Hey guys, I don't know if this is intentional but it looks like the only option on the LTT Store is UPS Worldwide Expedited. I live in Ireland and thought the constellation shirt looks pretty good. Unfortunately the shipping to Waterford City in the Republic of Ireland seems pretty steep for a t-shirt. (See screenshot) I don't exactly need expedited shipping and would be more than happy if I had to wait a number of weeks for it to arrive. Is non-expedited shipping something that is being considered for worldwide destinations? I am signed up to a service here in Ireland where the post office supplies us with a US address who can forward post to Ireland for cheap enough, but I don't think they take registered post and they're a tad unreliable, so I would rather go direct if it is possible. Thanks in advance to anyone who can shine some light on this. - Isaac

Budget (including currency): About €1,500.00 Country: Ireland Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 1080p gaming. Warhammer 1-3, LOL, Star Wars Battlefront 2, then mainly retro games (5 year old+) . Other details Would be grateful for any feedback particularly graphics cards? Should I get a) get a stopgap say 2gb until things calm down/get by with the i5 processors built in video card and get a 8gb when things calm down b) get a 4gb from Germany/France for €200-300 (tariffs too high from UK suppliers) Knowledge wouldn't be great but have done a bit of research the last few weeks. Parts in Ireland seem to be particularly expensive when compared elsewhere. Went with a few things slightly higher than required such as PSU and Mobo for re use in potential upgrades. Budget (including currency): €2400 Country: Ireland Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mainly gaming, small amount of industrial automation coding (PLC and HMI). Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Been out of the PC Gaming scene for a long number of years, been console-only since the PS2 released. Haven't built a PC since AGP and round IDE cables were cool and PCIe was in it's infancy. I'm old enough that my first PC build had a NIC with an IPX connection and it was a BIG deal when I got 500Mb HDD to add to my system! Have a PS5 but would like a decent PC that will mainly run 4X strategy like Stellaris, city-building like Cities Skylines and the odd AAA title that isn't on PS5. I will be connecting the PC to an existing 4k so I'm not terribly worried about FPS or resolution yet but am giving myself that option if I decide to get dedicated gaming monitors in the future. I'll be using some e-waste grade peripherals to start with but I'm open to suggestions. I have a Corsair K63 Lapboard that I was using to rest a HOTAS on while sitting on the couch so I was thinking of getting the K63 keyboard to go with that. I plan to sit on the couch while gaming. Won't be building until later in the year around September/October so hopefully GPU prices will be low enough to go with the RTX 3080 but my plan B is an RTX 3070 ti, was looking at the EVGA FTW3 version for that. Also looking for suggestions on stores to buy from in Europe that deliver to Ireland so far I only have: www.caseking.de www.amazon.de But was leaning towards CaseKing for ease of warranty. Would have gone with UK stores but, you know, Brexit happened so there's Import Duty on everything from the UK now. See what I have below so far: Thanks in advance for any feedback Edit: Apologies for the PCPartPicker list massacre. I need to return a power supply I ordered from Amazon.de from Ireland. The package is completely unopened and the Amazon will compensate me for however much it costs to send the return so that isn't an issue. What is an issue however is Ireland's stupid postage restrictions. Essentially I can pay however much it costs to not only send the power supply back in 1st class shipping and tracking and whatever else I can add on, however, if An Post (the name of Ireland's postal service and is seemingly my only option of sending anything to another country) scans/xrays/etc the package and finds it contains any form of batteries not only will they not ship it but it gets locked up in a warehouse up in Dublin and I would have to pay a fee to get it back. So I need to know, do Power Supplies for PCs contain any form of Batteries or are they actually batteries themselves, whether they are on a technical or legal definition? I am completely new to building PCs and buying and using PC parts so forgive me if my question is stupid but I just don't know and I don't want to take any risks that could cost me more money. Thank you.

Hello LTT forums, one time system builder here looking for your opinions on if/how I should upgrade my gaming rig. What I want to know from you fine people is will I see any issues with my current set up and only a graphics card update or is a larger revamp advisable? As the title says, but more specifically in Limerick or at least they deliver to Limerick. I'm trying to get something like RHA and SoundMAGIC stuff. Maybe even DUNU or 1MORE. Another question, does Amazon.UK deliver to the Republic of Ireland or do they surcharge much because UK isn't part of the EU?

Okay! So I'm going to be going on a two-week trip to the UK, spending most of my time in England, but also traveling to Ireland for the last leg of the journey. So I wanted to get an action camera that could record my daily activities, including hikes out in the country side and capturing footage of castles, but it needs to fit one more important purpose - catching my girlfriend's response when I propose to her at the Rock of Dunamase in Ireland. The weather in Ireland can change at the drop of a hat, and that means rain and hail. I need a camera that can handle catching video AND CLEAR AUDIO regardless of the weather. This unfortunately means no waterproof housing. I'm also concerned with battery life - I'm seeing that 2 hours is the cap on all decent rugged cameras, although some can have their life extended through external power supplies, such as USB battery packs. I know that having a charging port open might compromising weather-proofing, but I feel that I could engineer a solution that would do a decent job of sealing up that connection. But either way, with either extra batteries or a USB battery pack, I am going to have to prioritize audio quality with weather-resistance. I HAVE to capture her saying yes. I have narrowed my camera choices to the GoPro Hero5 Black, and the Olympus Tough TG-Tracker, although I am open to other suggestions. From my research, they are both decently weatherproof sans dive case(which in my mind means clear enough audio to capture voices), both record 4k video with image stabilization, and both can have extended battery life through a USB battery pack. Please correct me if I'm wrong, please offer suggestions! I have 9 months to collect the perfect camera. Thank you!

Planning to buy parts for a PC throughout this year, need opinions on the hardware Okay so, I'm planning on getting parts for a fully-fledged computer for myself, I will be purchasing all the parts hopefully this year. PCPartPicker Link : https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/HTM9TB I am going to explain why I chose all these parts, and if any of them seem questionable to you, please let me know. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Budget : Set on £700. Thats the max i'm willing to go. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CPU : Ryzen 3 1200 I chose this processor because of it's budget-oriented line-up. It doesn't bottleneck up any further than the 1060, and it has 4 Logical cores, which is perfect for me since I do photo editing and drawing with my Wacom Intuos Draw. I also do light video editing. Also, the 1200 overclocks pretty damm good, I will aim for 4 Ghz stable unless I get unlucky. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CPU Cooler : First off, I understand that the stock Ryzen coolers are pretty good, but I decided to go with the Cryorig C7 because of how small and aesthetically pleasing it looks. It is quiet at full load and is a fantastic cooler. ( I will get the AM4 Bracket to go along with it from their website ) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Motherboard : MSI B350 PC Mate ( AM4 Socket of course ) This motherboard pairs up with the 1200 Perfectly, it doesn't hold back in terms of overclocking, and I feel like it would be a suitable canditate for such a good processor. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Memory : Crucial 2x4 Gb DDR4 2400 Memory Now I really wanted a full black build, but getting 2x4 Kingston ram was too much for my budget, I will very likely switch to another ram whenever I have the oppurtunity. But for now, this memory is well, memory. It goes dual-channel which is good for me atleast and it will do me good, it's ram, what else can you really say? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Storage : Kingston 120 Gb 2.5" SSD & Seagate Barracuda 3.5" 7200 RPM Hard Drive I originally went with a 2 Tb SSHD, but I quickly learned that they...arent very "good" according to multiple other strangers on the internet... Anyways, the 120 Gb SSD Is going to be holding my OS And most of my games, probably about 3 Gb will directly be taken up because of osu!. I don't have many games at all, I only have Mark Of The Ninja, Dishonored and Osu! but I will likely get some more games in the future. The Hard Drive will hold maybe...more games? I will probably end up putting my recording software and drivers and stuff there, also I will put in all my drawing stuff. ( Since I have a Wacom Intuos Draw ) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GPU : Zotac GTX 1050 Ti Mini This Graphics Card, it just looks good, is small and compact and it performs well. What else can you really say? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Power Supply : Be Quiet! Pure Power 10 400W 80+ Silver and Semi-Modular This power supply outputs 400 Watts of continous power, which will be more than enough for overclocking everything, CPU, GPU and possibly the ram also. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Case : NZXT S340 It's a fabulous case, what else to say? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Monitor : AOC G2260VWQ6 21.5" 1920x1080 75hz Monitor I chose to get a new monitor because my current 1366x768 monitor only has VGA and DVI Connectors, and I don't want to buy a converter. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And that's it for my build, if you have any questions or issues regarding the build, please reply so that I can make this build even better in terms of efficiency and so on. Many thanks, - Wolf

Hi, I'm looking to build a ~900 euro PC in ireland sometime before the new year. I'd like to fit an i7 (6700k, 4770k or 4790k) and a GTX 1060/Rx 480 into my budget, but I've got no idea about the rest of the parts. I don't need storage beyond a 120Gb/60GB startup disk, and I'm willing to buy second hand. Any tips? Thanks

Alright so I'm from the UAE, going to visit Ireland, I'll be leaving Dubai's international Airport on the 29th and I'll arrive on the same day at noon. I have yet to plan anything to do there, I'll be staying for about a week, until Friday the 4th to be exact. I'll be staying in Dublin, I have no idea what to expect other than it being freezing cold, so are there anything so that I can do when I'm there? I'll be going there with 5 other people. P.S : I don't drink, I'm a Muslim lol

Hey again LTT chumps, another day, another question needs answering. So I live in Ireland and want to buy something listed on amazon UK, but the people who stock the item don't ship here. So, is there a good service that works like a once-off PO box that will receive the item (in the UK) and then ship it "normally" (royal mail type of thing) to my address? I have no friends in the UK who could do this for me. Thanks in advance.

If this is in the wrong section, I'll be damned. It's technically tech news. So, basically, a man from Ireland had a few drinks with his friends and decided how awesome it would be to build the house of the character Michael from Grand Theft Auto V. It's technically feasible, and the guy only wants 1.6M euros to do it. Thanks to @as96 LINK: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1511431587/michaels-house-from-gta5-real-life-build

Irish based Intel factory evacuated due to bomb threat.
dan8cat posted a topic in General Discussion
Intel had to evacuate its Irish based factory due to a credible bomb threat this morning. The police were called and all 4,000 employees were evacuated. Greetings ladies and gentlemen I came to you today to solve my existential crisis of choosing which PC to build. What I expect from my first gaming PC is for it to manage games such as LoL, WoW, Tomb Raider, Witcher 2, AC:3 maybe even GTA IV and whatever else pops up on Steam sales. I'm not looking for a gaming PC that runs Crisis 3 on Ultra settings at 60fps. No. I'm looking for a PC that will play the games on low to medium settings at a steady fps without any major hiccups. The budget I have set out for myself is 340 euro excluding the OS and storage because I have them. What I have come up with so far is http://de.pcpartpicker.com/p/fRFyQ7. I would love for you to have a look at the build and let me know if it's any good. Also if you have of your own ideas that you think are better than the build mentioned above, please do let me know. Thank you in advance. Much love, Redday.

This is what I'm currently planning to build(upgrade old PC): http://de.pcpartpicker.com/p/ty4yLk I was wondering if this setup will manage games and if it will be better than what I'm currently using: http://www.meetgadget.com/gadget/13087/Packard+Bell+iMedia+D2520 Also I wanted to know if this PC will be able to handle games like LoL(currently playing on lowest settings and windowed mode with 20fps), Witcher 2 and CS:GO. Aaaaand as a side note: is there a possibility of upgrading my old PC for under a 100 euro? Less than 100 euro would be super perfect. And also I live in Ireland if that's important. Cheers

Hi everyone, A friend has asked me to build a pc for him and I've never really been the best at picking parts. The guy has €1000 to spend and will be mainly used for gaming (BF4, Skyrim, some indie titles) and general use. I'm in Ireland so can only really buy from UK and Europe. My friend has never had a pc before so needs OS, but he already has peripherals. Any lists of parts within the budget would be greatly appreciated. Tks, Cian P.S. A small SSD would be a nice bonus in the price, and aesthetics will be valued.
