So, what is your opinion on the Kaby Lake microarchitecture, do you think it's worth and upgrade from last year's Skylake? Personally, I would get a Kaby Lake CPU only if I was building a system entirely from scratch, the performance improvements is simply too little to justify an upgrade from a Skylake CPU in my opinion.

Hi I am building PC and i am planing to put there G4560. I was just wondering, if i should go with B250 or B150 mobo. B150 is roughly $20 cheaper than B250 in my regieon and since i am on tight budged i would like to seve as much as possible. Are there even some noticeable benefits?

So I've spent many hours and through fine tuning ive got my i7-7700K stable at 5.2GHz at just 1.400v and a -2 AVX offset. It runs Prime95 v26.6 Small FFTs for hours on end at its full 5.0GHz. Temps about 75c max from that. It also runs Prime95 v28.10 Small FFTs at its 5.0GHz offset setting (AVX offset ftw). Temps about 80c max from that. It runs games fine for hours on end.. It runs both prime95's together at the same time at 5.0ghz, happily, for hours. It runs games and prime95s together, happily, though it feels sluggish (no suprise tho). Yet as soon as i load up chrome alongside prime95 the system freezes. I can push up to 1.425v and still the same freeze then some whea uncorrectable or watchdog timeout.. What is wrong?

Intel has just launched their Xeon processors based on the Kaby Lake architecture. These new cpus will be their Xeon E3 12xx v6 line up and there will be 8 skus. Stock clock speed ranges from 3Ghz to 3.9GHz and Turbo boost ranges from 3.5GHz to 4.2GHz. This give about 300MHz to 500MHz in turbo boost clocks, depending on the sku you choose from. Out of the 8 cpus, 2 of them will not have Hyper Thread, and 3 of them will have integrated graphics. TDP between those with integrated graphics and no integrated graphics is just 1w, where igpus have a TDP of 73W and non-igpus have a TDP of 72W. All of them will support features like ECC, vPro, and SGX, as well come with 8MB of L3 cache, and price ranges from $193 to $612 dollars. Similar to their Xeon Skylakes, these cpus will only work on workstation/server based chipsets, that's the C232 and C236. Intel has no plans to make new chipsets for these cpus, so any boards that wants to run a Kaby Lake Xeon, must have the latest bios update, and these is also support for Intel Optane Technology. On the consumer side, Intel Optane, only works on the new 200 series based chipset with KabyLake. On the workstation/server side, with a Kaby Lake Xeon, Intel Optane is supported on the existing C232 and C236 chipset, that was first introduced with Skylake. Intel Optane will be on selected Kaby Lake system configurations, and may only be provided on a OEM basis. http://www.anandtech.com/show/11232/intel-launches-xeon-e3-1200-v6-family Chipset comparison between C236, Z170, and Z270. C236 = Z170 with support for Intel Optane. Z270 = support for Optane on consumer Kaby Lake cpus. http://ark.intel.com/compare/90594,90591,98089

I recently got an i7 7700k to replace my 4790k that died. I have a corsair h100i v2 240 cooler. I am able to get the CPU up to 4.8Ghz at 1.2, and never see 90 degrees Celsius. Should I push for more, or should that be the limit?

So i just faced this question a long time ago and just kept on getting evidence one is that COFFEE LAKE Processors were rushed into market due to AMD's rise back but what my point is do you think intel lost their magic with great and innovative cpu's i want to get your opinion if what intel did was a great move or just to get another cpu out their to compete with ryzen

Hey guys, im planning on building a PC for music production. My current setup consists of a sky lake i7 laptop with 16gb Ram. This laptop can’t handle the softwares now. Should I build the PC on ryzen 1700x or should I go for the i7 8700k or 7800x.

Hello! Okay so these are my system specs atm: CPU: i7 4790K (Not overclocked atm) MB: MSI Z97I AC Mini ITX RAM: 8GB 16000MHz Corsair Vengence HDD: WD 1TB Blue I want to upgrade to a M.2 SSD on the board as it's faster than a SSD can be but would need to change my board to the ASRock Z97E-ITX http://www.asrock.com/mb/intel/z97e-itxac/ OR Should I take this opportunity to upgrade to a i5 from Kaby Lake (as that's what I would be able to afford) or should I stick with my current build? TLDR: My options are: 1) Keep system as is and add a SATA SSD 2) Upgrade my MB and get a M.2 SSD 3) Replace CPU, RAM and MB and add a M.2 SSD? Thanks!

Introduction of Speed Shift v2. CPU reaches peak performance 10-15 milliseconds vs 30 milliseconds on Skylake Intel updates OPI 2.0 to OPI 3.0 Current Skylake NUC M.2 runs at x4 Gen 2, even though it supports x4 Gen 3 It's limited to that for stability reasons A bios updated has been released to fix that, but only limited to just a specific PC Vendor Rest of NUC builders are on their own Kaby Lake will run M.2 at x4 Gen 3, except for Core i3 7100U Y will get 10 gen 3 lanes and U will get 12 gen 3 lanes http://www.anandtech.com/show/10959/intel-launches-7th-generation-kaby-lake-i7-7700k-i5-7600k-i3-7350k

Hi all, I currently run an i7 920 overclocked at 4GHz so am way behind in technology. I have decided to wait for AMD Zen (Rysen) before deciding which CPU to go with because it looks promising so far. However, I heard they are only going to be supported by Windows 10? Is this true? If so, why? I like Windows 7 and would prefer to keep it over 10.

Asrock motherboards for Intel Kaby Lake processors that runs on socket 1151, same as current Skylake but with a brand new chipset. The boards still comes with your typical gigabit lan, onboard audio, video outputs, USBs, etc. And most importantly Aura RGB lighting! Some models will have more power phases like 12 compare to the rest, support for SLI, CFX, and memory can reach up to DDR4 3866 (oc). http://videocardz.com/64799/kaby-lake-stuff

Hello. This might have been seen around here before now, but what is the best to really get? Kaby or Sky Lake? Myself have been pondering as I still run a 1155-socket, I'am saving some but I found out that Kaby Lake now is about 50 euros cheaper that Sky Lake at a store here I found in Sweden, as I only gonna buy Motherboard, CPU and RAM. But the motherboard is my main interest there, as I was looking at the TUF Z170 and now the Z270, not sure but I look at the Z170 and I just seem to be more impressed with the older one than the newer one, not sure if it is because the small hidden cute fan or not.

( THIS THREAD IS FOR i7 7700k, THE NEXT DAY AFTER CREATING THIS THREAD, NCIX LEAKED 7600k TOO! CHECK MY OTHER THREAD FOR THAT! ) Okey guys, I've caught NCIX leaking the 1000 series, and now guess what? Yes, as you probably have read in the title, the 7700k is out on NCIX's page. The starting price is $538 CAD ( $400 USD). The i7-7700k is clocked at 4.5 Ghz and is with 8 M cache. Oh you dont believe me do you? You want some sauc *hmhm* I mean source? Well I've attached a picture of it. Also, what do you think of the price? PS: Sorry for my bad english, I'm from Denmark. It's like my 4th language. Also, it says "Usually available in 5-10 days". Do you think this might be the release date, or do you think it's at CES 2017?

HELP! So i am planning to upgrade my pc in the next month or so and need desperate help with what to go with. my first question is if i should get a i7 8700k or 7700k, if i was to go with 7800k i would need to upgrade my motherboard as well so feel free to link one of those if there is a certain one that would benefit me.(it needs to be mATX). my second question if is should get a GTX1060 6gb or wait to see what Nvidia comes out with the 1100 / 2000 line up (please consider the wait until they come out with the new line up). please keep in mind i am trying to find my best value for money so dont go recommending a i9 7980xe and a GTX 1080TI (insert laughing emoji here) Thanks in advance for your help, anything is appreciated.

I guess they do have sufficient yield to ship some lower volumes of parts. Will be interesting to see the IPC and efficiency gains of the 10nm process. AFAIK these will be the same gains we see in the mainstream and high end parts when they do start to ship.

Hi, So recently I've been getting into overclocking cause my CPU (i7-8700k is liquid cooled, not delided). I followed a guide online and pushed the CPU to 5Ghz following the 1.35V was according to some Forums a decent voltage, however, I've switched off all of my CPU and Memory overclocks (my GPU is still clocked, it's a 1080ti at 2088Mhz). The problem I'm running into is whenever I start my PC with any settings (from my testing) changed in the BIOS as soon as I press the power button everything lights up for approx 0.5 seconds, switches off then back on again and it loads perfectly fine. I have no idea why this is happening and if it should be happening at all, if I turn everything back to default it starts normally without a hitch. Leading onto my other question: the recommend voltage for 5Ghz is apparently 1.35V (I don't know if this is false or not), however, leaving the voltage settings on Auto in the BIOS, when I check CPU-Z and Corsair Link (they show similar results within 0.001 of each other) they're both hanging around 1.392 to 1.4v range, this is higher than what I've seen is needed for 5Ghz, is that right? Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Hi Guys! My Friend's PC's problem is the following: Just upgraded CPU, MOBO, got new RAM, and changed PSU. After a complete Windows 10 reinstall his overall experience was worse. He plays Rainbow Six Siege and his FPS varies between 90-110 all the time, no matter what settings or resolution is on. (For example 480p@minimum 100 fps 4k@minimum 80 fps) His only weaker component is the 8GB RAM , but he says it's not fully utilized (~55% 4.4/8GB Teamspeak, Chrome with few tabs, and the game opened) What could the problem be? Is it software or hardware problem? Hey everyone, I just recently upgraded my computer and when I did I got an MSi Z370 Gaming Carbon Pro AC. The motherboard worked at first but then I started having issues where Mystic Light was taking control of one of my dimms and would not allow me to do anytbing with it. Next I noticed that I was missing a drive, did some trouble shooting and Sata 1 is dead. So now I am going to send it back and get a refund for it. In the mean time I am going to order a new board. What I need help with is finding one that is compatible with all of my components. The main thing is I need to have no issues with my 32gb of Trident Z RGB ram and I would like a decent selection of IO on the rear aswell as RGB on the motherboard itself, the MSi had 7 USB ports on the rear and I'd like to stay around that amount. Also I want to get a good brand that will not have problems like my MSi did not that that was just an anomaly. So I have looked at the Aorus Gaming 7, and the Asus ROG Maximus X. Any other suggestions are welcome and input is greatly appreciated Aorus link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075KFX627/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Az7jAbS9EYBKY Asus link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075RJ944T/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_dN7jAbHD7MY29
