It all started when I kinda stupidly decided to build a new white rig from scratch with the cleanest possible look. Originally I was running a Vision 3080 which is a pretty nice white card and had two lovely 8 pin connectors, nice and easy and safe, white extensions straight forward enough, 40 quid or something. Got excited on Black Friday and picked up Gigabytes 4080 equivalent which was still over priced...however not quite as badly over priced, and thats how they get you once youve softened slightly. Of course first thing I realised is that the shipped 3 x 8 to 12VHPWR adapter is gonna look total crap with my setup, I know I sound entitled there but I spent so long making everything look clean I wasnt going to ruin it with the shipped adapter. Not really thinking too much about it I got myself a CableMod white extension cable but with a straight connector, 40 more quid, it hadnt really occurred to me at this point that the case might not be wide enough to house the bend....(Fractual Pop Air) It wasnt...the cable bend would press up against the glass of the panel just enough to apply some downward pressure and after all the horror stories I couldnt risk anything with the connection. 50 quid later I had a variant B V1.1 right angle adapter, sick, I could finally put it all together, look decent as well, adapter kinda looks like a Storm Troopers Helmet.....few weeks later CableMod recall....REMOVE YOUR ADAPTERS IMMEDIATELY OR DIE....I mean I could be forgiven for thinking that they had solved the 1.0 issues in the 1.1. nope. At this point I just though screw it and 80 quid later I had my own direct PSU cable made and perhaps the lesson is I should have just done it from the word go, hopefully I can sell the CableMod straight 3 x - 12VHPWR extension and the recall will actually offer some sort of monetary return, we dont know yet. I feel a little stupid tbh. Anyway, hears hoping I dont need to take it apart yet again for cabling reasons: Yes I run Noctua's in a white case, but there isnt anything that matches the performance and sound.

Okay, so I have been thinking this for awhile now and I genuinely think we may be seeing history repeat itself, With the next generation of CPU architecture (ARM) beginning to take its foothold in the market, I began seeing AMD/Intel respond similarly as once Nortel or Lucent once did with their original response to Cisco's IP alternative to ATM (predecessor to IP) my point being we are clearly seeing another major architectural change within computing, and how the major players (AMD/Intel) being nearly non-responsive until only now, are we seeing another Nortel/Lucent situation begin to unfold slowly in front of our very own eyes. If anyone has thoughts, feel free to drop them, I might just be an idiot, but this is my observation at least.

I want to know, Can I set up RAID on SSD and RAID on HDD separately in a single system? Yes, I don't want RAID on SSD and HDD together cause it affects the speed of the drives. I want both speed and reliability on drives. I use my RIG for gaming and other productivity purposes Like Editing Video on Premier Pro, Using AutoCAD for Designing 3D models, Illustrator and Photoshop for Photo editing, Etc. The motherboard that I am using is Z790 Proart wifi. 3 out of 4 M.2 slot has been used for keeping the 8 SATA ports active. 6 SATA port is used for HDDs(Barracuda Pro 10TB) 2 SATA port is(will be) used for SSDs(Empty{Don't know which SATA SSD is reliable in the market at the time of writing}) The SATA SSD will be used as Cache Drive. HDDs are for Bulk storage until I get a NAS in my hand. So, The objectives are to run the M.2s at UNRAID for Maximum performance, SATA SSDs as Cache, HDDs for bulk storage for completed projects. I also need to know which SATA SSD is reliable. Thank you so much for your attention and participation.

I have an MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Carbon Pro AC and currently I have an m.2 PCEI Gen 3 Samsung 970 Evo and I bought another m.2 PCEI Gen 4 Samsung 980 Pro but the PC does not post when I install the drive. It states the DRAM long white light flash and CPU short white light flash and it doesn’t post. But when I uninstall the new GEN 4 ssd it works. Would it help if I uninstall my boot GEN 3 drive and install the GEN 4 in the top m.2 slot and the boot drive in the bottom m.2 slot?

As of today, I have actually been playing Doom Eternal for a week (via pc) & I have to admit that I absolutely LOVE IT! Heck, I even believe it's easily better than Doom 2016 for that matter! :D But I do have 1 minor complaint about the game: As stated in the title- I'm finding that sometimes in the game my Tab Key won't work & it's been driving me half-nuts! (Just like Doom 2016, you can use the Tab Key to view your Dossier, Weapon Upgrades, Suit Upgrades, Ruins, etc.) Now I have done a little bit of troubleshooting myself: checking for driver updates, making sure the OS isn't corrupted, having the latest Windows Updates, etc, but haven't turned up with anything out of the ordinary. There's nothing even wrong with my keyboard considering I have only been using it for a few months since I got it! I should mention that I chose to use the Bethesda Launcher instead of using Steam for the game. So, with that being said, I do have some questions regarding this: 1.) Has anyone else been having this sort of issue? 2.) Is the issue more related to the game itself or does it depend on the launcher to choose to use? 3.) Has anyone been able to fix sort of issue if they have already experienced it like I still am? 4.) Does anyone know if this type of issue might be fixed in either a game update or possibly an update to the Bethesda Launcher or Steam? I'd like to hear from you guys on this! And if anyone needs to ask me something or you might want further details, just go ahead & ask! I'll get back with you in a flash! :) Thanks to anyone who might be able to help!

I just found one "special" card; My neighbor just moved out and left some old tech. When I looked through it, I found a 760 mars which is a dual gpu card. I know its probably irrelevant nowadays but what should I do with this card? haha.. Keep it as part of my collections, try some games on it or if you have any Ideas..? I'm still a bit new it the Tech world so this might be not that special after all! There's a video of Linus, back in NCIX, showcasing this card if you are curious!

Hey everyone! Tax returns are right around the corner for us in the US and with that comes a little bit of leasure money for me. I haven't put much into my gaming PC in a while so it got me thinking, I really want to build a new computer but wouldn't have all of the money right now... So should I save this extra cash for a day that I can build an entire new computer or could I upgrade my gpu now to get some more years out of my current rig? Below is the main parts of what I use as my daily driver: EVGA Gtx 970 (forget the actual model...) i5-3570k 16gb Corsiar Vengeance ram 500 gb Samsung 860 Evo 2TB hard drive storage I want to get the most out of my current system and it's not entirely holding me back from the games that I'm currently playing. It would be nice to play them on high qualities or get more that 45ish fps though haha. So I guess I'm asking, is my PC more of a lost cause or could I get a few more years out of it with a new GPU? If a new GPU is the answer, I was thinking about a RTX 2060. I don't know what one to go with though... Thank you all in advance!

What do you have to say ? Post Your thoughts & comments down below.. #Rep'Lies' For much of the time, we rely on the good oll comment section & visual reviews(Youtube) & written reviews of a hardware product for our research purpose before we commit to buying a product, when you reserve your research criteria to "certain specifics" (first/best rated comment/popular reviewer/brand badge/site popularity & ranking) it seems to be always on the plus side mostly when it comes to certain popular companies (not naming any here & i'm not talking about a specific hardware) , Now i'm not talking about specifics , i mean as if a brand(new or old) product or a new hardware like a PC case is being pushed out as favorable by the majority (which in real world performance fails to reach that level of standard on what you saw or heard) When you broaden your research circle you get a lot more info that can be rather negative to what you've heard from the products earlier from the mainstream sometimes (example image of ) 5 star replies example feel as if the review reply sections are teeming with false reassurance of the product by seemingly "random" commenters from the internet , i feel like there's a legit foul play taking place when it comes to these areas , could be fixed review by an industry affiliate or company fed/payed reviewers , but if they even get a hold of 30-40%(rough estimate) of the entire reply as in representation of the product , it tends to mislead genuine buyers/researchers Samsung was caught up in a similar predicament last year or so when they hired people to write positive reviews for their phones who were being payed who had no experiences with the product , common sense will tell yo it's happening loosely, but these days the overall competition is tight & sellers would take any measures to sell their products & i feel as if most of the reviews which supposed to seem genuine might not be genuine at all . don't take it wrong , there are genuine people who are writing things that are often truthful & less exaggerated on a neutral tone , if huge companies take measure like these , pretty sure most of the companies who have nothing to loose use the reviews for basic marketing purposes , What do you think ? Alright, thought this would be a fun thread , List the brands & Only the brands alone which makes up Your current PC , DO NOT explicitly specify which component & or what model it is, List the brand name & leave how many of it's components are there if there are more than one within brackets (if it's one component you can leave adding the number anything on or above 2 you should add as shown in the example shown below) So which Brand make your PC, Your PC? Post your replies & comments down below Example : (My Pc) Intel (2x) Toshiba (2x) Dell (1x) Corsair (2X) LG (2X) Sony (1x) Sennheiser (1X) Gigabyte (1x) EVGA (1X) APC (1X) Belkin (1x) WD (1X) Logitech(1x) AMD(1X) XFX (1X)

Just Post your thoughts down below (on title) without reading my comment , Okay , most of us here do spend often a lot of time in front of some form of display PC/mobile/Tablet/Smart Tv like kinds , often too much time , altho we do somewhat free socializing on this(usual counterargument) , are we too boldly attached to this even tho physical meetup & interaction is easier on the given time but, we choose to do it online anyways , is it becoming a norm? Post your thoguths & replies down below , & do you think you often spend too much time on your and/or others computer Wiki: described as the excessive or compulsive use of the computer which persists despite serious negative consequences for personal, social or occupational function

Hello Everyone! I'm new, but I just wanted to compliment the moderators, and those who are active in the Linus Tech Tips forums and community. I put together a parts list and posted it on reddit at r/buildapc, and two hours later my post had no replies and no upvotes. I joined this community made this post and within 30 minutes had many people responding and giving me quality advice. I just think that deserves some recognition! You people are an awesome community! Thanks for the help, and now I know where to look when I have further questions on my build, Thank you! B)
