of my Air 240, ive noticed its starting to frustrate me with getting dirty easily, and filters being a bitch to clean. I was wondering whats some other micro-ATX options out there which are kinda small. My current rig is in my signature if you wanted to know what kinda components id need to fit (most notably G1 gaming 970) Anything cool you guys would suggest?

I want a Micro-ATX case for a HTPC, I need a DVD drive expansion bay and at least 2 3.5" HDD bays. As this is a low power system and an old pc I have a GT 610 which can be fitted into small form factor cases and it needs to have normal atx PSU support, Its a tough one i know. If you have any suggestions add them below and i will cehck them out! thanks for reading!.

Ok so i am looking for something so specific i have a hard time beliving it would exist but here is what i NEED: socket 1150 Z97 chipset top or bottom slot graphics card, dosent matter one full PCI slot that wont be coverd with a dual slot graphics card one of those small PCI slots that wont be coverd by a dual slot graphics card thats what i NEED, i want to size down my current system to fit an old server case i have and it only takes M-ATX motherboards so thats why i made this thread, also i have literally given up on price so if someone just finds exactly this i will just go cry, then save up and probably get it after the summer or something... thanks for any help and any replies

Hi guys, im in search of a compact m-ATX Case, like the title says. It shouldnt be a standart ATX case, except you bring up good reasons why i should take it. Furthermore at least one opticaldrivebay should be available. For storage i am running two SSDs so that shouldnt be a problem and for a graphics card i got a 960 G1 Gaming wich is pretty long (15,9" / 38.1cm). The budget is 100 euros/110$ If you could find a case that fits my needs i would be so thankful

Today Corsair has announced the Corsair Carbide 88R. It is a micro ATX case similar to the 100R. The front and top support 2x120mm fans and the rear supports a 120mm fan. There are 2x 2.5 inch bays and 2 3.5 inch drive bays and a 5.25 inch bay. The front has a USB 2.0 port, USB 2.0, headphone and mic port and power and reset switch. There are cable mangement features in the back with zip tie downs.

Ok so here is the deal, i want to fit my current PC in an old M-ATX server case that i have lying around, mostly because its wierd and because my current case is huge, has no cable management and is rather naf, not that the server case dosent tick all these boxes but i might spray paint it pink or something to make it look odder specs: CPU: I5 4690K GPU: Gigabyte G1 GTX 970 Gaming RAM: 2x8GB 1866Mhz HyperX Red PSU: EVGA Supernova 650 G2(650W) MOTHERBOARD: ASRock Z97 anniversary CPU COOLER: beQuiet Shadow Rock 2 STORAGE: 1x64gb Adata SSD, 1x1TB 7200rpm Toshiba HDD SOUND CARD: Creative SoundBlaster ZS platinum eX(sound card and 3.25" expantion) WIFI CARD: TP-link TL-WN881ND So i need to fit that on a M-ATX board, and for cheap, i have $60 right now to spend on this and i would like to not spend all of that, if there isnt a less then $60 option then just sugest something that would work and i will see what i can do about the budget Thanks for any replies and any help

1. Does old games fail on a AMD GPU? (someone I know told me that and 1 game I seen there was glitches but it was patched) 2. Can it be SAFELY used in a M-ATX case with a 80mm case fan ONLY?! (also should this fan blow or suck?) REAR FAN! 3. I did come to the conclusion most Linux games are "playable" but the ones I need good FPS at I know runs fine thanks to Phoronix but the thing is games such as Cities Skyline, Robocraft & Warthunder will they even boot? (Bioshock Infinite(poorly probably but playable, Metro Redux(3 FPS behind Windows...) & Valve games I know runs at over 100 FPS... (can be fixed to 150 FPS by renaming the run file to hl2_linux). This made me come to the conclusion that yes AMD fixed their Linux drivers but has yet to add optimization for each game... 4. Is the driver still as bad on DX11 games as they was last year? Much bad about it and I do no expect dying light to be fixed and I wont even touch that game! NEVER EVER I SEEN THE RESULT ON YOUTUBE!!! (any AMD part and failure...) 5. DX12 will make it awesome?

So i have all ready cheapo DDR3 ram 8gb and SSD. But i need other part's. And i don't know what to get? So it doesn't matter. Are they AMD or Intel. But some good solid performance i look for. Also want m-ATX case.

Ok i need a small M-ATX case, the smaller the beter aslong as it fits a 750TI in it it should be fine, i have no special cooling or anything, the smaller and lighter the beter and preferably not to expensive. dont care about budget for your sugestions i just need to be able to cary this PC aroud some.
