Hello! Im currently planning on building a decent budget gaming pc. I have a gtx 760 to use and I was thinking about the other parts what should I use etc? I know that the i5 4690k is a good combo with it but im also wondering in case that I get that cpu, what motherboard should I use etc. I want to have atleast 16gb ram (preferably ddr4). About 4 usb ports preferably 3.0, ethernet, hdmi, aswell as ports for headset and everything else that I might need for a gaming setup. Im not sure if anything of this will work out in the way I think of but thats why im here for. Thanks in advanced! //noviic_

Hey everyone, I recently setup an external GTX760 graphics card on my HP Envy 15 j0011 laptop for about $150.00. I did it with the help of the youtube video below...very helpful! I've got all the external components required, mounted on a board and attached to my AV cart below the top shelf. (See my pics below). I did it to achieve better video editing performance, as I'm not really a gamer. I've noticed a huge difference compared to the integrated "Intel HD 4000" video chip! If you have an old laptop and you don't want to spend lots of money to upgrade...I think it's worth doing. Just keep in mind the card is running on a single lane (1x) pci-e slot previously used by the wlan card, so you're not going to get desktop performance...but, still way better than the laptop's integrated video chip! My video showing egpu config. Current laptop components: i5-3230m processor 16GB ram 240 GB SSD 750 GB external HD via USB 3.0 Let me know if you have any questions! - Daren

So I wanted to dip my toes into pc games and stop using a 6 year old laptop to do everything and saw Linus' video on the $69 gaming pc. Since I don't play very demanding games, I thought why not do a similar thing, so I got an HP Z230 and a GTX760. Only to realise the PSU had no 6 pin connector. I looked online to see if there were any options and I saw a lot of people arguing over whether a Molex to 6 pin adapter was okay to use or not. I feel like since every combination of parts is going to work differently and I'd quite like my first pc "building" experience to not end in flames I'd ask here. Will a Molex to 6 pin PCIE adapter work, or will I have to get a new PSU and if so, what ones are good at not a very large price point? The one in there already seems to be a DPS-400AB-19 A (in case you can read random letters and numbers lol). Thank you in advance!

I believe that it's time, to consider upgrading my GPU. I am more than satisfied of the performance of my i7 3770 combined with a pair of GTX 760 OC Edition by Asus, I don't have problems maxing out like 95% of games and those I consider prio, WoW, Diablo 3, Starcraft, Overwatch, Civilization 6 are running perfectly. Even the latest still not optimized BF1, runs all ULTRA (with mem restriction on) and just post processing on medium (which isn't a big loss anyway on visual) runs at 60 fps stable most of the time (some huge explosion might drop it). My main issue is VRAM, 2GB nowadays are a drawback, even for 1080p. Games with good optimization and no need of more 2GB of VRAM run great but the biggest disappointment came with new Skyrim, if I had the 4GB version it would run perfectly. I have a restriction on GPU size, my Coolermaster Storm Scout (first gen) has a restriction of max GPU size of 27 cm. Surely I have options but also, after pointing which games I play, I don't wanna spend that much either. At first, I looked upon GTX 1060 6GB, by Asus. My concern is that the GTX 1060, ain't much better than the GTX 970 and my 2 GTX 760s perform better than the GTX 970 and in some cases, the "simple" GTX 980, in other words, the performance gain won't be impressive in most games. I also "fear" the fact that some of my friends who got 10xx series, have really bad performance on WoW, which is the game I play most. There is always the DX12 factor, I expect 10xx series performing better in the future than cards of my generation. So what do you guys think? Should I go straight to an GTX 1070, or just stay put for TI versions or price drops?

Hello, I am curious to know if windows 10 supports multiple GPUs of different models. My purpose is to have one GPU dedicated to gaming (GTX1080) and a secondary GPU dedicated to running two separate monitors. I'm wanting to do this so that the other two monitors aren't affecting the gameplay on my main monitor. Is this possible? I currently have a GTX1060 or GTX760 that I could throw in if this would actually work. Does anyone know if this can be done? I'd rather not take my PC apart again and try all this if it's not going to work anyway. Any help is appreciated. Thank you

Hi guys as you can see from the title I have a gtx 760 and I5 3450, I recently bought Forza Horizon 3 and I cannot run it at 1080p I am forced to run it at 1600x900 @30fps and low settings. So here is my question Personally I would upgrade my GPU to a rx 480 Nitro, would this be the best possible way of upgrading my system? I know my cpu doesnt really bottleneck but should I upgrade my cpu? new cpu or gpu? Thanks

I just upgraded/rebuilt my pc before I had an 8 core system with two e5420s I was inspired to use old server hardware by the 8 core gaming rig video that ltt put out. this was ok for CAD but it was a huge bottleneck in games and it took 200watts and made the room it was sitting in quite hot. so I bought a Lenovo m92p with an i5 3470 the motherboard was not standard so I built a wall mounted a case for it so I could put it above my head and also get better and quieter cooling. I am planning on upgrading my CPU cooler at some point (and yes I know my cable management sucks but I don't have a modular PSU) my specs are for anyone interested in building a budget pc here is my pricing breakdown GPU: MSI GTX 760 2gb $60 on Craigslist PSU: Evga 700b1 $50 (don't buy this get a modular PSU) SSD: Kingston 120gb $40 HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB $50 Lenovo pre built: $150 on Craigslist Lenovo to 24 pin PSU adapter: $6 Thermal paste: Coolermaster high-performance thermal paste $6 standoffs: $10 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GWF60AG/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 m3 screws: $6 my total cost was only $368 and it gets a score of 4828 in superposition on the 1080p medium preset if you have any questions or suggestions please post them below

I am piecing a new PC together and I know all the parts I want, I am going to buy everything besides the new GPU (MSI Armor 1080) and I want to know if the bottleneck from my OLD gpu will majorly bottleneck my i5-7600k My current GPU is a founders edition gtx 760. I am still going to buy the new gpu, I just have to wait longer to get it cause its 500 dollars and I need to save some more money. I just want to know how my pc will perform until I get the card. Wondering if I should wait till I also have enough for the gpu and then order all of it. Thoughts? Including the entire build parts list after I have all the parts, what my pc will be. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/tamamale/saved/fLnQVn

Bit of an odd one here, my main moniter uses a dvi to dvi cable, with no adapters to speak of. I installed a liquid cooler in my pc, and then my dvi monitor only showed static when booted up. I tried with my second monitor, using a vga cable with a dvi converter on the end, into the same dvi port on my GTX 760, and it worked fine. I tried the dvi monitor in both my dvi ports, and was greeted with the same static. At this point i decided to try and plug it into the dvi port on my server, where it worked completely fine. It seems as though i have ruled out all possible broken parts, but for whatever reason the combination of dvi cable and gtx 760 doesnt work, while vga-dvi adaptor and gtx 760 works, while dvi and eah5640 works as well.

Hi! A few months ago I left the glorious pc masterrace by selling my computer, for various reasons. Now, after roughly 6 months i want to rejoin, by building my first ever gaming pc, which happens to be a budget build. In this case i bought an i3 2120 CPU 8 Gb ddr4 Crucial ram an MSI H110M pro vd mbo and got a great deal for a Gainward GTX 760, for around 70$. Keep in mind, I live in Hungary, and whatever i buy for example on ebay or amazon, i'll most likely have to pay double the price of the item just for the shipping.. I combined these items by searching on the internet, watching benchmarks and learning how these stuff work with each other, it was a great trip. BUT! Theres the PSU... If you look at the GPU, you see that it needs 2 x 6 pin connectors. Idk why, but i can't find any PSU-s with 6 pins in Hungary. I will add some pictures of brand new PSU-s which say they have 0 6 pin connectors. They have molex connectors which you can use with an additional molex to 6 pin, but idk if its the right thing to do.. Anyways, i hope you can help me finish my build, and have a great day!

Hi there, I've been having some issues with my Gigabyte GTX760. It's a long story, but here's the summary: - Gigabyte GeForce GTX 760 OC 1150MHZ 2GB 6.0GHZ GDDR5 2xDVI HDMI DisplayPort PCI-E Video Card - GPU started acting up whenever not in a game/3d application - Green pixels scatter across the screen when not in a game - RMA my GPU to Gigabyte, comes back with "couldn't reproduce" - Thought it was my computer (motherboard?), build a brand new one, problem still exists (with the same GPU) Video of the issue (watch between 0:30 and 0:45) - https://vimeo.com/193085751 I'd like to stress the point that the card performs fine under load, no green pixels scattering on the screen. I can play games all day, and it wont crash or show these green pixels. Whenever I quit the full screen application/game and do some browsing or checkout steam, I see these green pixels scatter across the screen. I've updated and reinstalled my drivers many times, doesn't change a thing. (even a brand new build didn't fix this) To me it looks like my GPU doesn't like not being fully utilized/running idle. Anything I can try to do to fix this?

Hi guys ! Some years ago, I was the happy owner of a GTX 760. I built a computer for my brother and I made him buy another one (the same MSI card). Then, when i bought my KFA2 (or Galax), GTX 1070 EX, I gave my 760 to my brother so he can use it in SLI mode. My brother has a MSI Z87-G45 GAMING, powered by a seasonic PSU. The setup worked just fine for two years. Then, not so long ago, the computer crashed. Resolution was bad, artifact showed up. We tested both cards. Card 1, lets call it Django. Django has two fans. One of the fans sometimes... does not work. Sometimes works... it spins, then stops, then spins quickly, then slowly... no image, card not detected. Card 2, lets call it Marise. Marise shows artifacts. But Marise is detected by the computer. My brother never overclocked the cards. He has a Zalman Z11. I don't believe they could overheat. My brother hooked up one of the cards and used it alone for a time, I believe it was Marise. But at some point the card stoppped working. I don't believe we can repair these cards. Tho I'm pretty amazed he could kill 2 cards at almost the same time. But the cooling system if... well... cool ! What can I do with these cards ? What would you recommend ? Is there any possibility someone could repair it ? Could it come from something stupidly simple ? Can I do ANYTHING at all with the cooling if I decide to dismount it and throw the GPUs away ? Thanks !

Hey guys, My dad bought a pre-built Medion Akoya P5301 in the summer of 2014. It was a pretty sweet deal at the time. He needed a reasonable amount of computing power and a dedicated graphics card. The PC consists of an i7-4770 and a GTX760, also 16GB of ram. About a year ago it started showing some problems. The PC would suddenly freeze all graphics. The screens wouldn't change but all the audio still worked. Usually we restarted it with win+x+u+r. Sometimes it would start beeping, long short short, but it would always recover. Three days ago it didn't. I cleaned the entire PC (hadn't been done in a long time) but it still did nothing. My dad very nicely got an old GPU from his work IT, a 2006 ATI. We tried this, still did nothing. I then removed the GPU entirely and used the onboard graphics, this did seem to work. I don't know what I should/can troubleshoot next. I'll be on holiday for 2 weeks now, but I'll try to do some more research when I can.

It seems that there's some problems with my GTX 760. I tried connecting other HDMI cords in that port and I'm getting the same problem. There's no such issue with the VGA port though. Any fixes?

Hello. I just installed a gtx 770 with a 430 watt EVGA power supply. I used a dual Molex to 8-pin pcie adapter for the second 8 pin pcie power for this card. It booted to windows fine and I installed drivers and began running heaven benchmark. Almost immediately it crashed and the screen turned black. When I tried to turn it back on, there was no display and the graphics card fans were running full blast. I tried swapping the psu for a 500w but it still is not displaying video. Any help?

Hi i'm having an issue out of no where it just started today. I 'm running an Asus GTX 760 DCUII 2GB one in my rig Everything was smooth till today . when i restart rig it gives me around 24C temp after leaving it on idle without any reason temps kick up to 40C+ . it goes up gradually like 1 degree every 30 seconds. i sent my fan on full now and its stable on 34C which is 10 degrees higher then i was having yesterday or since the day i started using it after reapplying the thermal paste. I didn't install any new application of game. i've checked surface level info in Task Manager to see if some Program is messing with GPU . NO nothing unusual. Kindly help .

Guess should start with some background information. I mostly use my computer for gaming (CS:GO so not very demanding) and a small amount of photo / video editing. My current system is getting a bit older now and I would like to upgrade but don't want to spend much money at the moment. Going to take my old hardware as I start replacing it and use it to build a small home server. Current specs are: Core i7 4770k (Overclocked to 4.6GHZ) H100i Watercooler 16GB GSkill DDR3 (Overclocked slightly) Gigabyte Z87N-WIFI motherboard Gigabyte N760-OC 2GD (GTX 760 Windforce) video card (overclocked about 10% NZXT S340 Elite Case (first new part, still have older bit fenix case kicking around for my server build) Corsair neutron 256 GB SSD 1 TB western digital drive I am wanting to upgrade to Ryzen CPU and a new video card eventually. Would you suggest a new motherboard and CPU first? or upgrade the GPU first. More leaning towards a AMD gpu as well since my monitor is freesync capable but not gsync. How competive is the 4770k now compared to a new ryzen CPU? how does the 760 OC stack up compared to say a new rx580 or vega 56? Thanks, Richard
