Hi Everyone! (This is my first time posting on the ltt forums so please excuse me if i do something wrong) In January I got gifted my first ever PC and I love it. I've never been able to game before so its really helped me. But after having used it for two and a half months, I still love it, but i'm starting to wonder what my next move should be in getting more performance out of it. The specs are: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Nvidia GTX 1050 ti 1 x 8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200 MHz RAM Asus PRIME A320M-K Motherboard Ace 500W PSU Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD This system is running Windows 10 and i'm mainly looking to get higher fps on Forza Horizon 4 and Star Wars Battlefront 2. Also, my budget isn't huge but price isn't the focus of this post, i just want to know what should be the next logical step in upgrading this system. Thanks so much for your help in advance, YourMothereee

For context - My laptop is an MSI GF63 8RD, GPU is nvidia gtx 1050ti. Before this happened my laptop was working perfectly fine and my laptop doesn't reach the 93degrees celsius when I'm playing or using any screen recorder. After the temperature started going up to 93degrees I checked my paste and my fan, turns out one of my vent was already blocked by dusts and so I cleaned. After cleaning and repasting nothing has changed, the temperature is still goes up to 93. I'm starting to lose fix options because I tried almost everything and nothing is happening. This are some of the things I did that seemed to have little to no effects at all 1. Put the processor performance in the advanced power options to 99% instead of 100. (no effect) 2. MSI Afterburner - It only has an effect when I run OBS and the temperature drop is only by 5degrees or so. Underclocking and undervolting are part of what I do but doesn't really do much when I run a game. 3. Reinstalled the nvidia driver before it started going hot - also has no effect. 4. External cooling pad - only helps when on normal usage but when I start using OBS or games they still go to 93degrees. 5. Repasted and cleaned the fan as well - although I think that my paste is low quality because it was just around $1 to $2 Does anyone knows the problem here?

Is there any possible way to fix this? i have a heatgun and isopropyl alcohol but i don't know how to use them to fix this i seen online people fixing gpus like this. So in my laptop (Lenovo legion y520) I have and intel i5-7300HQ CPU @ 2.50GHZ, for integrated graphics I have intel(R) HD Graphics 630, For a GPU I have an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, the problem is when gaming if i pull up my task manager to check my performance I see that my integrated graphics are chugging along at around 60% but my actual GPU (the GTX 1050 Ti) is running at 0% usage. For some reason it seems that my graphics card which should be quite decent is not running at all. One of my friends said that it might be disabled in the BIOS but I don't want to mess something up. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this problem? Attached is task manager when I am running a game.

YO, so I have pre-ordered my gtx 1050ti awhile ago and i figured out it wont be here for awhile due to the fact i am high up on a delivery list. SOOO... i improvised a few days ago and got me a dinky little gt 710. It's bearable but i eventually am going to use that 1050ti when it arrives. Now, although the gt 710 doesn't perform very well, i still think i should put it to good use, So I'm deciding on going dual gpu with the 1050ti and the gt 710. I'm just wondering if anyone could tell me how much performance i would get using a 2gb card and a 4gb card together. Unless it wouldn't work at all, in that case- asking this entire question was a waste of time lol! Also, I'm very proud to say I am typing this on my first pc i have ever built and managed to get it to boot first time!! (weird flex?)

Hello guys! There is a PC I've seen that is relatively cheap that I want to buy, which is the HP Elitedesk 800 G2 SFF. The specs for it is; CPU: i5-6500 SSD: 240GB (I want to upgrade to Samsung 860 Evo 1TB) RAM: 16GB RAM, 2400 Mhz GPU: None (if you don't count the Intel HD), but I have a GTX 1050 Ti Low profile that I want to add and use. Now since this doesn't have a lot of PSU, i think it's either 200W or 240W, is it possible to buy a Samsung 860 Evo 1TB (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-MZ-76E1T0B-EU-Solid-State/dp/B078WST5RK) And add a GTX 1050 Ti Low Profile, 4GB (https://www.newegg.com/amp/msi-geforce-gtx-1050-ti-gtx-1050-ti-4gt-lp/p/N82E16814137081) I've seen that some have written that was able to get the GTX 1050 Ti up and running and worked great! i'm also going add the graphic card, however 240GB storage is too low, that's why i want to add at least 1TB instead. I t doesn't even have to be specifically the Samsung 860 Evo, i just chose that due to the reability. Do you think this PC can handle the upgrade?

I want to use the integrated graphics processor for some of my games. The option to switch to power saving under graphics settings still says GTX 1050ti. How do I get the option to use the integrated graphics processor?

My PC is an old HP Compaq 6300 MT. It has a Q75 Express which has the PCI-e slot right below the CPU. I have a GALAX 1050Ti EXOC, I couldn't slot it in because the plastic shroud hits the CPU heatsink. So I had to unscrew the shroud from the GPU heatsink and just plopped it down on the heatsink diagonally. I couldn't even put the side panel back on because a small part of the shroud is poking out. I was considering a PCI-e riser and a vertical mount but this ancient case doesn't have a vertical slot. What can I do about it? Are there any weirdly shaped CPU coolers or some sort of magic bracket?

So I have this Dell Vostro 3669 from 2017-ish, that I was planning to upgrade hardware wise and I was wondering if the upgrades that I'm about to do are still worth it or even plausible in 2020. So my plan is to add a Palit GTX 1050 ti that I found second hand for around PHP 3,800 (roughly $75 USD), I also considered a RX 570 and the GTX 1060 but they are too steep for my budget at around PHP 6000 to PHP 12,500 ($120 to $247) and I was also considering to replace the CPU from a i3-7100 to a i5-7400 which I dunno if the difference between the two (If you know the difference let me know and also If you guys have a better suggestion please leave it in the comments). Thanks My use for this PC is for gaming on light e sports titles (CS:GO, LoL, Tekken 7) I don't mind graphics that much since I set cs-go to 1024x768 and I also wanted to use this PC for some light editing (if it's even possible) FULL SPECS: i3-7100 8GB 2400mhz DDR4 ram (Dual-Channel 4x2) Seagate 1TB HDD Stock Dell PSU

Hey I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a Graphics Card that is affordable and will run VR games well. I'd preferably want something $400 or less. You see my friends not everyone can afford a 2080 ti. Right now I have a 1050 ti which is below spec for all major VR headsets which is why I'm looking for an upgrade. Comment your suggestions please.

So I recently reinstalled Garry's Mod after not playing it for at least a year and I knew I could and can run it with absolutely no problems whatsoever. I installed it aaaaand nothing. I did some research and tried -dxlevel 81. Nothing. I also tried -dxlevel 90 and 95. I tried launching it in windowed mode, I heard a sound effect but stopped responding when I clicked the screen which was still black. I tried a couple other launch options for force loading and something else and nothing worked. I validated the local files and I reinstalled it. Nothing works and I REALLY want to play it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Which one is better? GTX 1050 TI and 16gb of ram or GTX 1060 and 8gb of ram?

I have the chance to buy a 780 reference card with the illuminated geforce gtx and I like that for 100$. I won't be playing any new games at all probably nothing past 2013 so to say. I will be playing mainly emulators like pcsx2 and dolphin and I heard that nvidia cards are better optimized for those. Will I better off spending 150$ on a 1050ti or a 780 3gb. Thanks.

Hoping someone can draw up a comparison between the performance of previous generations of cards versus the newer, very cheap 1050 Ti (~$150). A redirection to a link detailing performance benchmarks under various loads would be a godsend. CUDA Cores, processor and memory speed, newer vs old GPU architecture. These concepts are new to me. What do I need know? Explanations as to why one GPU would be considered superior to another at one task, while being a lesser contender in another avenue would be much appreciated. Specific to my situation, I'm currently running my gaming desktop on an EVGA 960 FTW ACX 2.0. My main question is, is there any reason to consider upgrading?

I just put together my very first pc but the dang graphics card doesn't work. It doesn't show up in my device manager. The only thing that shows up when I go to display adapters is the microsoft basic display adapter. The pc recognized the graphics card before I downloaded the windows 10 update that said something nvidia in it and now when I open up afterburner all it says is there is the display adapter. I also found that windows update failed to install the nvidia graphics adapter update so I don't really know what to do here. I went to nvidia's website and tried to download the latest driver from there but then I get a this isn't compatible with my windows version error message. When I tried trouble shooting it by going through the inf installation files I couldn't get the hardware ID from my graphics card since it doesn't show. I did see get another error message when I tried to update the drivers on the display adapter and it said it could download the 1050 Ti's drivers or something like that and it said to go to the manufacturer's website but I ALREADY DID THAT so I am at the end of my rope here. Also when I booted up Heroes of the Storm just to see if it would work for the first time the games list didn't show up on the left of the window either but I could click on them, then I encountered some pretty bad stuttering and/or framerates running at even the lowest settings just trying to get into the game. I never made it past the log in because the log in button wouldn't even light up. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!

Hi guys and gals. I was wondering if a i5 760 would bottleneck a gtx 1050 ti or something similar to the card.

Hello linustechtips forum members, I wanted to upgrade my pc soon with a 250€ budget and wanted to get you'r opinion on what I should do. So the things I wanted to do where these: 1. Get a new Graphicscard 2. Get Trackhat 3. Drop any bottleneck I can The Graphicscards I have looked up for that price are: Radeon RX 480 8GB: https://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/8GB-PowerColor-Radeon-RX-480-Red-Dragon-Aktiv-PCIe-3-0-x16--Retail-_1124443.html Radeon RX 470 8GB: https://www.amazon.de/MSI-Radeon-RX-470-GAMING/dp/B01JP9U51A Geforce GTX 1050 Ti OC: https://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/4GB-KFA2-GeForce-GTX-1050-Ti-OC-Aktiv-PCIe-3-0-x16--Retail-_1126382.html And now my System Specs: Motherboard: Asus M5A78L-M LE CPU: Amd Athlon II X4 620 (Overclocked to 3.25 Mhz) Graphicscard: Msi N570 Twin Frozr III Power Edition RAM: Transcend 8 GB Kit DDR3 1333 CL9 Powersupply: LEPA B800M Storage: 2x 1TB HDD and 1x 500GB HDD So my Questions are: 1. Is there any Bottleneck already there? 2. If I upgrade my Graphicscard, will there be a Bottleneck ? 2.1 If yes where will it be and how devastating will it be ? 3. Which Graphicscard should I choose ? 4. If there is definitly gonna be a Bottleneck, how/what should I upgrade next or what are my alternatives ? I am not so deep into this stuff as some of you guys so help is much wanted. Also I'm apoloziging for my bad english grammar or spelling as english is not my native tongue Vinci480
