MemTest86-20240424-143813.logMemTest86-Report-20240424-144026.htmlDIMMResults-20240424-190015.bmpThis post is a follow-up to this "How to Solve Kernel Powerl Failure / Event ID 41 permanently?" _ So, since I couldn't fully identify the cause behind it, I thought that the motherboard may be at fault because it couldn't deliver power efficiently; I took the entire PC setup except for the monitor and other peripherals to Asus's service center in April 1st and had them diagnose the PC. I described the entire thing to them and they told me it would take probably more than 2 weeks to diagnose since the problem requires each component to be tested individually. After 4-5 days of testing, they found an issue with the SSD and told me to replace it and replacing the SSD would fix it. I brought the PC home and at the time, I didn't have a new SSD so I ordered a new one and in the meantime, I installed Windows on my HDD. During that time, I still got the "Kernel Power / Even ID 41"!!! Can you believe it! This was a week or 10 days after I bought the PC home. I think Asus just kept on testing components and they probably started with the SSD and found error and just stopped testing other components. . When I brought the PC home and I tried booting up with the Faulty SSD connected; but the BIOS couldn't detect the SSD at all. So my guess is, either they somehow damaged it during the test or it died during the test. I need to clarify one thing here about the ASUS Service Center. Asus operates officially in my country. There are Asus Experience Centers throughout the country. But there are no Asus engineers from abroad like Canada or USA. The brand trained engineers from its official distributor. If you search Asus's website for service center locations in my country, the service centers of the distributor come up with their name on it but not like "Asus Service Center" rather "ABC Service Center" shows up. Therefore, I was a bit skeptical about how thoroughly they would actually do the whole test, so my guess is they didn't do their job properly even though their work reflects Asus's brand value and customer experience quality. If you even search their engineer's mobile number on WhatsApp, it shows Asus ROG's Logo. So they are the "official engineers of Asus Brand" or so to speak. I am not sure how things work in the USA and other countries. . Anyway, the SSD had run fine on my end since 2020 and crystaldisk or Hdd sentinel never showed any error when I was running it for the past years. At the moment, I am running Lexar NM620 256GB SSD and the error has appeared twice so far after the installation of the new SSD and 2 more times while the OS was on the HDD. A screenshot of this log is attached (only post-new SSD period). . So my current guess is that maybe the RAM is faulty and I need to do a thorough test. I have already run a Memtest86 on one of my 16GB kits. I had reverted to the default settings from BIOS before doing that. I had updated my BIOS to the latest version. The app had a 4-pass test settings set by default and I got a pass on that. One more stick of 16GB needs to be tested. Now, after doing the test on one stick, I searched on the internet and found many users reporting zero errors on one software while hundreds of errors on another software. Furthermore, on Memtest86, one user got no error on Pass-1 but got errors on Pass-2 and mine got zero error on all. So, I have a few questions. . 1) How accurate are these tests? 2) How many passes should I set to get a thorough result on Memtest86? 3) Should I use multiple software and run tests on all of them? 4) Should I test one RAM on all slots and do the other RAM like this too? Could the slots be faulty as well? 5) Should I also test using Windows Memory Diagnosis? Because that takes way too long, and Memtest86 took 4 hours+ for one 16GB stick. I don't mind the time but it is a bit tedious tbh. But, I aim to get a thorough result. So, should I?

I've had this issue for a year now since i got the computer it would sometimes go away for days but it came back again. My pc would randomly shut down with NO BSOD and NO MINIDUMP. All connected devices turn off and the screen shows no display while fans are running and i have to flip the switch on the psu to turn the pc on again. It would often happen while launching a game. Things i've tried -all the basic fixes from youtube -tests like furmark/memtest/occt -updating/deleting useless drivers with DDU -tweaking bios settings -turning off fast boot -tweaking windows power settings -numerous scans -sending back the power supply to the manufacturer just to hear "we ran a diagnosis and nothing was wrong with it" after 45 days -updating bios and downloading everything motherboard related -turning off c states -turning off xmp When i tried OCCT tests: -CPU test would shut down pc after around 15-20 seconds -linpack test would shut down the pc instantly -Power test can run for minutes before a shut down- -GPU and memory tests didnt get any problems Pc specs: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X MSI MPG A750GF 750W 80 Plus Gold Gigabyte B550 GAMING X V2 SiletniumPC Ventum VT4 TG SiletniumPC Fera 5 120mm GOODRAM 16GB (2x8GB) 3600MHz CL18 IRDM PRO Deep Black Inno3D GeForce RTX 3070 Ti X3 LHR 8GB GDDR6X WD 1TB M.2 PCIe NVMe Blue SN570 Crucial BX500 480GB 2TB HDD

Hi, I was hoping to get some help with recurring crashes I'm having. The crashes happen when I'm gaming, and when it happens the screen turns off and the fans start blazing. The fans continue blowing untill I turn off the pc. Windows crash report gives a general Kernel Power Error 41, and the log from HWinfo64 don't show any irregularities (as far as I can see). All drivers are up to date. Hi guys, I've recently upgraded my build by buying mobo, CPU, GPU, and ram. I had an Intel Core i5 4670 and now I have a Ryzen 7 3800xt. This is my current build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/PWKqQD I made this upgrade in December so some months have passed now. I sometimes experience sudden random hard reboots that are independent of the workload. They do not happen very often, like once every two weeks. When this happens the windows event viewer lists an Kernel-Power critical event with ID 41. Sometimes they happen while I'm on Discord and other times they happen after a 3 hours session on COD. I can't manage to figure out what could be the cause... My cooler with push/pull configuration manages to keep the CPU at about 68-69 degrees while gaming even after many hours (even while rendering a long AE project the temperatures don't change much). I keep my power plug connected with a wattage meter but I've never had problems before. So what could be the cause?? Thanks in advance EDIT: I remembered I'm currently using the 1216 Beta Bios. Could It be the cause?

I ask this on behalve of a friend of mine. He often has a BSOD with error code 'watchdog violation', this only happens when he is screensharing on Discord. Second, sometimes his computer crashes without BSOD, just black. If he looks in the Windows Logs -> System, it says (in both cases) Source: 'Kernel-Power' ID: 41 (hope you understand). Drivers are updated. He has the PC and monitor connected to a partly rolled up reel. Hello, as title says I have problem with Kernel Power. I have no idea why. It happens randomly. Mostly when changing windows by alt + tab. I have some apps opened. Few browser cards, VSCode, Sporify and few more. The last time it happened when i alt tabbed to browser from World of Tanks and opened messenger from Opera's side panel. In background were discord and spotify. No bluescreen. Computer just weirdly freezes. Apps are not respondig. But i could click some things. Also i was hearing audio from discord but they couldn't hear me. I have no clue what can be happening. Tried some advices from google but didn't help. Can it be caused by latest windows update? Hey all, I have this problem for like two months and tried many different ways to fix it. I also searched in many forums for it but i didn´t find a working fix for me. My self built PC is 3 years old but I haven´t had any serious problem like this before. The PC is restarting completely random without a warning or even a blue screen. I get a Blackscreen, all of the PC lights turn off and a second later it reboots normally. This happend even when I started my Pc first for the day and got to my desktop. The event viewer shows "Kernel Power 41: The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly". One day on of my Ram didn´t light up after random restart, and when I turn my PC off and then back on it lighted up again. Things I tried: -turning off fast boot -turning off Windows automatic restart -updating all my drivers (no updates found) -buying a new Power supply -Windows Ram test -reinstalling graphics driver -plug out and in the ram as well as the graphics card -testing all my storage with samsung magican and windows tool -Updating Bios -Cinebench R23 CPU Multicore and Single Core Nothing I tried fixed it... I've build my first pc a month ago. It posted, it's working, the temps are not bad. I've been using almost arounnd the clock for the past weeks. However, I keep getting the same Kernel Power 41 (63). It is not a blue screen, the computer just shuts down. It sometimes happens when opening or closing a game. Weirdly, never while playing games, I've spent hours playing and it went fine. It also happened a couple of times while using adobe software. Now, I've done my research and tried a bunch of stuff, and while the frequency of the error diminished, it is still happening. Things I've tried: Resetting the Ram Updating the BIOS and drivers Formatting the PC Disabling XMP Disabling Fast Startup Power settings set to high performance (Hard Drive Shut down never) Disabling duplicate audio drivers Aida 64 Stress Test (It all went fine, temps were good and the PC did not shut down) Change one BIOS setting to typical current idle Tested the system ssd with samsung's own software and it was ok Resetting all the power supply cables I know that it might be the power supply being insufficient, but I do not think that's the case. I've had this issue since i bought this computer (brand new) around 6 months ago and never could fix it. It happens mostly in games but also outside of them (though less often) When it crashes the pc stays on and the fans keep spinning but there is no display and all the connected devices like keyboard/mouse turn off, you have to cut all the power away/turn off the psu for around 10 seconds to turn it on again. There is no blue screen. Things i've tried -all the fixes from youtube -tests like furmark/memtest -updating/deleting useless drivers -tweaking bios settings -turning off fast boot -tweaking windows power settings -numerous scans -sending back the power supply to the manufacturer just to hear "we ran a diagnosis and nothing was wrong with it" after 45 days -updating bios and downloading everything motherboard related -uninstalling all programs like nvidia experience, razer synapse itd... I've really tried everything i found and nothing fully stopped though some things made it crash slightly less often. Hello I need help because I recently built a PC, I installed Windows 10 and all the necessary drivers. When I ran the benchmark it went and when the 3D graphics test came and my pc unexpectedly shut down, I tried to run the benchmark 3 times and it always turned off during the same graphics test. I tried to play the game WoT and it also turned off the pc. It's interesting that the temperature values are normal when loading Wot. While rendering and loading the Game, I noticed that the GPU fan goes terribly fast and then, as I wrote, the PC shuts down. I don't know if the source is a PSU, probably not because the source has 2 days and has 650w, which should be enough. I NEED HELP . Hi, Since I built my new pc (parts listed at the end of the post) I have been experiencing a critical problem that freezes my pc. The event log refers it by "kernel power 41 (63)". It can't be a virus since I've formatted my pc several times and spybot cannot recognize any problems. I have tried updating some drivers, updating my bios, disabling my OC and running a test on my RAM. I have only recognized one pattern: This problem occurs while playing games for excess amounts of time (so far only CSGO, PUBG or Fortnite) Usually the information displayed about this event is such: - System - Provider [ Name] Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Power [ Guid] {331C3B3A-2005-44C2-AC5E-77220C37D6B4} EventID 41 Version 6 Level 1 Task 63 Opcode 0 Keywords 0x8000400000000002 - TimeCreated [ SystemTime] 2018-03-11T20:05:25.227863700Z EventRecordID 6537 Correlation - Execution [ ProcessID] 4 [ ThreadID] 8 Channel System Computer DESKTOP-ARBPR23 - Security [ UserID] S-1-5-18 - EventData BugcheckCode 0 BugcheckParameter1 0x0 BugcheckParameter2 0x0 BugcheckParameter3 0x0 BugcheckParameter4 0x0 SleepInProgress 0 PowerButtonTimestamp 0 BootAppStatus 0 Checkpoint 0 ConnectedStandbyInProgress false SystemSleepTransitionsToOn 0 CsEntryScenarioInstanceId 0 BugcheckInfoFromEFI true CheckpointStatus 0 However yesterday after updating my bios I got a "new" kernel power 41 while idle. Okay so my PC is about to go out the window. I recently upgraded my PC with a bunch of new stuff, more RAM, new storage, new PSU, new CPU and it's never performed better EXCEPT for this great meme it does where it turns off and on at random, just as though someone pulled the power cable out and jammmed it back in again within 3-4 seconds. I've been having this issue on and off for a few weeks now and I cant get it to replicate on any cue, its not heat related as far as I know, my power supply is brand new and I've even tried changing the power board it's plugged into in case it was just an issue with power surging or something. The only recorded error code I get is an ominous "Kernel Power 41". I disabled Windows' ability to restart the PC by itself so I dont think it's a software problem. Does this sound like a busted motherboard? Specs: Mobo - ASRock b360M Pro4 CPU - Intel i7 9700 @ 3ghz RAM - 4x8gb DDR4 Dual Channel HyperX GPU - Nvidi gtx 1060 6gb Storage - Samsung 970 Evo Plus nvme m.2 - 500gb PSU - Some bronze standard 750 watt Cooler Master one, I threw out the box, sorry I really just want to be able to use my PC without worrying about it crashing and wiping my progress in work or games for no discernable reason, its so frustrating. Edit: I've tried a few of the standard things, scanned for viruses, checked core temps during high octane activities (like playing RDR2 lmao) and I've now disabled the disk turn off feature in my power settings, cant figure ANYTHING out, the crashes can be hours, minutes or WEEKS apart.

So this has been bugging me for a while now. Whenever I turn on my system, it'll be perfectly fine for ~ 2-5 minutes. Then it'll reset without warning. No BSOD. Just hard reset. Fans and leds turn off and it reboots. Sometimes my motherboard will load up an error and say something I've done in the BIOS could have caused the error and it recommends me to restore the BIOS settings to default. Well, even on default settings (as much as I can - I need RAID enabled to get my system to boot), it still crashes. No CPU overclock or XMP profiles. What's strange is that it'll only ever crash once. I just need my computer to sit off for about an hour or so and then the error will happen again. But as long as I leave it on when it comes back (even resetting my computer won't trigger it again) I won't encounter this problem. I thought possibly my mess of cables were causing something so I went in and completely re-cable managed my entire computer. It seemed like it was having a harder time then before for a while but it's back to the normal crash and then it's fine. Now my question is, how should I go about fixing this? Should I buy a new 24 pin and see that? Is there something I can check? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Also before anyone asks, CPU and GPU temps seem fine.

This is all mostly just conjecture and a theory at this point, but it seems to make sense at this time. For the past six months ,and perhaps coincidentally ever since we had some work done on the house, I have been suffering with kernel power failures on my machines. Initially it was on my late 2012 iMac that I had owned for a year, and other than having its screen replaced due to ghosting, it ran fine. I was convinced at the time that the iMac was malfunctioning, as it would shut down on both sides of my partition on Windows and OSX, almost always during high power consumption GPU tasks like video editing and playing games. At the time I never considered that it could be anything other than the Mac that was at fault. On sending the iMac in twice for assessment by Apple, they couldnt find anything wrong with it, and it never suffered any power failures when it was in their care. Due to my persistence the engineers decided to replace the logic board, I guess as a kind of fail safe fix. This obviously did nothing and I was suffering power failures soon after I got it back. I then put in for a complete replacement, and got one through Applecare that immediately went on ebay. I sold it and set out to build my own machine. Specs: i7 5820k H100i MSI X99 SLI Plus 16gb Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR4 EVGA GTX 980 SC ACX 2.0 Corsair RM750 80+ Gold I built this machine about two weeks ago and up until a few days ago it worked great, but over the last few days it has started to act exactly the same as the iMac did, shutting itself off when playing games, particularly World of Tanks, and Skyrim. This started to make me consider the possibility of the issue being with the power outlet or the mains supply. This could just be a coincidence but the power failures almost exclusively occur in the afternoon/evening. When power consumption in the household and neighborhood are much higher than during the earlier hours. My iMac would work flawlessly during the day time and only start to malfunction later on in the evening. The actual mechanics of the shut down are this: With the iMac it would simply go black, my external monitor would remain on, and nothing else in the room would lose power. I would then have to turn the plug physically off at the switch for several seconds, and then on again for the machine to work. I had tried a few different plugs. With the new machine both monitors go black, but due to my case having a windowed side I can see that none of the components have turned off due to all of the L.E.D's remaining turned on. They dont appear to flicker. Sometimes the machine will reboot, other times it remains blank and I will have to physically press the reset button. I have tried several plugs including routing an extension from another room, neither of which seemed to make any difference. At this point I am considering buying a UPS as a fix, I know I should probably have one already but up until now it seemed like an unnecessary expenditure. Or could the problem simply be a coincidence and it is my hardware that is at fault? Any advice would be absolutely amazing at this point as I am only a amateur and don't have much technical knowledge at all. Thanks for reading Joshua
