RIG: intel i5 3450 8 GB DDR3 1600MHz MSI GTX 1660 super gaming x Gigabyte H61ms rev 1.1 Corsair cx750m PSU So yesterday, when I was starting my pc, my monitor was receiving no signal. Sometimes the PC won’t event turn on. The PSU 24 pin was loose so I bought a new one. After that the computer booted properly but then when I launched MSI afterburner it asked for update and after clicking on the update button my monitor went black and I had to restart my PC (GPU and all other were still running. The next time I tried to open a game and then the screen became black again and GPU went full speed and then I had to turn off the PC. (the temps were all fine I was constantly monitoring). Now my GPU won’t start (no light, no fan) but when I started using onboard gpu, the sound and network adapters weren’t working. So I thought that there might be some problem in PCI slot, so I went and checked the slot with another GPU using which the PC turned on. Is there any chance that there’s a problem in bios or my GPU needs to be repaired for sure?

Budget (including currency): Hoping it won't go past $500 (~P25,000 here) Country: Philippines Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming: at 1080p, Subnautica, Minecraft (modded), CSGO, Outlast, Bloons TD 6, GTA V, Fallout NV. I'm not really into the big AAA titles with super realistic graphics, more so thinking of playing older 2010s games and newer indie games, meaning they're not the most graphic demanding games Productivity: Krita, 6k resolution digital art work, Da Vinci Resolve, 720p resolution video work (used to be Filmora 'til I realized Da Vinci is free) Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Recently got into PC building™ and realized how bad my current set up is, like, really bad. So if you think the parts I want to upgrade might look a bit dated in today's standards, then you need to look at what I'm using right now (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DfJFRv) I couldn't list down case or PSU because pcpartpicker doesn't have them in their catalogue, but it's all packed in an Intex IT-516 case, with the PSU being built in to it, most likely not manufactured from reputable brands (It uses spaghetti cables so that probably gives you a good idea on the quality of it). Big red flags you may have noticed is how I don't have an SSD running as boot drive, using only single channel RAM (at a sad 2400mHz due to my mobo + CPU combo) or that I have a poor man's GT 1030 as my graphics card, where a few benchmarks later I've come to realize this is the one component I really need to upgrade the most. With that in mind, I'm looking to upgrade my current rig into something that's much more manageable (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/CDwwLs) ofc i'll still be keeping my old hard drive Good news is, I already have the dual channel RAM and the NVMe SSD, they're sitting right here on my desk right now as I'm typing this, I will be installing them by the weekend. Now if you look at the part list you'll notice how everything is a lot costly, no idea why the CV550 costs like that, but here in my country, local shops sell them for much cheaper. And I plan to get a used 1660 from Facebook marketplace, hopefully making everything cost under $500. Unsure if I'll buy everything in bulk, will probably get GPU first, then get everything else after so I can half case swap (I say half since I'd only really case swap the GPU and the HDD) Peripherals I don't really mind them, I'm sporting a 60hz monitor and maybe I'll get a 75hz one in the future. lmk what your thoughts are ^^ perhaps you have part suggestions that do better for around the same price, or maybe I need a higher wattage for my GPU + CPU combo, would love to know!

First of all I would like to clarify that I have checked other topics about flickering and non were exactly the same as mine and the given solutions either didn't help my case or were obviously not applicable in my situation. With that out of the way back to the issue at hand. My monitor- HP 22x has a weird flickering issue which is present when browsing the internet and sometimes on my desktop itself, but not when playing games (doesn't seem like the game or it's settings matter), or using programs like Blender. The flickering itself is rather odd as its not the entire screen but only a horizontal line near the top that flashes white or black. Sometimes the lines doesn't even go across the entire horizontal axis. Scrolling or staying static on a web page doesn't change or much or how often it flickers. In general it is quite rare, but sometimes it happens multiple times one after another. I have set my monitor at 144Hz (in the settings it says 144,01Hz) and I have it connect to my GPU (GTX 1660 Super) via HDMI cable. The resolution is 1080p if that matters. Freesync is on in the OSD, the monitor has been updated with the latest drivers from the manufacturer, same goes for the GPU. I have tried changing the refresh rate, updating everything and messing around with the OSD settings (in the end had to do a factory reset) and non of this helps! I tried messing around with Chrome settings too- turning on and off both smooth scrolling and hardware acceleration- again neither helped. Also G-Sync option is missing from my control panel but from I have read on this forum I need a display port cable to be using G-Sync with a compatible monitor, which this one claims to be, however I do not want to buy a new game (which is oddly expensive there I live) if that won't help. (Both the computer and monitor are about a week old. All new parts and freshly installed Win10.) Thank you for reading through!

So I have turned safe boot on in my bios to try out windows 11, but after i saved and restarted my pc just didnt output a signal aka my monitor said that there is no signal. I have tried removing cmos battery and inserting it back after a while, and the same with the connector for cmos. I have also tried cleaning my ram sticks and cleaning the graphics card. I tested the cables and they work just fine. My specs are : GTX 1660 super, 16 gb ram, h310m s2h 2.0 motherboard, i5-9500.

New guy here with a problem I'm having some issues trying to figure out. Desktop at home is connected to the monitor via a 4 port KVM IO Gear KVM switch, which has other systems like security cameras, work laptop, and Linux desktop connected. When I switch from my main gaming PC to another port, such as the Linux system, after a short period of time say less than 10 minutes, the GPU fan goes to max speed and when I switch the KVM back the video is blank and doesn't re-appear, however the PC is working fine since the audio doesn't stop playing via the bluetooth head phones. If I leave the KVM set to this computer this doesn't appear to happen, so I think with Nvidia's latest update that was a couple weeks ago this might be the cause. When I last used this system 2 months ago this didn't happen, so it has to be something recently in a MS Windows, Gigabyte, or Nvidia updates that is now causing a situation where a power cycle is needed to recover from. Has anyone else experienced this type of issue? I would be very interested to hear if someone else who is running a KVM switch if they have had similar issues. Thank you for reading and your time. I'm currently contemplating on buying a Philips 241E1SCA monitor with freesync suppport. The problem is that my gtx 1660 super, from what i've read, only supports freesync over DisplayPort, but the monitor only has HDMI input. Is it possible for me to use a displayport (GPU side) to hdmi (display side) adapter to work around this limitation? Or perhaps could I just enable it over HDMI? I would also prefer not to get any recommendations for different monitors since it is pretty much the best choice in my region given how dirt cheap it currently is (~90$ on sale) Sorry for mediocre English

My system: CPU: Ryzen 5 5600 GPU: GTX 1660 SUPER Galax MEM:2x8GB RAM 3000Mhz CL15 MOBO:b450 MORTAR MAX PSU: 500w GAMEMAX GM500 My system is not performing as expected given the hardware set. In cpuz for example, the benchmark values are way below normal, performing below the performance of an r5 5500 for example. (See cpuz benchmark images) In games things get much worse. In games like spiderman for example, the average FPS in the MEDIUM preset is around of 50 FPS. In a normal situation, the FPS should be around 100! In Warzone with the preset on LOW, the average FPS is 75 FPS. Normal should be above 100. BF1 is another example where the lack of performance is clear. My average is 80 FPS with everything on low and the normal should be above 180-200 FPS. I have already performed HD health tests, formatted the system, performed GPU/CPU/MEM stress tests I have overclocked the ram to 3600Mhz at 16CL, I have updated all the drivers... I really have no idea what is causing this lack of performance in my system. That is why I am asking for help from the academics and masters of hardware on duty. EDIT: During some tests, my computer would simply crash and restart while playing (CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED - 0xEF BlueScreen). formatted the windows and did not solve, then there is no print of the performance of BF1 because I have not downloaded yet. I decided to mention this because it can be a key point in finding the problem. I don't know if my GPU should be running on a PCI-E 2.0x4. I don't know why it is this way, but even though it has performance loss in relation to PCI-E 3.0x16, I don't think it justifies losing so much performance, or does it? Well, any comment will be welcome. Thanks in advance! My PC is an old HP Compaq 6300 MT. It has a Q75 Express which has the PCI-e slot right below the CPU. I have a GALAX 1050Ti EXOC, I couldn't slot it in because the plastic shroud hits the CPU heatsink. So I had to unscrew the shroud from the GPU heatsink and just plopped it down on the heatsink diagonally. I couldn't even put the side panel back on because a small part of the shroud is poking out. I was considering a PCI-e riser and a vertical mount but this ancient case doesn't have a vertical slot. What can I do about it? Are there any weirdly shaped CPU coolers or some sort of magic bracket?

Hi everyone I just bought a gtx 1660 super and was wondering if I should upgrade to a ultrawide display. Please let me know what kind of performance I will get at ultrawide resolution. Looking to play shadow of war Doom eternal and other new titles. Also please give your opinions on whether this is worth it as I currently have a 1920x1080 display. Thank you

Hi everyone, I have a fan problem with my Gigabyte GTX 1660 super gaming OC (3 cooling fans). At some point, the 1st and 2nd fans start spinning very fast, while the 3rd fan is not spinning at all. The sound is really loud, like a vacuum cleaner as you can see (and listen to) in the video below: In order to investigate the issue, I used the Aorus Engine tool and used the default fan profile, as shown below: This didn't solve the problem. Then I saw this similar post using MSI Afterburner's default profile so I decided to raise the idle fan speed from 0% to 5%. Now the fans never stop spinning completely so I run into this problem less frequently. Hence, I guess the problem is mostly caused when the fans try to completely stop spinning. Some further info: The problem happens only when the fans try to stop spinning. When the fans are idle and then start spinning because of a rise in temperature, both 3 fans spin without a problem. I have updated the nvidia drivers and the gpu bios to the latest version but that didn't fix the problem. When not using any custom fan configuration but having Aorus Engine open, I noticed something strange: When the 1st and 2nd fan were spinning (but not the 3rd), the tool displayed the fan speed as 0% (as if no fan was spinning). Also, when at this weird state, fans 1 and 2 spun even faster (and louder) than when configured to spin at 100%. Also, when in that state, restarting my pc doesn't fix the problem (fans 1 and 2 keep spinning). The only way to stop the fans is either turn off the pc or give a gentle tap to the 3rd fan (the one that isn't spinning). Then, it starts spinning for a split second and then both 3 fans stop spinning altogether (until boh 3 fans start spinning again when the temperature rises, without a problem). Despite partly "fixing" the problem with the custom profile, I would like to know your thoughts, if you have encountered anything similar (e.g. maybe this post) and possible ways that I can fix the issue (if possible). Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi, can anyone give me advice on this configuration that I would like to assemble myself (this is the first time)? I would like to know if these components are compatible with each other, if they can give errors and if assembly is difficult. The use would be office and leisure, with occasional gaming, but which is also an investment for a few years. Budget $800 less than discounts and special occasions. Case: Cooler Master MasterBox Q300L Mobo: MSI B450M MORTAR MAX Micro-ATX CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER (any version) SSD: Sabrent Rocket 256GB NVMe M.2 RAM: Crucial Ballistix 16GB (8GB x2) DDR4 3000 MHz PSU: Corsair VS550 I chose this case because I want a small and silent configuration when it is not under stress. Furthermore, I don't care that it is aesthetically beautiful, in fact I don't want RGB. I already have a sata HDD where I can install games and programs. Does the GTX 1660 Super fit in size? Is Mobo ok for future upgrades? Thanks

Hey, I am looking for a GPU to replace my GT 1030. I am a YouTuber that records video using OBS, but I have to rely on x264 on a dual-core i5 CPU from the Clarkdale era. I was thinking about getting a GTX 1660 Super, but I am not sure if it has NVENC which is something I badly need. I failed to do so with the GT 1030 which I had assumed had it. Yes, I am very aware that I will be heavily CPU bottlenecked, but that doesn't bother me, I just need a decent graphics card for cheap. Even if the graphics card has a slower NVENC than the RTX cards, I am sure it would be able to handle 1366x768 60 fps recordings. My CPU, on the other hand, drops frames at 720p 24 fps on the ultrafast preset. Should I get the card? I am literally flat broke, relying on my parents' generosity and Christmas gifts, so I am not looking for answers like "omg why do you have a dual-core cpu" or "just buy a new pc". I can't. I don't have the money. Literally to get a 1660 Super, I would have to sell my GT 1030 first only to get around $50 - $65. Anyways, your thoughts?

Okay so I am looking for an upgrade for my RX 570 4gb and I was looking at the 1660 Super and RX 5700 but I don't really want to spend the price to get a 5700. Would a 1070Ti be a good card for a few years even if bought now in 2019? I using a 1080p display at 60hz. Also long term which would be better. I know the 1070Ti has more VRAM but it is older and I would think the others should be supported for longer. The 1660 Super I am looking at is around $229.99, the 5700 is around $299.99, and the 1070 Ti is somewhere in the ballpark of $220-250.

Hello, I want upgrade my PC, because my GTX 960 2GB is almost aging (running mostly on medium or low). The I5 6400 is mostly at 60 or 85% usage and by Need For Speed Heat is around 75% CPU usage on every graphical setting. Will the GTX 1660 Super (from Gigabyte 2 fans) bottlenecking my CPU hard with stuttering and not so smooth or just around 10 fps drops? My Current Specs: I5 6400 (stock) ASUS H170 Pro Gaming motherboard. GTX 960 2GB 8GB DDR4 2133mhz 500W PSU. I want upgrade my memory to 16GB RAM, but I saw 2400mhz for a cheaper prize. Is it ok and with the motherboard clock back to max supported speed 2133mhz? Thank your in advance and merry Christmas
